Mafia, criminals and bad-guys galore in today’s list! But I think we’ve got something for everyone on here. π In fact, so many of ’em that I couldn’t help but post my blurb-jolt mini “highlights” list (below).
In case some of you missed it… I’m still reading my own brand of “bad-guy” (FearlessΒ <—Β that gritty biker book that is over 800 pages long and put many in our crew in a happy reading-frenzy). I should be done within the next day or so, and nope!! I haven’t squirreled yet. π It IS good. The writing is amazing, it IS gritty and the romantic tension is *whooooooo* right now. Trouble… And Paula just finished it and agrees: “Finished Fearless and loved it β 5* for me and now on to the second one..”
YAY!!! Okay I’m done today’s list (here it is!!) and now it’s time for me to sink back into my bad-ass biker world! π
A few blurbs are giving me that coveted *jolt*? EASY!!!Β ESPECIALLYΒ RicochetΒ (OMG… his wife is murdered so he exacts revenge by kidnapping the murderer’s wife… and you know how THAT goes). πΒ CONTRITEΒ (it’s back on the list ’cause #2 (Reprisal)Β is now out, and the fact that her husband is hiding something worries me big time. In a “good book” way). Oh and bothΒ HitchedΒ andΒ WhippedΒ have my attention big time. A Vegas series (standalones I believe and in the first, she drunkenly marries a stranger in Vegas – I always LOVE those!! And in the 2nd, her new guy roommate is a Vegas maleΒ stripper. YAY!! I love those too). *snort* π And of course JezebelΒ is back on this list ’cause I squirreled from it before even starting it, for FearlessΒ up there, and I’m DYING to see what the fuss is about with that twist. I. Can’t. Wait!!! Oh and don’t even get me started on how funΒ Calamity JenaΒ sounds.
*sigh* I think I’m going to need to take those “learn to read super-fast” courses… I want to read TOO many books.
So… pretty much the gist of it today? This list appears to ROCK.
P.S. Let me know if Iβm missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

Brought to our attention as a “reader question” who was looking for this title, and now I just gotta read this. She finds her mobster bf cheating on her, so she gets drunk and buys a house in Scotland online to get away from him. When she get’s there, it’s a mess! LOL! But… she’s even more of a mess, it seems. “Since Jenaβs arrival in town, Officer Matt Donaldsonβs workload has tripled. The woman is a menace, gorgeous yes, but definitely a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Her only discernible skill seems to be causing chaos wherever she goes…“

It is some of the letters and answers she gave writing an advice as Dear Sugar. Its a great book. Beautiful and sad , heartbreaking and hopeful, fierce. Any one of the letters was on making the decision to have children or not. I canβt remember exactly what she said but she referred to a poem that was about how the poet saw his house how it would of been if he chose another life. This parallel ghost life. How we canβt know what it would be, better or not, but we all have it. I donβt know, not saying it right but it was a wonderful piece. The whole book is.“

Maryse!!!!!!!!!!! You still HAVEN’T READ JEZEBEL????? How about The Fae Chronicles??? You need to start listening and reading at the same time, different books of course!
Gah!!! I TOTALLY DO!!!
And get that speed-reading course…. I NEED IT BAD!
*holds a peanut* *sighs* Yes, FCH. Amy recommends it. You think Amy would recommend anything that was simple? And yeah, Fae Chronicles have to be read past book one, but seriously. *throws peanut* FCH!
*thinks and throws another peanut* This is for the whole Harry Potter series. Just don’t watch the movies first. I can’t stress how badly they screwed up book three.
*hugs* Okay, all done with throwing peanuts.
Hmm a couple blurbs sound interesting…Ricochet, Bury The Hatchet.
I’m reading Diamonds, but I’ve not been feeling it. The writing is choppy and juvenile, which I guess makes sense since the MC is 17. Not sure I’ll stick with it.
I can’t get passed the cover for Whipped. She is going to cut her face with those.
So Jezebel. It seems like everyone is blown away by the twist, but that’s all I’m seeing. Does the whole story hinge on it? And when you look back does it make sense?
Seriously!!!!!!!!! The Fae Chronicles are so damn good!
I’m on Ricochet now and Holy Molly!
Hmmmmm….Jezebel????? The whole story totally makes sense when looking back….that twist was NOT ANTICIPATED AT ALL!
Bev, Jezebel….yes it all makes sense in the end! I still can’t stop thinking about it and having difficulty deciding on my next book because of it!
Okay π I think I’m reading Jezebel like NOW! I have to know what all this squeing is about π
I think I read the first in the Fae Chronicles…
Good. But I didn’t go crazy yet…
Pick it back up?
*picks up peanuts… and picks a few out of her hair*
*pops peanuts in her mouth* Mmmmmmmmm. π
Sorry Tessa… yeah… I dunno. I DID watch the Harry Potter movies. Maybe that’s the reason I didn’t pick up the books yet?
Fae Chronicles get better with each book in my opinion!
Just like with the Charley Davidson series!!!! Reyes = yumminess
*takes a peanut out of your hair, you missed one*
Jezebel… the blurb just isn’t grabbing me. Nor the comments that it’s alright, until that twist.
Yeah, it does get better with each one. Maryse you did read the first, but the second is so much better. Ela, you are so right, Reyes is yummy. The series is funny, fun, paranormal and tons of yummy.
Oh boy, you saw the movies, huh? Well, the first book is a LOT like the movie, though they never really show how abused Harry was before those letters came. Three though, *grabs chest* that book was so heart-rending and dark, but the movie made it seem like a college art project. Also, erm, seven makes more sense if you read the books, because five and three had MAJOR points taken out of it.
Aright, back to King of Sword and Sky. All I’ll say is, they are training in the warrior’s cave. *grins* It’s awesome.
Tessa, don’t go by the blurb. Seriously, it is so good and so well written!!! Definite 5 stars for me!
Yes, Tessa that is what I’ve been taking away from reviews of the book. It seems like everyone loves the twist, but not much else is mentioned. Not going to try yet but on my radar.
Seriously, HP, is amazing. One thing is the tone of the books do become darker and mature as the characters age. So the first, wonderful, does read younger.
Also, the secondary characters shine in the books in a way they never did in the movies. Though I liked the movies too.
Tessa, one scene I adored in the movies was when Harry & Hermione were off on their own and had that dance. Not in a shipping way, but just to show how deep their bond and friendship. So sweet.
Bev, it is a love story and basically a story within a story. So worth reading! I promise!
