Yep. You guessed it. Today’s Friday Finds are awesome (I received some great-sounding recommendations this week). We’ve been on a reading roll! Plus, some new releases by authors we LOVE (like Ginger Scott and Katie Ashley and Georgia Cates just to name a few) and some super-bargains by authors we LOVE (like the latest by Amy Harmons and a psych-thriller that I just read a few weeks ago and went crazy for at it’s regular price). LOL!! At this price? JUMP ON IT!!!
I’m still adding onto this list, as I will be for the next few hours (including some feedback on a few recent releases that I was sure would be awesome, and turns out, they are)!
Plus, don’t forget to check put my latest review (famous actor and a regular girl that goes out of her way to meet him – tee hee!!!)
AND!!! If you missed it, don’t forget to check out part #1 and part #2 of our 8th birthday blog celebration (where we reminisce and I answer reader and blog-type questions!!) SO. MUCH. FUN this week, and there will be a final part three (the conclusion of this week’s birthday bash) in just a day or so. LOL! I wrote a trilogy. A birthday blog post trilogy. *snort* 😛 I crack myself up!!
Now… take a look at what we found! (NOTE: some are bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order. Sales listed are for Amazon U.S., however some of the Amazon UK links also reflect the sale!):
- A Boy Like You by Ginger Scott <— LIVE!!! GINGER SCOTT’S LATEST (and we LOVE her here)!!! Sounds like it will be angsty and deep. The blurb is hard to wrap my head around, but I am intrigued! A boy once saved her life… and then he disappeared. Years later, a new boy shows up. “...From the moment I first saw him standing there on the baseball field, he pushed me—his eyes constantly questioning, doubting…daring. Still, something about him—it feels…familiar. He says his name is Wes. But I can’t help but feel like he’s someone else. Someone from my past. Someone who’s come back to save me. This time, though, he’s too late…“
The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis <— HOLY MOLY CRAZY BLURB-ALERT!!! HER OLDER SISTER WAS MURDERED AND SHE LOST IT… AND HER KILLER-DARK SIDE CAME OUT & SHE CAN’T TRUST HERSELF AROUND OTHERS… “As their senior year unfolds, Alex’s darker nature breaks out, setting these three teens on a collision course that will change their lives forever.” Amy, the other half of our “Marmy” twins (we like ’em angsty and gasp-worthy, and jaw-dropping and unpredictable, and infuriating, and tear-jerking and daring!!) Anyway, I digress… look what AMY found us!!!! *squeeeee*
Amy: MARYSE!! I haven’t gushed much about it (don’t want to be accused of peddling a death book *side-eyes bev*
) but…YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO READ THE FEMALE OF THE SPECIES!!!!!!
The writing is fantastic and oh my, the feels. Holy moly, I felt. FELT. So freaking much. It was 4.5 stars for me. Maybe closer to 5. The three POVs actually added to the emotional intensity instead of taking away, at least to me they did. *sigh* Wasn’t I just saying recently I wanted this kind of book??
…I’m tellin’ y’all…Female of the Species is just the kind of “different” we crave from time to time. No cookie cutter storyline there. No bada$$ h who seems to gloat about what a bada$$ she is. Just a messed up girl trying to make it through each day and the two imperfect people who grow to care about her. And the writing…good lord, the writing. LOVED it.
- GRIP by Kennedy Ryan <— LIVE!!! ROCK STAR ALERT!!! She is his manager…”He’s on the verge of unimaginable fame, all his dreams poised to come true. I manage his career, but I can’t seem to manage my heart. It’s wild, reckless, disobedient. And it remembers all the things I want to forget...”
- Speed Dating (Preston’s Mill Book 2) by Noelle Adams & Samantha Chase <— LIVE!!! BEST FRIENDS & UNREQUITED LOVE ALERT! He’s secretly developing feelings… and she’s wondering why he’s acting so weird. LOL!!! “Isabella has known Jace all her life, and she’s been best friends with him since high school, when she used to date his best friend. Now she’s ready to settle down and get married, and she’s decided that her sister’s wedding in three months is her deadline. She’s going to find the man of her dreams in time to take him to the wedding. Now if only Jace would stop acting strange and territorial so he could help her.“
The Memory Watcher – A Psychological Thriller <— PSYCH THRILLER SUPER-BARGAIN AND I LOVED IT!!! This is the one that I DEVOURED a few weeks ago, remember??!!! That one where, she’s secretly watching the daily lives of the family that adopted her daughter on the social media page… watching her daughter grow up. And then they close it. And she freaks out. (my review)
Jean: I want this one! I didn’t even read your review, just scrolled down to see you rating……That’s all I in need to know!
Maryse: Read it Jean!!! :D!!! Eeeeeeeep!
- LEATHER PANTS: A Romantic Comedy (The Happy Pants Cafe Series Book 2) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff <— LIVE!! ROCK STAR ALERT!! She’s a judge and he’s a rock star, and she wants to put him in his place! “…when rock-n-roll’s most famous bad boy, the legendary Colton Young, enters her court, looking hotter than sin and smugger than hell, she’s just itching to serve a little justice. But Sarah’s about to make the biggest mistake of her life. And her fate will land squarely in the hands of the world’s most notorious rock star rebel...”
Something in the Way by Jessica Hawkins <— SUPER-BLURB JOLT ALERT!! This one is already at the top of my TBR list ’cause OMG it sounds angsty and tumultuous and forbidden in TWO different ways!!! “…even though I saw Manning first, that didn’t matter. My older sister saw him next...” and Marion and Susan both read it and loved it (5 stars!!!) OMG OMG I WANNA READ IT TONIGHT!!! (P.S. Book #2 is up for preorder: Somebody Else’s Sky (Something in the Way Book 2)
Marion: Ladies you HAVE to read Something in the Way by Jessica Hawkins……it’s book one of a trilogy but it will leave you reeling and wanting to find someone to discuss the ins and outs with. 5 star read!!!!!!!!
Susan: I just finished Something in the Way by Jessica Hawkins. I judge a book by whether or not I can put it down and I could not put it down. 5 stars for me. Now I have to wait until May for number 2.
Feyness (The Red Order Book 1) by E.S. Carter <— DARK ROMANCE READ SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! Kat just found us this awesome-sounding one that’s super-bargain priced today! “He was once darkness. An evil so pure that his very soul is black and yet I am drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Some days, I feel like I am drowning, the waves of my feelings stealing the very air from my lungs. Other days, I feel nothing at all. I’m unsure which is worse; gasping for air or dying from this thirst…“
- Glacier Violet Blaze <— RECENT BIKER BOOK RELEASE and Laura one-clicked it and binge-read it!!
