- Bred by Ginger Scott <— LOOK WHAT’S LIVE BY GINGER SCOTT!! She fell in love with him… even though his mom was insidious (and changed the rules). “…the Alderman home sat in one of the city’s oldest and wealthiest neighborhoods, and Elena Alderman was the queen. She was also mad. Not the kind of madness that’s readily apparent. No, her psychopathy was far more surgical—more…insidious. She was surrounded by beautiful things—most notably her grand piano and her adopted son, Henry. I fell in love with both…” P.S. You can check out an excerpt right here on the blog ➔ Ginger Scott’s “Bred” just went live & we have an excerpt!!
Amy: This sounds so good!
- Marriage For One by Ella Maise <— LIVE!!! UNREQUITED LOVE/MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE ALERT!! AND OMG IT SOUNDS INTENSE and heartbreaking… total blurb-jolt!!! Marriage arrangement and then he told her she was his biggest mistake: “…It wasn’t long after he said I was the biggest mistake of his life that things started to change. No, he still didn’t talk much, but anyone can string a few words together. His actions spoke the loudest to me. And day after day my heart started to get a mind of its own. One second he was no one. The next he became everything. One second he was unattainable. The next he seemed to be completely mine. One second I thought we were in love. The next it was still nothing but a lie…”
Nadia: This one sounds like a good one !❤️
Maryse: I think this one is next for me!!! I’m going to taste-test it right now. 😉
Nadia: it’s next for me too!
- The Five by Lily White <— RECENTLY RELEASED & SOME ARE BUDDY-READING & FREAKING OUT OVER THIS ONE!!
Nay: we’re all gushing over The Five by Lily White. Totally taboo, dark and twisted romantic suspense. And another mystery that keeps you guessing and then blows your mind. Everyone in the BR so far has given it 5 stars!
Linda: Nay The Five was amazing!! It took weeks to get those characters out of my thoughts!! Again a very surprising outcome!!
Robyn: I read The Five and loved it!
Linda: finished reading The Five last night!! It was absolutely unputdownable!! Went in blind by recommendation!! No spoilers here. Highly recommend!!
- Soccer Mom (Killer Moms Book 1) by Eve Langlais <— LIVE!!!
- Mad About Moon by Melissa Foster <— LIVE!!!
- Share Me by Ker Dukey & K. Webster <— Ker Dukey & Author K Webster REVERSE HAREM ALERT!! Their latest is live!!! THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO KEEP HER SAFE… “...Control and professionalism used to be something they prided themselves on. But now that we’re secluded and alone, lines blur and control quickly loses to need…”
- Kyle (Riding Hard Book 6) by Jennifer Ashley <— LIVE!! JENNIFER ASHLEY ALERT!! HE’S A BULLRIDER and she’s too shy to talk to him…
- ❤️ TESSA HAS HER BEST OF APRIL LIST for us!!❤️ 😀 !!!
Tessa: It’s already of the eighth of May! Eeep We haven’t done our favorites of April!
Gah, April was phenomenal for me. Not gonna lie. SO GOOD. These were just the ones that were beyond great. Most were read one after the other. The beginning of the month I was lucky.
1. Filthy Rich Boys: A High School Bully Romance (Rich Boys of Burberry Prep Book 1) by CM Stunich – Reverse Harem bully. OMG, it was good, but then that end. OMG
1a. Bad, Bad Bluebloods: A High School Bully Romance (Rich Boys of Burberry Prep Book 2) – Continues and the angst ramps up
2. Shadowspell Academy: The Culling Trials (Book 1) by Shannon Meyer and KF Breene – These two authors together is a dream. The action was fast, the plot held tons of aches, family and friendship come into play… YAY!
3. Of Blood and Bone: Chronicles of The One, Book 2 by Nora Roberts – *thunk* It continues the series and soooo good. I mean, SOOO GOOD! The drama, the death, the feels, all still there and I am so anxious for the last book.
(Can you believe I read those three back to back? With Year One: Chronicles of The One, Book 1 (March) right before it? LUCKY!)