Yes Ela!! Reyes!! Soooo yummmmmyyyy and such a good series that everybody should be reading (I’d throw peanuts but I ate all mine)
Jean not sure why so hesitant. Maybe because I thought I remember Amy not being into it for the first portion, but maybe that was a different book?
Ah,Tessa. Since you read WIR & E&P, I’ll take all my WIR peanuts and throw them for Fallen Crest High.
Look out Maryse!!!
Hehehe Thank you Bev. I liked Written in Red too. So many good books out there. Jezebel, though, I keep seeing a lot of people, not just here, say it was alright until the twist. Twists aren’t enough reason for me to be excited.
Yeah, that part with Harry and Hermione was sweet. It said everything about their friendship. No romance, just love and joy being together. Honestly, I don’t know if I have a favorite part. I’d have to think on it. There were just so many, from Snape’s worst memory to Fred and George leaving Hogswart. Too many to say. Hmm, maybe McGonagall telling Peeves that the chandelier unscrews the other way. *grins* That was classic.
“Oh and both Hitched and Whipped have my attention big time.” <—- Hehe, someone is feeling a bit *ahem* naughty and adventurous. π
Okay, here's my thoughts on Jezebel…like Jean said, it is a story within a story, and both stories are intriguing. It's pretty easy to figure out what is going on and where things are probably heading which makes it feel a tad predictable, yet the end is anything but predictable. I think that's what gives it such a unique edge, the fact that the story is just kind of playing itself out at a steady pace with some anticipation thrown in when BAM! Then, while you are trying to come to terms with what was just revealed, BA-BAM!!!
That's probably why you're hearing more about the twist than anything else, but the averageness of the majority of the story is what – for me – gave the ending the most impact.
Haha Amy… hitched and whipped, oh my!!!
Jezebel…. Couldn’t have said it better myself Amy!!
Oh and Amy, I loved that the novella was you know who’s POV!!!
And yes, Bev, I started to feel almost indifferent to the story for a bit because I knew I had things figured out, but I think that is why I was so floored in the end. That’s why I said before to stick with it even if you have things figured out and even if it seems a bit slow at times. It’s all worth it in the end. π
Finishing up King today and then I don’t know what will be next…I was thinking Maybe in Another Life, but I’m craving some high angst or high emotion or high drama or *something* to get me all splotchy and my tummy twisting and my heart racing. Oooh, I DO have Contrite still sitting and waiting for me so…
Great point though, Bev. There are definitely 2 types of mind f**k twists, ones that make sense in retrospect, all the signs were there if you go back (I always think of Fight Club) and the ones that come out of no where and are crazy, but not really foreshadowed so there’s no way you could’ve known
Diane M, Reyes and Ryder are 2 of my fave PNR alpha bad boys even above Barrons!
βI thought you were mad at me.β βI am.β βWell, I make it a rule never to have sex with anyone whoβs mad at me.β He arched a brow. βItβs a wonder youβve ever had sex at all.β
β Darynda Jones, Seventh Grave and No Body
βAnd he was damned nice to look at, even when he scowled. In fact, if I were totally honest, that scowl only added to the allure that was Reyes Farrow. Damn it. When I scowled, I looked constipated. Leave it to the son of Satan to turn a scowl into the stuff of fantasies.β
β Darynda Jones, Seventh Grave and No Body
I know, Jean! And then with the journals tied in we were able to get the full depth of the emotional devastation caused by you-know-who. π There wasn’t really time to let all of that sink in during Jezebel because of what the other you-know-who did.
*throws Jezebel peanut at Maryse* Let’s see her eat THAT one!
Tessa, picking a favorite part of HP is almost impossible. I do think the movie short changes the side characters. Oh, and the fun of who would be the new dark arts teacher and their mystery.:-D
Also, the humor. The books would have me laughing so hard!
Makes me sound like I didn’t love the movies and I did.:-)
Diane, it’s definitely the latter type of mindf$#k, not the Fight Club type…and if anyone can say in all honesty that they saw it coming then I. Am. Impressed. π
Diane, I’ve never watched Fight Clubo_O
But yes like Sixth Sense. Where I was all damn! That was clever.
Sorry Amy.* Sweeps up Jezebel peanuts & writes MASON on them.*
I chose sides. Fight the good fight, Tessa!
I couldn’t help myself! This is what you’re missing from the Fae Chronicles:
βI’m the fucking Horde King, I don’t woo.”
“Woo her,” Ristan continues.
“I don’t woo.”
“Woo,” he repeats.
“I’m not the kind of man to woo anyone. I can make her scream my name to the rafters, isn’t that enough wooing?”
“Woo,” Ristan smirks, which only served to irritate me more.
“Woo,” I grind out on an exhale.
“Yes, woo,” he says, already turning to walk away. I watch his shoulders quake with laughter.
“Woo,” I growl.
“Woo!” He says over his shaking shoulders.
“Fuck me,” I shake my head.
“No thanks, not my type…β
β Amelia Hutchins, Escaping Destiny
There’s a Jezebel Spoiler thread….please join:
https://talk.maryse.net/threads/jezebel-by-k-larsen.6045/
Hey Maryse, a plus in the Fae Chronicles is that she loves OPI. π
Oh! Speaking of OPI…
https://imabeautygeek.com/2015/04/14/opi-venice-fall-winter-2015-swatches-comparisons-manigeek-guide/
What does it say about me that I already have the majority of those colors and yet I will still buy that whole collection?? Whatever…it’s fun!!! π
*giggle* I remember that part, Ela. And thanks for the spoiler thread link!
See, that right there is why Jezebel sounds boring to me. “but the averageness of the majority of the story” Sorry Amy! I hate to quote you like that, but so many people say that. It’s average until the end.
Yeah, didn’t y’all buddy read the first fae book with Maryse?
Hey, Maryse, is next yr.your 5th yr.?
Yes! Like sixth sense, but omg Fight Club is an all time fave!! Serious mind f**k that is just genius and Brad Pitt and Ed Norton!!
Tessa, I honestly liked the whole book, it had me interested from the beginning. But of course it’s your call if you want to invest the time. It was a 5 star for me but like all books their not for everyone. For example most readers loved Ground Rules while I just didn’t get it and didn’t care for it. Will I invest in the sequels? Maybe…Dunno
“Peanut Free”
Ella I read fourth grave over and over for a week!!
I love that quote from Fae Chronicles Ela! I still need to read Seducing Destiny!!
I can’t bring myself to read Eighth Grave After Dark, knowing book 9 isn’t out until January 2016.
Seducing Destiny sets the stage for other characters and I found it different from the other 3 but still loved it!
“Peanut Free”~lol.