Laura: I one clicked Glacier by Violet Blaze on this list and was really surprised by how good the story was. I skipped making dinner and read the book in one binge sitting. The author wrote an interesting dark “hero”, Glacier, who is very different than the typical alpha males you normally see in MC romances. He definitely looked at life from a different perspective than his other MC members. Glacier reminded me a bit of Jack Hayden from Kati Wilde’s Hellfire Riders series. I liked how Violet Blaze had both the hero and heroine discuss their concerns about the large age difference them at different points in the story.
Running Mate by Katie Ashley <— LIVE!!! KATIE ASHLEY’S LATEST & SHE’S BEING PAID TO BE HIS FIANCEE ALERT!! She’s offered the job of a lifetime when she needs it most… HIS fake fiancée…“My latest relationship had gone down in flames, and I was drowning in a sea of student loans when in true Godfather status, James Callahan made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Seven figures for seven months on the campaign trail pretending to be the adoring fiancée of his son, Barrett. As soon as he won the election, our engagement would be dissolved amicably for the press….“
- Taking Mine: (Breaking Habits Series, Book 1) by Rachel Schneider <— SHE’S STRUGGLING TO MAKE ENDS MEET… “…When her scholarship is revoked, she resorts to desperate measures to pay for tuition, trying to keep her life on track—the same measures she promised herself she’d never take again—and fears the consequences. Things only get more complicated when a deal is offered that is almost too good to be true…” and Tasha loved it!
Tasha: I’m actually almost finished now. I’m at the climax *rubs hands, smiling manically.* This book hadn’t even been on my radar. I found it randomly and thought the premise sounded good. I figured it would be ok, hopefully good. But I’m actually really loving it! It was exactly what I needed. It’s NA, and it gives me the same feeling as a lot of my old favorites did. It’s like a mashup of a bunch I can’t put my finger on, but also had me thinking a little of Fast and the Furious. There’s no racing though, just sort of those feelings. Pleasantly surprised!
and then...
Tasha: Finished! I would totally recommend if you’re in the mood for a good NA with great characters, a good storyline and some action. I love finding little gems, I can’t believe there are so few ratings, but from what I’ve seen they’re all good! It says it was published in 2015.
Dear Agony: A Novel by Georgia Cates <— LIVE!!! THE LATEST BY GEORGIA CATES (TEARJERKER ALERT??) Sounds so good! They have a platonic relationship (contractual?) and she’s falling for him, but he’s planning his own demise. Eeeeeeeep!! “I traded homelessness on the streets of New Orleans for a luxurious bed covered by the finest linens. I traded dumpster diving for dinner in the finest restaurants. I traded myself to a stranger—Bastien Pascal.I have a good life within my platonic and mutually beneficial companionship with Bash. He’s my friend. My mentor. My roommate. Until everything changes...”
- Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland <— JOHN GREEN/RAINBOW ROWELL FEEL ALERT!! Tasha also recommends this one!
Tasha: Our Chemical Hearts really gives u that feel of John Green/Rainbow Rowell.
Grappling for Position (Against the Cage Book 4) by Melynda Price <— MMA FIGHTER IS HER BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND ALERT! “Willow has loved Regan since she was in pigtails and braces. She’s all but given up hope of her brother’s friend returning her affection, but she never stopped praying he would see her as more than Kyle’s annoying little sister. If Willow has her way, that’s about to change. Regan must decide if he’s willing to lose his best friend and the Welterweight title for a woman he doesn’t deserve but cannot live without...” IT CAN be read as a standalone!!
- Dangerous Royals Series by Annika Martin <— DARK MAFIA ROMANCE ALERT!! Raj recommends them!
Raj: The Dangerous Royals by Annika Martin are absolutely brilliant mafia books.
- Blink: A psychological thriller with a killer twist you’ll never forget by K.L. Slater <— PSYCH THRILLER & HER LITTLE GIRL IS KIDNAPPED... back on the list ’cause it’s still super-bargain priced, at the top of my own TBR list (yep, I one-clicked it!!) and now Tanya read it and loved it, too!
Tanya: Blink is fantastic I recommend it…
Jean: By the way guys, I also loved Blink by K.L. Slater…..could not put it down! Had to remind myself to “blink” in the last 30% because I couldn’t take my eyes off the page! Lol
- After Me by Deborah Coonts <— PSYCH THRILLER ALERT! SHE’S A COP WITH EARLY ONSET ALZHEIMER’S IN THE WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM, but now… “Her cover blown, Kate runs, the clock is ticking. People close to her are being killed. Shadowy memories tease her. Some she recognizes. Others don’t seem familiar at all. Running from people she can’t remember, dogged by a past lost in the haze, Kate discovers no one is who they appear to be, perhaps not even herself…” and Tanya recommends this one, too! I think we’ve just found a fellow psych-thriller lover. A reader after my own heart!! 😀
“…my current read After Me by Deb Coonts… A great thriller, the characters are amazing, it’s very good!
Wait (Bleeding Stars Book 4) by A.L. Jackson <— ROCK STAR SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE ALERT!! “…He broke my heart and I refused to give him the chance to do it again. It’s been years since I’ve seen him, and now I can’t do anything but stare at the gorgeous, tattooed man playing onstage. I should run. I know I should. But like a fool, I run straight back to him…” It can be read as a standalone and Theresa 5-star loved it!! (P.S. Book #1 A Stone in the Sea (Bleeding Stars Book 1) is free today)
Theresa: I just read “Wait” and 5 starred it…absolute perfection…beautifully written and a powerful story of forgiveness, hope, and love…highly recommend! Enjoy!
- From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon <— AMY HARMON’S LATEST EPIC LOVE STORY ALERT!!!!!! Nancy and Anna just found out it’s on super-sale today!!
Nancy: Wow!! From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon (One on my favorites of 2016)… Epic Story!!
Anna: Price Drop Alert From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon… This was on R’s top reads of 2016 list.
R: Amy Harmon finally got the mushy love letter I wrote her after From Sand and Ash

Yay, it’s up!
Ooh, and you’re first! 😀
I gotta say, that Ginger Scott book looks SOOO good, but that cover… It got overly photoshopped. Feyness…. Already one clicked. That title then the blurb? Yeah. It speaks to me! And you all talk about cover. See! One click all over the place. Also, it might help me get back into dark books.
Oh, we’re late! The best book of Feb for me was How to Date a Douchebag: The Failing Years.
Yay! I’m fourth… 🙄
Sorry, I had to hit and run… End of the day rush at work. Now I’m home. Yay!
