Happy Easter everyone!!! I have a feeling it’s been a busy weekend for everyone (what with the tax weekend, and the easter eggs hunts) but the news still abounds! In fact, I made us a little list of the extra-good stuff! π
Like…
Simon & Schuster reminds us about this show TONIGHT ON STARZ!!!!! P.S. Based on THIS BOOK: The White Princess (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels Book 5).Β OMG I LOVE THIS COVER and if I can remember right, I read that it’s the “Game of Thrones” for women. Oooooooooh I LOVE the sound of that.
“Don’t miss it!Β #TheWhitePrincessΒ premieres onΒ @SuperChannelΒ tonight at 9:00PM EST!Β https://ow.ly/E5DR30aPTUU“
Colleen Hoover has just announced that she had to cancel her upcoming play for her book It Ends with Us: A NovelΒ (P.S. I LOVED this book!! In case you missed it, here’s my review). She says:
“It is with great regret and sadness that I must announce IT ENDS WITH US the play has been cancelled.
Believe me when I say this decision did not come easily and is out of our control… (you can read more here)”
Max Monroe has a new book coming out and Grey found it for us saying: “So, Max Monroe is releasing a new book on the 25th, Dr OB. Iβm excited. I love themβ¦ LOL!”
Β Eeeeeep!!! I just looked it up and I found it!! Not on preorder yet, but we can play with the details. π They say:
Dr. OB will be a LIVE release on April 25, 2017.
This book is a standalone romantic comedy that is part of the St. Luke’s Docuseries Novels. And believe us, you’re going to love these guys. Especially, Will.**Dr. OB blurb**
Itβs just a docuseries about your career as an OB/GYN, they said.Β It wonβt interrupt your life during or after filming, they said.Β It is a great opportunity for the hospital and your practice, they said.Well, theyβthe television executives who seem intent on ruining my career and personal life with a fair number of creative libertiesβlied.
Now Iβm stuck dealing with the consequences of believing them.Β What devotion Iβd hoped to earn in respect, Iβve instead received in patients flashing me seductive smiles and flirtatious winks during their exams.Β Howβs a guy supposed to convince the most perfect woman heβs ever met that heβs not as much of an idiot in real life as he appears to be on camera?
With all of the showβs side effects taking root like parasites, itβs going to take a lot to persuade Melody Marco to be anything more than my new nurse.Β But I canβt get her out of my head.Β I want her.
Good thing Iβve never been one to back away from a challengeβ¦
Get ready, Melody.
The doctor is in.

LOVE β€οΈ LOVED the first two! I CANβT WAIT!!!!” So I researched… and here’s the author’s very own sneak peekΒ of “The Time in Between”. π She says:
Kristen Ashley: “Hmm…I might have sent this in final to be formatted.”
Jan:Β Oooh goody. I liked the Magdelene books too. Slow, drawn out, but beautiful love stories. *excitedly goes to check out latest KA news*
Dot Hutchison has a new psych-thriller release!!!! Kim found me THIS awesome news about a book #2 sequel of a book many of us buddy-read together (remember this one??!!!! The Butterfly Garden (The Collector Trilogy Book 1)Β <—Β How could we forget?!) She said: “I know Butterflies in the Garden wasn’t your absolute favorite. I gave it a solid 4. BUT, the author has a second book releasing soon.” And here it is!!!!Β The Roses of May (The Collector Trilogy Book 2)Β <— DON’T READ THE BLURB unless you’ve read book #1. πΒ P.S. Here’s my review of book #1: “The Butterfly Garden”. *shudders*
Kylie Scott released her latest cover for her upcoming novel,Β Chaser (Dive Bar)Β (she says it’s her favorite cover so far!!). He’s a bad boy player and she’s a single pregnant-about-to-be-mom…
Starting over in a small town, JeanΒ is determined to turn her wild lifestyle around and be the kind of mother she always wished sheβd had. Since local bar owner and all round hottie, Eric Collins, is now determined to steer clear of her pregnant self, it should be easy. When she goes into labour during a snow storm and her car slides on some ice, itβs Eric who comes to the rescue…
Amy Harmon has a sequel too!!!!Β The Queen and the Cure (The Bird and the Sword Chronicles Book 2)Β will be coming out in just a few weeks, and she’s released the cover and blurb!! P.S. Here’s my review of book #1 (The Bird and the Sword)
There will be a battle, and you will need to protect your heart.

Mia Asher is tempting us!!!! She has a new book coming out called “Love Me in the Dark” (not up for preorder yet, but here’s theΒ HOLY MOLY HOTNESS coverΒ & blurb!!) and it’s coming out April 23rd! She teases us with…”I look at you and dare to hope.” And then THIS (OMG!!!!!):
When he touched me, my body sang–
my soul came alive. But I belonged to another man,
and he didn’t want to let me go.
Kim Holden‘sΒ Bright SideΒ is super-bargain priced right now. And I must insist!!!!!!!!!Β In case you haven’t read it yet and haven’t discovered what all the fuss is about, this INCREDIBLE tear-jerker is one I think you should read it now!! (P.S. Here’s my review)
Me first!