4. Riders on the Storm by Robin Hill – So happy and satisfied with the end. The angst still there, tons of feels, and all questions answered without being in your face. *hugs Robin* Loved it!
- Riders on the Storm: Waiting for the Sun, Part Two by Robin Hill <— Leslie M 5-STARRED THIS ONE!!
Leslie M: My fave was Riders on the Storm. It’s the first 5***** read for me in 6 months!!!! Super angsty and I yelled at Robin a couple times while reading.
R: I loved your emails!! I got yelled at a lot during ARCs…and I got the silent treatment!
Michele G: Ahhh yes….the silent treatment. Sorry…not sorry. At one point I thought I was going to need to make a road trip for a face to face to ask you “why oh why” you were letting Darian make such stupid decisions??!! Imagine me trying to explain that one to my hubs…lol!!
Cheryl: I’m reading Riders on the Storm and LOVING it. Such feels and I know the worst is yet to come. ;>
- Royals of Villain Academy 1: Cruel Magic by Eva Chase <— LIVE!! NEW ADULT/BULLY ROMANCE REVERSE HAREM ALERT!! She’s going to a “Villain Academy” “…It turns out I’m Persephone Bloodstone, the long lost heir to one of the five royal families of dark magic. I’m destined to learn how to manipulate the world with fear—and to stand beside the four other scions: the scorching-hot, arrogant young men who rule this school. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble locating my supposedly wicked skills. I don’t want to use a power that feeds off people’s pain, but I have to tap into my talents fast if I want to survive…”
- Demon Curse (Dragon’s Gift: The Sorceress Book 3) by Linsey Hall
- The Burn of the Underworld: a Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance (Of Shadows and Fire Book 1) by Meg Xuemei X <— REVERSE HAREM ALERT!! “…I never expected this to change, but then three smoking-hot warriors–a primordial vampire, a fae prince, and a Sváva archangel–arrive in my wrecked world, claiming I’m the lost queen and their fated mate. They come to return me to the great Atlantis to claim my stolen birthright, despite the fact that no one has ever escaped the Underworld…”
- Carry the World by Susan Fanetti <— JAN 4.5 STARRED THIS ONE!!
Jan: I’m reading Susan Fanetti’s new one, Carry The World and really liking it. I’m 2/3 through already and just got it yesterday. Very different from her series books. It’s a beautiful slow-burn romance if you’re into that. I LOVE both MCs. Set in 1930s/depression era Appalachians. A lonely widowed mountain man trying to raise his two kids on his own in a remote mountain area. A lonely widow employed by the government as a travelling librarian. She rides her horse into remote areas to visit every two weeks with a fresh load of books. Oh yeah…….. It’s actually a beautiful story.
Jan: I’ve been reading all day and just finished. It’s a really beautiful book. I cried (happy tears) through the whole last part. *sniffs* 4.5 stars (and that’s high for me LOL).
- The Royals of Monterra Series by Sariah Wilson <— JR enjoyed this one!!
JR: I’ve just finished up The Royals of Monterra series. They were sweet stories that reminded me of reading a Hallmark movie which is what I needed after some angsty reads. Thinking of starting Imperfect Match next. Anyone read it yet?
- ❤️JAN’S APRIL FAVORITES❤️:
Jan: Ooh favs of April!
Kiwi Rules (New Zealand Ever After Book 1) by Rosalind James It’s a good CR and you don’t have to be a New Zealander to enjoy it LOL. The H is a vet who lost part of a leg in Afghanistan. I really liked it.
Rhyme & Reason by Nia Forrester
HOOK SHOT (HOOPS Book 3) by Kennedy Ryan
And a non-romance sci-fi book but it’s quite unique and I really enjoyed it. Remnant Population: A Novel by Elizabeth Moon. The h is in her 70s LOL but it’s REALLY good. Beautiful story about first contact with aliens.
- The Girl He Used to Know: A Novel by Tracey Garvis-Graves <— AMY’S APRIL FAVORITE!!