Best of February, I only read a few last month, because… Gann. *side eyes Amy and Maryse* Anyway… Lol! My top pick for last month would be- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which I read as an ARC. But I know that one doesn’t come out for a long time… So my second most awesome read of the month would be- Lucky by Carina Adams which was also an ARC, but it was released to the public on March 1st.
What is everyone else reading this weekend?
Jane Yellowrock. I’m trying to catch up. The library had all but her latest, so I grabbed them all and am binging. 😀 The last one, Broken Soul, was my favorite to date of the series. It was the game changer book that gave me stuff I’d been waiting for and things I didn’t expect. Always good.
I’m tellin’ y’all…Female of the Species is just the kind of “different” we crave from time to time. No cookie cutter storyline there. No bada$$ h who seems to gloat about what a bada$$ she is. Just a messed up girl trying to make it through each day and the two imperfect people who grow to care about her. And the writing…good lord, the writing. LOVED it.
Grey…I actually think it’s pretty freaking cool you got an ARC of Seven Husbands. If you want it to be your favorite for February, then make it your favorite for February! 😀
no favorite audiobook
Yeah NO EFFIN WAY AMY! I READ SPOILERS OF THAT THING AND KEEP IT FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM ME…THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I’m adding it in Amy!!! I MUST READ IT!!!
You guys, I’m just a human squirrel. I want to stuff them all in my cheeks at one time.
Er… Ummm. 😕
I mean read ’em. Read ’em. All at once.
So Maryse? I take it you’re finished with GSH??? *taps foot*
YES Maryse!! You must! They are all so perfectly imperfect and that’s what makes it…well…perfect. 😉
And ooh, ooh, OOH!! A Boy Like You is MINE. 😀
Favorite February read for me was Torn, by Carian Cole.
Is Female of the Species all about high school aged kids? Very few of those appeal to me. Is it “adult enough” for me?
Is anyone else disturbed by the cover for A Boy Like You? His screaming mouth is fuzzy!
I didn’t even realize it was his mouth Tessa… I thought it was… I dunno… a baseball gloved hand or something in front of his face.
Now that I’m trying to see a screaming mouth, I’m spooked. LOL!
Ela… Tee hee!!!
*scratches eyebrow while looking sheepish*
Okay.
Grey???? A REAL HIT AND RUN??
*gasp*
Fav in Feb? Hmm, that’s tough. Very few good ones for me last month.
I’d have to say Forging Zero. It’s an oldie. But really powerful sci-fi. Gritty and gruesome.
I’m reading Something in The Way – it’s going to be angsty!
My fav read for Feb was an oldie but goodie – Maggie Osborne’s Silver Lining. A ‘western’ HR, but not a typical ‘cowboy’ HR. It was a lovely story and really well written. I’m still looking for that 5 star read, though. Haven’t had one in a while :/
Lol I think that’s what they tried to change it to with photoshop, but it just creeps me out.
WHEW! I made it out alive today. I promised myself I wasn’t one clicking anything today and I didn’t! Nothing caught my interest, but I more than made up for it on Tuesday and its gonna happen next Tuesday too! Soooo, many goodies coming out next week. YAY!
I love thrillers! Happy Friday!
Whoa Grey, you liked Husbands more than Africa? *squeals*
I second everything Amy said about Female of the Species. Checking over my February reads, and I read 3 really great ones: Twenties Girl, Caraval, and Female of the Species. They’re all completely different so I can’t choose. I’m currently reading How to Date a Douchebag: The Failing Hours and it’s pretty good! And I really want to read A Boy Like You, too.
Yep…Grey just hit it and quit it.
😆
*high fives Tasha*
*giggle* well, it is FIF… (Otherwise known as… F*** it Friday) no tag and bag either… Geez girls, such a low opinion of me. I mean, someone has to be first… 😆
Wow, R…way to put me on the spot here, if you want me to get specific… I finished Mists in March *whistles*…
Amy, what’s on tap tonight?
You’re not on the spot! If you finished it in March, it isn’t a contender. I just know how much you loved it so I was using it to gauge your Husbands love LOL! I’m going to go with both, a lot!
We’re having honeydew martinis with Midori, vodka, and triple sec…because it is March (St Patrick’s day!) and I have all three of those ingredients. 😀
Hmmm…I have modori and vodka…and a grapefruit LOL.
Then you’re all set, LOL!!
So…Amy’s blurb doesn’t spoil the book?
Nope not reading it.
Did I ever mention that the Homosapiens kill Simon at the end? And his dog, too.
Yeah, now you want to read it, huh?
So, I didn’t have my library book and so opened Undeclared. Nice look on my face when they contemplate how old 30 is.
I’m having Vicks vaporub and nyquil….jealous?
Oh man, you guys crack me up! I was wondering about the cover of A Boy Like You…..I couldn’t figure it out but did think it was a mouth at first and yes, creepy! But I do want to read it!
Favorite for February definitely Mists of the Serengeti. But also LOVED My Life Next Door!
bev, bev, bev…… don’t ever give up!
Bev, I like your tragic ending for Simon! Hee hee
Grey, yuck! That doesnt sound fun.
My fave thing I read in Feb was Heat Wave by Karina Halle. Sort of forbidden-ey. She is crushing on her dead sisters hub. Who happens to be a hot Aussie. *swoon* Oh yeah, and story takes place in Hawaii!!!
Like the flu. 😉
I had some really great reads this month, though I didn’t read much. I’m not sure what my favorite was.
Probably a tie between Wintersong and The Bear and the Nightingale.
Pretty Face and Devil in Spring I read with a smile on my face, totally charming romances with humor and wit.
The Raven Boys really engaged me and has me intrigued about the rest of the series.
MichelleS…Female of the Species is set in high school bit is one of those where it DOES have a more adult feel to the voices, almost as if they are adults recounting their teenage selves. Make sense?
MichelleS, I’ve only heard good things about that book. It’s supposed to be dark, edgy, and filled with some powerful female rage, but also poignant. But positive reviews and buzz since before it came out.
I just finished Glacier and it was great. Didnt want it to end!
My favorite audio book was My Grandmother Said To Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrick Backman. Best read of February …. hmmmm probably Iced by Karen Marie Moning. Really liked it.
Maryse, I dont have audible so I’m not eligible for giveaway but wanted to mention recent “listens” I enjoyed:
Heat Wave by Karina Halle (forgot to say this was audio in last post)
Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
Listen to Me by Kristen Proby
Audiobooks are ALL about the narration and these were all excellent!
I’ve got to make an updated audiobook favorites list. So many great recommendations here!!! 😀
Another awesome list to come…
My favourite read from February is probably The One by John Marrs – unique concept and it just stuck with me for a while.
