HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! 😀 It’s the weekend and we have a MEGA-LIST of “Friday Finds” today (loaded in tons of awesome new releases by our favorite authors AND a bunch of 5-star reader recommendations). The Friday lists are getting longer these days, and I LOVE IT!!!! P.S. Yes, I posted this Thursday night, but considering how many awesome-sounding books just went live today, I couldn’t help myself.
What I’m reading right now? Where the Blame Lies by Mia Sheridan (I chose it because of the recommendation below). It’s over 450 pages, I just started it this afternoon while I was at the Drs office (oh thank goodness for e-readers!!!), and I’m already at 30% so I’m devouring it. Do I love the police procedural stuff? Less (you know me). But I LOVE the victim’s perspective BIG time and I’m hyperventilating and feeling freaked out while reading.
My latest review is up! Forbiddeny, super-steamy (but in a subtle way which made it even more effective). Excellent writing and a unique voice… all from the heroine’s POV ➔ Book Review – Crossed Lines by Lana Sky
L.A. Cotton is today’s newsletter sponsor and she’s sent over an excerpt AND a giveaway for us!! 😀 ➔ L.A. Cotton – Rixon Raiders Series Reading Order + a signed set giveaway!! (open to international!! 😀 )

The Becker brothers have a reputation for being trouble, and since I love trouble, it’s no surprise to me that I’m infatuated by that forbidden fruit the first day I walk into the distillery. That lean, whiskey-eyed, too-hot-for-his-own-good man hates me — and I can’t blame him. His family has been at war with mine for decades, and for good reason…”

They call Milly Potter The Baseball Whisperer, The Diamond Wizard, and The Epitome of All Knowledge. She believes in baseball. She breathes it. - Clay (Texas Rascals Book 11) by Lori Wilde <— LIVE!!

Tessa: Okay, so I tried a new reverse harem series, which two books are out, Vice College For Young Demons by Marie Mistry. The last time was this good that was pure PNR was the Curse of the Gods series. 5 star LOVED it. It’s longer than most, but it’s so thorough, the characters, secondary, prime, and even some third are so well thought and individual. The world is intriguing and the intrigue and plot, *grins* SO GOOD.
- Lady Derring Takes a Lover: The Palace of Rogues by Julie Anne Long <— RECENT RELEASE HISTORICAL ROMANCE & it’s super-bargain priced today!! Caroline found this one. 😀
Jan: Lady Derring Takes A Lover by Julie Anne Long. I’m quite enjoying it, but not as much as Devil’s Daughter. Still, Long is a good writer and she knows how to deliver a funny line.
- Longing for Ever After (Sunset Bay Romance Book 4) by Debra Clopton
- Ghosted: A Novel by Rosie Walsh <— SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT & HE GHOSTED HER!!! This one sounds SO good! I just one-clicked it!! And it’s mutual: It’s as though Eddie has been waiting for her, too. Sarah has never been so certain of anything. So when Eddie leaves for a long-booked vacation and promises to call from the airport, she has no cause to doubt him. But he doesn’t call…”

Maryse: Me too!!! TOTALLY my thing. I’m dying to know what the secret is!!! 😀

- Fake Date by Monica Murphy <— FAKE RELATIONSHIP ALERT & Michele G loved it!
Michele G: My two reads for this week’s releases that I really enjoyed were both about fake relationships. First up was Fake Date by Monica Murphy. It’s the second in her Dating series and my favorite in this series so far! …It was an enemies to lovers vibe. It was a super fun read
- Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas <— OMG OMG OMG!! BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! Nancy just found us the biggest bargain of all the bargains. Trust me. P.S. FORBIDDENY PLEASURE (in many ways!!) & PURE AWESOMENESS and has made SO many of our favorites lists!!!! Here’s my review.

