in Reading Order Guide:

I only discovered this author with her latest book #3 release (each book can be read as a standalone), but I fell in love with her writing and had to know more! Sure enough, it would seem the theme of this series features reclusive, brooding men, traumatic experiences and the women that they finally let into their hearts. *sigh*

Jillian: Maryse you’ll Love Rush. PLEASE give it a shot. You’ll be hooked. I know it! It really is just brilliant. You FEEL and LIVE every moment with them. He’s the epitome of a jerk to her at the beginning… I was so mad at him! The things he says and does… Gah!!! And the girl in it is the perfect heroine. She wasn’t over the top perfect, but she wasn’t annoying. She was real, he was real. He was an amazing extreme sports athlete… To have that taken away and the way we get to see his pov through his blind eyes? Wonderful. She wrote it to a T. Anyone!! You won’t regret reading it. (I swear I do not know the author, promise) ;)

Anne: Guys you need to read RUSH! I loved it!! Its so touching and beautiful. Perfection!

Jeannie: YES!!! I just finished Rush yesterday & absolutely LOVED it!!! One of my faves this year!!!

Diane: Reviews of Rush are that it has a Me before u feel but not tragic, if that’s the case, I’m SO in…

Agreed!! Going by the book I just read (RUSH), it’s loaded in heartfelt, exquisite prose, but not in the least bit stuffy. It’s contemporary, it’s “us” it’s young and fun and funny, and angsty. She equally balances humor, moments of infuriation, and moments that give us butterflies, and I loved it!

About book #1:

Traumatized by the deaths of her parents three years ago, Natalie Hewitt lives an introverted life, taking college classes during the day and working as a barista in a coffee shop at night. A passionate reader, she uses the writing of the world-famous and reclusive novelist Rafael Melendez Mendón to assuage her grief. His words are the only refuge from her pain, and she is certain his characters are better company than anyone she could meet in real life.

Julian Kovač is a millionaire and a recluse. He lives a life of self-imposed seclusion in order to protect a secret, and honor his dying mother’s last wish. He walks into Natalie’s café one summer evening and both of their lives are forever altered by the intense, slow-burn love that blooms between them.

But Julian’s secret is both the most wonderful revelation Natalie could possibly imagine…and the very thing that could tear them apart.
