HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! :D Oh how I love Fridays and today’s Friday Finds list has plenty of goodies to choose from (new, AND reader recommendations). Oh yes. I’m reading all weekend.

In fact, I’m reading two from the preorders list below (by a couple of my favorite authors – Tessa Bailey & Shay Savage) whoo are releasing new books in the next few days. I’m already hearing how awesome Tessa’s book is, and I’m halfway through Shay’s and it is exactly what I come to expect from her moody, reclusive guys. YAY ME!!! YAY US!!! But in the meantime…

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND :D !!

  • The Swedish Prince by Karina Halle <— LIVE!! KARINA HALLE ALERT!! THEY’RE FROM TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS… At her young age, she’s raising her siblings, and then royalty shows up in her life… ”…Then a fateful encounter literally brought Prince Charming to my doorstep. At first I thought Viktor was just your average businessman passing through, albeit obscenely handsome, six-foot-five, blue-eyed, and mysteriously rich. But soon I discovered the truth behind Viktor’s façade. Beneath his quiet, enigmatic gaze and cocky charm, is a man who is running away from who he really is. A role he’d rather not fulfill. He is Viktor of House Nordin, His Royal Highness, The Crown Prince of Sweden...”
Lisa:  I’m over halfway through and I’m loving it! Giving me butterflies!
  • Judgment Road (Torpedo Ink) by Christine Feehan <— CHRISTINE FEEHAN’S LATEST CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE RELEASE (BIKER BOOK!!) & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!! He’s an enforcer in an MC and she’s starting over and works in their bar… “…she’s desperate to hold on to her job at the biker bar, even if the scariest member of the club seems to have it out for her. But Reaper’s imposing presence and smoldering looks just ratchet up the heat...”

Young: Just finished ‘Judgement Road’ by Christine Feehan. So GOOD! Loved it!!

Maryse: Young!!! I haven’t read Christine Feehan in AGES even though I loved her in my strictly paranormal days. YAY!!!! I’m so glad you loved it. :D !!! *runs to look it up again*

Young: Maryse, I love Christine Feehan but have lost tract of all paranormal series. Judgement Road is a MC story (russians) and I think there will be a series of stories based on other characters in the MC gang. I love CF’s heroes for their possessive love towards their heroines!!

MichelleS: Maryse – I used to love Feehan’s paranormal Carpathian novels! Will never forget Gregori’s story. That was my fave.

Maryse: My favorite is the one that had been imprisoned in a wall for hundreds of years and was like a wild ravaging beast and only SHE could calm him… OH MY MY MY that book did me in. …I’ll need to backtrack through my reviews…

Tessa: Maryse, that was my favorite too! Or… One with a girl who basically was raised from a young age as a family to a vampire and was basically claimed by one of the most powerful.

  • Hard Wilde (Rough Mountain Bears Book 2) by Dany Rae Miller <— LIVE! BEAR SHIFTER ALERT!! “…After being bitten by a demon, Emily craved blood so badly, she ran away from home and society … hiding on Rough Mountain … crafting a cure and biding her time for the right moment to reach for it. But one taste of her werebear’s miracle elixir and she wants more…”
  • Kiss Me Like You Mean It: A Novel by J. R. Rogue <— LIVE!! THIS ONE JUST WENT LIVE and I’m IN LOVE with the cover… and the blurb just haunts me. My. Broken. Heart. ”...Over ten years of chasing, tears, lies, vows, and leaving. Two people who never loved each other at the same time, but couldn’t let each other go. Now here I was telling our story over drinks midday in an airport bar with my old diary clutched in my hand. Telling some version of our story, anyway. I left him once with no goodbye. Now I was returning home to give him what he needed to move on…”
Val: Just one clicked it! I am excited for this one.

Tessa: …Okay, honest truth, OMG! It’s the first of a series, but the main character is awesome. Some things you can kind of foretell if you are like us and have read a ton of fantasy and PNR, but then there is a lot of the stuff I wasn’t expecting and through me. The end… Yeah, go read it MichelleS.

Robyn: The Cruel Prince was just to much of a temptation for me. It was $10 but I so didn’t want to miss out! Fae, a naughty Prince, a girl who hate/loves him = catnip for me!

