Cindi is looking for recommendations for “texting romance” books. Have any favorites that you’d recommend?
She asks:
Hi Maryse,
I love to read texting books…example Drunk Dial …guy or woman text wrong person and start up a texting relationship…love these types of books. Do you have a listing?
LOVE your blog..and have been following you for YEARS!!
Thank you!!!
Let’s make one!!! 😀
Caroline: I loved Lucky Number by Jennifer Lazaris. She texts racy lingerie pictures by mistake to a professional hockey player who just happens to be her crush. He’s a single dad and not looking for romance but can’t forget about the girl in the pictures.
April: The Trouble with Quarterbacks by R.S Grey. New release/ KU. So good.
Lisa M: Just finished The Trouble with Quarterbacks by R.S. Grey. A recent new release. Loved it!!! I was smiling, laughing, crying!! Love love love HEA’s. All around feel good book!!
It reminded me of The Wall of Winnipeg & Me & Hands Down!! Love feel good books!! Oh the weekend is coming up!! Add it to your list!! Now I need to check out other books by R.S Grey, I know I have read a few already!!
Danielle: Dirty Mother by Lani Lynn Vale! Lots of texting and it was great!
Katie: Accidental Tryst– Natasha Boyd
marina: I have been on a rom-com kick. Just finished Accidental Tryst which was really awesome.
Mary: I loved that book
Shannon: Accidental Texting by Kimberly Montague my favorite
Angie: One of my favorite accidental texting books is an older one, but it is a good one by Kimberly Montague called… “Accidental Texting” Ha! It’s the perfect book for this list/page.
It’s about a woman, Morgan, who runs & owns a B&B. She receives a text message from a number she doesn’t know basically apologizing and stating that she meant nothing to me. She replies back that he has the wrong number, which he, Sean, does not believe. Her friend gets the phone and continues to reply pretending to be the person he was originally texting. So the texting continues. With another confession later from Morgan stating that Sean has the wrong number. Which then leads to Morgan giving Sean her website address for the B&B in hopes to convince him that she is not who he thinks she is.
Once he finally believes her the texting still continues. Sean eventually sends his assistant to help Morgan with her B&B (and to also check her out). It’s soon revealed that the guy texting is none other than Hollywood’s A-list actor Sean freaking Wilder (you’ll get the reference if you read the book) when he shows up at her front door to introduce himself. Once this happens all chaos ensues.
Natasha: Four Letter Word, J Daniels.
Melinda: I loved four letter word. Such a great book . Very similar to KA.
Nay: I’m really enjoying it and the hero DOES remind me of KA!
Lisa: Im reading Four Letter Word. The H Brian could have stepped straight out of a KA book.
Nay: The book I just read, Four Letter Word (which I really enjoyed–super sexy with a decent amount of angst), is a perfect example of a book that’s in a series of ‘standalones’, however, I would have hated to miss the awesome set-up and banter between the H and h of the next book, Hit the Spot (which is also being advertised as a standalone) if I hadn’t read Four Letter Word first, because they interacted a lot in it. Does that make sense? lol
Jennifer: TEXT by Cambrian Hebert
Cindi: immediately went and clicked on this..lol..bought it in 2015..reread time🥳
Jaybie: I’m reading Troublemaker by Kayley Loring. It has texting in it. It’s a fun book.
April: Just My Type by Tara Sivec. It was hilarious!
Brei:
- Let’s Get Textual by Teegan Hunter
Leslie M: next time you want a fun one, I would recommend Let’s Get Textual by Teagan Hunter. It was funny, sexy and swoony. Perfect for a “feel good” read. 🙂 …hilarious, sexy AND had a goat!!!!
Michele G: Let’s Get Textual by Teagan Hunter. It was awesome in audio…I highly recommend!
Victoria: Let’s get Textual by Teegan Hunter was great!
Chris: i second and third this book!!! I loved it!!!
- Stay by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
- #Starstruck by Sariah Wilson
- Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram
- Twist by Kylie Scott
Terri: These aren’t all text, some are letters or tweets, or notes on whiteboards but as other forms of communication. I have read several of the ones listed and have enjoyed them all, and just added some new ones to read!
- Alpha Mail by Brenda Rothert is a rom-com.
- Mean Crush by K.L. Bryce,
- A Lover’s Lament by K.L. Grayson and
- Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland,
- Dear Ava by Ilsa Madden-Mills,
Mary Ann: Maryse I am really suprise that no one had mentioned how good the book Dear Ava is! I am one to avoid YA but this book grab my attention. A horrific event happened on a keg party to the heroine. In beknownst to her, the same event affected one guy hugely. At the end, I felt like there is still goodness in this world.
Shara: Just finished Dear Ava. Loved it. It has all the feels. So good!
Tessa: Dear Ava was so good. It kept me going and absolutely loving every moment, and just so many times wanting to hug the main character. It had that much angst.
Stacie: Number Neighbors by Emma hart
Dottie: I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella.
Tasha J: Sophie Kinsella’s I’ve Got Your Number (funny, love the back n forth texts) …My first and favorite book I’ve read of hers.
Rosemarie: I’ve Got Your Number was so much fun!
Alicia: I love Sophie Kinsella’s books. I’ve read them all. They are so funny. You would probably like “I’ve Got Your Number.” That was a good one.
Jeanie V: Huge Sophie Kinsella fan! I’ve got your number is one of my very favorites from her! All her books are lol funny!
Charissa:
- I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
- The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
Cindi: Thank you all..I found at least 5 I hadn’t read..Thank you!! ❤❤