I was lucky to have the ARC of Riot by Tillie Cole and that was great too!
Whew quite a few up there I want to one-click. Although, like MichelleS stories set in high school don’t usually appeal to me, so not sure about A Boy Like You and The Female of The Species. Like the premise of Speed Dating, but hate the cover.
My favorite read from February would be two books that were polar opposites. Mists of Serengeti and #1Crush. One made me cry and one made me laugh hysterically. Honorable mention would be Wardrobe Malfunction- OMG the “pin incident!”!! 🙂
Is it mean I’m enjoying this a tad bit ? It’s mean, I know. But still….
Amy, “I found a wonderful book. It’s amazing. Read it.”
Everyone, “ooooh. Let me go look.”
Amy, “Please, I can’t stop thinking about it.”
Everyone, “Oh….it’s YA. Huh.”
Amy, “Yes, but it devastated me.”
Everyone, “So, it has a high school in it? I mean if it had a zombie…”
Amy,”The heroine is amazing. So filled with hurt and rage.”
Everyone, “Mmm. Teenage girls are drama llamas.”
LOL bev!!!!!!!
I love your summaries. They’re always right on.
Except when you have imaginary conversations with some of us. LOL!!!!!!!! But I enjoy those too. It’s always nice to let us know when we’ve been a part of a conversation that we don’t know about. 😛
bev makes me day!!!!
Hahahahaha bev!!!! That’s priceless!
Lmao! Bev that’s perfect! Oh and Amy THAT BOOK SUCKS, the spoilers say so?
*runs to go check out sucky spoilers Ela speaks of*
Lol Leslie! At first I was all over Amy’s rec and then I started seeing the secret words that I CANNOT STOMACH
Ela, I knew it was too depressing/dark for me but I’m super book nosey and just HAD to know what fuss was about.
Ok…..so, um yeah….that book sounds like marmy times infinity. No book-wussies like me allowed for that one.
Amy, you have very large book-balls. Hee hee. (Hope Maryse not mad I said “balls”)
No not mad, Leslie. 😉
Made me *snort*
See I like dark! Kid napping, rape, assault…bring it on but psychotic “actions” like in this book, nope! I need some HEA romance in my dark reads.
Lmao! Not kid napping but kidnaping
I LOVE reading about kids napping. Totally beats kids awake!
Ah so many look so good! I’m saving myself for KAs new one I think. I don’t have time for anything right now
And the rest of my comment disappeared again
Ela scares me.
Lmao bev *insert creepy laugh* why oh why would I scare you darling?
I can see your point Robin! They’re quiet then…lmao
Leslie! That book sounds nothing like Marmy but SCARY PSYCHO
Favorite audio – The Player by Kresley Cole
Ela, the ENDING and shock factor seems marmy-worthy to me…but I’m no expert. Amy will have to be the judge of that. 😉
I do enjoy some dark/twisty reads…but not often and they need to have decent ending.
Jezebel is one you guys all loved. That was NOT my type book.
What book is Leslie talking about?
I like Marmy books!!!! 😀
Ahhh Jezebel, loved I did….see it had some romance!
Awwww! The Life of Anna books were just wow! And the Debt books! Wow!
Well. Okay then.
😕
Bev, not mean, just brilliantly mischievous!! Hahahahaha!!!!!! 😉
I’m sorry Amy.
Just teasing.
I have not read it, but it reminds me of another book Amy loved that many of you all did too. Including Ella, MichelleS, and both Lisas.
Though I have not read that book either…
Thank you for making me feel better Cheryl.
KC’s latest release…..FABI
KC?
Kresley Cole. It’s an M/M book.
It’s all good, bev. 😉
Why thank you, Maryse. Lol. You all make my day often.
The book is The Female of the Species.
I’d had it on my tbr until I read spoilers…kind of wish I hadn’t seen them.
Definitely sounds Marmy. The reviewer at SBTB said she was writing the review with tears drying on her face.
At Forever Young Adult said about the heroine ( and this kills me), “…and while she is a little too cold blooded for the warm fuzzies, I love her with a tenderness that makes my heart break.”
Sigh.
I’m still tempted, but don’t think I can.
HEY HEY HEY
The Serpent King is only 1.99 right now. One of my favorites last year. Great sense of place, characters, and friendships. A bit of romance too.
Also, I haven’t read it but The Star Touched Queen is on sale. I did buy it at full price though. :/
Fantasy and I believe a take on Hades and Persephone.
Don’t Marmy’s rip your heart out and stomp on them till they’re dust? I didn’t get that feeling from this book. It was twisty and completely engrossing, bada&$, and in my opinion the ending was perfect. The characters are so captivating, and you really feel for them, and it’s easy to be consumed by the story. I didn’t want to stop once I started. I didn’t think it was a scary read at all, give it a shot, try a sample! 😉
Nope. Sometimes they are just emotional, sometimes angsty, sometimes it does take your heart, put it through the wringer, and then makes you melt because of the HEA. Those you feel like you just were well rewarded with a HEA. Sometimes they are twisty, sometimes surprising and fun, and lastly, sometimes will make you yell at the character in upset just so they get it, only to be happy when they finally do.
Well in that case, that sounds like everything great in a book? How come more don’t like Marmy’s?
Tasha, for some of us, real life is Marmy enough without looking for it in books. Books are my happy place always tied up with a sweet HEA.
That’s sort of what I was afraid of. Not just HEA’s, but I had this misconception that they stomped your heart out and would make me super depressed. But Tessa said there are HEA’s, and are suprising and fun, and anger before happiness, and emotional meltiness. I like to melt.
Lol, I don’t know if a definition has ever been decided. Some do have happy endings. But maybe the heroine fell in love with her boss and had an affair before hand. A Marmy lover is swoony and maybe hoping she gets pregnant just to increase the sweet pain.
There is that whole list of them.
I’ve enjoyed a few it just depends on where the volume is set.
Most Marmy’s usually want it set at 11. 😉
So KA’s upcoming release is getting unfavorable feedbacks. I guess her followers do not like her genre change etc blah blah blah! If the synopsis doesn’t appeal to you and you’re not a fan of bdsm THEN DONT EFFIN READ IT GEEZ! I for one am excited for this book and what’s wrong with an alpha male submitting for once? It shows he’s secure with his sexuality, no?
Ela, that sucks! I am seriously looking forward to the change in genre from her!
It’s not for me, but that doesn’t mean she can not shake things up.
Feyness caught my eye, cause it’s got FEY in the title! So I read the blurb… doesn’t sound like a Fae book??? Sounds dark. Really dark. And it’s short! Dark needs to be LONG so you can really feel it. Anyone read this little dittie?