Okay, fine Tessa! Sorry it’s not exciting enough for ya!!! π
*notices Bev stealing Jezebel peanuts* What the…
Oh wait, it’s for Mason…that’s okay then. π
Amy, I’ve never had black polish before, but I’m liking that one. And the piazza cake, surprise to me. Also, grand canal. *sigh* think I’m dreaming of fall.
*dumps peanuts on Ela* What did you say about being peanut free?
I loved Fight Club! Hey Diane, if you liked Fight Club then you would probably like Memento with Guy Pearce…now THAT is one that you have to pay attention to!
Memento!!!!!
Bev, for me the trick with black-ish polishes is to wear them on my nails when they are VERY short and kinda squared. Did you ever see the OPI Nordic collection from Fall of last year?
https://www.thepolishaholic.com/2014/07/OPI-Fall-2014-Nordic-Collection-Swatches-Review.html
Bev and Tessa, what Amy said. I will say when I started reading Jezebel I only made it a few pages and was “meh”, not keeping me interested. When I went back to it, and got past the “letters” part it picked up for me and held my interest. I was so happy and patting myself on the back for figuring it out that when I read the “twist’ I was like what, whaat, WTF!! You are so blind-sided and that to me enriched the story and threw it at me from a whole different way of looking at it. The companion novella helped to clear up some of my lingering questions too.
Amy, so how was King’s CH? I was looking at Contrite too, but not sure if the story concludes in book 2; didn’t want to look too closely for fear of reading spoilers. Do you know?
MIAL is not high angst. To me there was very little angst. More sad, contemplative, than angst.
*yay* thanks Amy!!!!!!!! I gots me some peanuts and I’m dancing in them!
Loving the polishes!!!
I liked Contrite, it was one mess of fu**upedness and am curious about the sequel, which I didn’t need. But for the life of me I can remember that dam epilogue…
Ooops…Can’t remember the epilogue
Ela, is Reprisal the conclusion to Contrite??
Cheryl, honestly I don’t know. Lately authors are not announcing they are doing trilogies or sequels and just releasing book 1, then when you read it or the reviews you see there’s a continuation. Also, under the synopsis there is nothing said that this is the conclusion. But let me tell you, Contrite was quite a dark mess and I really liked it. I read bad reviews and also see those readers point but I chose to ignore “that’ aspect.
I just went through some of the GR reviews quickly of Reprisal and one said it had a HEA so it just may be the final conclusion?
Okay, If it lingers like that, I’ll try Jezebel.
The Tairen Soul series is eating my gut. Every time the bad guy’s POV hits, ugh. I want to run from nerves. Not so much the evil he does, but knowing that what he’s doing will have repercussions and cause harm to the MC later.
Those nail polish remind me I need to buy more. I have only four purples and of those, only one is paints as a decent shade. I need purple!
I gots library fever.
*sigh*
It’s a sickness.
Okay, where is she?!? Where is MichelleS!!!!
I’m on the freaking warpath.
WARPATH.
CH isn’t that bad in King, huh MichelleS?
Horsesh!t. WTH woman?!?
Uh oh. I’m glad I waited on that one now….
MichelleS, No martini for you.
oooh, Amy, I KNOW you HATE CHs as much as I do. I can’t believe you read King. I have it but “will not” read it until the series is complete. It is killing me to wait because I read the first lines of the prologue and chapter 1 after all the discussion here (hehe, curiosity got the better of me) – but I will not read a partial book on purpose. *smirk* that’s what I call them in my head, anything with a CH is not yet complete, so I say they are partial books. yuk, yuk, yuk
hmmm, you guys made me remember I still have Seducing Destiny sitting in my tbr collecting dust. π
Oh well, this weekend is dedicated to SoT since I picked it up from the library yesterday. Yeah me! It’s going to be a big change of pace since it seems like I’ve been reading nothing but PNR for the longest time.
I’m reading Jezebel! I love it so far! What about SLOTH, Maryse??!!!??? Five letters, s l o t h! Ella James will wreck you!!
Ok, well that answers my question about the CH. *pssst MichelleS you may want to comment about nail polish or makeup to distract her*
Haha Cheryl!
Fabi, hope you like SoT!!
Ela, I agree, that is what I don’t like; just tell me if there is a CH or this is book 1 in a trilogy in the blurb. One of the Amazon reviews that I skimmed thru said conclusion, so I’m going to take that to mean that it is not a trilogy. After I finish Gold I think I’m going to start Contrite.
Sea of T, loved the garage scenes. Hmm. In Deeper I loved the bakery scenes. I guess i like those intimate quiet scenes.
You know what? I’m not even gonna read the next book. Nope. Don’t care what happens to any of ’em. I’m so agitated right now.
I hate CH’s.
I’m still waiting for MichelleS to pop in here. *taps foot and sips mojito martini*
Oh no I’m reading King too after MichelleS rec’d it and thought it was a milder CH. Is it really that bad Amy? Scale of 1 to 10, 10 being I will do a banshee scream and throw my kindle…
Omg Amy, that’s exactly how I feel when I read a book with a CH. I get so mad at the author for selling me a partly written book that I don’t even WANT the next part to it.
It’ll be ok Amy. Look at Jean’s pretty pretty hair.
*puts Amy’s hand on Jean’s head*
There. Deep breaths and pet Jean’s hair.
*whispers to Jean*
Just stand real still, no sudden movements. You’ll be fine.
*backs away slowly*
Ha ha ha ha ha…Bev…no words…
Haaaa Bev, that was perfect.
Bahahahaha!!!!!!!! OMG Bev!!!
*sucks in breath*
Nope. I’m still angry. Not gonna laugh.
π
*snorrrrrrrt!!*
Alright, I did keep one peanut in reserve. I was just reminded of it.
*writes on Peanut*
Flowers from the Storm
I know your off on the back of a Harley right now, so I’ll just set it right here. But behind the FCH peanuts.;-)
Michelle…I would put it at an 8, maybe pushing a 9. Let’s just say it made me p!ssy enough that I’m sipping my mojito martini (or second or third…who’s counting) and glaring at my Kindle library instead of reading ’cause I’m a messed up ball of p!ssedoffedness and not in a good state to start anything right now. *crosses arms* Hmph.
And to think I was griping about Asking For It being a CH. *eyeroll* Yeah, I would rate AFI (now) as being a 3…mildly annoying but tolerable.
*kicks Bev’s peanuts*
HA!! I just scared my dog laughing.
I miss you guys!!! π
Reading… 800 pages!!!!!