Amy: My favorite of April? The Girl He Used to Know. No. Doubt. About. It. …FIVE. FREAKING. STARS. I want to sob from being so happy about this book.
Maryse: ME TOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! That will make my best of 2019 list EASILY!!!
- Rebecca Hefner’s Etherya’s Earth Series Reading Order, Five Fun Facts and a giveaway!<— THERE’S STILL TIME to enter the giveaway (open until this Sunday!!) 😀
- Meteor Garden Series <— BULLY HERO ALERT!!! BUT!! IT’S A NETFLIX SHOW FOR those of us that love Asian Drama *ahem bev cough cough* 😉 And me, well I love Asian horror. I really want to get into these dramas ’cause I KNOW I will love them, but since I have to read the subtitles (which I have no problem with), I can’t work on organizing blog posts and list making since I have to keep my eyes on the screen. Binge watching an entire series without simultaneously doing blog stuff stresses me out (I’m a multitasker – if I’m going to indulge all day or all weekend in a show, I have to be productive at the same time). *sigh* BUT!!! All that to say, JESSICA LOVES THIS ONE!!
Jessica: I just finished a Chinese drama on netflix I thought you might like. It’s called “Meteor Garden”. Bully hero falls for ordinary heroine. If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend it. Finished all 45 episodes in a week.
I’m also watching another chinese drama called “A Love so Beautiful“. They are so good!
Maryse: Oh you just made me (and probably bev, too) so happy!! YAY!! Thank you Jessica!!! 😀
Jessica: You guys are going to love it!!! At first I was like OMG, then I was like awww, then It was AWWW! It’s so cute with a lot of emotion. Right up your alley! Let me know what you think! Happy watching!
- The Lying Hours (How to Date a Douchebag Book 5) by Sara Ney <— THE LATEST “HOW TO DATE A DOUCHEBAG” JUST WENT LIVE! He’s trying to help his broken-hearted friend on a dating APP, and this girl is OVER IT. “...Over her bad grades. And over dating douchebags. What she wants to know is: where have all the nice guys gone? She longs for a handsome, sweet, and honest guy who can make her laugh. In one last ditch effort to prove that he exists—Skylar turns to LoveU. On her worst day, Skylar has no filter (it’s a miracle she hasn’t been ditched mid-date). On her best, she’s as wholesome, and sweet, as pie. On Thursday? She matches with Abraham Davis’s roommate. Skylar Gabriel is falling for the wrong guy—she just doesn’t realize it yet…”
- Reaper Witch: Wolves and Zombies (Urban Magic Series Book 1) by Chanda Stafford
- Unattainable by Jamie Schlosser
- Walk of Shame (Love Unexpectedly) by Lauren Layne <— UNREQUITED LOVE SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! Quite a few in our book-crew LOVED it so I just one-clicked it!!
Putri: if you do love unrequited love theme, then you must read Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne. It has humor, but it also got that hurts-but-feels-so-good feeling especially when the H underestimate the h all the time.
JR: I second Walk of Shame! It made my elusive 5* list!
Ashley: I also read Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne, that was was really cute and fun.
Victoria: I adored this book!
Maryse: I one-clicked it. TOTALLY in the mood for this.
- The After Series by Anna Todd <— FIRST BOOK IS NOW A MOVIE, and Heather says the hero in this series leaves Travis in the dust! GASP!!!! Shelly loves him, too.
Heather: …the After series is the first series I’ve read that is not listed on your page. I’m sure you know, the movie was just released as well. So that takes me to the point of this email. I’m so surprised you have not read this series. It’s fantastic and right up your alley.
I am totally with you on your favorite jerk hero’s, especially Travis. And until this series, no hero has ever captured me the way he did in Beautiful Disaster. But, I’m telling you, Harden (After series) left him in the dust. And that even hurts me to say out loud. It’s so Angsty.
So the first book, it took me about 30% in to really devour. (I’m telling you because it’s important 😉 ), but then I went through all 4 books without putting them down. I kept asking myself, how can a writer pull off enough content to keep a reader through a story four books long, She does!!!!
