It’s Amy’s turn on the TBR-LIST hot seat! And she’s sweatin’ it!

(P.S. For those just tuning in, bev posted a fun “TBR LIST QUIZ” that we can answer, to help us decide what to read next, and to help us decipher why these books are still on our TBR lists, in the first place! ;) )

Amy: Really, Bev? As if I didn’t have enough stress…*sigh* Oh well, you know I can’t resist your polls and “question lists” so I’ll be answering it. ;) Y’all know I have over 2000 unread books, and obviously it’s hard to remember and list the many that could be answers to Bev’s questions…so I’ll just list the first ones that pop in my head…

Amy’s Answers:

1. Book(s) you can’t believe you haven’t read yet? The Dark Elements series by Jennifer Armentrout, especially with how much I absolutely LOVED her Covenant and Lux series and how much Tessa loved the DE series.

2. Book(s) that the cover grabs your attention? Any cover that stands out among the others in my Kindle library. Bright colors, abstract pictures, simple covers like Eight Hundred Grapes: A Novel (currently on my TBR ;) ), covers that look like sketches (the original FCH cover) or are cartoonish (Badger!!!), covers that make my heart clench (yes, some have covers that make my heart do that), covers that are UNIQUE, basically anything that will make me stop when scrolling through my pretties.

3. Book(s) from buzz/review? Hmmm…usually the only reviews I read and take to heart are Maryse’s, and I have been thinking more and more about The Five Stages of Falling in Love and Every Wrong Reason (both of which she loved). I’m PMSing big time and stressed out to the point of constantly feeling on the verge of tears, so I think I need a good ugly-cry book to release those tears and I think those will do it for me!

4. Book(s) from book buddy book talk? Oh good lord…most of the books that are gushed about here.

5. Book(s) you are hesitant to read? Male-only POV. Because issues. *My* stupid issues.

6.) Book(s) in part because the author makes you feel you are in that locale? Well, the books aren’t out yet but the EIT spinoff books by Karina Halle because the EIT books were set in my neck of the woods. ;) Oh! And most of Tarryn Fisher’s books have taken place in cities near me as well. By the way, how FUN would it be to go as a group to the spooky places in the EIT books, or at least the ones that really do exist like the leper island???

7. Book(s) you really hope is what you think it is going to be? The Bronze Horseman and the Outlander books.

8. Book(s) that randomly pop into your head and you think yes I need to read that? The Driven series and the “ghost” series that Maryse and so many of you have gushed about…is it Downside Ghosts?

9. If your weekend read had to come from this list what 1 or 3 would they be? The Dark Elements series…it’s rainy and gloomy right now, and for whatever reason I love PNR books when the weather is like this. Or maybe the Outlander series.

10.) Last one. Should Maryse put her tbr away and watch the first episode of Sherlock and blog it? Ummmm, I plead the fifth as Bev has been on me to watch it as well. So…no comment. ;)

You, Jean & I really need to read The Bronze Horseman. I recently saw Eight Hundred Grapes mentioned somewhere else recently, I’ll have to take a closer look.
Have I mentioned Sherlock to you, Amy? Huh.

Maryse June 4, 2016 at 10:19 PM

It’s weird bev… I don’t think you have!!! Poor Amy’s gonna feel left out if she’s not part of the Sherlock peanut-fest. ;)

bev June 4, 2016 at 10:39 PM

Here Amy.
*pats sofa seat*
Let me tell you ALL about him.
Spoilers too.

Fabi June 5, 2016 at 12:25 AM

Amy did you end up reading The Dark Elements series? I keep forgetting how bad I want to read that one until someone mentions it again.

Lisa June 5, 2016 at 4:00 AM

Great questions Bev….as always, testing us (and getting a Sherlock mention in there somewhere :) )

And great replies Amy….I’m going to have a go at answering these….my tbr list is ridiculously large…..and Im embarrassed at some of the ‘must reads’ Ive squirreled away.

Rachel Higginson June 5, 2016 at 7:12 AM

Yay! I’m excited to be on your TBR!!! Let me know what you think of the books when you finish them!!! Thanks!!!

