Love is Darkness (A Valerie Dearborn Novel)
I finished this one with a smile on my face. LOVED every minute of it. Never got bored, and never put it down. Nope. Start to finish I devoured it. AND!! I felt all of the emotion and turmoil and apprehension and… *ahem* other stuffΒ π as the story progressed. The connections intensified, the course of events were realistic (well.. hehe. As realistic as a world with vampires can be…), and ummm.. you know. There’s plenty of steamy in here. This is NOT YA. BUT!! The “steamy scenes” teased!! BIG TIME. Quite detailed… and yet… left you wanting more. Another series where the reader is tantalized plenty, and things are not just “we’re-already-in-love” handed to you.

Book Review – Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
Dragon Bound (A Novel of the Elder Races)
Suggested frequently as a must-read, I was excited to get started. Since it features a super dominant alpha male with a few jealousy and control issues, it was sure to strike a nerve, and I was certainly in the mood to be emotionally nervous π While I enjoyed it enough to finish it swiftly, it didn’t overwhelm me. Perhaps I’ve “been there, done that” too many times with this genre? Could it be that I read this book with different eyes than those who loved it?
Christine Feehan – Leopard Series Reading Order
Kelly highly recommends these:

Book Review – Vampire Mine by Kerrelyn Sparks
Vampire Mine
As much as I have loved most of the books in this series, on occasion, I hit one that just didn’t do “it” for me. This is one of them. It was “okay”, but not great. No butterflies for me.
I was looking forward to Connor’s story. From one book to the next, Connor would openly scowl at all the blossoming love around him, that tormentedΒ his already torturedΒ soul. I thought most of it had to do with Darcy.Β Remember Darcy, theΒ dying human that was caught in their vampire war that he ended upΒ “turning”? She seemed to hate him for it. She suffered the loss of her human life, and he suffered the guilt for taking it away from her completely. I secretly wondered if somehow… he might have loved her? But no. She already found her happily ever after, and while he was suffering, we find out in this one, thatΒ Darcy was not the mainΒ cause of his pain.