Please read immediately and give the world your thoughts. I know you don’t know me from Adam but I have also never emailed anyone in this type of situation. Please please read, it will not disappoint!
Shelly: In my opinion, no book boyfriend is more broken than Hardin Scott from the After series. I’ve been doing a reread of it with my teen daughter to get ready to see the movie and she agrees with me.

- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
- The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides <— TWO have said the audiobook version of the book I just 5-starred is REALLY good too!!! 😀
Michele G: I’m listening to The Silent Patient right now, Maryse! I just saw your review!! It’s quite good.
Nay: Let’s just say I was enthralled the entire time and didn’t want to stop listening. I highly recommend the audio book version. I waited for 3 months to get it from the library and it was totally worth it!

Good Morning.
Coffee time.
I’m now 50% through my book and then on to Mercy.
Oh, did you all see this?
It’s coming out this summer?
LOL!!!!!
The Rabbit. 🙂
AND OMG the video plays directly in here!! YAY US!!!
I was NOT expecting that.
That is so cool!
Oh and bev!!! Did you see that special “find” feature up there just for you?? 😀 Meteor Garden and “A Love So Beautiful”
:D!!!!
It made me laugh. That is awesome that another drama watcher is around.
That’s what I feel I look like when eating lemon garlic zucchini noodles. Nom nom nom.
Mmmmm that sounds yummy!! That’s what I’ll make for supper tonight. :D!!!
Ohhhh yes, they are delicious. The lemon adds just the right amount of acidity, and you can never go wrong with garlic!
Have you ever had noodles with an avocado, garlic, and lemon all blended together as the sauce?
It is yummy.
OMG! I can’t believe this video is showing up! Did you just type a link like always, bev?
I just used copy and paste. Was not expecting that to happen. It surprised me.
Good morning! I’m on a long bus ride right now (school trip with my son to NYC) so I’m hoping to finish my audio of Timid by Devney Perry. So far, I’m liking it better than book 1.
Good to know. So far, I’m loving that author’s writing style.
“Binge watching an entire series without simultaneously doing blog stresses me out”
This is why you just need to watch one or two a week on rabbit…lol.
That is how most dramas air is two a week.
A Love So Beautiful was wonderful. Slice of life type youth drama. I binged it on a long weekend curled up with a respiratory infection. It was the perfect watch for that. The drama I’m doing on rabbit is by the same writer. Different but oh so fun.
Meteor Garden is an adaptation of Boys Over Flowers. The k version was a rambling crazy sauce that I couldn’t put down. I’m not sure I liked it but couldn’t stop watching . I’m part way through Meteor Garden.
I had to start it the fan_wall was going crazy over out pineapple haired hero.
Oh no. I’m going to have too much fun with this. One more. I have to see if I can gif Her Private Life.
It’s on Netflix! You know I’ve been wanting to read Boys over Flower, but those types of books take me about an hour or less to read so I haven’t read it yet. 😀 THANK YOU! I’ll start watching it tomorrow.
Boys over Flowers or Meteor Garden?
Either way have fun, but please do not rate all dramas based on these…😂🤣
And the hair and clothes!
The way they look at each other.
I know. It is not a death scene, but it makes me swoon.
Wow!!!! Swoon is right.
Very swoony Bev!!
I love them.
That was fun but now work.
Promise to try and be judicious in my GIF posting.
*blink*
*blink blink*
WE CAN POST GIFS NOW?!?
Oh man, y’all are in for it now. I’m going to have fun with this. 😛
And it does it for you.
I dont even try on GR. I wonder if it does images the same way?
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcQvgS1YsJSotyDs9_XG6m8vUcs2mJHYEqQit-VH2Wjdc3kcj6Vu
Everything on GR is HTML. I grab them from Giphy but then have to adjust the size in the code. Unless I’m doing it the hard way and don’t realize it.
Um….yeah that is too complicated for me.