  • Matters of the Hart (The Hart Series Book 3) by M.E. Carter <— LIVE!! SPORTS STAR ALERT! “…From the second I laid eyes on Annika Leander, I wanted to help her. Protect her. Vindicate her. But she’s got baggage to get through. Hell, we both do. A funny thing happens, though, when you finally connect with someone in a different way than you ever have before. The baggage doesn’t seem so heavy...”
  • Slater Brothers Series by L.A. Casey <— THIS SERIES JUST HAD A NEW RELEASE & Robyn recommends the whole thing!
Robyn: DAMIEN (Slater Brothers Book 5) by LA Casey is the last of the Slater Bro books. …Read these books. They are hilarious and sweet and romantic. All the brothers are Alpha and the women they love are kickass and give, them a run for their money!
  • Cake by Carmen Jenner <— FUNNY & LIGHT and LisafromDFW recommends it!
LisafromDFW: Recently I found Cake by Carmen Jenner in a new release post on here. It was funny and cute. Low angst but the MC loves cake! Who doesn’t love cake!?!?! Her name is Poppy and the hero calls her “Pop Tart”. She hates it so of course he keeps doing it. Fun read for a break from sad or stressful books. And KU!
Malinda: Rebecca Shea is one of my favorite authors

Tiffany: Tempting the Boss by Natasha Madison is on sale … I’ve been waiting for it to go on sale!!

Leslie M: I wanted an audio, so I found this one… Tempt the Boss by Natasha Madison. Only few chapters in, but I like it so far. Grumpy H who is boss at her new job.

  • Rumors: Emerson & Ryder by Rachael Brownell <— LIVE!! OFFICE ROMANCE ALERT!! “…When long days turn into late nights with her boss, rumors about Emerson and Ryder begin to spread. By the time they circle back to her, they’re difficult to ignore, making her attraction to her boss hard to deny. Everyone has an opinion and no one cares if the rumors are true. No one except Emerson...”
  • All the Stars in the Sky: Until the End of the World, Book 3 by Sarah Lyons Fleming <— TEARJERKER ALERT!! Tessa was put through the ringer with this one!

Amy: Tessa… I saw you read All the Stars in the Sky. YAY!!!!! It was a rough road to the end, right? But at least she didn’t break our hearts again.

Tessa: Amy, if *spoiler spoiler spoiler*… I’d have screamed. lol Also… *hands over slightly damp Manny* Uh… Seth made me cry. It was an awesome book, but I had tears!!!!

  • Love Me With Lies Trilogy <— TARRYN FISHER OLD-SCHOOL INDIE ANGSTY LOVE STORY/LOVE TRIANGLE AWESOMENESS… and Maureen just discovered them!
Maureen: Thank you, thank you, thank you for recommending the Love Me With Lies trilogy!! Omg…that’s all I’ve got, just OMG!
  • Long Shot: A HOOPS Novel by Kennedy Ryan <— LIVE!! FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT!! This one just went live! ”...I kissed the prince and he turned into a fraud. I was a fool, and his love – fool’s gold. Now there’s a new player in the game, August West. One of the NBA’s brightest stars. Fine. Forbidden. He wants me. I want him. But my past, my fraudulent prince, just won’t let me go…”

Good morning! Happy Friday! Kiss Me Like You Mean It has my name written all over it!!

Grey March 23, 2018 at 6:57 AM

Friday, *boom* Allllll of the glitter! Hooray for the freaking weekend!

Maryse March 23, 2018 at 6:58 AM

ME TOO Nay!!! It sounds angsty… maybe even at the “Marmy” level. ;)

Lisa Aiello March 23, 2018 at 7:20 AM

Kiss Me Like You Mean It was added so quickly that I think I left skid marks all over Amazon!!! Happy Friday, lovelies! Here’s hoping to a quick and easy day and a relaxing weekend!!

Leslie M March 23, 2018 at 7:31 AM

Yippee to Friday!! I love Karina Halle and that one up there sounds good.

Hopefully I will get my reading mojo back soon.

