HAPPY FRIDAY & HAPPY LONG WEEKEND to many of us. Extra time for book fun!!! I’ll still be in blog update/organizing mode all weekend, and of course… in reading mode to give my mind an organizing break. :D !!! In fact, I’m going in to a book right from this list (Heartbreak Warfare) and it’s by one of my favorite authors. Plus, the reactions to it are incredible so I can’t wait!!

<— P.S. That one there to the left is CALLING ME BIG TIME!!!!!! She fell in love with her perfect man, and he turns out to be her worst nightmare… OH MY!!!!

  • Bloodstained Beauty by Ella Fields <— LIVE!!! OMG THIS ONE SOUNDS AMAZING!! She thought she met her perfect man, and he turned out to be a monster!! “…The life I’d stumbled into was beautiful, and the man I loved was perfect.
But perfection comes at a cost, and I’d slumbered through all the alarms. Then I met my nightmare.
The man whose bright eyes held untamed darkness.
The man who disarmed me with his peculiar behavior.
The man whose cold, merciless hands shook me awake.
In an instant, questions started to dismantle my happy ever after.

Stephanie: I am currently reading this and omg its so freaking good!!

Kristy: Review at the top of the list says go in blind so here we go :D

  • Heartbreak Warfare by Kate Stewart & Heather Orgeron <— SUPER-UBER ANGST ALERT!!! Recently released and we have feedback ’cause Susan LOVED it!

Jennifer: I can take having my heart ripped out; I can handle gut wrenching sobs, I can handle my heart pounding in anticipation, and all the angst you want to throw at me….however HEARTBREAK WARFARE is in a class of it’s own. The level this book did all of that to me is like no other I have ever experienced. It has not been easy, very tough to read at times and I am not even done with it. (80%) I have had to take multiple breaks from it when the hurt got to be too much. Even when I was taking these breaks I could not stop thinking about them. I am starting to think there may not be enough stars in the sky for this one.

Susan: Just finished Heartbreak Warfare today and OMGosh that book gutted me but in such a good way, I hate to cry. Hate it but these tears were so good. Loved this book and literally could not put it down until I finished it. Can not stress enough how good it was.

Jenn: Finished “Heartbreak Warfare” yesterday and the first word of the title says it all.

  • Tempted by Love: A Montana Heat Novel by Jennifer Ryan <— RECENT RELEASE SUPER-BARGAIN!!! THE DEA AGENT & HIS BEST FRIEND’S LITTLE SISTER… “...Alina’s always been steady, focused, and lived on the safe side of life. Jay is totally devoted to his dangerous job. She knows a future with him will be filled with worry that one day he won’t come home. She’s done it with her brothers. She’s not sure she can face that uncertainty with the man she loves. Yet being in his arms is a bad idea they keep repeating, again and again...”
  • Exmas by Winter Renshaw <— Winter Renshaw’s latest is LIVE!! She was so into him but then he stole her promotion… “…Refusing to work beneath him (professionally speaking and otherwise), I transferred 2,014 miles away to our Chicago division, and I’ve spent the past year trying to remember how much I hated his panty-melting smirk so I can forget how much I secretly loved the way his ocean eyes lit every time I walked into the room. But he’s just announced a last-minute site visit the week between Christmas and New Year’s, and on top of that, he’s audaciously designated me as his ‘right hand gal’ during his visit...”
  • Balance: A Forbidden Gymnastics Romance (Off Balance Book 1) by Lucia Franco <— SUPER-FORBIDDEN/SUPER-BARGAIN FOR THE FIRST TWO BOOKS ALERT!! And OMG the comments about this series!!!

Meagan: Omg I’m obsessed with this series! It’s sooooo good!

Nay: I’m halfway through, and that one scene at about 43% knocked my socks off!!!

Robyn: Good Lord, I need to thank whoever recommended Balance by Lucia Franco! This book is most definately forbidden. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because of the drastic age difference, but something just hooked me in. I couldn’t stop reading this book. Now I’m on to book 2, Execution. These books are very well written and if you like gymnastics, it’s another plus.

