Tasha J: Hey guys, just checking in to say, wow! Firefly Lane released on Netflix today (also book by Kristen Hannah) and its soooo addicting. I’m all in my emotions. Kind of wish I read the book first, but now I can stop. Total binge watch!

Maryse: OH YAYYYYYYY!!! I LOVE her, so I know I’ll love it. I’ll watch it tomorrow night while I prepare the Friday Finds. 😀 *claps with glee*

Cinfy: …just finished Firefly Lane by Kristen Hannah and wow… Just wow. Amazing story and impeccable writing. Highly recommend.

Gina: I have to give a little to Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah also because it’s the book that got me back into reading as an adult.

Shannon: Last book that made me cry was Firefly Lane!!! Cried and cried!!!!

Sheri: OMG…I totally forgot about Firefly Lane. That book had me bawling like a baby. I must add that to my list!

LisaC: Read it. Loved it. Slow burn goodness!

Eunice: For those of you who loved “Find Me Alastar,” I recently saw on TL Swan’s Amazon author page that she has a continuation story called “Save Me Alastar” listed as “Coming Soon”! No release date listed but this is excellent news that she plans to release a second book! I can’t wait!

Samantha: Just had to tell you the AMAZING book I have just read easily a five star read for me! Find me Alastar by T L Swan, you have to read this book!

Jenn: My suggestion would be Find me Alastar by T L Swan too-that one really hit me hard!

Kathy: Rock Bottom Girl by Lucy Score is on sale… If you need a few laughs, you will love this book. I have KU but still picked it up as I wanted to have it in my library!

Jan: I just read the new one by Lucy Score, Rock Bottom Girl. …some OTT funny scenes and lines.

MichelleS: …back to my bread and butter comfort reads. I am reading a Paranormal, called “Rejected (Shadow Beast Shifters, Book 1)”. I KNOW!!! It sounds so dang corny. But it’s free on KU, so I picked it up.

And I LOVE IT. Super over the top sassy Heroine, meets grumpy, moody, over the top “beast”…. a formula that I still like when the mood strikes me. If the writing works, the dialogue, and the story, then I am still in my happy place.

Debbie: Letters to the Lost, which has an interesting plot. The characters meet via a letter in a cemetery. I would rate it a 4, maybe 4.5. It is YA.

Hey, Super Bowl weekend? I didn’t know. 😜 School’s cancelled today. I still had to get up super early only to have that reason cancelled and went back to bed. Then, but of course, have had the cat consistently pawing and meowing at my door since. 🙄
I must inform that I’ve read Firefly Lane is pretty different from the book, so no ones expectations are let down. I still love the show, but I’m not comparing to the book cuz I’ve not read it. Lol. I think I’m on ep. 6 or 7. I stopped watching to catch up on reading. Finished one, started one. 😃

Yay!! I’m glad you’re loving it too. I’m not sure if I’ll watch more tonight or maybe a movie with a for sure ending or read. 🤔 I have the night off. Last weekend when we had time to ourselves for a day, I read The Ex Talk aloud to my hubs. All day, finished it too. 😂 I just couldn’t not. It was really good, btw, highly recommend. I was surprised by the ending and the conflict a little bit. When it happened and such. Little different than the typical formula I’m used to which is so nice to still be surprised every now and then.

I’m starting Firefly Lane tonight on Netflix!! One of my all time favorite books! Can’t wait!
I’m currently listening to In Five Years and its SO good on Audible!
Maryse, you need to read/listen to The Moonlight Child by Karen McQuestion.
Highly recommend! I couldn’t stop listening!

Okay, so I finished In Five Years. I need to process my feelings on it. It wasn’t what I was expecting, so…yeah, I just need to process some stuff. The writing was impeccable though.

BUT! I saw her other books listed at the end and realized I read When You Were Mine by her a few years back! It is YA, and I remember really liking it. Even if it was bittersweet. BECAUSE it was bittersweet.

Sorry, I wasnt being clear. Amy didn’t leave a spoiler. Im just curious as to what she is processing and expecting, but hard to say, I’m sure, because of spoilers.

I *was* kind of vague, wasn’t I?

I’ll just say that I didn’t connect with who I think I was supposed to connect with, so it was definitely a ME thing that kept me from loving it. I can see though how everyone else loved it as the writing was excellent, and the story was unique and unexpected.

Again, it was a me thing. Not the book’s fault at all.

*eeep* My BOTam box just came! I got Four Winds by Kristin Hannah and The Star Crossed Sisters of Tuscany by Lori Nelson Spielman. This month was full of heavy reads and I really wanted some love, it’s February for Pete’s sake, so I hope SCSOT gives me that feeling, I’ve heard really good things. I still have The Dating Plan by Sara Desai ready to be read too. I hope I can punch out a few good reads this month too, so I feel like I’m actually putting a dent in the things I own. 😂
Tomorrow and Monday are to be the coldest days we had in a long time. Well, the next 2 weeks really. 10-15 degrees. I feel bad letting the dog out. 🥶 I hope I don’t have to leave too much.

Lol! I like to try for a while and usually cancel. I’ve got more streaming subscriptions than anything and I watch them the littlest, but I like having options (especially w/the kiddos) so Disney is a must and Hulu, might as well bundle 😉, and HBO, I have tried a few times..

Autocorrect- it’s BOTM (book of the month). And I ❤️ It. I signed up a year ago. So, they feature 5 books per month and “add ons”. You choose 1 book from the BOTM choices and up to 2 add ons (can be BOTM choices or from the add on categories). The BOTM book is free and each add on is $10. Shipping is always free and referrals get you credits which gives you more free books. I think if you only get 1 book it’s free or $10- don’t quote me on that- depends on if you have a credit or not. They usually have a different genre for each book and some early releases as well. And you get little gifts for completing challenges or sticking with them for a while. And, you may skip the month if you don’t see anything you like, no charge.
I really look forward to seeing what surprises will come out each month and even the wait for shipping makes it a little thrilling somehow, lol. It got me back into reading hardbacks more. Not strictly, but I’m not near as against it as I was before. Feels a little nostalgic and simple, for me. And I get 3 published books for less than $30! ☺️

AND- I recently discovered some BOTM buy/sell groups or not even specifically BOTM, but groups on fb that have an abundance of physical books that you can swap/sell/buy and it makes me feel good, knowing I can get something back from them as well. Or swap even. Bc I’m not one to reread and here, no one wants to buy books and it’s a hassle (and sad for my books). So win/win.

I see that Winter Renshaw just released Enemy Dearest. I’ve just discovered her this year and love her writing. Trillion and The Cruelest Strange were great! I have her book Absinthe on my TBR list & will definitely be reading this one…
