Lauren Blakely – Big Rock Series Reading Order

By 2 Comments

Okay to be fair, all of the books in this “series” are standalones. I don’t even think it has an official “series name” as of yet, BUT since each book features each other’s characters, I’m going with it. 😉 I’m giving it a temporary name. LOL!!

Described as “very sweet, fun, sexy and safe…” plus it’s the GUY’S POV, and so many are loving ’em!

Cheryl: The Rock, WOW. WHAT. A. COVER!!!!

Pia: Finished Big Rock a few days ago. A very sweet, fun, sexy and safe read – no angst here. But Lauren Blakely when she is best :-) read more

Justin Cronin – The Passage Trilogy Reading Order

By 2 Comments

YAY ME!!! The trilogy is complete, it sounds right up my dark and creepy alley, and my scary-loving fellow readers (and even some of my non-horror friends) right here HIGHLY recommend it!

Jan130: Justin Cronin is a terrific writer. I’m not normally a horror fan either, but to me these books are more adventure/ sci-fi/ post-apocalypse genre than horror. I’ve re-started The Passage and am fully hooked again already. Wow. That wonderful feeling of diving into an incredible, memorable book is coming over me again. There is NOTHING IN THE WORLD like reading a really good book. I’m a happy addict. Sigh …. read more

Stephen King – The Bill Hodges Trilogy Reading Order

By Leave a Comment

I know this isn’t a romance series, but y’all know my love for creepy stuff too, and I couldn’t help but post this trilogy now that it’s complete. The reviews are awesome, and considering this is Stephen King (tried-and-true for us horror freaks), I think this one is a no-brainer if you’re in the mood to lose yourself in some scary!

About book #1

The stolen Mercedes emerges from the pre-dawn fog and plows through a crowd of men and women on line for a job fair in a distressed American city. Then the lone driver backs up, charges again, and speeds off, leaving eight dead and more wounded. The case goes unsolved and ex-cop Bill Hodges is out of hope when he gets a letter from a man who loved the feel of death under the Mercedes’s wheels… read more

The R. Lee Smith Book List

By 22 Comments

I’ve been hearing about this author for a few years now, namely for her VERY DARK book called Heat, that has been on my TBR list… just waiting for me to stop being a chicken and dive in. 😉 Tee hee! All dark/paranormal/sci-fi/eerie-sounding but with incredible intensity and you’ll fall hard for some of her heroes.

But there are a few here that have recently discovered her other books and have gone absolutely CRAZY for them. My friend Sali said:

“If you’re in a sci-fi-ish sort of mood, take a little look at this author!!! Don’t know who they are … Male/female etc lol but OMG the character development & world building is MIND BLOWING!!!!! Anyway. Just thought I would share the sci-fi/dystopian love with U lol Seriously Maryse….. There is something really special in this authors writing. & I don’t say that lightly.” read more
