YAY LESLIE M!!!! She’s been with us for years and years, chatting books, ranting and raving, and sharing her favorites. And here she is, checking in with her latest greatest finds. Thank you Leslie!!
Also, makes sure to check out our mini Leslie M book list below this one… it’s got all of her favorite book lists throughout the years (including audiobooks!!). She’s literally got her very own category on my blog called “Leslie Ms Favorites”
And now, without further ado, take it from here Leslie…
Leslie M: Hi Maryse and gang! I have some recs I’d like to share. 🙂
I just finished All Rhodes Lead Here by M. Zapata and loved it! Classic M Zapata slow-burn but NOT boring! h is starting over after bad breakup and trying to heal from childhood grief. H is grumpy and super swoony.
Maryse: Oooooooh Mariana Zapata is one of my absolute FAVORITE authors, and I’ve read soooo many, and yet I haven’t read this one. Thank you Leslie. I’m on it! 😀
Karen: Love her books
Michelle: Such a great book
Lisa: Loved it!
Holly: I loved it too!!

Happy Place by E. Henry. Beautiful story about friendship and 2nd chance romance that is set in my “happy place” (coastal Maine).
Maryse: Yeahhhh!! I keep hearing how awesome this one is. R. Renee LOVEDDDD that one so much. Oh… wait! I just found her old comment. 😀 Here it is:
R. Renee: I’m reading Happy Place and I’m obsessed with it. I guess I didn’t realize it but broken relationships that play out on page is catnip for me. I look back at several of my all time faves and this seems to be a theme. It’s making my soul happy while crushing it. Is there a better feeling than that? 🤣

If the Shoe Fits by J. Murphy. Do you remember Puddin’ by this author? This is similar (same body positivity message) but more adult. The h is post college and the story is Cinderella-ish with her being on show like The Bachelor. (which I don’t even watch or like but loved this book)
Maryse: I watched the movie (Dumplin) but I remember how many loved the book here. I DO love a good Cinderella story!!!
Michele G: It was cute…they did a nice job…it was of course different from the book. So for those of you who haven’t read the book yet and have watched the movie…read the book. It’s still better! There’s just something about being in the character’s mind…especially with this book.

Everyone is Beautiful by Katherine Center. Classic K. Center style with marital strife trope.
Maryse: Ooooooh marital strife is my jam! And R. Renee was loving it too!
R. Renee: I’m reading Katherine Center’s Everyone is Beautiful and loving it so far. It’s not terribly angsty (yet) but you can feel the underlying marital strife, and I love marital strife books!
Her stuff is very hit or miss with me, but this is definitely a hit.

Rootbound by T. DeWitt. Cowboy/slow-burn romance where h reunites with estranged family.
Maryse: I haven’t heard of that one yet, but I love the cover. Thank you Leslie!!

Once More With Feeling by E. Sussman. Both MCs are former teen pop stars/former couple but are now enemies working together. I loved this 2nd chance romance and the flashbacks to falling in love.
Maryse: Ohhhhh everyone loves her other book “Funny You Should Ask” and now I need to investigate these celebrity romances that she writes.