I kinda like throw-your-Kindle cliffhangers!!! π
*sips Amy’s mojito martini from right over her shoulder*
Mmmmmmm minty!!!!!
P.S. I’m a pink nail polish addict (not pearl either – full cream) and that pink in the middle is my dream color!!!!!
*looks down at the peanuts*
*sees all the FCH peanuts scattered everywhere*
…
Amy!
I always tend towards green. I have six nail polishes all pretty much the same shade of green. After all, isn’t green such a nice, professional nail color? π
Oh, and yeah, I’m going to be buying the next Tairen Soul book. This is insanely good.
*spits water all over iPad*
Tessa! Green is my favorite color, but… professional? bahahaha good one
Green, blue and red are my favs but I can rarely wear them to work
Don’t forget purples! I really gotta buy more. A pretty lilac or reddish purple. No dusky because I have three dusky.
(sneaks into the conversation….) Hi Amy!!!! So…. how was King? LOL! Come on. It wasn’t THAT bad. The rest of the book made it worth it. Didn’t you totally love his bad a$$-ness?
I’m making it up to you… ok? I read a book by one of your favorite authors. You may have even been the one to tell me about it. Possibly. It’s Existence #1 by Abbi Glines. You know, the author of the Rosemary Beach novels! It’s making me feel like a 16 year old girl. Such a total girl book…. high school romance, some paranormal just for fun, “I see dead people” (ooh), hot jocks all over, a rock star, a little love triangle (maybe)… it’s got everything. A total chick book I tell ya’.
Am I forgiven? (did you like the REST of the book, until that last scene, I mean?)
You are DEFINITELY reading the next book, Amy, along with me and Tessa – who is really to blame since she started the whole “read King OMG” thing…. and you will love/hate every minute of it.
Was it Jean or Tessa? NO!!! I remember…. it was MARIT…. that’s who is to blame here (throwing all the blame away towards another person so wrath of Amy is off my plate)….. π
At least Tessa is still my friend… “Oh, and yeah, Iβm going to be buying the next Tairen Soul book. This is insanely good.” **** giant grinning happening ****
Just you wait – until book 5 – and this one scene that I swear made me cry like a baby…. I hope you finish this series, I really do. So magical.
HERE Maryse…
*pushes martini toward her*
Just take the whole thing! You like CH’s so much so there is no room here in my pity party of one. Wait… *takes one more sip* Okay, now you can have it. I’m on number 4 (5?) so I should prolly stop now…
*kicks FCH peanuts at Tessa* You were saying dear?
…. I need some explanation on the FCH thingie…. FCH is Fallen Crest High? and who is throwing peanuts at whom? (chomping down on popcorn trying to figure this one out). Amy has read them and Tessa hasn’t? And Maryse hasn’t? Or Amy hasn’t read them? (also trying to get Amy’s mind off King)
*gasps and points at MichelleS*
YOU!!!!!!!!
Oh no hunny, you are taking the full brunt of my wrath since you were the last one to be all “oh it’s really not that bad” but it WAS!!! That last line, that last word! Really? Really?!? REALLY?!?!?!?
That was CRAP!!!!! %$&$&#@&$%!!!!!!!!! Whew, feelin pretty full of vodka right about now. π
Oh I have read alllllllll the FCH and guess what? Just guess what??
NO CH’s!!!!!!!!
It’s not like it was “Carnage” or anything!!!! It wasn’t painful…. just, you know…. interesting…. in a twisted kind of way! But did you LIKE it? The other 99.9 % of it?
You guys are hilarious.
For me, the end (or lacking the end) can easily make it break an entire book for me.
I don’t mind reading a cliffy series as long as I have the whole series available so I can go from one to the next. Knowing ahead of time if a book has a CH (or an HEA) in my case, makes my world a brighter place.
Cliff Hangers can be FUN… see….
https://www.priceisright.com/game-page/?id=cliff-hangers
(actually I detest them, but I had no clue going in that King even had one)
MichelleS, OMG, I bought it. Though, um…
*gathers all the FCH peanuts and holds them gently* It’s okay peanuts. Maryse will read it eventually. *gently sets them all in front of Maryse*
Amy, do you want her to read FCH? NO KICKING THE PEANUTS!
*stomps foot* I KNOW it’s not Carnage! Carnage can suck it!!!
And NOPE! I’m not ready to admit I liked it.
*crosses arms*
Maybe in a day or so I will. Ask me again then.
*pulls foot back to kick peanuts*
Fine. FINE. I won’t kick them. Onlly ’cause Maryam needs to read them.
*kicks MichelleS’s King sequel peanuts*
Maryse is always saying that I’m the picky one??? Even I have read FCH. I need Amy back in my good graces, sooooooo….
for you my dear Amy, I will hand over my whole pile of peanuts (including all the Surviving Raine ones… come on little babies….) and put them in the FCH pile in front of Maryse….. THERE….. wipes hands…..
forgiven?
*whispers to Tessa *
What’s Amy’s beef with your peanuts?
Who the eff is Maryam? I meant MARYSE.
“Carnage can suck it!!!”
LOL – I think just barked… like seriously, it sounded like a bark…. and it’s late here, everyone is asleep, and my poor old half-deaf half-chihuahua got startled by my bark….
Quit making me laugh, Amy!
SR?!?!? Really? Right now? You brought it up right now????
*gently picks out SR peanuts from pile*
Eh?
*tosses SR peanuts over shoulder*
Oh, and I have read the Existence series and really, really liked it. π But you’re not distracting me with talk of sexy man Dank!!
*snort* Dank.
I was RETRACTING all SR peanuts… as a gesture of peace and goodwill…
Dank was a stupid name. All the name in this book were really dumb (Pagan? what is that?) . The whole thing should have been really dumb – but for some reason it wasn’t and I read it all in one sitting and turned around and bought book two. Were you the one who told me about it?
*scratches head* I don’t think I did…
Did you read the novella with Leif?
No… I just finished book one, literally, a few hours ago. It was on my TBR list on my Kindle. Downloaded it a while ago. I couldn’t remember who mentioned it, but it was free so I picked it up. I wanted something totally different after Acheron and didn’t want anything heavy. I thought it would fit the bill. I was pleasantly surprised, because if I critiqued it, I would have problems, but somehow it just worked! I will read book two tomorrow.
*blinks and whispers to Bev* I have no idea. I’ve never read King. You think she’s believes I told her to read King? Nope, no King here, except that first line. *thinks* What have I told her to read recently? I know it wasn’t Carnage, cause that did suck. Hrm mentioned the Indebted series but said those CH are bad and angsty and makes you get all confused… Maybe she’s mad at her husband and thinks peanuts are something else?
