Okay I know…. you’re wondering. But Maryse… today is THURSDAY!! I know it. I do. But today is also a CRAZY AWESOME release day, and I just didn’t feel it was right to wait until tomorrow to post all of these.
And no worries, I will be updating this post all day tomorrow too, with all the actual Friday ones, too. 🙂

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND !!
- Make Me Bad by R.S. Grey <— R.S. GREY’S LATEST IS LIVE TODAY!! She’s the good girl and she’s been warned to STAY AWAY from him… “…Everyone thinks Ben is going to ruin me. They think he’ll chew me up and spit me out. Well, Ben…go ahead. Tempt me. Taunt me. Make me bad…”

The person I love most in the world is gone. And in the darkness I’ve been reborn, into a person I don’t recognize…”
- Soul’s Fire (The Northwomen Sagas Book 3) by Susan Fanetti <— JAN RECOMMENDS IT!
Jan: Soul’s Fire by Susan Fanetti. This is her series about strong Viking women. If you liked The Vikings TV series, I rec these books. I’m really liking this one. There is a dark section *shudders* but it’s a beautiful love story between an English Prince and a bad-girl-tough-Viking-woman.
- Off the Air (Running on Air Book 1) by L.H. Cosway <— L.H. COSWAY ALERT!!! EXES ON A REALITY SHOW TOGETHER… Nay wants to read this one, and recommends that IF YOU do too…:
Nay: I’m so excited to finally find something that I KNOW I want to read! FYI, if you’re planning to read Off the Air and care about reading about characters from another series–the MC’s were introduced in Hearts on Air (bk #6 of the Hearts series), but there’s also a free prequel called Air Kiss: A Running on Air Novella that tells how the couple met. And it’s free!
So I’d imagine that that gives enough info so that you don’t feel lost (at least I hope so). I’m going to read it now, and then I’ll see if I want to continue…
- Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell <— One of my 4.5-STAR FAVORITES IS SUPER-BARGAIN PRICED right now!!! (Thanks for the find, Kat!!) We all loved this one SO much. And here’s my review.
The Birthday List (Maysen Jar Book 1) by Devney Perry <— Kathy P found us THIS freebie!!
Kathy P: The Birthday List by Devney Perry is free. It is about a woman whose husband dies who tries to complete his bucket list. Definitely recommend reading it!
Ashley: that was a good one!
- The Unlikeable Demon Hunter (Nava Katz Book 1) by Deborah Wilde <— Tessa recommends this one!
Tessa: The Unlikeable Demon Hunter by Deborah Wilde. Hillarious and still emotional at the same time. And, despite the title, I like the MC a lot.
Kiss and Break Up by Ella Fields <— The latest by Ella Fields IS LIVE!! They were best friends since childhood, but then... “…All it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths. You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend. You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else. And the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend. Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything…”
- Murphy: Satan’s Fury MC-Memphis by L. Wilder
- Daisy Jones & The Six: A Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid <— Michele G LOVED IT!!
Michele G: I know opinions are mixed on Daisy Jones but I LOVED it! It really struck a chord with me (see what I did there…music pun lol). I mean it is different from her earlier books (which will always be my faves) but I knew that going in and I enjoyed it for the artistic book it was.
Anyway, even though I read it, I am on the wait list for the audio with my library because I think it will be a phenomenal audiobook!
Lisa: …anyone on the fence about Daisy Jones, I highly recommend it. I loved the style it was written in – and I’m not much of a rock star storyline reader, but found myself engrossed.
Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah <— Mona is LOVING it! “…her solitary routine is disrupted by the appearance of a mysterious child who shows up at her cabin barefoot and covered in bruises. The girl calls herself Ursa, and she claims to have been sent from the stars to witness five miracles. With concerns about the child’s home situation, Jo reluctantly agrees to let her stay—just until she learns more about Ursa’s past…”
Mona: I’m now reading Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah, it’s KU. I’m about 43% into it and don’t want to put it down. I was expecting paranormal but it’s really not that.
