Hey! I have a funny memory to tell you guys about!Β Once upon a time, in 2009, when I went to the Romantic Times Convention in Orlando, I was strictly a paranormal romance/urban fantasy fan. Had no real clue about the other erotica & romance genres out there (as I had been a “horror” fan before that).Β But boy was I in for an awakening!
As I was walking around the signing tables, approaching my favorite authors, and getting to know some knew ones, I was handed a trinket (I had been given cute bookmarks, pens, buttons and all sorts of great promotional goodies from the various authors I spoke with). So as I was about to inspect the cold metal item in my hand, I looked at the author’s name tag, looked down at her display table and asked what she wrote. She smiled sweetly and said “BDSM” with a slight mischievous tilt of her head. I blinked, looked down at my trinket, and *blushed* furiously as I realized what I was holding.
Mini, adorable HANDCUFFS!!! Tee hee!!!! And as I gawked at them, and then at her, and then at my husband, I thought to myself BDSM!!?? There were romance books about that?! NO! WAY!
LOL! How innocent I was. Because you see, Mr. Grey has since initiated me into the genre (even if it was “lightly”) and has opened up my reading world. Since the “Fifty Shades” books I have read some heavier stuff that delves deeper into the genre, and I must say. What fun! And as I was sorting through my fun book-related memorabilia today, I came across those very handcuffs, and was THRILLED to see that the author tagged them with her info, so I could look her up.
To thank her for such a fun memory, and a very cherished, unforgettable trinket, I am dedicating this post to Brynn Paulin, Β in the form of a series reading order guide of one of her series. THIS is the author that gave me my first memory of BDSM erotica!
This is a series made up of veryΒ short stories about “The Dungeon” and the Masters that work there and since it is the longest series in her collection so far, I selected to feature it. (It appears as though all of her stories are “short stories”).
About book #1:
“For Ethan Tavish, The Dungeon has served as a place to exert his dominance without making lasting commitments. He can hardly believe his eyes when he enters the play area to find his secretary, Natalia, bent over the spanking bench in a schoolgirl uniform. Theyβre both masked, but heβd recognize her anywhere. In an instant, he has a plan to give them what they both wantβ¦and perhaps a whole lot more.”

grrrr, Ok so I went and just stalked her page, and I read an expert of her first book in the series and wouldn’t you know it,,it quit right when it was fixing to get good,,I should have known better *sighs* Well, as Mr Grey also opened my mind to a different world, I might have to check into this one, thanks for sharing *hugs*

LOL!!!
Well they are *super short* – I tried to find a series with full length or near full length books, but as far as I can tell, they are all shorts, no matter what series. So I chose the series with the most stories in it. π
Brynn Paulin is a phenomenal writer. I don’t ready anyone else when it comes to BDSM. With her it’s about making a private moment special. She has this knack for making it all tender and loving with the happily ever after at the end. You won’t be sorry you picked these up!