Fearless is becoming MY book. Can’t hardly put it down and as only 2% in. Can u believe it? Gonna have a good read this weekend…julieobis
Julie O cannot wait to start this book today!! It’s the best when a book has you at hello!!! ***happy dance***
That’s it. Can’t put it off not one more minute. I am buying Fearless today. It’s been 48 hours, right? Your giveaway is over, right? ARGH!!! How crazy is that? A big ole’ ginormous tease like that? After reading your FB post about that one scene, I am all squirrelly – like a rabid squirrel, not a cute one.
The sequel to King (Tyrant) is coming out August 17th – so it’s not like it’s Sylvia Day and her freaking Crossfire horsesh*t years later!
And what about Outlander Book 7? huh huh? Hello cliffhanger! How many years did we wait for THAT conversation to finish? Between Jamie and John?
Just a few short weeks and we’ll get to the bottom of that ending in King. π
*This concludes today’s public service announcement*
Like watching a tennis match (with Peanuts) between MichelleS and Amy. π
*eating peanut* and adding King/Tyrant to my tbr, oh yeh and Archeron.
MichelleS, did you finish the audio book?
Can’t wait to see who is up today.:-D
MichelleS, Can’t wait to see Maryse’s review. If you start it let us know.
Amy, Amy, Amy. I see your frustrated but you need to use your words. We don’t understand foot stomping and kicking.
*snort* Mommy Bev…too cute
Fearless is really good!!! I think I’m at 58% and it doesn’t seem like I’ve read 400 plus pages. Sometimes I can’t pick up a book after I’ve put it down to do the responsible thing and work but this book sucks me back in each time!!
I loved King as well MichelleS and I think it’s totally worth it to read it now even with the CH…..
** running away now so Amy can’t get me…but maybe she is feeling better about it today :)**
Bev – I did start it (Fearless) just couldn’t wait. I am at Chapter 5. I have so much to do today and I am bargaining with myself: do 30 minutes of this and then you can read for 30 minutes. I love it so far. All the angst. It reminds me so much of Unbeautifully (Undeniable #2). A lot of similarities, not only in plot, but feel. I’m already all twisted up in knots and it just started!!!
(No, Tessa, I didn’t finish the audio book… I have a couple of chapters left… I just know I would have enjoyed it so much more in print).
*huffs* the ending of King was NOT what I was expecting and not even in a good way. I dunno after what he does, I’m not feeling him anymore, although up until the last 10% or so I liked it. I’m going in the neutral column for this one. I just finished and I’m mad so maybe I have to digest to be fair…
He was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and that was the decision he made, I guess. I know…. the ending after all that was like, WTH? But it also opened it up wide for all kinds of interesting reveals in book two. Come on Michelle!!! Admit you liked it!! Or else no one is going to read it.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place maybe but what kind of decision is that?! It got into too many improbable scenarios for me but yes I liked it until the last few chapters. I say read it, some will probably love this type of CH but I – and I think Amy agrees based on her tantrum π – that the ending was too…too…do not have a word…too WTH to borrow your phrasing. At least the next book comes out soon, so I guess that makes it not so frustrating.
I need to find out how many books will be in the King series. Because if its more than 2, the 2nd one will likely finish the same way the 1st did. π
OMG Tessa. *snort* Nope, hubby’s peanuts are safe right now. π
Okay, no kicking peanuts today. Promise. But give me another day before I’ll admit to liking King. π I’m trying to get back into Move the Sun (Signal Bend) but it’s not going well for whatever reason. I’m blaming the funk King put me in. π
Bev, do you *really* want me to use my words like a big girl? ‘Cause I have plenty of words to use…
*resistance is futile*
I tried, but I couldn’t resist, I had to pre-order Caged. I love Shay Savage’s writing SO MUCH.
Yes, that’s it…the ending was too WTH. Perfect way to describe it.
It wasn’t enough for stuff to go down the way it did (the whole rock and a hard place thing), but then that last line/word was thrown in. THAT’s what pushed me over the edge into a tantrum.
*snuggles into MichelleS* I still luffs you. π
Wow, so the Fearless roll call is Maryse, MichelleS, Julie, Linda and Niki…anyone else reading it? I’m curious to see everyone’s reactions to it…
*snort* Seriously Fabi? Resistance around here? Yeah, doesn’t work. π
Fabi, keep forgetting. But The Sky is Everywhere, the book I mentioned to Amy, wanted to point it out to you also. YA and the MC is a musician as is another character.:-)
Only 20% in but having such fun with Seize the Fire.
Ooohhh Bev…on my way to Amazon to check it out. Thanks!
Finished Fearless, the sequel and the novella – loved them all! What to read next??!
…and now Paula too for Fearless! π
Bev, I one-clicked it. It sounds perfect and unique!
Also, I don’t know if 4.84 is the sale price, but another book by the same author is 9.99 so I would say you ladies should grab it now just in case the price goes up.
Amy – this is soooooo going to get me back in your good graces – put down whatever you are reading (Signal Bend) and hop on the Fearless bandwagon. Seriously. THIS is the biker book you need to be reading. No squirreling. And I hear there is no CH!!!! LOVING IT so far.
Omg u guys are all crazy. Just finally had the chance to check my email and had 79 emails all from your comments! Couldn’t help laughing for a long time while reading them!
Oh and I’m offended that Amy threw the SR peanuts over her shoulder! Lol!!
Oh and definitely avoiding King for now……
MichelleS! There are too many bad guys in this! I’m reading Queen of Song and Souls and ugh, bad guy tummy twists again. I need to punch an Eld!
I like this
“He smiled—-a sideways smile, a glance like a secret shared between them, brief and heartrending. It sparked a pleasure so swift and fierce that she felt bruised inside instead of glad.”
Tessa: *rubbing hand nervously together* – you’re reading Tairen Soul #4? Is that the one that has the wonderful side story of Talisa and Adrial? How heartbreaking is that???? And poor Shan and Elfeya! I could hardly stand it. That book is full of it, isn’t it? Things got pretty dark in that book, I think.
Yes, though Shan and Elfeya? *sighs* More stupid Elds to slap. Yes, very dark. With the queen right now, I’m playing so much solitaire, it’s insane.
Erm, I should explain that. When things get too eep, to calm myself, I’ll play solitaire. My mind goes elsewhere, and then I can go back. Though, one scene with the queen had me literally setting my tablet down and walking away. Just too much tension to handle at once.
Lol, Tessa. I thought you meant the queen was playing solitaire. Like reading pages & pages of her playing. I was like that sounds…..interesting.