Tasha J: Mona, Where the Forest Meets the Stars sounds amazing! I shall definitely try that one, thanks! 😀
Incognito by Siobhan Davis <— SUPER-BARGAIN!! THE POP STAR & THE SMALL TOWN GIRL ALERT!! “...jaded by an industry forcing him to perform music he no longer enjoys, he craves normalcy and the opportunity to rediscover his muse. When a crazy stalker gets too close, and death threats start mounting, Shawn’s management team comes up with a plan—one which will allow him to work on his latest album while staying incognito on a college campus. Kooloo: I’m reading/listening to one them right now called “Naked in Death” LOOOVE IT!
Norma: When I began reading Naked in Death, I got hooked, so I started a campaign to collect all those old books from the In Death series. (Flea Mkts & Used book stores) Now I’m up to #35 and still have about 10 more to read yet. I’ve read then in order and it’s so fun keeping track of Eve , Roarke, Peabody, Mavis, Feeney, etc etc. I don’t know how long Nora will continue this series, but I sure hope it is several more years yet.
Bennett Mafia by Tijan <— We have feedback on Tijan’s latest!! 😀 Carly LOVED it (despite the consequences). LOL!!
Carly: I read Tijan’s new release in one sitting. I let my girls do pretty much whatever they wanted today. They’re both under 4. The house is still standing but a wreck. I have no regrets IT WAS AWSOOOOOMMEEEE!!
Autumn: Started it today and loving it so far
Lisa M: I finished reading Bennett Mafia today!! So good. I couldn’t stop reading!! Tijan is the best! Highly recommend!! Heavy sigh so sad it’s over. Book hangover in the middle of the day!

Tessa: If you haven’t read it, Dirty Headlines by LJ Shen. It was awesome and light, funny, just greatness.
MichelleS: I just finished Dirty Headlines, by LJ Shen. 4 stars. She really knows how to write that jerk-face alpha I love to hate.
Left Hanging by Cindy Dorminy <— SUPER-BARGAIN!! I LOVE THIS COVER & THE BLURB EVEN MORE!!! “…As a nurse and single mom, Darla Battle hides her loneliness behind a smile. The Last Wingman (Wingmen Book 6) by Daisy Prescott <— LIVE!! HE ENJOYS HIS SOLITUDE UNTIL SHE MOVES TO TOWN… “…June seems content running her yarn shop, knitting with the local church ladies, and avoiding me. She’s a temptress in a hand-knit sweater. And for some reason, she’s not a fan of mine. It might be the tattoos. Or the beard. Or the fact that we’re polar opposites. A woman has finally caught my attention. Too bad she thinks she hates me. Good thing I’m stubborn enough to try to change her mind...”

Sorry, but those are the rules.
You made them so you must live by them.
LOL!!!!! Tell The Truth it is! 😀
*snort* on the rules. 😉 :P!!!
What’s this? A new Thursday post?
I also chose I’m Fine and Neither Are You for my March Amazon First pick.
If you do and it is not for you I understand. I worry the first part may lean too procedural, though then more towards character driven. Love Bish.
A little early this week Nay…. too many cool-sounding books went live in the last 24 hours so I had to post it.
I finally did it – my first Rainbow Rowell book (and she even is from here and I’ve not read any of her work). I could no longer resist, and I just one clicked Eleanor and Park. And anyone on the fence about Daisy Jones, I highly recommend it. I loved the style it was written in – and I’m not much of a rock star storyline reader, but found myself engrossed.
*throws glitter for bev being first*
I’ll put my FLT over here.
Astrid kicked on her mother’s door.
It’s from Soul’s Fire by Susan Fanetti. This is her series about strong Viking women. If you liked The Vikings TV series, I rec these books.
I’m really liking this one. There is a dark section *shudders* but it’s a beautiful love story between an English Prince and a bad-girl-tough-Viking-woman.
Wait…what is this. *Throws Thursday glitter* I’m watching GoT… surprised? 😆 I just won a giveaway for Tijan’s newest and am so excited!
