BREAKING NEWS UPDATE! I just posted my book review of Corrupt by Penelope Douglas

We found us some Friday goodies, and a few of them are brand new releases (like that whole Evan Arden book bundle from Shay Savage that got cancelled). It finally went live!! *happy dance* I LOVED that series.

Plus… while having fun looking for new book deals and releases that I may have missed (old and new alike) look what else I found. I posted these on Facebook yesterday but in case anyone missed them, these are just PERFECT. HOLY MOLY I WANT ONE!!! Infinity book scarf with a quote from the “The Raven” by Edgar Poe. It is SO perfect!! And another one that I love… Infinity book scarf with a quote from the “Alice in Wonderland”. Who am I kidding? I want them all! All the gorgeous book scarves! I never even thought to look for cool things like this. What other book things (that aren’t books) have I been missing? Oh. I’ve been missing these. Banned Books Socks. :P LOL!!! Too cute!

Kathryn: Love!!

Tessa: I want the Raven or the Alice in Wonderland one. Those are so cool.

Maryse: I even love that some of the colors are “old paper” color. LOL!

Leeann: Perfect gift for my daughter! Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything! :D )

  19. Sustained by Emma Chase <— LAUGH-OUT-LOUD FUNNY ALERT! And it’s back on the list ’cause Christina AND her husband loved this one! “Sustained (after Overruled) was really awesome! Had me laughing out loud like I did while reading Tangled. Don’t let one book scratch an author for you. I’ll admit that after Overruled, I didn’t jump on Sustained right away, but I just finished the Twist Me series by Anna Zaires and was looking for something to make me giggle and took a chance. I’m so glad I did, because I was laughing out loud so hard, I was getting “the look” from my husband. FYI… That “look” originated when I was reading Tangled (Emma Chase). I loved reading Drew’s point of view so much that I read parts of it out loud to my husband (who is def an alpha type) and he was cracking up with me. I got through one part and then went back to reading to myself, and he was like… “so what happens next?” I wind up reading the rest of the book out loud to him so we could enjoy it together. It was AWESOME!!  :-)
  20. Nuts (The Hudson Valley Series Book 1) by Alice Clayton <— Dena found us this one on super-sale!!! Anne says: “I am reading Nuts too and loving it! Its hilarious!!”
  21. On Paper by Shae Scott <— MALE ROMANCE AUTHOR & A READER MEET AT A BOOK EVENT ALERT! fabi LOVED this one! “Awwww, guuuys, I just finished On Paper and it was so good. 100% pure love story. No gimmicks, no tricks, just two people falling in love. Super sweet and beautiful.”
  22. Beyond Her Words (Corrupt Chaos MC) by Bink Cummings <— BIKER BOOK ALERT! And this recent release is back on the list ’cause Niki loved it! “I’m in book heaven with Beyond her Words!! It is very different from what I thought would be another book about a MC!! Love it!!!!”
  23. The Language of Flowers: A Novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh <— TASHA GIVES THIS ONE 5 STARS!!! And HIGHLY recommends it!! “I just finished The Language Of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. I think this is a story you guys would really love. It follows a girl who had grown up in the system, the challenges she faces making it on her own afterwards, her relationships she makes along the way, and how she communicates and touches people’s lives with flowers. It’s written really wonderfully and it goes back and forth between past and present throughout so you find out slowly what all happened to shape her into who she is. There is some romance as well but it isn’t the entire focus of the story and it works so well for this book. So heartwarming and also heartbreaking. There were many times I wanted to shake the mc too!! Awesome read, 5 stars from me :)
  24. Eighteen (18): Based on a True Story by J.A. Huss <— STUDENT-TEACHER ROMANCE ALERT! This recent release is back on the list ’cause it’s making happy-reader waves!!!

Allison: I am at 91% in Eighteen and am looooooving it! Another one I don’t want to end! I love the characters, the guessing that I’ve done throughout the book, the second guessing of who I thought should have ended up with whom. The hotness. Yowza. Between this and Corrupt, what a one two punch!

Jean: I just 1-clicked 18 Allison! Is it really based on a true story?

Allison: Jean, at the end JA Huss explains how it is based on her life when she was 18. She was in a relationship with a much older man, though he wasn’t her teacher. But she went through the same thing as Shannon, having extra credits but still not able to graduate HS because of the timing of when she took her classes and having a counselor who rallied to support her. She goes into much more detail about who each of the characters were based on from her life. She claims to have written it in just 2 weeks because the story was already there from her real life. Loved the book so much!