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 8:24 AM

Yay Friday!! I feel like Friday is a no responsibility day. *crosses fingers* Tomorrow is father/daughter dance at school. It’s the 1 day a year I get my daughter to be girly/girlie? <~ neither of those look right…and wear a dress! Muahaha!! Lol This year is a luau theme and she helped me pick, so fun! And we got pretty flip flops and everything and here the weather is gonna be 30. :/ Come. On. Spring. Get it together. And then a swim banquet on Sunday where I have to make a main dish to bring (ham & cheese on Hawaiian rolls), which I put a ton of thought and effort into.
Therefore, today is no responsibility day. I’m gonna try Bloodlines after catching up on the other post, Bc I too, am in a funk. A major one. P.S.- A book I’m keeping my eye on, releases next week I think, is Roman by Heidi McLaughlin and Amy Briggs. I like the cover and miss me some vampires. Even though I’m in a funk, I hope to see good feedback!

bev March 23, 2018 at 8:38 AM

I did.

I infected you all with my slump virus.

Nancy Parken March 23, 2018 at 9:08 AM

I use to read every paranormal book that Christine Feehan wrote. Especially liked her Carpathian Series. This was in my paranormal reading days. I didn’t have a Kindle back then, but still own all the paperbacks. When I saw this MC Biker Book Judgment Road by her, I am all in.

Leslie M March 23, 2018 at 10:01 AM

Perhaps our favorite pharmacist can come up with rx for book slump cure??

Tessa March 23, 2018 at 10:06 AM

Seth did make me cry, but he was from The Titan series by Jennifer L Armentrout. The last book, The Prophecy, came out last Tuesday. Stupid book had me sniffling.

Leslie, Twilight didn’t work for you?

Leslie M March 23, 2018 at 10:23 AM

I dont even have motivation for Twilight right now. Still in my Scandal bubble.

Grey March 23, 2018 at 10:24 AM

That’s what did it, Leslie… It’s Olitz….

Jean March 23, 2018 at 10:42 AM

Tgif!! I already preordered Outnumbered! Whoever reads Kisses Me Like You Mean It first has to report back to us!!

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 10:44 AM

Lol Bev, maybe it was you! ;) Honetly I think my brain is just too preoccupied with a million other things to focus. I’m seriously sleep deprived at this time and that plays a big part too. I usually don’t sleep for like 3 days or so and then I sleep pretty well for a cpl days and then the cycle repeats. It’s exhausting.
So, I have to bug you all again with this name thing…Bc no one here wants to hear anymore…Jasper is still in the winning and not too many wanna hear my other options. The thing with Jasper is just that I’m not sure I like any nicknames associated with it or ways to shorten it. I like to mess with names. Alana is frequently called Lan, Lana, Lala, middle name, last name, and so forth. Mason gets called Mase a lot, middle name, last name, I throw in a damnit first a lot with that one (I know it’s bad, but he’s a turd) lol. And what can I really do with Jasper? My sister in law is Jess, not that we see a lot of her, would Jas be weird? Or would Jaz be weird? Too much? I don’t like super unique names for boys. Or there’s J. JJ if we wanna combine first and last initials.
I mentioned in another post I recently like Fisher, but I don’t think it fits with my other kids names…and I like Milo. But no one else does a whole lot except my Mom. I like Wyatt too, but no one ever gives any thought to it. When I say no one, I’m talking about the stubborn husband and kids I live with. Lol

Maryse March 23, 2018 at 10:50 AM

I like “Jas”. I think that’s the most logical short form…

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 10:57 AM

Is it feminine sounding at all though? Would other kids make a mean form of it?

Amy March 23, 2018 at 11:06 AM

Long Shot and Kiss Me Like You Mean It were instant clicks for me yesterday! I’m finishing up The Return (oh, Seth… *sigh*) today or tomorrow and then starting KMLYMI. Here’s to hoping it IS indeed a Marmy!!! :D

Book slumps are awful for us book lovers (borderline depressing for me, seriously :? ). Hey, maybe the Rx is to take a bunch of Miralax so that we are stuck on the toilet and have no choice BUT to try out a bunch of different books until one works. LOL!!

R. Renee March 23, 2018 at 11:14 AM

I accidentally picked up the Kandi Steiner duet last night and couldn’t put it down until I fell asleep so I guess I’m squirelling for now. Leslie we can BR it if you haven’t read it. Isn’t she your style? It’s my first by her so not really sure.

Amy March 23, 2018 at 11:17 AM

What about Jassy for a nickname? I think that’s suitable for a child to be called.