I can do bold, strike outs, and spoilers.
Thank you for including Riders, Maryse! ❤❤❤☂
Happy Friday!!!!
Happy Friday to YOU! *hugs*
I’m just anticipating your first gif post here…….lol!!!
Happy Friday!! Someone out there that’s better than Travis!!! I have to read this series!!! I just finished The Doctor and book 2 The Man by EL Todd omg hot hot hot!!! Phew book 3 The Lover out on May 14!!!
I started Cruel Magic last night. Total tummy twists, but I’m still reading it. Not sure how “good” it’ll be until I’m done.
Now to test the gif ability!
Love it Tessa!
How? HOW are you guys getting them to work?? I’m getting frustrated over here.
I went to giphy and found one I wanted, copied the full gif link, and posted. It took me three tries to get it right. 🙂
Ahh, when did the new season of Lucifer launch?! I wanna watch SO bad!
Wrigley went back home today. He was increasingly growly with all of us and it just wasn’t a good fit. Especially in the last 2 days. I had a lengthy talk with a trainer and fam to come to the decision. The work a puppy takes aside, I can’t have a growly, potentially aggressive dog to work with with small children also. When she came, she said I see what you mean when she held him. It’s not the full extent, but maybe he’ll be different back home with them.
So, in 5 years, we’ll reevaluate where we stand on getting a dog, the breed, the age and everything. Until then, I’ll need to find someone to take my kids also. Hahahaha. I kid.
Have a long weekend, the weather may not play to my advantage tomorrow with pictures and want to see Detective Picachu. And then celebrating J’s 1 year on Sunday! Remember I was set to have him I believe the day Meghan and Harry married? And now they’ve had a baby too!
Sorry about the dog, but I totally get it. Happy Birthday J-man!!!
While you’ll probably miss Wrigley a bit, I bet you’ll feel some relief now, not having to stress over it and give him so much attention.
I remember when we babysat a beagle puppy for a weekend. I was so excited to get him, and he was the SWEEEEETEST thing but OMG was he a pain!!!! Couldn’t sit still. Couldn’t sleep still. Couldn’t get enough attention. Would howl when he didn’t see us… he was NON-STOP the whole time we had him, and while I adored him and his silly face, I was happy to see him go back home. LOL!!!
I thought I’d want to keep him and I’d be sad when he left, but after a weekend, it was just a sigh of relief.
That is EXACTLY how i feel. No one is super sad, I am a little tiny bit bc I did the most and bonded with him more. But I could’ve stuck it out if it were for all that normal puppy crap. In a year or so it would’ve calmed down and paid off, if not for the growling. Especially in the last few days he was getting worse. Not only with picking him up, but taking a leash off, attaching it, steering him from doing something naughty, petting when I guess he didn’t want it? I dk but at 10 weeks if we’re having that many issues, it’s a huge no. The trainer said it’s hard to tell without having seen him, and 10 weeks is really young for that, but could be a genetic thing. After talking more to the breeder and thinking back to meeting Mom, I think that’s the case. Possibly our chaotic household came into play, but he was the type that should’ve adjusted easy and he was so sweet and jovial most of the time. But stubborn and didn’t want you to do what he didn’t want you to do. And his temperament wouldn’t work with my children in that way. Or me, bc he started that crap with me more and more. The trainer said it could be worked on, but likely something I’d have to work with him for the rest of his life. And I wasn’t waiting it out to see if it progressed. He didn’t like to be held or cuddled at all. And I wanted a little something for the kids. Now he’ll have Mom and Sis to spend time with and they can work with him more and I’m sure he’ll have a perfect fit.
The trainer said that they actually will help families pick the right breed and the right puppy from a litter to fit what is best for them. They do dogs for kids with special needs, service dogs, k9s and all that and that’s a huge relief for the future cuz I no longer trust my judgement. Haha
Happy Birthday to J. Cant believe it has been a year.