Omg Grey you are so lucky!!!! I finished reading Bennett Mafia today!! So good. I couldn’t stop reading!! Tijan is the best! Highly recommend!! Heavy sigh so sad it’s over. Book hangover in the middle of the day! I’ve been on a reading frenzy this week & it’s only Thursday!!! Damaged Queen by Sam Crescent I was shaking while ready it. Crazy I know!! So freaking good!! I couldn’t wait to read it. Now I want to read all her other books. Then there’s Becoming his Monster by Amelia Hutchins!! Started the week with this one. Loved it!!!! Crazy good!!
I just added some of your recommendations from these comments, up there. :D!!!
This is not ‘Nam. This is Maryse’s blog. There are rules!!
Tasha–My son texted me from school today about buying an international snack box that was only $1 for the first month (12 snacks), so when he got home I showed him the Universal Yums website, and we ordered both of them!
The $1 one shipped today (he was able to pick the country and he thinks he picked Turkey–obviously a man since he doesn’t remember! lol), and we just have to cancel the subscription or it’ll ship again in a month for $25.
The Universal Yums box will ship on 3/15, and we got the one-time $25 12-snack one. And I have to admit, I looked ahead to see what country it’ll be by searching back to March, 2017, but I didn’t think of doing that until he’d already placed the order. I’m excited to get them!
I devoured Make Me Bad and SWOOON I loved it. Funny and super cute.
About to start Bennett Mafia – sounds so good!
I’m going to try Make Me Bad and Rock Bottom Girl when I’ve finished Soul’s Fire.
BTW, GoT fans, the Northwomen Saga by Susan Fanetti might also appeal to you.
Anyone read Halo by Brooke Blaine/Ella Frank? Finished it the other day and it was soooo good. When I finished the book I immidiately went to chapter 1 and startede all over again. Looking forward to March 25 when Viper is released 🙂
Omg Nay, I am so tired that I read your post wrong. I thought you were Tasha talking to you. I kept thinking that wow, Tasha’s son must be so advanced to be able to do all that. Hee hee
I’m am idiot. I do that sometimes too with Jean, Jan and Jenn and posts sound funny. Then I go back and realize I read post wrong. Duh!
Lol Leslie! Mine is nowhere near that advanced. He surprises me daily by what he knows that I know I didn’t teach him though.
I missed this post yesterday, but WOW what a list! I’m definitely grabbing that RS Grey for my Unlimited and already got Where the Forest Meets the Stars. I’ll start that after I finish FantasyLand. I fell asleep early last night so I didn’t get to read much.
Nay, we also signed up for the box this month (Ukraine). They showed the recipe for the month already so you could buy ingredients ahead if you wanted and I think I just might. Let me know what he thinks of the other box he got! And you’ll have to let me know about you’re pastry box. The danger there is we’ll inhale them all right away. Maybe he’ll share some with you and we can try together! It’s so funny how different peoples tastes are.
*your
I’ve worn make up 3 days in a row this week (a feat that I haven’t accomplished in too many years to count) and I’m already so exhausted by it. Props to all of you who do this every day! It feels good to feel put together, gives me confidence and a better energy, but all the face washing (before and after) and removal- bah!!
Happy international women’s day to all you wonderful women.
The social media section on this. Especially the P&P (Never thought of it like this….love it more) and the dog crossing the street.
https://foreveryoungadult.com/2019/03/08/procrastination-pro-tips-march-8-2019/
Tasha–He’s definitely sharing, but I’ll let him have most of the box from Turkey.
Universal Yums must have changed their line-up of boxes. When I looked it up, I expected it to be Israel, but for me Ukraine is so much better since my grandparents came here from Russia. I can’t wait!
Happy International Women’s Day, all you wonderful women!
Jamie Begley who writes MC Books has added all of her books to KU. I have read a few of them and have liked them. Also, Ginger Scott has added 5 books to KU. Happy Weekend!
Have any of you watched Marie Kondo? I can’t decide if it really stresses me out or I like it. It does make me feel a little better about my home, I think.
P.S. I devoured the Marie Kondo series even though I don’t need to organize much. I’m quite the minimalist.
Er… that is, with things in general. Make up and clothes… yeah. Not so much. 😉 I have TOO much of both, so she DID help me with the whole “spark joy” pairing down my closet. While it WAS and IS organized (and even by color), I couldn’t even see half the clothes I loved because there was too much to choose from, and most was “meh” for me.