You know what name I fell in love with? Phineas from If He Had Been With Me…he went by Finny as a kid and then Finn in high school. Then again, I loved that book (and Finny) even though it gutted me. ;)

Amy March 23, 2018 at 11:19 AM

Ooooooh R, I snatched that one as well (What He Doesn’t Know, right?) but I’ve put off reading it because it is part one. Let me know if it’s a CH, m’kay? If it’s not then I may read it before the second one is out…

R. Renee March 23, 2018 at 11:20 AM

I thought the second one was out! Shows you how much I know! :D I’ll keep you posted, but so far so good, even though I’m only at 12%.

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 11:28 AM

I suppose if I’d read that book and really connected with the character, that name would mean something to me too. But, all I see is Phineus and Ferb. And that platypus. Lol. I can’t do Jassy, that for sure sounds feminine to me.

Jean March 23, 2018 at 12:35 PM

Tasha, how about Jaeger…. it’s close to Jasper. Then you could call him Jag!

R, keep me posted about WHDK. I got that one too because I loved A Love Letter to Whiskey by her!

Amy, Miralax?!? Lol too funny!

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 12:39 PM

Moves like Jagger? Or Jager bomb? How is that pronounced?

Robyn March 23, 2018 at 12:43 PM

Tessa- I haven’t started The Prophecy yet, but if it had you sniffling I might have to get on that this weekend.

Kiss Me Like You Mean It, oh geewilikers!! My heart! If only the synopsis did that to me, what is the whole book gonna do?! Guess what book is next after Hunting Ground! I’ll sneak it in before The Prophecy. Hehe

Jean March 23, 2018 at 12:48 PM

It’s pronounced like “moves likes Jagger”. I know a little boy with that name and we call him Jag!

Tessa March 23, 2018 at 12:58 PM

Jaz or Jas isn’t femine. Those are both neutral. I think the reason you see feminine is because a lot of female characters have that as a nickname for Jasmine. Jassy or Jazzy, though, no. That’s feminine.

Leslie M March 23, 2018 at 1:04 PM

Crap! I was going to say that I liked Jaz, but now that Tessa pointed it out, it will make me think of Jasmine. I DO like Jasper, so how about go the initials route? I LOVE J.J. (my son goes by initials, he is A.J.)

Leslie M March 23, 2018 at 1:05 PM

*runs off to see what book R. is talking about*

Jean March 23, 2018 at 1:07 PM

My cat’s name was Jasmine and we called her Jazz so……

Amy March 23, 2018 at 1:12 PM

You guys think Jassy sounds feminine, even as just a family nickname? Now, if it’s going to be used by everyone, and especially at school, then I would agree it sets him up for ridicule. But if it’s just at home then I still stand by it. ;)

Nay March 23, 2018 at 1:24 PM

I read WHDK! And, yes, there’s one hell of a CH! I can’t wait until the next one comes out!!

Amy March 23, 2018 at 1:29 PM

Well crap, looks like I’ll be putting off WHDK for now. :?

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 1:34 PM

Well, now that you mention it, there was a female rott that I met once named Jasmine and they called her Jazzy..now it’ll be stuck there. I like Jag, it makes me think of that movie with Tom Cruise and aviators for some reason, but I dk if it goes with Jasper. I could play with it. Jassy can’t even be used by just family, lol. It makes me think of Sassy or Cassie or short for Jasmine even. My son gave Lana the nickname Lala and she absolutely loathes it. And he obviously still calls her that in public Bc he’s 3 and it’s catchy, so I could see a private nickname not stay private. Haha

Leslie M March 23, 2018 at 2:31 PM

YES!!! What He Doesn’t Know looks like it would be up my love-triangle alley. ;)

Tessa March 23, 2018 at 3:21 PM

Will he have a middle name?

R. Renee March 23, 2018 at 3:22 PM

Yay! Leslie. Start it! I’m at 19% but not reading anymore until super late tonight.

bev March 23, 2018 at 4:16 PM

I say pick a nickname you like then build the name off of that.

Amy March 23, 2018 at 4:36 PM

*stares at bev*

Damn. That’s pretty smart.