BUDDY READ!
Ooh! KA is shaking things up? About time!
Kresley Cole wrote an m/m??? Need to check that out! What is it??
I’m loving my current read. Long, slow, but really cool world building & amazing characters. My catnip! The Weaving Man. If you like interesting, unique, a study in characters, Victorian steam punk sci-fi feel. I don’t even know WHAT genre this is! I am totally in love with the lead character, Menders. A very imperfect hero. And his rag-tag team of outcasts protecting the future queen. Totally my kind of read!!!
Ela – you mentioned Life of Anna and the In Debt series, so I’m just going to assume you read and loved the Original Sinners series??? Please tell me you read that?
And The Comfort series???
That whole series is bundled for 7.99 and free with KU! Very forbiddeny!! And sexy. Twisted.
Shadow’s Seduction…
Loved Anna and Debt.
I only read the first book in the Sinners series, one aspect put me off, Soren’s position.
The Comfort series?
Ela, Ela, Ela…. you must continue with Original Sinners! Best EVER in that BDSM world. It will all make sense later!!!
Yes! The Comfort Series. Not comfortable! But if you’re okay with that kind of thing, I think you’d enjoy it. I gobbled it up. I’m debauched like that!
That was me too with Sinners Ela. I read book 1, but a certain aspect put me off from reading any more.
Loved LoA, but never read Debt because of my “titles issue”. LOL!!!
Michelle, your book sounds interesting. I’m going to go look it up.
Hey, Tessa? Have you read Red Winter? It is a fantasy on KU. I downloaded it last night….Though not reading yet. Has elements of Japanese mythology. Saw it rec’d and it looks good.
Oh Fabi. I don’t think I’ve told you yet today how much I love you.
LOL R !!!
I can’t believe I’m the only one turned of by titles that don’t strike my fancy.
A title that did call me just now is The Legacy Series Boxed Set (Legacy, Prophecy, Revelation, and AWOL) by Ellery A. Kane. At $1.99 for four books I don’t think I can do too wrong with this one.
I always think of R’s vegetables when I’m debating getting a sale/low price book.
LOL! I have a squash potentially meeting it’s demise if I don’t eat it today. And I’m not feeling particularly squash-y.
Makes me want to re read Sea of T, see if I still feel the same. Won’t be any time soon though. That’s one problem with accumulating so many new reads, it takes away from re reads. I love a re read. It can be such a great comfort.
Just chiming in on the mention of Original Sinners series. I can’t keep my mouth shut when it comes to this one. I don’t like heavy BDSM at all….but for some reason this series fascinated me. I totally get the reasons why some of you didn’t like it. I just dont want anyone to be afraid to try it. I also put off reading 50 for a long time because of the BDSM aspect (ridiculous as that book is tame in BDSM world)
I still have to finish The White Years part of Original Sinners but first four books are awesome-sauce.
Finished The Butterfly Project. In a book-love fog now. Loved it, although I did expect more angst. Beautifully written story with broken, but loveable Zelda and Beckett. *sigh* now what to read…
I had a sh!t Friday which led to a sh!t Saturday today is not looking much better, and I need a bit of fun randomness right now.
Soooooo…three things time!
1. I love living in a rainy state.
2. My, er, very round neighbor just took off on a moped and was bouncing on it all the way down the street. I died.
3. Can you imagine how funny we would look if when we went running or jogging we didn’t wear athletic clothes?
*hugs* Amy!!!
I’m sorry you’ve had some bummish days. 🙁
LOL on the running clothes. I don’t have those. But then I don’t run, so…
*sigh*
I should run.
That last thought was mentioned on the radio the other day, and I can’t stop snickering thinking of how the runners and joggers around my house would look like they were running away from something… 😆
Bev, I put it on my wishlist. I have to look at what’s checked out in my KU books.
Debt series really was good. I can see the title being boring (though appropriately named) but it was so twisted and disturbing. The second debt still replays in my head. It hit that form of creepy for me.
I wish I could like Original Sinners. I have toouch back knowledge and female domme stories don’t ever work for me. 🙁
Amy, I am sorry. 🙁
1. I run to the morning bus stop often, and yes I wonder if anyone watching thinks I’m being chased.
2. It’s snowing and I’m going to go for a walk and buy ice cream.
3. I have my oil diffuser on with sandalwood and orange oil in it.
There is something about the image of your neighbor that sounds joyful. 🙂
I hope they wear a helmet.
What’s so hilariously awesome about it is that he is one of those people who doesn’t give a crap what anyone thinks. I swear, it was hysterical, LOL!!
Eating ice cream while it’s snowing…THAT is the action of a true pacific northwesterner!!
Like drinking coffee through a stirrer straw. 😉
Three things.
1. It’s raining again. So everyone is panicking that the creek will overflow again. Which makes me very glad to not live in San Jose.
2. I bought new tennnis shoes yesterday. They’re pink and make me smile. 😀
3. A few days before Valentine’s day, my family in Southern CA had a Valentine’s party and my niece’s boyfriend proposed to her during it. 😀 I watched the video of the proposal and totally started crying happy tears.
Tessa that’s so sweet… <3
Also, pink makes me smile, too.
1. It’s in the 70s here and I’m making chili and tamales. Think I need to trade with bev.
2. If you see me running, call 911. I AM being chased.
3. I just did the drawing for my newsletter for a signed copy of The Butterfly Project and I’m soooooo excited because someone from here won! I’m about to email her!
1. The bathroom vanity/sink and toilet have finally been installed and now I’m spending hours today deciding on a mirror…and also towel hooks
2. My daughter has finally gotten better from ear infection complications, and her snarky dramatics are back in full swing! Lol, yay
3. I can’t wait to watch another episode of Big Little Lies tonight! 🙂
Oh Tasha I love Big Little Lies!!!
And yay on the progress!!
Thanks ladies…your random things have put a big ol’ smile on my face! 😀
*huggles*
Also 4. Buzzballs Choco Tease is super yummy!
I know Amy….but I’ve started to use an umbrella regularly.
*hangs head in shame*
I want a homemade tamale.
I don’t know if I’ve even had a tamale, but I do want one.
Well that sucks Amy. *big hug*
1. We are just about finished with installing chair-rail and faux wainscoting in my foyer and I. LOVE.IT!!! (and I didn’t shoot my hubby in the balls, like I threatened multiple times)!!
2. It’s cold, but sunny out, so I may go for a run (in running clothes).
3. Finally took the leap and got my hair cut and went platinum!!
Oh Cheryl I bet it’s pretty!
And I wish I was the type that would just … go for a run. LOL!!!!