I want to watch Marie Kondo but I’m afraid of the potential stress factor. So, I keep procrastinating…much like the rest of my life.
Jan, since I like Vikings and GoT, I’m pretty sure I would like that series. I actually think I already have the first one on my TBR. It’s probably buried in there somewhere…maybe Marie Kondo could help me find it 😉
Sorry Maryse but I found the place we should all stay at besides your house. If we ever meet up this is where we need to stay.
Well it sleeps 6 so not all of you can go 😉
https://hookedonhouses.net/2019/03/05/under-the-rose-cottage-cornwall/
I love that little cottage. We’d just have to find several of them…or get tents…we’re all going! (of course, I don’t camp…so I’m sneaking into the cottage…)
Pia, I read Halo and loved it!!! I can’t wait for Viper’s book
What an ADORABLE cottage!
Only sleeps 6? *pbltt* Some of us can just pass out…er, camp out on the floor in sleeping bags with mats. 😉
I’ll bring my snuggie sleeping bag and pillow 😀
Hellooooo!!! *waving hands in air*… been super busy & was out of town at a convention. So fun!
I’m currently reading What the Wind Knows, by Amy Harmon & loving it.
It’s Spring Break time, so I’m off for the next 9 days. Hoping to devour lots of great books.
How great for you, MichelleS! I need to find out when my son’s spring break is scheduled for. Keep us posted about What the Wind Knows, please!
I LOVE that cottage! And since I’ve spent the majority of the last 3 years sleeping in a recliner and a lot of my teen years sleeping in the floor (when you have insomnia long enough, you’ll try anything), I’m good with a chair, the floor, or anything!
I also think I’d love The Northwomen Sagas. Since Vikings is one of my favorite shows, I put the first one on my tbr back in 2016, but it definitely got buried.
Michele G–I’d love to BR it sometime if you’re up for it later in the month or next month or whenever.
I’m at my parents’ house talking about this book I love and about how crazy it is and my Mom says “that’s not real” and I’m vehement that it is and I missed it on the news and how it’s the 3rd great Disney Park and about Hurricane Sandy and did they see it then? So I google bc they’re lost and it’s all about the book. I was flabbergasted!! I feel duped. It seemed so real!! And also, I feel silly raving on here how I missed it when it happened- in real life. *smacks forehead* I’m telling you tho, props to the author bc he writes it so well you’d think it did happen.
Like Disney park, not an actual 3rd park. It’s explained there is Universal, Disney, and FantasticLand. I was even thinking I wish I’d have visited before it was ruined. *shakes head* I’m so embarrassed!
Tasha, that’s hilarious!!
I’m still in shock, Leslie. I mean, I was gearing to look up pictures of the before, not the gore and all. It’s written in interview form w/managers, the red cross, and parents and the whole get up. It sounded factual! I suppose that’s the exceptition when you go into a book blind. Hahaha
Sounds like when I was duped by “The Blair Witch” project.
I was SO disappointed when I realized it was all an elaborate marketing setup for a fictional movie.
I mean… well… I’m glad none of ’em died or anything. I was just shocked and thrilled that the supernatural was finally caught on video. *snort*
Yup, that’s EXACTLY how I feel. I’m still loving it though. But, still reeling by my misconception. Lol And the kicker is we were just talking previously about how I make up all these ridiculous stories for my kids (for my own enjoyment) to get them going and they believe it all. They think it’s funny when they realize I’m yanking their chain and all, but gosh, they get so worked up when I’m in the midst of really spinning it. Like, and this is one of my not so good tall tales, but I was walking through the kitchen with a half eaten black banana to the trash and it was all floppy and nasty looking and my son says “ew, is that a banana?” And I say “no, it was a dead rat, don’t open the trash can.” So, of course he opens the trash, ever so slowly peeking inside and searches around for the rat. I tell him to be very careful, bc it might not be dead. And he’s looking and looking and I tell him to be quiet, I think I hear it scratching around in there and I don’t want it jumping out at him. I wish I could’ve scared the daylights outta him with a scream, but I could tell he wasn’t fully buying, so it wouldn’t have been as fun. 😛 Anyway, he was disappointed that it wasn’t a rat when I fessed up. Not quite how I pictured it playing out, most of the time I can really scare them good or have them believing the most off the wall things. Point is, I was telling my Mom this story and she’s saying “you still do that to them? Your kids are such guppies, they’ll believe anything.” And we’re picking on my daughter, in good fun, about how gullible they are…….but, in the next moment I’m telling them about this exciting book I’m reading and did they see it back then on the news? YEAH, who’s the guppy?! LOL
Why is it when you decide to better you then want to eat ALL the things?