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 6:04 PM

Middle name is Lee, unless I go w/Milo, then it would be David.
Bev, are you saying any nickname in the world? Not even related to the names on my list? That would be way more overwhelming and impossible for me to do if so. Lol I just want to be able to shorten it a little if need be. Or give it something to play with. Like, I’m a Natasha and I hate it, everyone has always called me Tash or Tasha. Even David can be a Dave. My Mom’s a Jane. I mess with that one too, like Jana. Jana Dee. My poor husband is just Tom. I call him Thomas sometimes. Or Thom and pronounce the Th, because in the full version the H is silent, but shortened they leave out the H. Why?? It’s silly, so I make it silly. But it has to fit. And I can’t just start calling him any old thing if it doesn’t ring. And not be something someone can make fun of.
I realize I’m putting way too much thought into this btw, my brain is full of crap like this all day. Lol Sorry!!

bev March 23, 2018 at 6:12 PM

I was just thinking if you had a nickname you like.

But then Sasha can be a man’s name shortened from Alexander.

bev March 23, 2018 at 6:13 PM

Tasha I like Jasper, I really do. But maybe you are not ready to say 100% that it is the one. And that’s ok.

Tasha J March 23, 2018 at 6:27 PM

I’ve never heard Sasha from Alexander, they’re like completely different names. Thank you all for your input too! I do really like Jasper, I’m just terrible with decisions, period. And a name is huge. I never fully commit until I’m about to leave the hospital. I’ll painstakingly go through this whole process again more than likely with every visitor that comes in, my Mom and husband taking the brunt of it. And then, I’ll make the most painful face ever, hold my breath, and fill out the form, careful not to make any mistakes. And only then, will there be relief. Honest to God, I think it’s a mental disease of some sort that’s gotten worse in the past couple years. I will legit spend hours (days, months) picking an outfit, design, color, you name it. And send family 5,000 text pics of versions, checking, double checking. And sometimes, I’ll question after for the longest time if I made a mistake. I really feel this pull when it comes to a decision and it’s like I’m reaching, but physically can’t connect. It’s painful.

Tessa March 23, 2018 at 6:46 PM

You know, when you first feel the need for a nickname, it’ll come naturally. It might be as simple as Jay. It’s a good nickname and definitely masculine. Just relax and know, once you hold him, it’ll all seem simple and something like a nickname will just come naturally.

bev March 23, 2018 at 6:52 PM

Well, I enjoy the conversation around it cause I like names.

I already told you all I read that Name help column for fun.

Yes, in Russian, I believe, common nickname for Alexander. And Misha for Mikhael I think. I think they are both cute.

I like Fisher. Makes me think of the actor Fisher Stevens.

I feel like we should play a name game of some type just for fun.
Hmm. Let’s think of something. Like 20 questions of names.

Maryse March 23, 2018 at 6:54 PM

Almost 8pm.

I want to sleep like the dead. How old am I, anyway?

Hello my name is Maryse, and my favorite things are cooking, cleaning, gardening, reading and snuggling in my cozy bed and pajamas by 8pm. Asleep by 8:15pm.

On a Friday.

*sigh*

Maryse March 23, 2018 at 6:55 PM

P.S.

Speaking of cool names and nicknames.

One of my book buds has a daughter named “Amberlee”

I’m not sure if it’s pronounced Amber-LEE or a gentle and flowing “Amberly” I love BOTH.

But she calls her “Bambi” for short. OMG I LOVE IT. If I had a daughter right now, THAT would be her name (and nickname) :D

bev March 23, 2018 at 6:59 PM

Lol.
Then she’d not like you for being a name stealer.

Maryse March 23, 2018 at 7:02 PM

I already told her. LOL!!!!

Amy March 23, 2018 at 8:01 PM

Don’t feel bad, Maryse…when I am off the next day and can sleep in, I tend to fall asleep fairly early. But when I know I have to get up early I have a crazy hard time going to bed early, almost like I’m a petulant child who doesn’t want to go to bed. It makes no sense. *shrugs*

Leslie babe no majic pill for the book bottom blues
I’m in no time to read land vs slump land
Gahhh so frustrating

Thank Godess for Audiobooks! Being on call for 7 different long term care homes all over the city gives me time for what I need…
well almost lol

I was just complaining to a NayNay the other day that can’t do sexy times on audio anymore?!?

soooooo ya I have changed genre AGAIN and am listen to Koontz best seller “Lightning” narrated by Christopher Lane – who rocks!

