It’s been a long time since a book has hit me in the heart like that.
- A Violet Fire (Vampires in Avignon Book 1) by Kelsey Quick <— DYSTOPIAN PARANORMAL ALERT!! Michele G recommends this one!
Michele G: Violet Fire by Kelsey Quick was the start of a really exciting new vampire series! Let me just say that I was hesitant going in and afraid that it would be very average. Imagine my surprise when it was fabulous!
It did leave off with a little cliffy and there’s no date for the second book yet (which has me anxiously biting my nails) – – but I REALLY enjoyed her storyline!! Definitely check it out if you’re up for a paranormal story blended with a dystopian world!

Ian makes her feel safe again. He helps her face her past, and experience the long-buried feelings of hurt, anger, pain, and guilt. Maryse,
I read Enemies by Tijan it was soo good. Definitely in my top 10 list of this year. I went back to read some of Tijan’s standalones and I read Tear Drop Heart too. I had a book hangover from that one too. I love Tijan’s writing.
YES!! Thank you so much for the feedback Traci! I’m adding it up there. 😀
I read it too and really enjoyed. I have never read a Tijan book before. Is this her usual style? What would be another good one to read?
Reading and listening to Regretting You right now….I’m getting ALL THE FEELS!!!! Absolutely loving it!
I LOVE her! Hopefully I can read it tonight. 😀
I saw the Killing Sarai movie the other day. It kept to the theme of the book pretty well. The only thing I had problems with is the casting of Niklas and Javier. They needed to be younger and better looking. LOL. Otherwise the movie was pretty good for a book to movie.
I’m rereading Lea Griffith’s No Mercy series. Hoping like crazy she releases the last book this month called Kiss of the Blade. If not LG said January. I’ve been waiting forever!
Hi Robyn where did you see the movie?
I live in Phoenix and it was out here. The title is written in Spanish like En Brazos De Un Asesino. There were subtitles, but it I didn’t bother me because I knew the book so well.
Alright, in response to Grey saying earlier that she needs more bully books, a huge rec because I’ve been loving it that much: The Supernatural Bullies and Beasts series by Caroline Peckham is so good and totally consuming. It’s not a reverse harem, but about twins and these total jerks. Then she has a spin-off that happens at another school years earlier, that I’m beyond loving, Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac which is a reverse harem series. Honest truth, I’m torn between which I like better, but Ruthless’s world is darker, so maybe that? So hard to say!
Ooh. Just found out a new Susan Fanetti is coming out on Jan 4th. The Name of Honor (Pagano Bros #4). Two books in that series made it to my 2019 top ten, so can’t wait for this one. I think it’s older MCs, too (not sure though) but I love more mature MCs with some life experience behind them. I don’t like most mafia series, but Fanetti does it so well. You really care about the characters and see what drives them. The romances are so beautifully done and heartfelt.
Sweet. Now I have books coming out by fav authors in January and February. (Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas in Feb, which will be SO DIFFERENT from The Name of Honor, but just as fab in a different way.)
*rubs hands together*
Hey guys! I’ve been binge watching here and there the last couple days, Tell Me a Story (which I bought season 1 on prime bc I’m not paying for a whole other streaming network) and V Wars on Netflix. I started Tell Me a Story a few weeks ago, wasn’t sure I was as invested as I had hoped to be, but towards the end it was so good and now I’m holding myself back from season 2 so I have something to watch later on. Then I thought, kids aren’t here, I’ll be able to watch V Wars now. I look up stuff on the shows I watch so I know if it’ll continue, if it’s cancelled, what the feedback is, and saw Ian Somerholder posted asking people to finish it if they liked it and spread the word so it can get renewed for season 2. I’m on episode 8 and this is me spreading the word…watch it!!!! I have to have a season 2. Lol! If u like the whole vampire plot, you’ll like this. I realized a little bit ago that I unknowingly watched both the Salvatore brothers’ stuff back to back. Isn’t that a coincidence? Maybe.
I finished it. Ooooh a touch of “Damon” came out and I need a season 2!!
Damon… *sigh*
We’re supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow/tomorrow night! I have a super busy week of all those school programs, Xmas parties and errands, extracurriculars, but I wouldn’t mind a cancellation day or 2.