*sigh*
Sounds like your closet is way more organized than mine, Maryse. Some on my rooms are better than others, and without these freeloaders I could also be a minimalist. 😛 I like to think of mine as organized chaos. I only watched the 1st episode, but that couple was giving me major anxiety. Why don’t you do your laundry?! I was flummoxed about their whole system.
Bev, SAME. I just told my husband the same. Since I’ve been cooking up a storm, everything is (for the most part) healthy. Lots of veggies and fruits and healthy snacks. All the snacks that usually get pushed to the back of the cabinet and stay there, basically. I even bought figs and pea crisps, granola, yogurt (gag). And all I want is some regular potato chips and hot dogs! I am perpetually starved all day long. I read on a blog that the less processed crap you eat, the more real food, keeps you full longer. I beg to differ.
Yes. Give me a big plate of carbs, lol. It will fill me right up.
Plus, I have a sweet tooth so my sugar cravings hit hard
My latest food fad is dried fruit salad – has got dried apples (yum) pears peaches apricots and sometimes more like dates or banana crisps as well – i buy it mixed already in a bag and it depends which one you buy. I’m also in love with dried mango slices.
My doctor recommended dried fruit as a healthier snack. High fibre and keeps you full. Helps stop you craving those cookies and muffins I so love but shouldn’t have too often.
Tasha. How much protein are you eating in your healthy cooking? That’s what actually fills you. I found that out the hard way. If I eat just veggies or even bread, anything like that, I get hungry quick. Meat, though, or any protein, (not peanut butter or hot dogs, sadly. lol) fills you up and actually keeps you full. 🙂
Now cravings… Can’t help you there. lol Except for chocolate. Find the most insanely dark, rich chocolate truffle and eat 2 of them. You’ll be done with that craving fast. 😛
Well, there is meat in all the food I make, but maybe it’s not enough? Like chicken and veggie stir fry, there are eggs and chicken. Pumpkin waffles with eggs <-protein and fruit/yogurt. Meatballs with veggies mixed in, chicken and bacon gnocchi, spaghetti w/meat sauce, crab salad, chicken apple salad, Salisbury steak, sirloin steak, “veggie” soup w/2lb ground turkey, homemade chicken and mac, tuna. I think we get a good amount of protein in dinners and we either do leftovers for lunch or a sandwich (w/turkey typically). I ate a steak and a half tonight w/steamed greens and I’m hungry already. It’s been almost an hour. Just a bottomless pit over here, I swear. I’ve been restraining myself as much as possible w/cookies and pastries bc I realize my problem is outta control. For example, I made healthy, whole grain pumpkin muffins and I can and sometimes will eat 3-4 a day on top of lunch and dinner and multiple junky snacks a day. Or half a 9×13 pan of Rice Krispies a day. Gimme a 1/2 dozen cookies, they last me a day. 1/4-1/2 bag of chips a day. Not EVERY day, but u get the picture. And lattes always. So, I’m 10lb overweight and I suppose this is a good thing (the redtrictions and forcing myself to eat fruits and veggies again). But, I was really enjoying indulging myself as long as I have. *sniffles* I’ve spent 29 years not being able to put on any extra weight, so I thought it was exciting at first. Now, I feel gross and I want to at least lose my gut bc that’s where all 10lb went. And I’ve always eaten frequently, but I feel like with all the junk, I felt fuller longer. And satisfied, but also yuck. So, I suppose I’ll suffer with my trail mix and dried fruit over here…for the greater good.