  • Binding 13: Boys of Tommen #1 by Chloe Walsh <— SO MUCH LOVE for this one!! A few of us are reading this one together and some of our veterans loved it!

Jan: Binding 13′s more NA than YA. I’m not often a fan of either genre really, but there was just something about this one and I couldn’t stop reading it. The length didn’t seem to be an issue. I’m easily bored in books but I never got bored with this one.

Tasha: Binding 13 is crazy good. If only ppl understood my need to live in this book and leave. me. be. It’s giving me old school feels! And talk about fleshed our characters. Something about the way they curse makes it feel more classy than over here. Lol! The spelling too…. I tell you what though, those 800 pages really don’t feel daunting. I DO love it. I will definitely jump into the next book right away!

  • Cole by Tijan <— TIJAN SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! LEADER OF THE MAFIA & she’s about to fall in love with him… “...I shouldn’t have remembered him. He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn’t know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all. But I could feel him. The tingle down my spine…” P.S. This one was just recommended on today’s reader question request of “criminal underworld” books!!
Tiffany: this is a good one!
  • Make Me: A Broke and Beautiful Novel by Tessa Bailey<– Tessa Bailey super-bargain alert!!Construction worker Russell Hart has been head-over-work boots for Abby Sullivan since the moment he laid eyes on her. But he knows a classy, uptown virgin like her could never be truly happy with a rough, blue-collar guy like him. If only she’d stop treating him like her personal hero—a role he craves more than oxygen—maybe he could accept it...”
  • The Music Shop: A Novel and The Solitude of Prime Numbers: A Novel <— TASHA found us goodies!! And she’s my book-twin, so… ;)
Tasha: The Music Shop: A Novel is on sale… and The Solitude of The Solitude of Prime Numbers: A Novel by Paolo Giordano is on sale… Neither are romance, but they look to be good ones. Up Jumps the Devil by Michael Poore is on sale …. I’d never heard of it before (not romance) but it sounds super intriguing.
  • Marriage Mistake by R.S. Lively <— LIVE!!! SHE DOESN’T REMEMBER GETTING MARRIED TO THIS JERK BILLIONAIRE…If only I’d listened to reason. Now, I’m knocked up and married to this domineering billionaire.*hrmph* I dunno. Why don’t I feel bad for her? ;) :P
  • Maybe Don’t Wanna (The Simple Man Series Book 2) by Lani Lynn Vale <— LANI LYNN VALE SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! SHE WON’T LISTEN * SHE THINKS SHE CAN SAVE HIM... “...For appearances’ sake, he plays the part. He does what people expect him to do—mostly. And at the end of each day, he goes back to his lonely apartment and wishes he was a different person. One who could fix the things he’s broken. Then Kayla Nash forces her way into his life, and the world as he knows it is irrevocably changed...”
  • Doctor Daddy: A Dark Daddy Romance (Dark Daddies Book 2) by B. B. Hamel <— STEAMY NEW RELEASE W/ A BOSSY DOMINANT!! (and the author has a warning: Doctor Daddy is an ultra hot Daddy Dom romance featuring an older man and a younger woman. It has super steamy scenes and some bad language, plus lots of fun banter. It’s only recommended for readers 18+. If you like spanking, dirty talk, silly puns, and dominant men, something tells me you’re going to love this book!”
  • Royally Yours: A Standalone Romance (Royally Series Book 4) by Emma Chase <— RECENT RELEASE & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!! JR LOVED IT!
JR: I read Royally Yours this weekend and loved it! It was sweet and sad and oh so good. This whole series is one of my all time favs.

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
  1. Repeat by Kylie Scott <— KYLIE SCOTT PREORDER ALERT!!!! It sounds so good! The author says:

Good morning! Happy Friday! It’s raining like crazy here. UGH!