And now I’m working on After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I love her writing, this is the first I’ve read from her. So real! And I’m loving the characters too! Hearts Of Blue is really screaming at me up there also! One clicked Sustained – have a feeling I’m gonna need some humor after all these heavy emotional reads! :P

Dena November 20, 2015 at 5:02 PM

I’m surprised you don’t have Nuts by Alice Clayton on sale for 1.99.

Theresa November 20, 2015 at 6:17 PM

Aly Martinez is going to write 3rd book Fighting Solitude. I’m going to say need to read in order. Read the first not the second yet.

Amy November 20, 2015 at 6:19 PM

Tasha, that one sounds really good! :) And After I Do is phenomenal! Such a different path for a couple to take when their marriage is faltering. My heart absolutely *ached* (in the good way ;) ) through most of it, and I swear I thought I was going to sick up with a certain…how can I say this without spoiling it…let’s just call it a three-word sentence. UGH! My tummy and heart are clenching just thinking about it! Her book Forever, Interrupted is such a beautifully heartbreaking read that you should check out as well.

Maryse…speaking of reading-related gifts:

I SO want to get a bunch of those for all of the ladies here!

Maryse November 20, 2015 at 6:21 PM

Great one Dena. Lemme add it! Thank you!! :D

Maryse November 20, 2015 at 6:29 PM

Tasha THANK YOU!!!!!

This sounds amazing. I’m adding it. :D

Maryse November 20, 2015 at 6:32 PM

After I Do is one of my all time 5 star favorites. OMG I remember every single detail of that one. Except for the characters names. ;) tee hee! I’m bad with those.

Maryse November 20, 2015 at 6:40 PM

OH AMY!!!!

We should ALL have this.

PLUS… one in martini-glass style. :P

Maryse November 20, 2015 at 6:42 PM

and maybe little shot-glasses, too.

You know. A “proper” set. :D !!!!

Amy November 20, 2015 at 6:56 PM

*whooping* Found some!,1265839822

Yep, we all need a “proper” set of those!

Michelle November 20, 2015 at 7:12 PM

The Club by Lauren Rowe is free right now :)

Fabi November 20, 2015 at 7:42 PM

I’m starting From Scratch by Rachel Goodman. On Paper left me craving more love stories. I think this one is a second chance, southern setting romance.

Lisa November 20, 2015 at 10:43 PM

Maryse and Tasha J…The Langage of Flowers is a beautiful story. I read it a few years ago and its a story that will stay with you. My hard copy has all the flower meanings in the back too…its gorgeous. Vanessa Diffenbaugh has a new one out too, title escapes me.

Lisa November 20, 2015 at 10:56 PM

Ooooh. Maryse. Have I got the BEST book themed pressie ever. They are antique book pages framed with a famous book or author quote, hand painted on them. They’re handmade in England by Bookishly.

My favorite is the Alice in Wonderland:

AND the Wuthering Heights quote:

fia November 21, 2015 at 4:48 AM

Okay deep breath, squee!!!!
Maryse I just finished Thirty Nights by Ani Keating, and it’s bloody briliant!!!
I swoon, I laugh, I cry, Aiden Hale surely is my newest book boyfriend, that bloody man surely is one of the most complex hero I’ve ever encountered, I freakin love him.
Definitely a five star for me, highly recomended for sure.

Linda November 21, 2015 at 8:56 AM

Fia because of your enthusiasm I’m going to start Thirty Nights hopefully this evening when RL settles down!!! Cannot wait! That being said is it a cliffy?? Trying not to look at the overwhelming amount of 5* reviews.

Lisa M November 21, 2015 at 9:50 AM

I just finished 18!!! It was so good!! A perfect read after Corrupt, Rebel & Rogue!!! Now I’m starting Pure Abandon!!! I’ve had it on my tbr for awhile now. I know it has been compared to Asher & I didn’t know if I was up for a heart break story.

Lisa M November 21, 2015 at 9:55 AM

Oops I’m meant Arsen!!!

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM

LISA I LOVE THOSE!!!! I NEED THOSE!!! <3 Thank you!!

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 11:35 AM

Fia, I’m going to start it too, today. :D

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 11:35 AM

LisaM that one is on my TBR list. Let me know what you think. :D

Lisa M November 21, 2015 at 12:36 PM

Only 24% in Pure Abandon & I’m hooked!! I’m screaming in my head NO don’t do it don’t go there but you know something’s going to happen!! Whats up with her supposed friend?? Hmmmm!! A twist maybe!!!!

Tessa November 21, 2015 at 1:34 PM

Maryse, I mentioned it before Corrupt came out, but look again at Law of Moses for your TBR. It’s pretty much everything you swoon about in a book.

bev November 21, 2015 at 1:59 PM

Lisa, they have the first line of Rebecca. Lol. I remember Amy & I talking about that one.

bev November 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM

Puts my sad little hopeless red peanut down by Maryse.