I wonder, for me, how much of it is mental. Also, I eat so much junk who knows what’s in it that my body has got addicted to
Yes, I recognized my sugar addiction was WAY outta control after J was born. Ok, ok… And before for at least a year. But, it’s just so good! Muffin or granola? Muffin- it’s easier and more filling. Banana or croissant? Oatmeal or cream puff? Snack bag of chips, m&ms or pb crackers? Donut or omlet? BOTH! Girl Scout cookies or? No there’s no competition. Aha aha aha (channeling Danny Zuko)
If there were a mental player though Bev, would you indulge in a small meal or snack to satisfy your stomach? And if you could choose a healthy substitute, what would that be?
My usual healthy substitutes are usually fruit and larabars. Though I have to be careful with the larabars.
I cant indulge right now i just started, lol.
Oh, yea I can’t do Larabars- they are not my friend. Some are really good though!
Well, just a taste. Surely a low calorie bite every few hours would be fine? They say that’s how we should eat anyway.
I totally get it, Tasha. My issue is sweets. Not just diabetes, but pure who I am. If I eat one, I eat a TON. So, I eat none (except those two truffles occasionally). Also, bored eating, but I fix that with just water and gum. SO MUCH GUM… lol It’s been working though. Especially the eat meat thing.
Absolutely two of my problems Tessa. I can’t eat just one if I have it in the house. Also, just pottering around and grabbing a nibble here, a handful there and so on.
None?! It’s so extreme. *sniffles* I’m not that strong m, I can’t. Gum is not my friend either. See, I know I’ve talked before on here about my stomach issues a few years ago that also came back during my pregnancy. I have really good results following the fodmap diet when things are out of wack. But, shortly before I had J and after, things were going pretty well in the gut. And after having so many issues and restrictions before, (I’m about 5’3 and weighed a whopping 94lb at the beginning of my troubles) when I could finally free myself of pain and such a strict diet that excluded everything I’d always loved to eat, I pigged out on everything I’d been not allowing myself to eat. Well, there are hard limits for me that I know my body won’t tolerate anymore so I’ve modified and I know mostly what works for me and what doesn’t. And chips work. Well, baked and unflavored. Sometimes Doritos. And sweets work for me for the most part. And a ton of healthy food is actually a thorn in my side. Like salad, and nuts and seeds, and certain fruits and veggies and even beef I do in moderation. So, these cruddy foods I did take to the extreme bc I had been without for too long and they made me happy and tasted good and didn’t make me feel the absolute worst pain. But, my metabasism also FINALLY caught up to me, and I gained weight. I could move up sizes! And that was nice, but I was flabby and still ok with it before J. Now, I think I got a little too crazy after and it’s time to do something about it before it gets too hard to do.
I didn’t know you were diabetic Tessa! Or if I did, I forgot. I know you always say you have to do SF, but I figured that was a choice. GAH! That’s gotta be the worst with a sweet tooth. It runs in my family and I hope it skips me. My Aunt and Uncle got it later in life. I would like all things to skip me, thank you very much. 😛
Marie Kondo stresses me out. Just thinking about watching her program stresses me out. For years Martha Stewart has made me feel inadequate. Can’t cook, decorate, plant, be stylish etc like she can. She even was great in prison.
*gives Martha Stewart stink-eye for being classy even in prison*
How to Walk Away is on sale for 2.99 from 13.99
Eeep thank you Tasha. Center is my new obsession!
Yeah, diabetes runs on both sides of my family, so I guess it was inevitable, though it didn’t hit until a few years ago and since try to keep it down to “borderline”. I’m lucky to get it now rather than sooner, though my dad didn’t get it until his late 50s. My mom her late 20s. Once again, I’m a mix. 🙂
I have to do the feast or famine thing. It’s just who I am. After two or three days after a sweet, I don’t crave it at all. The problem is, I have to stop letting myself have that during the holidays. lol It’s so hard to stop after.
And I don’t blame you for wanting to eat after starving. OMG I would want whatever I could too! If you are a type that can just cut back, do that. Maybe it’ll help fill you if you have chips, but just not so much. (Though, your “only” is my favorite type of chip, baked lays.)