I do like to walk though. 😉
#1 addendum: with the nail-gun. 😉
So Shadows Seduction ended well for that couple but I feel it ended on a sort of cliffy! Grrrrrr
Who’s the author for the Comfort series?
The tamales aren’t homemade unfortunately 🙁
Platinum blonde? Fun.
I keep wavering between cutting some inches off or growing some inches out.
Anyone want to give an opinion? Imagine tile gray floors, light gray walls, with a cream stencil on the toilet/vanity wall. Chrome/nickel? light fixture. I’m into a sort of eclectic style, love Moroccan and Spanish tiles, mosaics, patchworks. I thought to do a pop of color with the mirror, just paint a dark teal or blue, but that requires work and time I don’t have. Then I figured I was really into the gold since a lot of my Pinterest pics have that, but then I’d need a pop somewhere. Then I saw the tile and mosaics and I just love them all.
Amy sorry for the sh!tty days. 🙁
You ladies are hilarious. Cheryl :-O
Three things
1. I’m still on schedule for my March reads (for the most part)
2. I just spent an hour paying Scarborough Fair on my guitar (why?)
3. I’m hungry, ee have tons of leftovers, but I wanna make bacon and eggs. (cravings)
Fabi life’s too short to not eat what you’re craving (of course within reason… or else maybe life will be even shorter). 😛
R! Are you going tell us who won?
No because that person may not want anyone to know for whatever reason. Like what if she secretly hates butterflies? Or what if she’d rather die a thousand deaths than admit she opened my newsletter (that one is fairly probable…). It’s up to her if she mentions it or not. 😀
Oh platinum blonde, pretty!! I’m going this week for the second application to my big change. I hadn’t previously died it in 2 years so we had to do a couple sessions to get the desired effect. https://www.instagram.com/p/BJGzUOLjW0v/ Sort of like this except my hair is lighter and with a hint of rose gold/lavender at the bottom. It’s very subtle, we didn’t do the roots so I won’t have to go back for a really long time. I’m excited! And the chair rail/wainscoting sounds amazing Cheryl, I love the look of that!
Lavender! That’s cool!
Amy I just sent you a mimosa, did you get it? I left out the OJ.
Sounds pretty Tasha!!
Author is Annabel Joseph.
Three things:
1.) I have a neighbor that looks like The Rock, who drives an Odyssey minivan, with the window down, singing. I get a kick out of it every time I see him.
2.) I’m making potato soup for dinner because it’s wet & cold & gloomy in North Texas today.
3.) I bought a set of Accent chairs on Wayfair.com and hope they’re not total Chinese junk!
Three things:
1.) I’m making a pot roast in the slow cooker with tons of veggies.
2.) It has a packet of ranch dressing AND A WHOLE jar of banana pepper rings (juice and all). Oh I KNOW it sounds crazy, but this is a known recipe and it is delicious. The “sour” tames down a ton in the cooking process, and actually helps tenderize and tame that rich meat gamey-ness.
3.) Here’s an example: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=who+jar+of+pepperoncinis+including+juice&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#q=whole+jar+of+pepperoncinis+including+juice&*
Even the Pioneer woman does it!!! https://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/hot-spicy-italian-drip-beef/
THE WHOLE jar of pickled peppers AND juice. Trust me, I was shaking my head too… but I gave it a go last month and went crazy for it. :D!!!!
Oh! And I ordered a Gin & Tonic with my burger at Hula Hut last night & the young waiter looked at me like I was some old lush! Is that a big drink for lady alcoholics? They taste good!
I think it’s ’cause it’s Gin. 😉
*shudders*
Guess I better order a mango margarita next time.
Hula Hut’s a chain now!? When did that happen? Do they still have the Thai BBQ fajitas? Yummmm!
I think this is only the second Hula Hut? It’s right on the lake. Didn’t look at Fajitas! They do have some weird combos though.
We ran out of rum once and made “gin-aiquiris.” I shall never drink gin again.
In other news, my chili is HORRIBLE so I’m eating bev’s ice cream for lunch.
Tasha, definitely on the La Fuente mirror looks perfect for your color choices, as well as it will add that Moroccan flair that you mentioned.
Oh no! I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad chili, but I hate when things don’t turn out the way you want them to!
I keep wanting to dye my hair strawberry blonde. Yet, I don’t think I would until after summer, just because I swim so much, the colors would get washed out. On top of that, my hair changes color in the pool. EVERY TIME! I get these random honey blonde streaks. Ass that to the dark brown, light brown and red and dark blonde… it’s just weird.
I saw that on your IG this AM and totally looked it up! Sounds amazing!
Luckily the chili recipe I tried wasn’t my own. It was *out there* so I figured it would either be stellar or awful. Oh well. There’s still tamales and a pot of beans!
I LOVE Mexican tiles! And that mirror is gorgeous!
And Lisa A. won the book Fabi. 😀
Woohoo Lisa A. WTG!
Oh my! You you need tamales! Even bad ones are good!
Three Things:
1 – Just got back from Lego Batman movie and now all I want to do is nap.
2 – No nap for me as I am doing laundry, about to start cooking ravioli for dinner and then have to cut my sons hair.
3 – You wouldnt catch me running (with or without workout clothes) even IF my life depended on it.
Three more things:
I freaking LOVE ice cream. ALL weather is ice cream weather.
Im gonna get a moped when I retire and move to Florida in 20+ years. I’ll be a crazy old lady that will make Amy laugh.
We are doing re-painting here. Just picked two greens for my connected living room and dining room.
Maryse, I’m still craving those olive oil green beans you made before.
I swear all those years of lurking gave me diarrhea of the mouth as I cant seem to keep quiet today.
Yes! I’m glad someone else is watching BLL, I love all the drama and actors, and it’s fun knowing others are watching with me! 🙂 I’m also a part of the no runners club, but I own ‘athletic’ pants and shorts. They’re comfy. 😉 I saw Lego Batman this week also and I may have drifted off for a few minutes a couple times. Lol, it wasn’t a bad movie, just not my thing. Thanks for your input on the mirrors everyone! I was so set on the funky color, and then the gold for the longest time. The tile just came about last night and I fell in love, but once my mind was set on one thing, I had to question more which was the way to go. It hurts my brain!! 😛 Now to pick a color, order it, and done!
I like that Spanish tile mirror too.
It would have to be a mild pepper, but I like sour tangy foods.
Lemons, mild peppercini, green olives, and pickles. So in and so on.
I even lean toward vinegary bbq sauces.
