Single White Vampire (Argeneau)
I am getting the impression that this was the first published book in the series, despite it being #3 in the actual reading order. It seems this is the one that introduced the readers to the Argeneau clan, and was certainly quite a hit. I agree with the fans! It was extremely witty, and I fell in love with Lucern’s grumpy edge, and chuckled at Kate’s insistence in getting her way with Lucern, despite his extreme resistance. Subtlety is not part of Lucern’s manner, and he has no shame in not wanting to please those around him.

Part 4 of my trip to the Orlando Romantic Times Convention
It was Saturday morning, and I was up much too early considering how late I had gotten to bed, but my excitement for the book fair was enough to keep me wide awake and ready to go.

I arrived right on time, and couldn’t wait to seek out my favorite authors. As I walked into the large ballroom, setup with rows upon rows of tables, fully loaded with books, and an author behind each pile, I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Suddenly, that overwhelming feeling took hold of me again, as I turned in circles trying to decide where to head to first. All authors were seated in alphabetical order, and the public was even provided an author seating plan to help us find our favorites faster, but my mind literally went blank! Who was I looking for again? My absolute favorites that I knew by heart (including all of their titles) escaped me, as I realized I couldn’t even put two words together (this happens to me everytime I walk into a bookstore, too!)
Part 3 of my trip to the Orlando Romantic Times Convention
Ok, two events under my belt, and you’d think my nerves would be starting to settle. No way! I was eagerly looking forward to the Vampire Ball (which was coming up at 8pm), still completely disoriented due to my anxiety (you know, when you are excited and overwhelmed at the same time). It was all good, though, I managed to keep my wits about me, while I walked in a stupor with a silly grin on my face.
I made some friends with others that seemed to be in the same position as me (single at a HUGE party, where it seems everyone knows each other…) Who do you talk to, when you walk smack-dab into the middle of it?
Part 2 of my trip to the Orlando Romantic Times Convention
It was 4:30pm, and after the Paranormal Panel was complete, I was out on my own, in the middle of a bustling crowd, trying to figure out where to go next. Since my time was limited at the events, I wanted to make sure I could absorb as much as possible. My nerves were jumping, from excitement, (added to the fact that I had no idea what I was doing as I had not yet looked over the schedule of events, and I had not yet familiarized myself with the building).
I did find a line forming, and decided to get in. I was surrounded by fans, booksellers, and authors of all sorts. To my delight, I immediately recognized Richelle Mead, and headed towards her for a quick hello and snapshot! She was extremely friendly, and posed willingly. While in line, I looked over the Agenda I was given (in a bag full of goodies, including books, and previews), and realized I was headed towards the Awards Ceremony.
My trip to the Romantic Times Convention in Orlando
It was early Friday afternoon, and I managed to get off of work. It was my intention to go to the Saturday bookfair that the RT convention would be holding, however, I was hoping to partake in Friday’s activities as well. While I did arrive there late in the afternoon (3:25pm to be exact), there were still a couple of workshops and events that I could attend, before the highly anticipated “Vampire’s Ball” (a yearly party thrown by Heather Graham and her crew). The RT Staff was extremely accommodating, and ushered me into the workshop that I was hoping to arrive in time for.