Cheryl June 5, 2016 at 8:48 AM

Amy, I haven’t read any of your number 1 either. I am drawn to the unusual cover too. Automatic read at least of the sample and then one-click. Number 3- those two are great books. I especially loved EWR, it’s angsty, but not quite as much as After I do; maybe because the MC’s still interact somewhat while separated. Outlander series is great, but so very LONG. Each book is around 800 pages and it still isn’t finished yet. You haven’t read the Driven series?! You need to move that up your tbr list. You will love broken, angsty Colton. Your angst-loving self will love this series!! ;)

Jean June 5, 2016 at 11:07 AM

Yes, The Bronze Horseman. And I need to read 5 Stages of Falling In Love and The Driven series is begging for me to read it! Love your list Amy!

Amy June 5, 2016 at 12:28 PM

Oh man, I always get anxiety when a list pops up with my name on it. No idea why, and silly really…but there it is.

*covers Bev’s mouth* NO! No spoilers. Silly woman. You know better. ;) I’ll get to it…at some point. And hey, don’t you have homework you should be doing??

Not helping, Maryse. :P You wanna talk peanuts? ‘Cause I have a WHOLE SACK full of those for YOU, my friend. :P Thank you for posting my answers. *hugs*

Fabi, I actually just opened it up on my NOOK yesterday! That’s where I have all of my JA books (Covenant, Lux, Wait For You series), because nostalgia and all. And I’m feeling super nostalgic lately for my YA PNR days. ;)

Aw Lisa, we are PROS at squirreling here! We get all of our pretties lined up, and then the lovely ladies here start gushing and throwing out recs, and then Maryse posts an awesome list (or five) or a crazy-good review, and then our TBRs are shot to sh!t. You are in like company here, my dear. :D

Amy June 5, 2016 at 12:42 PM

Rachel…will do! I loved your Star-Crossed series way back when, and I even have the indie nail polish collection to show for it. ;) Believe it or not (and the ladies here can believe it *snort*), I am looking forward to having a good ugly cry from your books. :D

Cheryl…*shakes head* I swear, you’re always a step ahead of me in the books on my TBR! No idea how you don’t squirrel with all the shiny pretties floating around here. But unique covers…right? Some of my all-time favorites happened because the cover caught my eye first.

Amy June 5, 2016 at 12:43 PM

Jean! When you’re done playing with the Gentry boys, we need to BR the Driven series. At some point. Good intentions and road to hell and all that. :P

Jeannine Colette June 5, 2016 at 1:54 PM

Crashing the party here – you HAVE to read The Bronze Horseman! I finally picked it up last month and was intimidated when my kindle said it would take 18 hours to read. I devoured it and every book in the series in two weeks and am still reliving moments. So much history, drama and passion rolled into one story. May not be the best buddy read due to its length but definitely read it (after you read Wild Abandon, that it ; )

MichelleS June 5, 2016 at 6:39 PM

Outlander & Bronze Horseman are easily my two favorite romance series reads. Just THE BEST. The characters, the heartache, the trials & tribulations. Nothing compares. Needs to be not only on your TBR, but your overall bucket list. Cannot miss out on this greatness.

Amy June 5, 2016 at 7:08 PM

Jeannine…we LOVE to crash each other’s parties around here! I have no idea why I’ve been putting off TBH because my lovely ladies around here adore it and know my taste and KNOW I will adore it, too. ;) And 18 hours?!? That’s going to be a lot of wine…

MichelleS…*sigh* There are going to be so many I-told-you-so’s flying around here from y’all when I finally read it. I just know it. Kinda like there was with On the Island. ;)

Tessa June 5, 2016 at 9:40 PM

*points to Dark Elements* The series is complete! I need someone to hash out who she picked in the end! Both men were awesome. And, to really cement it, I couldn’t vote for my fave because I liked them equally.

Cheryl, uh… I can’t say which to read first, Lux or Covenant. They are both that good. I prefer Covenant due to it being paranormal, while quite a few preferred Lux due to it being Sci-fi..

Fabi June 5, 2016 at 9:44 PM

Ooohhh now I remember why I haven’t read it yet. It’s a triangle. I don’t like those *waggles brows* (unless I’m reading erotica, then, anything goes)
