“I’m here to answer the questions. You do NOT need to read ANY of the Wrecked and Ruined series to read Fighting Silence. It is ALL new characters. Slate is from another of my books (Among The Echoes), but he only has a father figure role in Fighting Silence, so you don’t need to know how he likes it in bed to appreciate him. HAHAHA! The others just make cameos. It’s a small treat for my avid readers, but not necessary in ANY way.”
And look how much our fellow readers are LOVING these!
Lauren: I read Fighting Silence last night….then got up this morning & reread my favorite parts. Some of our fav characters from her other books are in this one….mainly Slate & Erica from Among the Echoes (my fav of her books) & Leo from Broken Course 3 & Among the Echoes. Slate has a pretty big part in Fighting Silence but you really don’t have to read the other books before this one. The other Broken Course characters just make cameos really.
Melissa: You MUST read Fighting Silence….such a beautiful (and often times HOT) story. Plus its Aly Martinez…girlfriend puts words into poetry on the page!!!!!
Ashley: Fighting Silence is great. I highly recommend it. Aly’s books get better and better and FS does NOT disappoint. You will fall in love with Till Page and all of the Page brothers for that matter.
Jean: Just finished Fighting Shadows by Aly Martinez!!! So good! It is the second book to Fighting Silence which was also great and they must be read in order. Love her writing! Jean: …her On The Ropes series! So good!
Theresa: Aly Martinez is going to write 3rd book Fighting Solitude. I’m going to say need to read in order…
Jean: Fighting Solitude! So excited for that one!
About book #1:
I’ve always been a fighter. With parents who barely managed to stay out of jail and two little brothers who narrowly avoided foster care, I became skilled at dodging the punches life threw at me. Growing up, I didn’t have anything I could call my own, but from the moment I met Eliza Reynolds, she was always mine. I became utterly addicted to her and the escape from reality we provided each other. Throughout the years, she had boyfriends and I had girlfriends, but there wasn’t a single night that I didn’t hear her voice.
You see, meeting the love of my life at age thirteen was never part of my plan. However, neither was gradually going deaf at the age of twenty-one.
They both happened anyway.
Now, I’m on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life.
Fighting for my career.
Fighting the impending silence.
Fighting for her.
Every night, just before falling asleep, she sighs as a final conscious breath leaves her.
I think that’s the sound I’ll miss the most.