I haven’t read The White Princess specifically, but when I was in my teens, I went nuts for books like that. I read all sorts that Victoria Holt under the pseudonym Jean Plaidy. I couldn’t get into The White Queen, since that Queen was quite hated historically. Maybe this one will be a bit better. I’m not approaching it hating the main character.
This looks so good I’m kicking myself that I don’t have Starz right now. Wondering if I should just read the book tonight instead. π
Fictional books about real people has never been a favorite.
I know a lot of people love her books though.
Yeah, someone said that there was supposed to be an Outlander teaser on Starz tonight too??
Thanks for posting about the new Max Monroe book, Maryse, you’re the best! Looks like this is the first of 3… There will be Dr. ER and Dr. Neuro, so obviously, these are RIGHT in my wheelhouse. *Squee* I would love to get tapped to do an ARC read of these!!
Yay Grey!! Another series reading order to dedicate a post to!!! π
I’ve been checking out Lauren Gilley’s Facebook page and her new Dartmoor MC book is coming out in May – not sure of the exact date. It has a cover now, so it can’t be too far away, although it’s not up for preorder on amazon yet. It’s called American Hellhound and it focusses on Maggie and Ghost, including how their relationship began. I can’t wait!! I loved Tastes Like Candy from last year, and I’m hoping this one’s as good. Apparently Ms Gilley’s going to do Fox’s story too, to come out in 2018. Goodie!!
Ooooh that IS good news Jan. Okay I added it to my list for next week’s news. π
I think as far as real historical people, my favorite was A Court of Love by Jean Plaidy. It was the story of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Very intriguing. It all depends on if I like the person or at least find them intriguing. π
PS, tomorrow… FALLEN CREST HOME!!!
Eeeeeeep TESSA!!!! YES!!!!! I have to do my early bird list and that will be the star of the show!
Yeah Tessa I read a lot of books like that in my teens as well. Jean Plaidys, Anya Setons etc. Remember ‘Katherine’? I really loved that book. “Thou will get kings though thou be none.” Still gives me shivers. But I don’t tend to read that genre much now.
I don’t have Starz, but I would watch The White Princess if I had the chance.
I didn’t read that one. They did fill a mood, though. I must have read A Court of Love five or six times at least. I’ll look Katherine up.
Speaking of author news, Colleen Hoover just cancelled the IEWU play in Sulphur Springs. I’m so crushed. And of course I had two nights in a hotel that are nonrefundable. π
I just saw that today. π What a bummer… I LOVE that book so much.
R… I’d go just to go to her bookstore. It seems so cool in there. A signed-book heaven!
Dang it, R. You’ll just have to take a mini holiday there anyway. Is there much to do in Sulphur Springs?
Tessa, ‘Katherine’ by Anya Seton is about a real woman from (I think) the 1300s who became the mistress of the Duke of Lancaster then later married him. She was a commoner (I think) but their children (IRL) became the ancestors of most of the British royal family. I remember her brother-in-law was the poet Geoffrey Chaucer (who wrote The Canterbury Tales). It was a beautiful (and true) story, but I’m sure the writing style would feel bit old-fashioned now. And even though they were a pretty raunchy couple (she was reputed to be extremely beautiful and he was a bit of a playa) I’m sure there was no explicit stuff in the book and plenty of euphemism LOL. It’s a pretty well-known and well-respected ‘fictionalised biography’, though.
I’m making my husband go. The bookstore alone is worth the drive and the restaurant next door makes the best hurricanes I’ve ever had, so there’s that LOL. But I wonder how many other people got stuck with hotel rooms. Or even worse, flights! It would be awesome if CoHo would put together something for ticket holders as a backup, like a signing or a party or something.
I’m guessing a hurricane is a cocktail?
Yes! And this particular one is YUMMY! I’d probably make the 5 hour drive just for that π and they have really good fish and chips too…and now I’m hungry!
Is it wrong that I looked at the Mia Asher news and thought… hmmm, maybe this is the follow up to Arsen?? *shrug* what? Come on… someone else had to be thinking it too, right?
Oh yes definitely. I love her bookstore. I also found these 2 marvelous Sulphur Spring must-sees the hubs and I have on our agenda!
The Southwest Dairy Center & Museum with big cow statues! And America’s Only Public Bathrooms with See Through Walls! I’d link, but then I’d go to moderation jail π
*gulp* see through walls? wtah?
I’m totally going, probably after a few hurricanes, and I’ll take lots of pics! https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g56726-d6434528-Reviews-America_s_Only_Public_Bathrooms_with_See_Thru_Walls-Sulphur_Springs_Texas.html
One link at a time is ok! Here’s the Dairy Museum! https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g56726-d3860718-Reviews-Southwest_Dairy_Center_Museum-Sulphur_Springs_Texas.html
There’s no need to be jealous guys. Everyone’s welcome! π
OKaaaayy. Whew! You see OUT not IN!!!!! What a relief!!!! (Yeah, my mind went there………)
Really? Well that’s not nearly as exciting.
Huh. The big cow is cute. (I know, but hey, I live in a dairy area.) We have *big* things in Australia too – the Big Pineapple (and you can go inside!), the Big Banana, the big Murray Cod (a type of river fish) etc etc. Kinda kitsch, but people still love ’em.
I joke, but I’m actually excited. I think it’s going to be goofy fun!
Especially the toilets ……. :O
