Reader Confession – Kathy has a thing for single dad book-heroes…

Maryse… daydreaming about “single dad” book heroes. Like the one in “Wrecking Ball” (although he’s actually the uncle… but still the guardian). *sigh*

Kathy confessed. She loves a certain kind of book-hero. And I can confess with her. I’m a sucker for this one, too!

Plus, I’ve found us some reader-recommendations for these VERY books. 😉

I am a sucker for single or widowed Dad romances. I guess I like to see men in stories who are vulnerable and have a soft spot for their children. It is hard for me not to one click if I see that blurb!”

Reader Confession – MichelleS confesses her “Book Catnip”…

It’s reader confession time!!! This is Maryse’s guilty-pleasure face… 😉 Er… is it weird that I’m talking about myself in the third person?

First off… LOL!!! I love the book-terms we come up with here. bev bought us “Catnip“, meaning that certain THING about a story, or blurb that will have us crazy in one-clicking delight, eager to roll in, er, I mean devour our newfound guilty-pleasure. Probably roll in it, too. LOL! 😛

MichelleS’s reaction/confession (and the discussion it sparked) made me laugh so hard!

Funny Book Confession… Why I’m a book hoarder.

I love books!!!! MORE BOOKS!!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!

I thought it might be fun to do a weekly “reader confession” post. So many of us have funny reading and book quirks, and we might think we’re alone in our “special book needs” but I can assure you, we’re not.

In fact, every single time I see someone confess a book-related issue of sorts, so many jump in, ecstatic that they’re not the only ones doing the same thing. Needing the same thing. Wondering the same thing.

Some don’t even realize it UNTIL another reader mentions it, and the bond strengthens! Yep. Even though we’ve found our tribe due to our love of books, we have so much more in common than we think. read more

Paper Books vs Ebooks – What’s your preference?

Reading “old school” smells so gooooooood!!! 😛

When I started my adulthood “reading frenzy” (right after I read Twilight) I couldn’t get enough of books (still can’t!), and this was back when I was in “print book” mode. Hard covers, or paper back, I went on weekly book-shopping sprees, and they started piling up! My book shelves were full, and everything and anything became a makeshift book-storage unit.

But my issues weren’t just at the increasing book-stacks. I didn’t have enough bookmarks, most of my paperbacks were riddled with little highlight-stickers everywhere. Tabs sticking out of every one of my favorite “parts” and trying to neatly stack books loaded in rainbow strips became a struggle. read more

Scenes or moments that will turn a book around…

You know when you’re reading a book, and you’re enjoying it (or maybe you’re not) but you’re intrigued enough to stick with it? Whether it be because of adamant recommendations, or that “feeling” that something big is about to happen that will totally turn this book around, or “make” the story, you are in it for the long haul!

And then it happens. That *thing* that takes the story (or writing) from eh (or even good!)… to OMG EVERYONE HAS TO READ THIS!!! read more