Jen C: Ashley, I was so happy to see Birthday Girl nominated too. Loved that book so much!
- Wylde Fire by Sarah Robinson <— RECENT RELEASE & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!! 😀
Michele G: I also read Wylde Fire by Sarah Robinson. Holy Hotness! It was a fun and toasty little read. I wanted her to delve a little deeper into some things but it didn’t ruin the story for me…I just wanted more. It’s the start of a series and it looks like there will be at least two more coming out next year.
- Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown <— SANDRA BROWN & IT’S ON KINDLE UNLIMITED!!!
Diane M: I’ve been on a Sandra Brown romantic suspense binge, good stuff!!!
Bia: I ALWAYS read everything by Sandra Brown
- Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens <— BACK ON THE LIST ‘CAUSE NANCY LOVED IT & she’s buying it for family members!!
Nancy: WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by Delia Owens! A book I highly recommend & will not soon forget!!
…was a book recommended by good Book Buddy: Heidi Hines BookReality. I can’t find the words to describe this book. It stays with you long after the last page. It was a bit pricey even for a ebook copy, but I got mine through the public library. Even the hardback copy is less money. It is in the top 100 ebooks on Amazon, so it shows you people are willing to pay the high price. Anyway, I am just saying there are ways around the high price tag. Highly recommend!!
My husband and I rarely read the same book at the same time, but we did with WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING!! We can’t stop talking about it & also have decided to buy a hard copy for both his sister & brother.
- You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico <— RECENT HUGE HIT & we have even more feedback!!! 😀
Jan: I read and enjoyed P Dangelico’s new one, You Can Have Manhattan. …Quite different from her other books, though.
- Checkmate: This is War (Travis & Viola, #1) (Checkmate Duet) by Kennedy Fox <— SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! Caroline found it for us!
Caroline: Another freebie by Kennedy Fox
Artemis: My favorite roommate story is Checkmate Duet by Kennedy Fox.
- One Hot Scot: A Second Chance Romance (Hot Scots) by Donna Alam <— HE’S HER PROBLEM #100!! Caroline found us this one! “...She’s lost her husband, her job, recently avoided jail time, and is back living in the place she’s always loathed . . . when problem #100 walks in…”
Caroline: New author for me! Humorous, sexy, and Scottish. Kindle Unlimited 5 book series. 😬
- Buried Alive by Stacey Marie Brown <— SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! In fact… freebie alert!! 😉 “…The moment Hannah walks into his room, he knows something is different about her. Drawn to her, he can’t seem to stay away from the mysterious, guarded girl. They are two heartbroken souls who both understand the darkness. Little does he know she lives in lies and carries secrets that will bring his universe to its knees and secrets that will bury them both alive...”
- A Kingdom of Dreams (The Westmoreland Dynasty Saga Book 2) by Judith McNaught <— JUDITH MCNAUGHT HISTORICAL ROMANCE NOW ON KU!! Caroline found us this one!
Caroline: Judith McNaught alert new to kindle unlimited
Janet: I just finished A Kingdom of Dreams (The Westmoreland Dynasty Saga Book 2). Medieval knights, mistakes and misunderstandings, cruelty and tenderness, great characters, a feisty Scottish heroine and a dangerous warrior hero! Read it – you’re going to LOVE it!
Anne: Just finished A Kingdom of Dreams and loved it!! I am in love with Royce Westmoreland. I love reading HR set in the Middle Ages, so any good recs?
- Where the Blame Lies by Mia Sheridan <— RECENT RELEASE & PSYCH-THRILLER & MONA LOVED IT! She just chose my next read for me!! 😀 YAY ME!!!
Mona: I don’t usually read psych thrillers because they stress me out, but decided to read Where the Blame Lies by Mia Sheridan (because I love her books). It was so good!
It’s about a serial killer of college co-eds. The first victim escapes after ten months of captivity and it is eight years before another body is found. But the attacker of the h died by suicide at the time of her escape. The story goes back and forth between the h’s captivity and the present but flows smoothly (and it’s KU).
I could not figure out whodunnit until the author wanted it figured out. I hope you read this and would love to hear if you figured it out sooner!
Kathy P: I finished Where the Blame Lies last night. It was definitely different than a few of the other books i read (more thrillerish if that is a word. Not a light read. I would definitely recommend reading it.
- CowSex by Lesley Jones <— KATHY P LOVED IT!
Kathy P: Needed something a little lighter after that and read CowSex by Lesley Jones. I LOVED it and the main woman character (Gracie). If you don’t like swearing in the boom, than don’t read this one but that is all part of her character. This was my first book by Lesley Jones so excited to find a new author to me!
Debbie: Lol! I think I liked Cowsex because it fits in with all of the Hallmark movies I’ve been watching. I needed something light and different from the usual tropes. I hate knowing what is going to happen in a book based on the first page. …Biggest Smile: Cowsex (The best part is the reaction you get when you tell people what you are reading).
- The Perversion Trilogy: Perversion, Possession & Permission by T.M. Frazier <— T.M. FRAZIER TRILOGY BUNDLE JUST WENT LIVE!!!
- Fall; or, Dodge in Hell: A Novel by Neal Stephenson <— SCI-FI THRILLER! Jan’s reading it as we speak! 😀
Jan: Now I’m reading Neal Stephenson’s recent one, Fall, or Dodge In Hell. It’s kinda a sci-fi thriller. Not a romance, for a change, but I love his books. Always challenging and fascinating and full of amazing ideas.
- The Ring by Sandi Lynn <— SANDI LYNN’S LATEST IS LIVE!!! “…It all started with a ring. A beautiful ring I found at the bottom of the ocean while scuba diving on vacation. From the moment the ring was in my possession, bad luck followed me everywhere and turned my entire life upside down. On the inside of the band there was an inscription: To my darling Mary. My soulmate for eternity. After a string of tragic events, the ring led me to New York hoping to return it to its rightful owner. That’s where I met Harrison Grant…”