I know! Goes so much faster after the first. I tell you what, I’m on countdown until I can be done with these bottles though. He still doesn’t like them, but it has gotten a bit easier. I’m still the only one who can really feed him that way. And I can’t wait to do scrambled eggs, pb, honey. I’m not one who misses these times. Lol
Happy Friday!!! I have to figure this gif out. Can’t wait to see what Amy posts. The library just called and The Silent Patient is available. Have to go to Bunko first though. Today has been horrible with allergies. Pollen is EVERYWHERE and my nose and head are feeling it!
Whoah. Gifs!!! This new version of the blog is much more fun! That rabbit is kinda mesmerising.
It is to hypnotize you into joining a rabbit watch.
Summer of 2019.
LOL
Sort of a blah day at work today. Just …..blah. 🤦♀️
Anyway, time for food and pjs. And book and drama.
I so wish I had a big bowl of ramen. Lol.
Morning all! Incoming first gif post…are you ready???
Are you surprised?!? Happy Saturday!
Grey, took me a second, but I get it now!! LOL. *jumps in glitter*
I LOVE THE GLITTER!!!! Perfectly fitting!
I’ve been out of the loop, but I hate that you can not download music from itunes anymore.
Never mind. That was weird.
I used a Gif of my Ahjussi the other day. So was looking at these pictures and…..gah….need it to be picked up by a legal site. Almost got a little teary.
I dont know what it is about this show that touched me so much.
?w=672&h=372&crop=1
Y’all are waiting for my first gif…so much pressure…
via GIPHY
It’s not working!!! 😡
Nevermind, it worked! But now I mucked up my big gif debut. Go me. 🙄
Some of them don’t.
I’ve tried 2 and then tried yours and nope. But I’m NOT computer literate.
On a side note that may be why Maryse will have to learn how to do Rabbit.
I’ll learn. I’ll watch with you guys. I want to get hooked (I just can’t do too many episodes in a row ’cause I’ll forget to read). LOL!
We will protect the books at all cost.
And you could just hate them.
Now to get everyone to show up.
You did it!
And it still fits the mood.
Jan thank you for the Susan Fanetti recommendation Carry the World. One of my favorite authors for awhile and her latest was such a wonderful read. Happy bittersweet tears and I’m thinking getting it in print worthy!!! So much love!!
YAY!!!!! <3 That makes me so happy!!! 😀 YAY JAN!!!!
Glad you enjoyed, Linda. It’s a lovely book, isn’t it? I have gotten so many great recs though this blog, too 😀 Thanks, Maryse!
Random discovery:
Side effect of losing weight quickly… hair loss.
Side effect of hair regrowth… once all the baby hairs in the front grow long enough, making fake “bangs” out of them!! 😀 Tee tee!! I haven’t had bangs in a decade or so. 😉 I didn’t even have to cut my hair for ’em!
You have cute bangs, and I have this weird patch of hair over my forehead I have to tame down with V05, otherwise the strands stick straight up and straight out. And if I use too much V05, it looks greasy.
But it’s so worth being rid of the weight, right? 😉
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!
I feel SO much better now.
Mmm look at these scumdiliumptious cupcakes! The last post are my vision come to life!! I get to eat these today!! https://www.instagram.com/sugar.by.jeanette/ And J too. 😜
** GLARES LONGINGLY AT THE CUPCAKES!!!! **

And to my GoT sisters…tonight is the penultimate episode.
The PENULTIMATE episode.
You know how significant that is, right? RIGHT??
Get the liquor ready, and excuse me while I go and prepare to lose my sh!t. Tonight may be brutal.
May a certain someone die a memorable death.
Hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
I’m settling in watching The Society on Netflix.
Started reading The Five. Wow, just wow. Disturbingly hot and wtf happened??
Have to say I like the new blog design and comments, but I don’t like that the recent posts section is not up at the top right where it used to be.
Hi Cheryl!
I just moved it up much higher (right under the “about me” section in that column)
Oh yes, that’s better! Easier to find without scrolling. Thanks 🙂
Maryse, thank you!!! So great having it at the top!! 🙂