But then I read pages of the Meg sorting mail.
Meg sorting mail was good. That’s part of what made the story, was the everyday things being so great to her. Her sorting mail and delivering it always made me smile.
No, this queen wouldn’t play solitaire. She’s uh… well, maybe. It’s just pure tension.
But…but…MichelleS, I can’t read Fearless! I already committed to reading Me Before You over on Tracey’s favorites page and even got pegged with a peanut by Maryse because I haven’t read it yet!
Tessa, yes for me too.
Especially when the delivery is to the Sanguinati.
MichelleS! That one made me cry! It was all tense, then more tense, then happy… NOPE. Sad! Yep. Sad! *sniffles* Yes, I have number five, however, instead of reading it, I’m gonna cry and sleep. (alright, sleep at least, with sniffles. It’s 11:30)
Amy, I haven’t read Me before You get even though I have had it for a while too!! I want to see the movie though so I will maybe read it before that comes out!!
Has anyone read Daughter of Smoke and Bone?? The books were on super sale today and I got them but not sure if they are good??
I love this line from The Sea of Tranquility: “He’s the kind of good-looking that transforms once self-respecting females into useless puddles of dumbass.”
I have reset my Kindle and it is like a new machine not creaking with all the books! I can just download from the cloud what I need, just need to keep organised..
Going to read Bury the hatchet by Catherine Gayle – Hockey star :0)
Then I am going to give Eleanor & Park a go – as it seems to get a lotta love here and has been on my TBR a good while…
Niki, Daughter of Smoke and Bone was good. I really loved it. That price is seriously good too. I’d go for it if I were you. I still have to read the other two of the series, but the first really captured my imagination.
Just finished Fighting Shadows by Aly Martinez!!! So good! It is the second book to Fighting Silence which was also great and they must be read in order. Love her writing!
Paula – so if I reset my Kindle, does that remove all my collections? Because I have soooooo many books in collections! I wouldn’t know how to find them in the cloud – I’d have to know the name of the author or remember the title, right? No way to organize the cloud, is there? hmmm…. I think I’m too scared to do that. I just keep ordering new Kindles.
You know, if it’s any help, on the tablet, I have my books in the cloud, and they stay in my collection. It just shows it’s not downloaded. Sometimes, it doesn’t download at all, but the picture is there, so I can still put it in a collection.
Now, Tears. Last night! Am I going to cry more with book 5? I have a feeling I am. Stupid evil people.
MichelleS – not sure about collections. I have stopped using them (just have a read one) and rely on Goodreads to see what I have read. I import all my purchases to Goodreads too and put them on a purchased shelf, so I look through that when wanting something to read.
ooh just checked and they are all there in the cloud – all my old ones I used to use – so think you will be fine.
MichelleS, I have a kindle fire and I do like Tessa. Just with books or videos I’ve watched. I delete from device, but I still own it as it were. Then download when i want to re read. The cover stays on my Kindle. I do want to go in and permanently delete books I didn’t care for or DNF…sometime. I never make collections, not sure how to on fire though can on my nook color, but don’t.
One thing. Be careful with any factory reset. Never done it but have seen people regret and warn against it.
Still into my book but have wanted to shake the heroine a couple times.
“You loved me, did you?” His voice was quiet and cutting. “You never knew me.”
“Obviously,”she said.
After a moment, he said on a queer, soft note, “You might have. I would have let you.”
Maddy? I remember that she was the reason I had issues with the book. I like Laura Kinsale’s other books though. Also, I totally forgot until it randomly came up on Goodreads. Have you read Mary Balough?
Maddy is from Flowers from the Storm.
*dusts of that peanut* for when Maryse is done being a biker. And after she re-visits high school.
No, this is Olympia. She is very sheltered and naive. Very high ideals. And Sheridan, well he is and does not. He does do something horrible but I do want to hug him, lol. Don’t we always.
Balogh, I’ve read a couple. They kind of blend together. This, as you know, is not a dis. One in particular I really liked but mind blank. She has a series, yes? I know many love her. My library has her and have thought of picking her up again.
Paula, I love that idea of importing your purchases to Goodreads and then setting up a separate shelf. I gotta work on that!
Jean – it takes a while at first if you are a 1-click addict like me! But once done it is easy to keep on top off – I import a couple of times a week to keep on top of them. I can then sort that shelf, look at the reviews and decide my next read – which is so much fun!!
I am a 1-click addict! Lol! Thanks for the input!
And now there is a baby peguin, lol.
Paula and Jean, that’s exactly how I loaded my Kindle app purchases into my GR account. I did have to go back and manually enter some which didn’t import for whatever reason, but it saved me sooooo much time! Now I just have to add my Nook books…
I also keep track of my books on Goodreads. I have several tbr lists and categories for them. I started using GR because I wanted to consolidate my Nook, Kindle, Paperback and Hardback collections and see what I have and where it is. Lol. Funny. But it works really well. Although, I’ve gotten a tad lazy about adding my freebies to Goodreads lately.
I started using Goodreads just to keep track as well. My biggest problem is most of my paperbacks and hardbacks got lost in a move. So, I’ll see an author’s name and suddenly mass add books. I just did that with Robert Asprin and Mary Balough. π
I definitely need to use GR to organize my 750 downloads I haven’t read yet…. Ugh!
Jean… 1000+ now for me. lol
2000+ for me and I can’t stop!!!
See, Paula, between you and Amy, I can say, well, I’m not that bad. Right? *grins*
You guys make me feel sooooo much better! Haha!
Bev, you have to join Goodreads if for no other reason than to compare your taste with the rest of us. Come on, right now the one with my closest taste is Stylo Fantome (which is kind of awesome). You and Michelle need to join!
Tessa – I use Amy as an example when the other half asks ‘Are you buying more books?’ – I just tell him there are people just as addicted as I am!
Bec- join GR! You get good book ideas from your friends too – doesn’t help the 1-click addiction but hey ho!
Bev even! Stupid auto correct
I love comparing book shelves with my GR friends Tessa. It’s so cool to see other people’s opinions of the same books I’ve read. And, of course, its a good way to find gems.
ROFL Paula. That’s a great reasoning. *points to Amy* She does too!
Fabi, Yes! I’ve seen books and thought, hey, that looks good. Here’s my problem. You, Jean, Amy, MichelleS and Paula are the only ones who actually read consistently and read my type of books. The rest, not really. I need people from here! *grins* You all have good book tastes!
Erm, and to all my Goodread friends, I just added another author, so you might have gotten spammed again with *read* books.