- Castle of Water: A Novel by Dane Huckelbridge <— NAY 5-STAR LOVED THIS AUDIOBOOK!!!
Nay: Well, I finished it. I simply couldn’t stop listening. Such a wonderful book. Definitely a 5-star read for me. As I said before, I just loved the writing!
…It’s a stranded/castaway book, but it’s not your typical stranded contemporary romance story. It’s more about how they survive and how their needs/feelings/outlook on life change and evolve in the process.

What a great list Maryse!!!
*twirls in the glitter*
I just added another one!!! 😀 Birthday Girl. 😀 *waggles eyebrows*
That’s one of my all-time faves!! I love Birthday Girl!
I picked it up for free because I’ve never read it. I’ve been told that it’s my jam, so I don’t know why I’ve put it off.
Hey Michele – congrats on being first!! Haha!!
I was so excited to see Ghosted on sale — been waiting for that one!! 1-CLICK!!!
I really liked You Can Have Manhattan…….just when you are expecting to get a spoiled rotten rich city kid, you get a cowboy!! And I like me a cowboy! Lol!
Ohhh cowboys!! Much better anyway. 😉
Happy Friday everyone!! Another recommendation The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald. Kept me riveted to the very end!! LOVED IT.
YAY!!! Thank you Linda!!!!
What will you be reading next? Have you chosen yet?
Trina M Lee has the 16 th book, When Darkness Reigns, in the Alexa O’Brien series out today. I’ve read every one of these books and love them all. The story just gets better and better, for a series this long, that’s saying something!
Last 3 books I’ve read…
TO BE YOUR GIRL- I thought it started slow but kept being drawn back to it. Ended up very much enjoying.
ENTICE- was excited for this one and had it on pre order and then ended up being disappointed. Just was too slow and the H needed to man up.
ALL THE FORBIDDEN THINGS-really liked. Older rock star, younger girl story with a little different spin that was interesting. And seems like there will be another book based on some of the secondary characters that should be good.
I’m reading All the Forbidden Things. Really enjoying it so far!
Good afternoon! Happy Saturday! 🌞
I just realized that I never posted at all the past two days. Hubs and I had our date day yesterday and I was worn out when we got home. I think it was the mango habanero margarita, which was completely YUM, by the way. Nothing burned until about 30 minutes after I finished it, but it wasn’t nearly as hot as I expected (definitely a great thing!) We went to Rafferty’s and got their delicious prime rib and the honey butter croissants, and we had a blast!
It’s beautiful here today–much cooler than it’s been the past week–and I’m planning to get back to All the Forbidden Things. I still haven’t finished Crossed Lines, and I’m definitely going to pick it back up, but like you, Maryse, I’m having trouble with the first half. And I really want to read Where the Blame Lies, so CL may get put off a bit longer.
Glad you enjoyed your date, Nay. The mango habanero margarita sounds awesome but yikes!
I might have a look at all the Forbidden Things although by the blurb it’s not my usual jam. But I’ve enjoyed some rock star books before, and it’s KU, so why not try it? *shrugs*
The Island by Daya Daniels is a MUST read!! Has anyone else read this gem? Just finished this 5*****!!
*runs to look it up!!!* 😀 !!!!!
I’m determined to read a book a week until the end of the year.
Starting this week.
Did I just jinx myself?
Nope!! You’ve got a goal! 😀
Great goal, bev!