Leslie M November 9, 2018 at 8:11 AM

Happy Friday and long weekend!! *glitter bomb*

I need to get in Thanksgiving/holidays prep mode which I am looking forward to. As far as books go, I’m feeling disappointed. Having hard time after Bring Down the Stars and as awesome as Heartbreak Warfare sounds, it’s too emotional for me. (Michele was kind enough to give me deets) I will try Binding 13 once sequel out and that one R. was talking about sounds good too (The Work Wife).

I probably will need to stick to mostly audiobooks from now til Christmas. That way I can listen and get stuff done at same time. I tend to get very lazy when reading and blow off RL.

Anyway, those of us who are not doing that crazy low carb stuff…what are some yummy holiday treats you making or indulging in?

Tasha J November 9, 2018 at 8:18 AM

Got both of the Off Balance series and Hates notes- what a steal!

Why is it a long weekend? Did I miss something?

It’s SNOWING! 1st snow of the season here. :)

Tasha J November 9, 2018 at 8:26 AM

Um, I’m gonna indulge in ALL the carbs. Chicken and noodles (not soup), mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cheesy broccoli and rice casserole, turkey (that’s not as exciting), cranberry sauce….For supper – (mac n cheese, cheesy potatoes, a ton of other stuff, many repeat from lunch, maybe some deviled eggs, apple crisp, cookies, rolls, rolls, rolls.
You know what? I’m gonna have to make puppy chow today now. I’m hungry. :P

Melinda November 9, 2018 at 8:27 AM

OMG, I just have to vent big time! I just finished heart break warfare what an absolutely emotional roller coaster. I thought at one stage I was having a heart attack. The feelings were so life like. I stayed up to 2.30am reading went to bed and couldn’t sleep as I couldn’t stop thinking about the trauma that occurred. Then up at 6am. Still thinking about it all day at work.

5 BIG BIG Stars for me. If they were all that good. Omg I would walk around like a zombie.

That being said my youngest daughter just finished her VCE exams which is the year 12 finishing high school exams to go to University so now we await the scores. My other daughter is finishing her exams tomorrow to complete her degree and my other daughter just completed her exams to complete her degree. So it’s a stress house. Next week it should be calm again. Praying. One in medicine the other in forensic accounting. Both have jobs. But no jobs if they fail. So you see the stress.

Nay November 9, 2018 at 8:50 AM

Melinda–best of luck with your all your daughters’ scores! What accomplishments!

We just got finished going through the same thing with my #3 son’s ACT test scores. He got them back on Monday, and he got a 28, which could very well get him a free ride for the most part at the local college he’s wanting to go to.

I guess I babied my boys too much. When I was 17, I couldn’t wait to move almost 4 hours away to go to college at UK. I wanted to be on my own and live on campus–have the “college experience”. And now, I can’t bribe my 2 youngest sons to go away somewhere and live on campus. Not that I want them to get into the mischief that I did in college, but I believe it’s important for them to live on their own and learn about being independent.

Melinda November 9, 2018 at 9:01 AM

Congratulations Nay, BUT they haven’t passed yet and that’s the scary thing. I think that’s why they stress so much.

In Australia unless you live in the country they all stay at home and go to University. So mine all still live at home and commute. But they all try very hard. I just feed them and support them. I will keep you updated. We may have 2 graduations in the next month. Then hopefully one will commence University if she gets the score she requires. I baby mine too, isn’t that what mums do? Im Going to bed now it’s 100am now. I will catch the thread tomorrow. Worse thing about the time difference.

Nay November 9, 2018 at 9:03 AM

Leslie–I made chocolate molten lava cakes the other night. Put a huge dollop of vanilla ice cream and some chocolate syrup on them and it was YUM!

Last weekend, I bought melting chocolates so that I can make candy and icing bags and tips for decorating cookies and/or cakes of some sort. For #1 son’s birthday on 12/23, I’d really love to make a Bûche de Noël (yule log) and do all the forest-like decorating, including the adorable little meringue mushrooms, but that’s quite an undertaking and I don’t know if I’ll have a big enough block of time just a couple of days before Christmas to do it.