Well, I admire your willpower, Tessa.
I’m not suffering with ALL these healthy choices though. I just want a little of both. But, I know once I get started on some of it, I take it a bit extreme. I also love baked lays. But, sometimes it’d be nice to do something a little spicy or different. I like kettle and baked.
Mom. I love chips….but the fried kind, lol.
Regular, bbq, sour cream and onion, salt and vinegar, cheetos……
Instead of watching Marie Kondo, try watching Hoarders, it make you feel great about your home.
sorry, meant to say it’ll make you feel great
I just finished the new Susan Fanetti, Lead (Brazen Bulls MC). Much as I love Susan Fanetti’s writing, I haven’t read the rest of this particular series. I tried the first couple and they just weren’t my thing. But I’ve been reading her Viking books and this new one popped up so I tried it and liked it. I don’t usually like reading about criminal Hs that I’d be terrified of IRL, but strangely I did enjoy the romance in this one. Fanetti made her H and h human.
Now I’ve started the new Lucy Score up there, Rock Bottom Girl. I’m quite liking it so far. I read and liked The Worst Best Man last year and I remember it took a little while to get me really hooked. I think this one is similar so I’m hanging in there and hoping it really picks up. So far it’s had some funny moments. Also some cringeworthy moments with beearchy school bully girls. I hope they get their comeuppance! The H and h are both older, btw, which I like.
OMG, ya’ll! I just finished The Great Alone, rated NSFL–not safe for Leslie 😉
But, WOW, what a beautifully tragic, incredible book! I think I experienced every feeling from one end of the spectrum to the other, and each in such a strong way.
It took a bit to get moving, but that part wasn’t bad or anything, just not as eventful. However, once it took off, it never let up. I almost had to stop reading because of the way it rocked my emotions during a couple of chapters–and that’s saying something for me. But I’m SO glad I didn’t put it down.
I listened to the audiobook, and Julia Whelan did such a phenomenal job with all the different characters, male and female. And she put her whole heart into it. It was simply amazing! All of you who have it on your tbr need to move it up!
Okay I just finished “Everything You Want Me to Be”!! Good stuff! I reviewed it (and the last P.S. part of my review is where I get really honest). *snort* 😛

Two reviews in 2 days. YAY ME!!!
Finishing up Flirting with the Frenemy and then I’m starting Daisy Jones since that is a library book.
Finished my backsplash today! Will just have to caulk and then it is officially finished. Now to clean the kitchen and rest of the house that is a dusty mess from having to do new drywall.
I’m thinking of doing a 28 day diet and exercise challenge. The diet worries me more. No sugar, carbs, fruit or starchy veggies. What the hell am I supposed to eat?! Need to figure out all my protein choices.
Ooh Cheryl that sounds harsh! Meat, cabbage and eggs all day? Eek! Good luck!
Enjoy your revamped kitchen.
The one I’m doing has a lot of protein too. It will probably not be a forever way, but some at work have had success with it. Plus, it emphasizes portions which is good. But I dont like that much protein forever and you know the diet that is still considered the healthiest is the Mediterranean. Especially healthy for women.
Nay – no worries, I know Kristin Hannah is too depressing of an author for me. But appreciate the heads up. 😉
Good luck to all you “trying to eat healthy” peeps. I just can’t do it. Eliminating groups of food, makes me binge. 🙁
I’d never heard of that diet, Bev. It sounds similar to the whole food, non processed “diet” I tried a couple years ago to help my belly issues. Except for the fish, I’m going to try to add more fish and veer back to those foods more. They were really helping anyway. As long as I stay away from what I know ales me. I’ve got to get on a workout routine though. I honestly don’t even remember how anymore. I’ve searched on YouTube. It’s a little overwhelming, how many sets to do things and exactly how and what not.
Some bozos brought back Rice Krispies from Grandmas. I saw them and wanted to cry. It’s been since about Xmas since I’ve had them and the minute I say something here about them, wham! It’s like the universe is out to get me.
Not sure if this was mentioned this past week, but Baby Teeth is on sale for $2.99.
Hasfit.com has great workouts. Great for just starting out but also advanced. There’s a free app as well.
