It’s Shaleen’s turn!! She’s my resident “Blasts from our Book Past” enthusiast and I always love hearing which ones brought back some memories for her, too!
Shaleen: I always enjoy the blast from the past, pure nostalgia.
Shaleen: I never miss a post…infact reading about your new purchases, recipes and how you are always open to trying new things (I wish I had such an exciting life) and everything else (new book releases and recommendations ) makes my day. Lotsa love💖I swear I be on this blog like Joe Goldberg waiting for my next fix👀😂😉
Tee hee!! I love her so much, and I’m thrilled she’s with us (commenting since 2020, and I always look forward to them!!)
Hello Maryse. I hope you are well. Wishing you and your family a happy, blessed festive season. I wish only positive things for you in the coming year. You are the best.
Okay, so 2021 wasn’t so great for me in terms of reading books. I tried! Anyhow, if there is one author that did it for me this year, it is definitely Natasha Knight. I loved all her books. This list is very biased because obviously I have not read all the books and I tend to go more for the dark romance genre.
Besides the first book in the list (which is my favorite of the year and in my top 5 all time) the others are in no particular order. I may have added my two cents comments on here as well. Sorry in advance.
1.) The Finish Line by Kate Stewart <— This whole series was EVERYTHING. Kate Stewart was genius and to put together this last book in such a short time and bring the series to a close in such a brilliant way. Hats off. I loved our heroines character development (it is something very rare in books, but this one I lived, because I felt everything she was feeling) And These men!!! THESE MEN!!! Uggh, I loved them all. I was obsessed. I was rooting for Sean (don’t hate me). I am still in mourning.
Shaleen: I am so excited.Going to read the finish line ASAP!!! I cannot even review this trilogy because there are just no words to describe how this book made me feel.
I just completed The Finish Line… it was everything… have tissues on standby. Enjoy😘
The Ravenhood trilogy… damn, there will never be enough words, ever, to describe the experience of it. Kate Stewart gained a fan in me after this one. Loved her interview as well.
2.) To Have and to Hold Duet by Natasha Knight
Loved, loved, loved this book.
3.) A Vow of Hate by Lylah James
As far as Alphaholes go, Killian is my fave of 2021.
4.) Sovereign Sons by Natasha Knight & A Zavarelli
This series was everything I could want and more. These two are the best authors in this genre, no doubt.
5.) Stroke of Midnight by K. Webster
This one had my heart in my mouth at the end of every part. To continue this series with different authors is genius. But yeah, Team Constantine!
6.) Dont Kiss the Bride by Carion Cole
This one was so realistic, I loved it. It was most definitely refreshing from the normal arranged marriage trope.
7.) Dante’s Vow by Natasha Knight
This women went and brought two series together *ahem*Jericho Saint James. Pure genius. It is definitely what the readers want. Kudos to great story telling.
8.) All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata
Her name is enough to know that the book is good.
I was introduced to TL Swan this year (thank you Maryse, I saw all the comments on Mr Garcia and had to read it).
So this book has a lot of flaws, some of the plot don’t even make sense, but I enjoyed it. It was definitely steamy.
That book cover was hot too😉
10.) The Invitation by VI Keeland
I love anything VI Keeland writes.
So special mention to VI Keeland and Penelope Ward. Their books never disappoint. I know what to expect and I still love it.
Alexa Riley, you guys never fail to entertain.
That’s my list, I know it sucks, but next year is a new year with new experiences and I hope to read as many books as possible. Also I missed reading Colleen Hoover this year, so definitely anticipating her next.
Thank you for a wonderful year Maryse. God Bless. 🙏