Maryse November 9, 2018 at 9:15 AM

Tasha, it’s for Veteran’s Day and Remembrance Day < — Canada (both on Sunday but Monday is closed). LOL! :)

Jenn November 9, 2018 at 9:44 AM

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Friday! I can’t wait to get done with work and get “my drink on” :-)

I can not wait to read Blood Stained Beauty, that one is calling me too Maryse!

Like Leslie I am holding off on Binding 13 till Keeping 13 is out but getting even more excited to start with all the comments about it. I am a little nervous though with it being such a long book and everyone stating it starts off slow.

It’s been a rough week so my reading time has been hijacked by RL so it’s taken me almost all week to read Hate Notes and it’s a fast paced book, easily could read this in a day. Anyway I am enjoying it probably will be a solid 3-3.5 stars for me. I’m 80% in and was not expecting this to get emotional but here I am with tears in my eyes for the first time since I started.

Jean November 9, 2018 at 10:41 AM

Bloodstained Beauty…!!

I finished Heartbreak Warfare last night too…..amazing story! Definite 5 stars!

Happy Friday! I could really use a drink tonight too!!!!!!

Theresa silverberg November 9, 2018 at 10:54 AM

Lisa Marie Jones book says next May ugh

Tasha J November 9, 2018 at 11:02 AM

Oh, you lucky duck! Enjoy your long weekend. :)
I’m going to see the new Grinch movie this afternoon, it looks so cute. And tomorrow a swim meet all day. Sunday free day. Maybe I’ll finish decorating the bedroom. That’s my weekend in a nutshell. Oh! And fried pickles for supper, can’t forget that. :P It seems these and chocolate are a recurring craving around *that* time each month.

Michele G November 9, 2018 at 11:19 AM

Happy Friday!! Where is Grey’s glitter cannon…someone needs to send off some “weekend glitter”!

Bloodstained Beauty does look really good! I also want to read Binding 13 before the next one comes out…Jenn & Leslie (and anyone else who wants to join), maybe we can BR that one when it gets closer?!

I just started Bad Things …yep Tristan and Danika… this morning. I can already tell I’m going to be obsessed. I hope I can handle the angst though…in the past week I’ve read Heartbreak Warfare and Fearless. I took a moment to palate cleanse and read Consumed by JR Ward…intense in other ways not as angsty to me. I thought HW and Fearless back to back were going to do me in…could have bought stock in Kleenex. So, I’m bracing myself for Bad Things…you all can feel free to send chocolate …

Good luck to your girls Melinda…sounds quite stressful. I always thought raising my kids was stressful when they were little (and it was) but this trying to “launch” them into adulthood is pretty tough! Will be sending positive thoughts your way!

Nay, I don’t think it’s because you babied your kiddos too much…apparently they just love their momma…and maybe they are super comfy at home too…

And can I say…y’all are KILLING me with the food talk…I’m starving now!! And yes, I have wine in my future tonight…so I’m sure some yummy food will have to accompany it!

Jenn November 9, 2018 at 11:51 AM

Michele-I would definitely be interested in BR of B13, maybe we an start over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Just let me know. Now I am *running off* as I have to go look up “Fearless”

Leslie M November 9, 2018 at 5:56 PM

Nay….Lava Cake!!! Yum

Tasha, all your food sounds good. I want puppy chow.

Starving! Waiting for hubs to get out of work so we can go out for dinner.

Nay November 9, 2018 at 9:53 PM

I want to BR B13 too!!

Cheryl November 10, 2018 at 8:46 AM

Happy Saturday!!! Finished Hate Notes, a 3.5 stars. Now have some projects around the house I need to finish up and then I will decide on my next book. Can’t remember Bloodstained Beauty so need to look at above list again.

Linda November 10, 2018 at 1:06 PM

Just started Heartbreak Warfare and I’m so nervous!! Lol! Crazy I tell ya!! Going in blind but I’ve been skating over reactions and seeing lots of love so I gotta go into the trenches and see for myself.

Amy November 10, 2018 at 3:10 PM

Ladies, if you’re wanting to read Binding 13…JUST JUMP IN!

Yes, it’s long. Yes, it’s size is intimidating. No, I’m not talking about Johnny’s “peanut.”