Tessa November 21, 2015 at 2:16 PM

Or you should read Written in Red. :) That one is really good and different from your average paranormal.

Allison November 21, 2015 at 2:56 PM

I am almost done with Kissing My Killer by Helena Newbury, which just came out this week.

I am really in love with this author. She has mastered telling stories of big, burly, bad boys who fall in love with a woman and just really fall at her knees. Yet, they still maintain their badboyishness. Is that a word? It is now. Because it’s a thing.

This is the story of Alexei, a Russian mob hitman hired to take out a hacker who has gotten too close to the secrets his boss is hiding. Except the hacker isn’t who Alexei was expecting, and he just can’t pull the trigger. I love it!

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 3:02 PM

Why is it I can never remember the premise of Law of Moses… okay lemme look.

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 3:02 PM

*picks up bev’s sad little red peanut and cracks it and pops it in her mouth*

Mmmmmm red-flavored!!! :D :P ;)

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 3:03 PM

Written in Red, huh?

Okay I’m gonna start a few right now and see which one grabs me. I’m wide open right now. But I HAVE to read ’cause I have the whole day, no obligations, and it’s pouring rain outside and has been for hours. SO cozy.

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 3:04 PM

Allison, that sounds GREAT, too.

I love that kind. Badboyishness IS a thing.

bev November 21, 2015 at 3:25 PM

You might try a sample, so……

marina November 21, 2015 at 4:32 PM

Thanks LisaM… I finished Corrupt this morning and picked up 18 right away but put it down a bit to be human. Corrupt is a hard one to follow. The vibe in it… Seeing your comments… I will definitely continue with 18!

Lisa M November 21, 2015 at 5:39 PM

Whirlwind reading today!! Just finished Pure Abandon!!! Omg omg omg!!! So freaking good! The kind of book you would be chewing your fingernails all the way through, if I did that I don’t thank goodness!! Read it Maryse!!! Off to dinner. No more reading tonight……
Marina, there’s nothing like curing a book hangover with a lil hair of the dog (another book) lol!!! What to read tomorrow???!

fia November 21, 2015 at 8:51 PM

Lisa M, Pure Abandon also one my favorite, try Reckless Abandon next, it tell Asher’s story, truly recomended.
Also beware for Linda and Maryse, Thirty Days end up in Cliffy, it’s so good tough can’t wait for the second book!!

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 8:54 PM

You guys are killing me.

Between Thirty Days, Pure Abandon, Written in Red and The Man I Love, my TBR list just gave ME the finger.

Maryse November 21, 2015 at 8:56 PM
Cheryl November 21, 2015 at 10:25 PM

Finally getting opportunity to look the latest recs and read the comments. RL has been crazy busy and interfering with my reading time. I just finished Corrupt. I liked the mystery of it, but the “horseman’” attitudes, especially Michael’s annoyed me and I wanted to smack the h who was so wishy-washy-weak to tough. Also, it could use some editing.

Now to decide what to read next…

Lisa M November 21, 2015 at 10:46 PM

Fia, I just got Reckless Abandon!!! I can’t wait to start reading it!!!! So much for waiting till tomorrow to start!!’

Tasha J November 21, 2015 at 11:52 PM

I finished After IDo! Devoured it actually. That book is utter perfection, loved it so much! It felt so real and I really connected with the characters. And went through all the emotions too, including humor and I’m so glad it could make me smile and ache at the same time. Not many nooks can do that. :) 5 stars, Amy it was driving me a little crazy trying to figure out what 3 words you were talkin about and I *think* I figured it out. Lol, if it’s what I think I was the same way :P

Tessa November 22, 2015 at 12:12 AM

*hugs Bev* It is an awesome book, yes. She’ll get to it, you’ll see. You didn’t steer her wrong with Eleanor and Park.

bev November 22, 2015 at 1:55 PM

Very lazy morn reading. A sweet harlequin western. Just about to finish up and then no reading until this evening. Hopefully late afternoon.
What are all of you reading right now?

bev November 22, 2015 at 1:57 PM

Lol & thanks Tessa. But then what will I talk about.

Tessa November 22, 2015 at 5:56 PM

A Lisa Kleypas book, of course!

bev November 22, 2015 at 9:02 PM

Lol. Very true, Tessa. Very true.:-P

Lisa M November 22, 2015 at 10:16 PM

Fia, I just finished Reckless Abandon!!! I’m not sure which one I liked better Pure Abandon or Reckless Abandon. Both books were absolutely incredible!!! Maryse send these books to the top of your tbr list!!!
