Queeeeeeen of angsty, unputdownable duets has a new one going LIVE in just a few days!!! SQUEEEEE!! YAY US! I absolutely LOVE this author.
I’ve devoured a bunch of her books and I’m always hooked, and Theresa just told me this amazing news (plus it’s super-bargain priced right now!!)
Theresa: Her new duet is up for preordered. With a 3 day only bargain on first book due out 5/23
Maryse: SQUEEEEE!!!! I’m going to post it now. 😀 !!!!
Michelle E: Omg!! I’m reading the new Aly Martinez book and here I am thinking this book is so unusual for her writing style. Sure it’s angsty.. and hooked me from page one but it seemed sweet too and then WHAM…BAM twist I should have seen, but didn’t see at the 97% mark hit me like WHOA!! I threw my kindle with only a few pages left because I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING… I’m pacing while typing this to you. I don’t know if I can read the rest. *spoiler* has to be wrong about our *spoiler* but now it’s out there and I can’t unsee it and it’s a cliffhanger.. so yeah I don’t know if I can finish.
She’s done it again with her brilliant writing. Ugh sorry for the rant.
About book #1:
Every little girl dreams of the fairytale. The one where the white knight rushes in to save her from the clutches of evil. They fall in love, have babies, and live happily ever after.
By that definition, my life should have been a fairytale too.
When I was eight years old, Caven Hunt saved me from the worst kind of evil to walk the Earth. It didn’t matter that I was a kid. I fell in love with him all the same.
But that was where my fairytale ended.
Years later, a one-night stand during the darkest time imaginable gave us a little girl. It was nothing compared to the pitch black that consumed me when I was forced to leave her with Caven for good.
At the end of every fairytale, the happily-ever-after is the one thing that remains consistent. It wasn’t going to be mine, but there hadn’t been a night that passed where I hadn’t prayed that it would be hers.
I owed Caven my life.
However, I owed that innocent child more.
And that included ripping the heart from my chest and facing her father again.

I’ve never read an Aly Martinez book and I have no idea why! Are any of the characters recurring or connected across any of the series? And which book would you suggest I start with?
Omg Nay! I don’t know where to start! The Wrecked and Ruined series was awesome to start, as was the On the Ropes series, The Reteival Duet, The Darkest Sunrise Duet, and I LOVED The Fall Up (only read the first one of that duet though as the 2nd was M/M and that’s not my thing).
Her books are awesome and I love her!
Wow! How did I miss that you loved her books so much? I’ll start with Wrecked and Ruined first. Thanks! And I’m guessing no series are connected? If they are, I want to make sure to read them in order. And since M/M is also not my thing, should I skip The Fall Up?
OMG, the Wrecked and Ruined series……i remember it specifically so that should tell you something and I read it two years ago!!
Nay, The Fall Up is a standalone and you dont have to read book 2.
Thank you! After The Assistant and A Five-Minute Life, I’ll try to start one of these!
I’ve only read The Darkest Sunrise duet but I want to read her other stuff…she’s very talented!
I can’t wait to read! I love Aly books. But I’m thinking I might have to wait for book 2 first. I’m not good with cliffhangers. And I know there will probably be a big one.
But can I wait a few more weeks… this one is biting a hole in my Kindle.