But yes, B13 is worth the time investment!! :D

Amy November 10, 2018 at 3:12 PM

And I’m SOOOOOOO jealous (and absolutely thrilled!) that Michele G is reading T&D for the first time!!

*swoony sigh* They STILL have my heart after all this time…

Cheryl November 10, 2018 at 4:24 PM

B13 is on my list, but I’m on a no buying ban right now and I would want to wait until the sequel comes out. Although, is it the sequel or just book #2 in a series?
If only it becomes KU…

Leslie M November 10, 2018 at 7:39 PM

Cheryl, I think it’s a sequel…I seem to recall people talking about major cliffy.

Guess where I just went? To see Bohemian Rhapsody. It was epic.

Cheryl November 10, 2018 at 8:32 PM

Leslie, I want to see it too!!

Tasha J November 10, 2018 at 8:58 PM

I want to see it too- and I don’t even know what it’s about. :P
I saw the Grinch- it was not epic.
I’ve read nothing, BUT have started knocking out some Christmas gifts.

Amy November 10, 2018 at 11:59 PM

Whoa, whoa, WHOA!! Are you serious? Are. You. SERIOUS?? B13 has a CH?!?

Did someone mention this to me and I missed it??

Jan November 11, 2018 at 1:14 AM

*passes Manny to Amy*

The sequel is out soon.

Melinda November 11, 2018 at 1:21 AM

Bohemian Rhapsody is absolutely fantastic best movie this year. Tasha it’s the story of the Group Queen and it’s lead singer Freddie Mercury.

And Amy yes it’s a CH but it’s so so good. The sequel is out this month so read slowly. I can’t wait.

Linda November 11, 2018 at 1:27 PM

Heartbreak Warfare…I’ll never forget this book. Max my heart can take. All. The. Stars!!!!

Amy November 11, 2018 at 6:20 PM

*takes Manny and snuggles him*

You know, I’m at 85% of B13, and the angst isn’t really the kind I thought it would be…and yet I’m loving it! As in the splotchy-chest-in-public kind of way because I dared to read it while getting a pedi.

Tasha J November 11, 2018 at 8:43 PM

OMG!!! I just saw the new Shay Savage post! Transcend is one of my ultimate favorites- and it’s coming so soon!! :D

Tasha J November 11, 2018 at 8:45 PM

Oh, yes. I finished Binding 13 saying out loud, “WTF kind of ending is that?!” I need book 2 ASAP!

Amy November 12, 2018 at 1:55 AM

So, Keeping 13 is supposed to be out November 29?

It sure as sh!t better be.

I hate cliffhangers.

Jenn November 12, 2018 at 5:21 AM

Good Morning lovelies

Jenn November 12, 2018 at 5:23 AM

I’m *giggling* over Amy’s comments about the CH on B13.

Linda right there with you on HW, been a week since I finished and can’t stop thinking about it.

Jenn November 12, 2018 at 5:29 AM

I just finished another Emma Scott book “Forever Right Now” and I just have to say I love being in her world and the characters she creates. Darlene is one of my favorite characters, I don’t think I have many left to read. “In Harmony” looks so heartbreaking and don’t know if I am in the right frame of mind to read that one right now!

Leslie M November 12, 2018 at 8:10 AM

Jenn, what’s funny is I didn’t love Darlene in Butterfly Project but Forever Right Now was amazing. I felt everything right along with Darlene and she became one of my fave h’s. These types of books are what work for my picky self. ;)

Jenn November 12, 2018 at 8:21 AM

Leslie-I didn’t like her so much either in Butterfly Project and was hesitant on reading a book about her but while I was reading Butterfly Project it was you that told me to read this one and I am so glad I did so thank you. I just get so lost in her books!

Maryse November 12, 2018 at 10:49 AM

LOL Amy!!!!

Amy November 12, 2018 at 1:58 PM

You’ll see, Maryse. You’ll see. :|

And if you haven’t made it to the part where he’s all high on painkillers, just wait. It’s hilarious. HILARIOUS.
