Broadway Beans by Karen Cimms!! <— I dunno how I missed this one when it went live this year (considering he’s a famous actor and she’s a “normal girl” – the ultimate fantasy and I’m all over that!!) but I’m so thankful that the author is today’s newsletter sponsor, ’cause it’s right up our comedy romance alley!! And that title made me go… hrmmm? But it’s actually pretty clever since that’s what the coffee shop is called, where she works. 😉
<— A totally unique look into a Hollywood romance story, with the delightfully-dreaded “in love with an actor” angst, fears, and drama that comes with being the “normal” wife of a movie star. Oh yes. There’s plenty there, but… it just goes a little further than that. A little deeper.
Plus, it’s from one of my absolute favorite authors (that tends to fully explore downward spirals and human mistakes and consequences of actions – comfort levels be damned – she tends to goes there!!), and with all of the love for it, I went in with GUSTO rubbing my hands together with glee!!
McKenzie made me snort with her reader question, and I was totally intrigued (plus, it fits with today’s reader-question “looking for lighthearted and humorous books” theme.
And while she soon remembered, and then let me know what the book was that she was looking for, I figured I’d post it here anyway, since some of us might be looking for this exact kind of book!
Do you remember the name of the book, or the author, who wrote the story about the seamstress who stuck the actor in his junk?
Michelle needs our book help! Hrmmm.. definitely intriguing and I could swear I read it too… like three or four years ago! Was does my head say “Scorpio” by Mia Sheridan? Now I gotta go look up my review. 😉
AHHH!! I meant “Stinger” but I was close. 😀 And here’s my book review, though, after reading my review, the details don’t quite match up. I’m not sure it’s the right guess, so I’m opening it up to you guys. Let’s make a list!
I’m trying to find a book and can’t remember the title! Help!
It’s about a hard-partying actor who I think has a bad heart or some medical condition. He goes back to find his long lost love who may be the mother of his kid.
Enter in a priest who’s always secretly loved her.
