WE WANT BEACHSIDE ROMANCE!! π I’ve received the SWEETEST funnest email (from Lynn. Hi Lynn!!), and she’s stuck on THE ROSEMARY BEACH SERIES by Abbi Glines. She re-reads it over and over again. She needs more and wants that older YA/college/new adult feel and of course, she wants the beach.
She asks:
Stuck and canβt get out!
Dear Maryse,
This has never happen to me… either I am sick, or mentally ill, or I am facing my Sr. Years already stuck in cement.
I canβt seem to leave a certain series of books to move on to another author. I have too many other ebooks that havenβt been read but I canβt get out of this stupid hole. Do you have a couple of terrific seriesβ or book(s) that will grab my brain at the beginning and will help me get over this βstuck in the mud spotβ in my reading.
I think I am missing my beach and growing up period. I still live in So. Cal but no longer at the beach. It is an older group of booksβ¦.
ABBI GLINES AND THE ROSEMARY BEACH SERIESβ¦I seem to keep going back to it.
Obviously their situations as young people relates to me… either sociological or psychological. I used to teach college Maryse..I shouldnβt have this happen. roflmao.
Got something for me to grab onto?
Thank you in advance.
P.S. If you haven’t read the Rosemary Beach series, get started!! Abbi Glines β Rosemary Beach Series Reading Order:
Mandy: A favorite!
Kirsten: Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines. Beachside setting, hot, hot, hot! πππππ
Michelle: I just read her new one βSMOKESHOWβ and LOVED IT!!!
Tracy: It is one of my favourite reads abbi glines
Have suggestions?
Here’s what we have so far:
Courtney: Elizabeth O’Roark has a new one with beach/surf scenery. Β
The Summer We Fell
Maryse: Oh and everyone is loving that one, too!!! YES!
Lynn: I just finished listening to the audio of The Summer We Fell by Elizabeth Oβ Roark after seeing it recommended by a few of your followers and it was a fantastic emotionally driven story. The dual narration was also very well done! It was my first introduction to the authors storytelling and I cannot wait to read more from her.
Sandra: Maybe the Butler Cove series by Natasha Boyd. It’s a series I like to reread.
Malisa: Eversea by Natasha Boyd-Would highly recommend as a beach read!
Leslie M: I liked Eversea, but really liked Forever Jack. Iβd also recommend All That Jazz.
Cheryl: Oh yeh, Iβve read Eversea and Forever Jack and loved them!!
DG: I think my name should be Jazz! Total fangirl for Jack Eversea! Just finished Forever Jackβ¦and I loved it! Totally a sweet soulmate kinda loveβ¦gets me everytime! Take a hottie actor, a hometown sassy girl, off the charts attraction and yeah, it got me. Loved the slow build of the relationship, just enough angst to shake it up and (call me crazy butβ¦) great all out sob fest. Not sure why but I enjoy a good break down, next to hysterical moment if appropriate.
Tasha J: I actually grabbed Tessa Baileyβs… It Happened One Summer, late last night and was so absorbed, I read until 3am and am 40% through. Havenβt done that in sooo long. Itβs good so far! Had me smiling and chuckling throughout.
This is so fun! Iβm imagining a socialite like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as the sister just based off that show The Simple Life from back in the day, well, my day. Lol! Not in looks, just in what sheβs known for and the situation theyβre put in. And the setting, a small beach town with proud people and fishermen who work hard and do a dangerous job and the h very set in his ways & H do not get off to a good start. Perfect summer read.
Audra: I feel like Melanie Harlow has a beachy theme as well.
Shalyn: Say you swear by Meagan brandy
Jennifer: Itβs not new adult and college but some are younger couples. But Melody Grace’s Sweetbriar Cove and Beachwood Bay series are fantastic and there are a lot of them.
Laura: Sinners of saint series by LJ Shen has this feel but is more adult like and every book is amazing and carryβs on with a spin off x
DG: I have SO missed my Sinners of Saints boys! I fell so hard for Vicious and Deanβ¦I can only imagine how awesome Trent will be! Diving in! Woohoo!!!
Meme: so worth the read!
Maryse: Sea Breeze Series by Abbi Glines (she’s working at the beach as a maid for a family on the beach)!!
Athena: Sea Breeze series.. It starts off with Breathe which introduces you to Jax Stone a rocker who likes to take some time off and stay in Sea Breeze Alabama where he meets Sadie White who is just your gorgeous but poor girl next door. Needless to say boy meets girl boy and girl fall in love but not without a few obstacles are overcome. You also meet several other characters that each get their own stories throughout the series
Marcy: My all time favorite book boyfriend is still Cage York from Abbi Glineβs Sea Breeze series! I love him!!
Sarah: I highly recommend the Sea Breeze series. All are awesome!
Maryse:
Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover. She arrives at her father’s beach house and gets to know the kids there (where they end up hanging out a lot). Loved it! Here’s my book review.
Racena: Heart Bones. You all will fall fast for Beyah and then youβll fall again for Samson! Such a great YA read.
Heather: The Sunshine Sisters series by Jennifer Probst – A great read for the beachβ¦ “Love on Beach Avenue”!
Mony: Lawless by Tracey Ward – A fantastic little bookβ¦set on ocean beach with a laidback surfer vibe. Lovely slow burn story about a popular champion surfer dude who gets together with a quiet pianist dudette in their beach home town. Some angstβ¦and lots of sweet & mellow. Also made me remember how the beach gets me feeling all zen. Smell of coconut sun tan lotion, warm sun & sandβ¦add a bit of ocean waves. Ahhβ¦Mojitoβ¦with fresh mint leavesβ¦the water droplets from the glass dripping on my fingersβ¦ π