Speaking of ice cream, I’m not a huge fan. Never have been, but I’ll do milkshakes. We have this local place, Jeni’s Ice Cream (they sell all over and online too) and they have some really weird combinations, but they’re amazing! I have a pint of goat cheese and red cherries in the freezer that’s been calling my name. And their Wildberry Lavendar is to die for.
Ok, maybe for a laugh…. Tell me what you think of when you look at this: https://www.shopplasticland.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=P60329005&Category_Code=Home-Decor
Leslie M, how was the movie? Little dude LOVES Batman and the Lego movie, so I think he’ll like it.
That hand… It’s for my dream haunted house. 😀
Scares me.
Lol that was the general consensus I got when I excitedly showed everyone my cool eclectic find. To me, it made me think of Greek mythology for some reason. And I love reading about the Gods and stuff, so I thought how cool would that be for a hand towel hook. Everyone else thought it was creepy. My hubby cracked a joke that it could hold Andes mints and you could grab em on your way out. It says Victorian Gypsy flair! 😉
Tasha that hand is totally something I need for my office to hang my purse on!
Oh, I could totally see that too R!
The shipping is $8 though!
That’s sucks, I never checked that far. It says its cast iron and not plastic per the websites name. So hopefully not cheapy. Maybe it’s available somewhere else for less? I’m going to check and see if it goes with my mirror and other towel hooks that I haven’t chosen yet bc I really love it. And it’s not something you see every day. Lol
Let’s talk romance.
Who is one of your favorite couples?
One of mine is Evie & Sebastian from Devil in Winter.
She is a quiet wallflower with a stutter and he is arrogant and the bad guy of the previous book. Such great chemistry and banter. Love witty characters. They challenge each other and bring out the best in each other.
Tasha, that hand thing is SUPER cool. I love it and think it would be a great conversation piece.
Tessa, Lego Batman was cute & funny. It was a movie birthday party for us. All the kids from age 5 to 16, loved it.
For your purpose Tasha, I’d get it for sure regardless of shipping!
Bev, my fave romance couple? That’s a toughie. I have so many. Of course Bella & Edward. But let me think of some others that had to really work to get to their HEA.
Thank you Leslie! I hope he loves it. We have to wait for the movie to come to DVD because his hearing is so acute that movie theater movies literally hurt him. 🙁
Favorite couple? Elena and Raphael. Their romance is just so much about partnership, being what the other person needs, being each other’s best friend, and the one moment in the first book that really was the epitome of their relationship, I could read five hundred times and still never get tired of it.
Because I watched Hunger Games last night, I’d say Katniss & Peeta come to mind. I love how Katniss tried NOT to love him for so long but he kept loving her anyway. It was a nice switch for the h to be the bada$$ and H to be sweet one. All the horrible things they went through broke my heart but they always saved each other. *swoon*
Tessa, thats too bad about the movie theater. Even with noise reducing headphones its too much? My son couldnt tolerate the sensory overload of movies for a long time. But when he was around 10, he all of sudden liked it and it no longer bothers him.
Tessa, You probably know this, I believe that some theaters have times when they offer movies with the sound turned down. And also other adjustments for children and families with sensory needs.
They do. The one for Batman, though, was at the same time as a playtime class he had. *shrugs* He still loves it even in the house. We have every Saturday movie night, so when it comes out, he’ll see it that Saturday. 😀 We saw Sing last night, and he was laughing hysterically through the whole thing.
He won’t wear the ear cancelling headphones. I think he likes hearing things, but doesn’t like when it’s extreme, though you should hear how loud he turns up his computer. *rolls eyes* I can hear it through his headphones and I’m hard of hearing!
There are SO many! Simon and Baz, Aelin and Rowan, Dex and Perry, Charley and Reyes, Kathleen Turner and her beau, Travis and Abby. I’m sure I’m forgetting some of the greats.
What book are Elena and Raphael from Tessa?
Lol.
I was thinking that even with adjustments it could still be sensory overload for some. Alot of people making noise, the lights, sound, and the smell of different foods.
We always talk about favorite books and heroes, alot get repeated. Just thought fun to pick a random favorite couple that are great together.
The Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. The first book is Archangel’s Blood. Seriously, I’ve read it so many times, and that one part just touches my heart every time.
Second place would go to Charles and Ana of the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. She was so strong in spite of her circumstances and he was her savior, but her heart and gentleness was what he needed. *happy sigh*
Third place is Vlad and Leila in Jeanine Frost’s Night Prince series. Again, they are what the other needs, but he’s such a jerk, and she is so in the dark that there is a lot of work needed to make any steps forward.
Tasha, I like the tile looking mirror that is one color vs. the multi-color one. Think the hand would be fun for holding a hand towel.
My favorite couples are also my book husbands: Rhage & Mary, and Jamie & Claire.
I also liked Tristan & Isobel (Seduced by a Highlander), and Mercy & Adam.
I like the h as much as the H in each of these stories.
And Bowen & Mariketa from IAD2.
Checking out some of my reads, there were so many where I remembered the H and the story itself more than the heroine, even her name, and them as a couple. Thanks for your input Cheryl, I’m checking those out too! There’s a predominantly yellow and a blue, as well as the multi colored one and I really love both of those as well.
Yes Tessa! Exactly. Charles and Anna! Also Will Sumner and Hanna Bergstrom. Justin Alastair and Leonie (you know where I’m comin’ from, bev). Nathaniel Gascoigne and Sophia Armitage (from HR Irresistible). Gah, there’re so many………
I’m with Tasha on this one. I tend to remember the H, but not necessarily the h. Unless the h was the distinct MC.
Me too, Fabi…
Even IF she’s the main character, I generally tend to forget. My theory is because I’m “her” in my head, so… 😉
I may need drumroll for this…
I just finished my Sunday read and I think I’m going to watch TV for an hour or so. :-O
I honestly can’t remember the last time I watched TV. It’s been months.
Just finished watching BLL!! What did you think Maryse? I think it was a much more emotional episode. I love Ed, he’s the sweetest and so grounded. And I think it’s hilarious Nathan is afraid of him. Lol. Maraline’s family drama made me sad for her. Is it bad, that I also kind of love Perry and Celeste? It’s not right, I know, but I feel their love for each other. I think Alexander Skarsgard does an excellent job of portraying the different sides of his character.
My hand is over my chest. It literally hurts my heart you all forget the heroines.
Monseigneur and his enfant, lol.
So you forget yourself.
Oh, Maryse.
We remember you.
We do.
And that you said you’d read Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda.
No heroine so you won’t forget yourself.
I look out for you.
Bev, it’s FINALLY here!! Tell the Truth, Shame the Devil is MINE for the next 21 days. I’m starting tomorrow or possible Tuesday bc tomorrow’s really busy! 😀
Ok. Whoa. Ok. Be honest, but oh I hope you like it.
