This one (book#1 in the “New Species” series) came highly recommended by my friend, Tina and I must admit, I loved it too. Interesting premise, awesome intensity between the two main characters, and some all-too familiar “social issues” were explored. And of course, he’s an uber-alpha. BIG TIME. Even more so then the alphas I’ve been enjoying lately, but there’s a reason why this one takes it a step above our “human” bad-boys. Because number “416” (later known as “Fury”) is not entirely human.

Laurann Dohner – New Species Series Reading Order
This one comes highly recommended by my friend, Tina. She brought it up quite a few times, so I think it’s time I look into it.
“I know we’ve all been reading the same books lately. Just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed this one very much and I’m onto the sequels now… I am totally loving the above series. It’s all about the New Species for me right now. Part human, part animal DNA – grrrr…”
“I’m officially recommending Laurann Dohner’s “New Species” series. 4 books with serious Alpha males and heart touching storylines that will make you question how we as humans react to things that are different and outside the norm (segregation, condemnation, and over the top redneck reactions.)”
Sherrilyn Kenyon – The League Series Reading Order
I love this series! The first book w/ Nykyrian – WOW – he’s still one of my favorite heroes!
As per the author’s website:
The League Assassins. Highly trained and highly valued, they are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption…
Welcome to a world where corrupt assassination politics dominate everything and everyone- because sometimes the cure really is worse than the illness. It’s kill or be killed. You’re either the hunter or the prey.
Book Review – The Host by Stephenie Meyer
The Host: A Novel
I think it’s quite obvious by now, from my recent posts, that I LOVED this book. At first, I found it slow to start, and wondered if I’d ever care about where the story was going. However, a quarter of the way through I found it hard to put down, and stayed up easily past midnight to continue reading. And then, there were the tears. The free-flowing, hardest I’ve ever cried while reading, honest to goodness, tears (that I unsuccessfully tried to hide from my husband, who raised an eyebrow at my rare condition). The puffy red eyes, streaky face, and sniffling were much too obvious, and could not be blamed on allergies 😉
Stupid Book Is Making Me Cry!
Damn Stephenie Meyer and her “The Host“!!! I can’t believe I’m crying again over a book (and one of hers, again, no less!)
Oh the shame…my husband was wondering why I was taking so long in the bathroom, and really, how long can I actually hide in there? I had to come out, and face the real world all puffy face and sniffling, where no amount of cold water could wash away the evidence.
What, do you think I’m actually giving away a spoiler? Fear not. The only spoiler I can guarantee is that you will cry. I don’t even know how it ends, since I can’t even reach the end yet, ’cause I’m sobbing too hard to be able to read anything!