HA!!! I’m used as an example to support an addiction…glad to be of service!! π
Tessa, y’all are gonna get spammed on GR with my TBR books here shortly when I update my latest purchases, so I’d say we’re even. π
Oh, you’re getting spammed with those. I don’t have anywhere near all my unread books in Goodreads.
Tessa: it’s been a while since my last re-read of Tairen Soul, so I can’t remember what happened in each individual book, just the story as a whole. The saddest part for me in book 5 is that it had to end. I wasn’t ready to leave that world: where the men, the warriors follow such deep tradition and how they adore and revere women, in general. It was all so unbelievably magical. I know it is super duper dark…. but there is a HEA, I promise. There is the one storyline that didn’t have that, and I’m not sure when it happens, so I won’t spoil it, but I will never forget my heartache about it.
I am going to have to try that Goodreads idea about importing books and putting them in collections. I hadn’t thought of that! I have a Kindle Paperwhite and not a Kindle Fire, so I can’t see them quite the same way you do on the Fire. It’s a PAIN making collections on that thing. Easier than older versions, but still a pain.
I just read ALL day long. Have not done that in forever. Finished but makes my head feel a little muddled. Some fresh air and takeout.
Not sure what I’ll read next. If anything tonight.
Awww. The sign of a wonderful book.
MichelleS. I’m not complaining. I think the eeps on here help get me through the eeps in the book. Also, OMG, is it good. I’ve already seen one story not have an hea. Thus the crying at the end of book four. However, I think another story just lost its hea here in book five. So sad.
Started my next read. Only a few pages in. Not going to get too far tonight, early alarm.
MichelleS, I’m not to fond that the hero slayed thousands from grief. The cover cracks me up.
You’re reading Tairen Soul?
Yes. Sorry. It is time for bed.
So she’s ugly/beautiful. Lol. Bright hair, green eyed, slender, small nose, too wide mouth, so ugly. Lol. I remember when all historicals had this heroine, because their looks weren’t in fashion. But they are describing Angelina Jolie or something.
Bev – agreed, the covers could use an update! At first I thought he must be horrible since he scorched the earth in grief…. but I ended up totally falling in love with this character…. and the other men in this series are so so so strong, maybe even stronger than he is… so I ended up with enough men to love (Bel, Gaelen, Dax, the brothers, etc). Just so you know, Tairen Soul for me is like Written in Red was for you. I’m a nervous wreck anytime someone reads it because I just love it that much!!!
Bev – also remember that she would be ugly / beautiful to him since she is “human” and doesn’t have that Fae beauty and skin, etc….. and he doesn’t WANT to have a mate… he is still Mr. Tragic at this point.
I was thinking of the town and her mother’s reaction to her looks. Not putting it down a lot of books, espc historical, do this.
Even in NA or KA, the girls think she is too heavy, not pretty and the guys that she is Bridget Bardot reincarnated.
So, funny. But when I was a teen and reading romance I was a tad disappointed if the H & h were not the most beautiful people ever. Now i sometimes prefer it if not.
I’m at 68% of book five. I fell asleep last night reading it. Soooo good.
Bev, I totally understand. It doesn’t sound ugly at all. Can a nose be too small?
Tessa, lol. Right? I’m only at 25%. When Belliard “makes” her a dress then his pride is hurt. I like him.
Bel – swoon – he is wonderful!!! Just you wait….
Can a nose be too small? yes – I knew one girl growing up and it definitely was – and when they say that I picture her nose and I know that’s not what they mean. Hers was turned up drastically (like vertical slits for nostrils). I’d rather they not mention the nose at all, unless it is really big!
I agree abut wanting amazing looking people in books, but, now appreciating when they are just ordinary, or different. Thats what I loved about E&P – how they were so far from the romance novel couple. I really like stories where he is scarred or beastly too. Like Z.
Word Play by Amalie Silver is .99$ today. It had been on my radar and thought I’d share!
You guys are really making me want to check out Tairen Soul, but I don’t think it’s my normal genre. I did have to check out the cover though after Bev’s “ugly” remark! Lol!
Yes – it’s all very “Rick Springfield”, isn’t it? (Those Tairen Soul covers). I do wish she’d revamp the covers. I bet a lot of people pass over them at the library for that reason.
Jean – not your normal genre…. well, they are epic fantasy – so if you like Game of Thrones and that kind of thing, you’d like it. It’s kind of Wheel of Time lite…. π
I am just always happy it even gets mentioned.
*raises hand* I’m one of those wretched people who will skip over a book because of it’s cover. π
Although, I did one-click and read FCH when the cover was just a weird sketch of a girl’s head…
Jean do you read pnr, uf, fantasy, or historical?
If not I so want to pimp a couple books.
Moon Called by Briggs, is I think a great one to dip your toe into. I think you lights really like it.
And historical of course Lisa Kleypas.
I’m really enjoying Lord of the Fading Lands, but it is definitely fantasy. You might jump right in and love it, but I know people can be hesitant to do that.
Amy, some covers can be off putting, lol. Not offensive just…i don’t know
And kind of funny because they rarely have anything to do with what’s inside, lol.
I do not find this one bad just funny.
But I like pretty covers, so even though I don’t read it much I like a lot of chic lit covers also YA covers.
I’m so happy to see you all reading Tairen Soul! Those books *sigh* I just adore them!! I begged & begged my sister to read them for years and then I finally gifted her the first book through Amazon with a less-than-friendly note that said she needed to read this friggin’ book. She finally relented and loved them all.
That scene with Bel and the dress is one of my favorites. Another is with Elly and Gaelan at the river. Oh oh!! And Elly when she gets to Chatok and rasa! Gah, I just love these books!!
I may re-read them now, since I’m in such a funk after Fearless!
You know there are times I hate learning too much about authors. It may tarnish an experience or may never read their book.
But there are some that are so awesome. She is awesome.

Bev, Pnr and Uf I guess? Maybe fantasy? I have a hard time deciphering between the genres. Like I’ve read most of the BDB series, Fae Chronicles, Fever series, and um, yeah I can’t think of what else and I dont even know what genre the books I read are! I know, I’m pathetic! I do know what historical books are though….. have had The Bronze Horseman for like a year now and haven’t read it yet. I think the length of it is daunting. Although I’m reading Love Unscripted now and it’s long…..
I think I need Maryse to do a blog explaining the genres and then some lists maybe. This might clear up some of my confusion!
Oh, Jean then your an old hand at Urban Fantasy, lol. At least that is what I’d type those books at.
Though maybe BDB started more PNR, then became UF.
I’m not always sure either, lol.