Kooloo March 23, 2018 at 10:19 PM

LESLIE!!!! Oh oh oh I just remembered I started a series that’s like HP but it takes place at a Wizard COLLEGE

It’s called Elemental by Rain Oxford – really like the 1st book but found the narrator annoying so I bought the books instead
Just need to find time to read them! *bangs head on the wall*

Maryse, just saw Crazy, Sexy Love by K.L. Grayson released this week and free in KU. Same author as A Lover’s Lament. Blurb looks good and I’m trying to just do KU right now. Had to laugh at the series title- A Dirty Dicks.

Jean March 24, 2018 at 4:09 PM

I loved A Lover’s Lament! I have to check that out Cheryl!

Tasha J March 24, 2018 at 4:26 PM

Hmm, Smooth in his younger days huh? Wonder how that nickname came to be…there must be a story there, haha!
Cheryl, I did think of J also and maybe I’ll do JJ or Jas. Or Lee. Or Perry, though that platypus just wont leave my head! I think I overthink a lot when I’m majorly sleep deprived..bare with me?! Lol. Also, Milo?! This Is Us or Gilmore Girls perhaps? P.S. Also strong dislike of Cliff’s…Brody was on my list for a brief moment too! Names are fun. We can associate them with all sorts of things. :)

Cheryl March 24, 2018 at 6:41 PM

Tasha, I can certainly relate to the difficulty of picking a name. My son was baby boy for 4 days, until finally we were t̶h̶r̶e̶a̶t̶e̶n̶e̶d̶ told if we didn’t name him before we went home the next day, it would be huge PIA to do the paperwork.

MichelleS March 24, 2018 at 8:38 PM

1. Name of hero of last book you read? SYTRUIS (snort. Seriously)

6. Cutesy or uncommon boys name you love and if brave would name a child if not a puppy? Sasha

7. Actors name of last hero you loved in movie/tv show? Guy who plays Jon Snow

8. First athletes name (guy) that pops into head? Messi

Cheryl March 24, 2018 at 9:17 PM

Started reading Long Shot. It’s good and my stomach is in knots. I’m not sure if reading the prologue was a good thing; If it takes away from the intensity of the story or adds to the knots in my stomach.

Leslie M March 25, 2018 at 8:59 AM

1. Name of hero of last book you read? Channing

2. Name of current book hero? Jamie

3. A nickname of a guy in your family? A.J.

4. First crush’ s first name + first name of favorite NKOTB (Or boy band of choice) member = Hmmm, I remember having Rob Lowe poster. I am not into boy bands.

Nay March 25, 2018 at 9:21 AM

Good morning! Hubs and I went to see the Eagles on Friday night, and OMG, you guys!!!! I never thought I could be so crazy about three 70-year-old men! lol Don Henley singing while playing those drums was just amazing! And Deacon Frey (Glenn Frey’s son) and Vince Gill did a phenomenal job rounding out the band. If anyone gets a chance to go see them on this tour, I HIGHLY recommend it. I think it’s the best concert I’ve ever been to!

Leslie M March 25, 2018 at 9:22 AM

Kooloo, what’s wrong with the sexy times on audio?!? Some of those narrators have such nice voices. The trick is you have use earbuds so no one accidentally overhears it and thinks you are prevy. ;)

Leslie M March 25, 2018 at 9:22 AM

*pervy*

Amy March 25, 2018 at 11:02 AM

R. Renee March 25, 2018 at 1:11 PM

I’m at the theater bar (Texas rocks) and I’m about to see Simon! I’m going to make a blubbering fool out of myself!

Nay March 25, 2018 at 1:20 PM

I’m just at the beginning. That’s the only guy I’ve read about so far! lol I guess it’s someone else…

Tessa March 25, 2018 at 4:09 PM

:) I will say NOTHING.

R. Renee March 25, 2018 at 4:20 PM

I cannot stop crying. Go see Simon.

R. Renee March 25, 2018 at 5:15 PM

Ugh. I’m home. Still crying. Will vow to stay offline. Bought wine.

R. Renee March 25, 2018 at 6:48 PM

You guys wanna hear something totally weird? You know those DNA kits everyone goes crazy over on Black Friday? I have a close friend who did one and just found their daughter. Wow. I’m talking to her now.