I watched tv too. Watched The Arrangement, because the premise was a common one in CR. Famous Actor makes arrangement with fake girlfriend. So far, better in books.
Cheryl, it’s always better in books. 🙂
LOL Fabi. Usually true.
I know this is late – I rarely have time to catch up on this blog over the weekend. I prefer to do all my catching up at work….shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone. It was me who won the signed copy of The Butterfly Project. I never win nuffin…and I have absolutely nothing that is signed. So it’s super extra double special!
Congrats Lisa!!! 🙂
Favorite couple… Me and Adam Levine. *giggle* I have been so sick. Sorry girls, let me finish catching up.
LOL Grey!!!!!!!!
TV? What is this “Tee-vee” you talk about?
LOL. The only TV I watch lately is CNN, and I really should try to stop doing that. Gets my blood pressure boiling!
I have the last season of Game of Thrones and Outlander recorded on my DVR and still haven’t watched them. I feel like there are so many books out there and I can’t get to them all in my lifetime.
I watch The Voice and am caught up. Does that count? I’m behind on Supernatural because I really didn’t like a secondary character. I’m caught up with Game of Thrones. I stopped watching Once Upon a Time because Emma can’t be a good villain. It comes off cheesy. I do need to catch up on Emerald City and start The Magicians. *shakes head* There are some good tv shows that I just get caught up reading and forget. Yet, I have almost every single Spongebob episode memorized. *sighs*
Favorite couple…Aiden and Alex from the Covenant series.
Alex because she is still my girl crush years later.
And Aiden because…he’s Aiden. *drops chin in hand and sighs*
MichelleS, get your butt to the sofa, turn on this crazy “tee-vee” contraption and WATCH OUTLANDER!!!
It was soooooo good. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful costumes, amazing acting and heart wrenching storylines. I cried. I actually kind of hate most tv, but fell in love with Outlander.
Whats Game of Thrones like? I wondered if thats something me and hubs could watch together. I havent a clue what its even about.
I rarely ever finish a series. I’ll watch x amount of episodes, and it can be fantastic, but I get easily distracted. And I really don’t have time to get invested in a show when there are so many books to read and things to do. There’s always a kids show or movie here on the other hand, and I do watch them more than my own. I also got into Once Upon a Time a couple years ago, was obsessed cuz I binge watched it, and then stopped once Cruella and those villains were introduced. For no real reason really, I just stopped. I’ll watch an episode from the Voice here and there, I’ve watched about 3 eps. of Chicago P.D. and I really liked that. I also binge watched Supernatural for a while, loved it, but I let it go too. Watched every single episode of White Collar, except the last. So I’m a sampler I guess. Lol. That’s why these mini series shows are perfect for me. If you ever watched Despererate Housewives and liked that, this (Big Little Lies) is kind of what it reminds me of.
Leslie…Game of Thrones is GREAT!! It is gritty and bloody and violent though, so just a heads up. I watch it with my hubby. 😉
I thought about trying to get past my Reese/Nicole prejudices and watching BLL, but I saw another commercial yesterday and seeing RW and NK for only a few seconds was like nails on a chalkboard for me. DANGIT. 😕
What’s BLL?
I’ve tried “tee-vee” contraption, but it’s during my reading time!! In the past I watched Grimm, Life on Mars, all the Star Trek Next Generation… in a nerd.
I’m a nerd.., ugh.. thumb typing sucks.
I also watched some of True Blood.
Game of Thrones is awesome! I was all caught up until up halfway through last season. Then a bunch of great books got in the way. And my divorced brother moved in. Feel sorry for me dangit. He’s on Match.com, for Chripessakes!!!
Hahaha Michelle S, that sounds like a great plot for a book! 😉 Amy, that sucks. I can think of one actor off hand that does that for me though, so I understand. Will Farrell. Can’t stand him.
BLL is Big Little Lies, I’m watching every Sunday for the next 4? weeks and updating what I think of the show. It’s a mini series based off the book by Liane Moriarty.
Big Little Lies is BLL. I watch Scandal, Outlander and The Affair. I have BLL on my DVR to binge watch with my bestie though. I did watch True Blood. I’m looking for a new show actually… Something amazing… We have eleventy billion channels but I don’t watch hardly any TV. Suggestions?
Grey…Westworld. It’s only one season in and SO freaking good.
You know what else I’m finding? When books are made into movies and they use big name stars. It’s like I’ve seen the actor or actress so many times and then just can’t picture them as a beloved character. It seems like I need someone little known or fairly new (to me, at least) in Hollywood, like how JLaw was when she started making HG, in order to really accept them in a book role. Me Before You worked because I’ve only really seen Emilia Clarke with white hair in GoT and Sam Claflin in Pirates of the Carribean and HG.
Yeah, I’m not particular and ridiculous or anything. *snort*
I’ve just started watching Big Little Lies (only episode 1 so far) and I loved it. I have 2 more to catch up on.
Amy, first off, not surprised about your couple. 😀
I want to watch Westworld. I’ve been curious about it since last year aroundd this time when I read a small synopsis. Then… I read instead.
I want to read Outlander first. *sighs* I swear, I keep trying, but then get distracted.
I watched Trueblood until the season that Bill got the erm, promotion. Then, it just annoyed me to much.
Leslie, Game of Thrones! Watch it! It’s so good, with twist, betrayal, tons of relationships (not just romance, but friendships, family, alliances too), and how they play out, and um, warning. TONS of nudity. lol Also, lots of death. Don’t like anyone. They will probably die. 😛
“Don’t like anyone. They will probably die.”
That pretty much guarantees I will never watch the show. LOL!
Tessa, you are funny!!
Well, I hate when people die but hubs watches Walking Dead, so he is used to it.
The books that GoT are based off of are amazing. Such good reads.
Pitched is awesome. I think any Kulti fans should give it a shot.
Lol there are some great deaths! The show has some real horrible people that, when they die, you feel like having a party.
Pitched? The show?
Fabi, I’m lucky. My favorite isn’t dead yet (I think). That’s good, right?
Stannis.
👿
Right? Grrrr
Worst. Scene. Ever.
Yep. Honestly, the thing that happened later made me so happy because of THAT scene.
Oh HECK yeah!
I’ve been lurking for years
LOL Ashley!! Well I’m glad you’ve come out of “lurking” even if it was just to tell us. 😉
*hug*
Omg it was totally supposed to say I’ve been lurking for years and I want to recommend “A Boy Like You” as my new fave book. See? This is why I lurk. I can’t even comment correctly.