Jean – this one is definitely epic fantasy – urban fantasy takes place in our world, and in this world there is no new York City or TVs or cars or anything that ties it in any way to the world as we know it. It’s an “alternate” view of the world. There’s a map in the book so you can kind of get a feel for the “lands”.
Jillian – I know, I am thrilled when anyone reads this series. There are so many scenes I loved: when Bel goes down on his knee, and anytime there is keflee, and when Rain first lands in front of Elly, the flowers that bloom later in the books, when Stelli licks Elly…. sigh…. you’re right. Makes me want to visit that world so bad.
That sounds great MichelleS! I think I would love it! Thanks for the insight! I love dystopian and it kinda sounds a little like that. Although your comment to Jillian…. I was like huh? What? Keflee? Stelli licking Elly….haha! No seriously, it sounds great! Moving it up on my list!!!
Here’s some help. PNR is our world, with a paranormal aspect that most humans don’t know, (BDB). UF is anythig that the world itself has changed, but is still a modern setting, (Mercy books, Fae Chronicles). UF and PNR can be hard to differentiate sometimes. π Especially the “It was normal, but now isn’t” scenario. Those are still UF, though. Epic Fantasy is a whole new world where the story takes place (Game of Thrones, Tairen Soul). Hope that helps.
Why do you think epic fantasy so often has a medieval type setting?
MichelleS – some of my other favorites, too. And the affection between Lillis and Lorelle and their fey is too sweet for words. That part with Bel and going down on one knee – beautiful. Another favorite is when they land in Chatok after going through the mist. That scene gave me goosebumps as well!
Definitely fantasy versus PNR for these. It’s like…EPIC love story.
Stelli licking Ellie *snort* That DOES sound dirty lolol
Thanks Tessa! That helps a lot!
Bev, probably because for most authors, they don’t want more modern weapons, like guns. Also, I think in a lot of cases, things aren’t invented because you can do the same thing with magic. Harry Potter books really touch on that. Some wizards are fascinated by things muggles invent, but in the end, they are useless to them because they have magic to do the job for them.
Good point, Tessa.
That just reminded me of when they would try to dress as muggles. Gah, love that world.
Just finished E&P – I wanted more!! That ending – grrr
Just started Jezebel…
Oooooo Grey, can’t wait to see what you think of it!
Oh hey guys how ya doin? I haven’t been around you know reading and a toddler and all but um I just wanted to say umm…… I HAVENT READ FCH EITHER!! * bolts back into hiding place*
Laura……shhh!!
FCH peanuts make Amy angry. And you do not want to make Amy angry.
*blinks and throws a peanut at Laura* It’s free!
Oh I knew Tessa was gonna have something to say about that Laura! She is the one who bullied…. I mean convinced a lot if us here to read it! (Haha just kidding Tessa)! Loved it!
*scoffs* Peanuts only make me angry when I’m in a mood ’cause someone convinces me to read a book with a CH. π
MichelleS, how is Fearless coming?
Has anyone on here ever had lowlights done?
Bev – I am at about 85% with Fearless (it’s a LONG book) – love it so far! If you like Sons of Anarchy, then you will love Fearless – because, I swear it could be a whole season of that show!
I had lowlights done, but I did it in the Fall or Winter. I like the combination of both lowlights and highlights. If done right, it looks good. If not, you look like a calico cat.
Lol that’s what I don’t want. I had highlights done quit awhile ago to help cover/blend the grey I have coming in. :'(
I’m not ready for grey but not ready for a full dye either, lol.
RUT ROH…. somebody is still holding onto a wee bit of cliff-hanger-anger…

Lol, Maryse is marinating.
Okay. *sighs* Done. I have questions about a few characters end, but for all that, so good. I want more just based on how good it was. Thank you MichelleS for the recommendation!
Nevermind, I must have skipped or not registered a page. I went back to figure out a character’s fate, and somehow, I missed a REALLY important page. I knew I was confused, but geesh. It was at the end too.
Me Before You is on sale for 2.99 currently.
Um holy fucking shit?!?!? Can I say that in here. Feel free to censor me if you need to, my apologies, it is 1am, ive been awake for 22 hrs and Im henpeck typing on my tablet, which I straight up hate to type on, because… Jezebel
Whoa, super slow to start for me, but then it was like a runaway train! Oh. My. God! Totally blew my mind…um yeah, who threw that peanut at me…cuz dayum!
Well dang it! Grey just threw a wrench in my plans. I bought the next book after Fearless because I fell in love with that world, but after THAT, I may just have to read Jezebel next!
Me Before You. Oh, my heart.
*sniffle*
I loved it. MBY was everything that it was built up to be. It was so achingly but beautifully bittersweet.
*sob*
Where is everyone when I need a snuggle???
*snuffles on stuffed manatee*
Oh yeah, that’s right…it’s past 1:00 in the morning here and everyone is sleeping like I should be doing right now. Tessa said it’s on sale…if you don’t have it already, grab it NOW.
*sniffle-snort*
Aw man…I can’t breathe through my nose…
My stuffy nose didn’t stop me from snorting when I read Grey’s post though…that’s a pretty great reaction to it!
Um, Grey? It might have been me that hit you with a Jezebel peanut…I’ve been throwing a lot of those lately. I didn’t want to be the only one reeling from that book. π But it could have been Cheryl or Jean as well ’cause I know they were dealing with WTF-itis from Jezebel as well!
Okay, off to curl up in the fetal position with Manny and sniffle-sob-sniffle myself to sleep. GAH! Me Before You was wonderful…
Amy, nope. But glad you liked it so.
Oh no Amy, I don’t know if I want to read MBY with all that snotty crying!! Was it really worth it?
Grey! Your reaction was priceless! WTF-itis from Jezebel!!! Lol! It was a slow start for me too Grey, but so worth it in the end!
*hugs Amy* That good, huh? It always sucks to have a broken heart when everyone’s asleep.
MichelleS, I say give Jezebel a shot. Pretty please? *flutters eyelashes* And that “I’m sorry” picture is adorable. Here, I’ll show you I’m not angry anymore by sharing Manny. *holds out stuffed manatee* Oh wait… *wipes snuffle off then hands him back* Okay, there ya go.
Oh Jean, it was SO worth it. Honestly, right up until the end I didn’t know which way it would go which just heightened the emotions. Don’t let my snot-crying dissuade you or spoil anything about MBY…heck, I cried at the end of Tristan & Danika! Bittersweet just does me in for some reason. π
Come on Bev, you know you wanna. π
Aw thanks Tessa…I always seem to get overly emotional and overreact with a book in the middle of the night!