Maryse March 25, 2018 at 6:53 PM

OMG!!!!! That’s CRAZY and awesome.

R. Renee March 25, 2018 at 7:05 PM

It is so cool. Sometimes technology is an amazing thing.

Maryse March 25, 2018 at 7:23 PM

They sent me an email saying that soon they will be able to tell any of us (IF we opt in – FOR FREE) if we have certain cancer DNA/genes/markers in our system. I’m so impressed with them.

Cheryl March 25, 2018 at 8:08 PM

Just got back from seeing Love Simon with my daughter. Talk about blubbering mess!

Amy March 25, 2018 at 8:25 PM

Saw this and knew everyone here could relate:
https://media.bookbub.com/blog/2016/12/12/things-you-should-never-say-to-a-bookworm/

Then I come here and see the weeping going on over the movie Love Simon, which came from a book bev loves. Gotta love being in good company. :D

Amy March 25, 2018 at 8:27 PM

Wow R, I’m assuming this is a daughter they gave up for adoption?

I have to admit I get a lump in my throat whenever I hear of adoption, whether it is someone giving up a child or adopting one. Such a selfless, beautiful act on both sides.

Amy March 26, 2018 at 12:40 PM

Yep, I’m falling in platonic love with Gwen. She reminds me of a Tarryn Fisher-type h. She’s broken and imperfect. She’s selfish and yet apologetic. I’ve found my booknip and I am going to enjoy every moment of playing with it.

“When I tell you I am the villain, I am not being cute. I don’t want to be cute. I just want to be honest about all of this.” <——— That about sums up the vibe right there.

Maryse March 26, 2018 at 12:48 PM

Oh I LOVE the sound of that, Amy. That’s exactly what I love.

Tessa’s book is kind of like that too… she’s the black sheep of the family and so was her mother… having been ostracized and she doesn’t care. I’m intrigued.

Maryse March 26, 2018 at 12:49 PM

QUESTION:

When you run across a she-villain in a book… who do you “see”? I always see Megan Fox. :P Gorgeous and sleek and mean-ass deadly looking.

R. Renee March 26, 2018 at 12:55 PM

I picture Charisma Carpenter! I’ve done it for so long I modeled my “villian” after her. :D

Jean March 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM

Megan does look like she has an evilness in her! Lol!

What books are Amy and Tessa reading?…(too lazy to scroll back up).

Finished American Queen last night and LOVED it!

And don’t know if I mentioned how much I LOVED A Love So Tragic by Stevie J. Cole!! Awesome book!

Amy March 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM

Maryse, I totally clicked Getaway Girl because the blurb sounded unique (jilted groom and SHE is his getaway driver??), and you just piqued my interest even more now!

Actually, with a she-villain as the MC I picture someone like the model on the cover of the Opportunist or even someone like Rachel McAdams. But if the she-villian is someone (and a brunette) trying to sink her claws into the h’s man then I can definitely see her as Megan Fox or someone very similar. Hubby was watching Jennifer’s Body not long ago and DAMMIT!! Megan Fox is just stunning.

Amy March 26, 2018 at 1:03 PM

Jean, I’m reading Kiss Me Like You Mean It and Maryse is reading Getaway Girl by Tessa Bailey. Ya wanna join one of us? ;)

Jean March 26, 2018 at 1:30 PM

I would love to join either of you, but I’m wrapped up in the New Camelot Trilogy by Sierra Simone! So freaking good!!!! Just started book 2, American Prince.

Have you or Maryse read My Torin yet? We were talking about it on GR and we think you’d both really love it! One of my favs for the year!

Amy March 26, 2018 at 2:07 PM

Jean, I haven’t read My Torin and surprisingly I don’t have it in my library. Is it a bit on the dark side? Because that’s the vibe I’m getting from the blurb…

Jean March 26, 2018 at 2:21 PM

You have to read it Amy! A little bit dark, a little bit marmy, a little bit mind f*&k…… yes, it’s that good and it made my heart soar! Check out my review on GR…..BUT you must go in blind. Don’t read any other reviews or spoilers! Many here loved it! And it’s K.Webster….. you never know what you’re going to get. Did you read Whispers and Roars by her? It was unforgettable! I love an author who isn’t afraid to step out of the box!

bev March 26, 2018 at 4:47 PM

Exact opposite in heroines, Amy. :)
