Ahhhhhh WE LOVE mermaids!!!! So many of us wanted to be mermaids (or at least pretend we are when life gets overwhelming), and mermaids are near and dear to my heart. In fact, my friend R sent me a GORGEOUS knitted mermaid tail recently (SO cozy… it’s like a blanket… but it’s a full-on tail!!) but they’re special to me, also because of where I live.
Not only do we have the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park here (with the daily, “real-life mermaid” shows – in fact, even Paris Hilton trained to be a mermaid there, for her reality show way back when), but we ALSO have manatees here, which is suspected to be what Christopher Columbus and his men were seeing, and thinking were mermaids. *ahem* *blink blink*. 😉
