Okay so what’s next for me? Not sure yet, but I’m thinking I want light and airy and giggle-inducing. Or sweet and deep. Definitely picking something from my main TBR lists, though, ’cause I know they’re tried & true! Maybe this: Coming Home. Yep… I’m thinking that one.
<— That one to the left? I hear it’s UBER-angsty. I like those. 😉 I dunno if my heart can take that just yet, though, but this is one’s on my reading-radar.
I’m still reading “The King: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood” (70% in, and should be finished tonight) It’s a long one, with lots of story lines, so the reader is switched around a lot, but I’m enjoying it! And I reallllly liked Z’s part in it… *swooooooon*.
Janet: Hey out there, it’s been a whole day–why is nobody talking about the King???? You’re killing me. Just got the audio–22 hours long, I’m starting it now. My house is gonna be so clean, and my dogs will be walked to death.
Shannon: Still reading….slowly to make it last!
Kelly: Is it wrong that I started it and then put it down after 2 chapters so I won’t finish it too quickly? I’m teasing myself and that is a bit sad.
Lori: You really have to concentrate on it – there’s so many story lines going on…really liking it though!
Maryse’s Book Blog: Lori, I agree. It took me until about 20% or 30% to read steady into it, ’cause of all the switcheroos… but it’s her style lately, and I’m getting used to it now…
Lori: I’m about 65% and really really liking it…I think it’s the best one in quite a while!! loving all the secondary characters…
Maryse’s Book Blog: I like that they’re all romance related… each side-story is heavy on the “love-find”.
Okay so… ready for this week’s goodies? Reader recommendations, bargain finds and!! I also did a few searches for some of my fav books, hoping to find others similar (in feel/style) and found a few good-looking “Amazon” suggestions that caught my eye (I added them below, too)! A good list of super-angst, fighters, military men scarred (emotionally) from the war, sweet love stories and famous stars!
PLUS!! A ton of new pre-orders (below) like… a NEW one from KRISTEN ASHLEY THIS TUESDAY!!!! —>The Will (The Magdalene Series). OMG!!!!! Retired boxer??? YES PLEASE!
Early in her life, Josephine Malone learned the hard way that there was only one person she could love and trust: her grandmother, Lydia Malone. Out of necessity, unconsciously and very successfully, Josephine donned a disguise to keep all others at bay. She led a globetrotting lifestyle on the fringes of the fashion and music elite, but she kept herself distant.
While Josephine was trotting the globe, retired boxer Jake Spear was living in the same small town as Lydia. There was nothing disguised about Jake. Including the fact he made a habit of making very bad decisions about who to give his love.
But for Josephine and Jake, there was one person who adored them. One person who knew how to lead them to happiness. And one person who was intent on doing it.
Even if she had to do it as her final wish on this earth.
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order.

I’d all but given up my last scrap of hope when suddenly, I was given a second chance at life. This time around, I wasn’t going to let it slip through my fingers. We set out on a road trip with nothing to lose and no guarantees of tomorrow.“
- Toxic (Lights of Peril #3) by A.C. Baxtor <— BIKER BOOK ALERT and lots of great reviews!!! - Seven Years (Seven Series #1) by Dannika Dark <— paranormal!

- Stirred Up 1 by Angela Graham <— and here’s #1. Okay now I’m checking out this blurb. Er… okay blurb gives me nothing, but lots of great reviews. LOL!
- Fight or Fall by Anne Leigh <— FIGHTER BOOK recent release. I’m not getting much (love-story wise) from the blurb but here’s a bit: “This is NOT your typical fighter story. In this arena where fame and glory are at stake, one man seeks to find the humanity he once possessed. He fights not for honor but for redemption.”
- Finally Home (Home Series) by K. Webster <— Recent release, bargain priced and lots of good reviews so far. From the blurb, he’s struggling after coming home from the war… “At a society ball when she was seventeen years old, Lainey Riley looked up from the dance floor to the balcony above and saw a man in Navy dress whites who would haunt her dreams for years to come. He was her cousin’s best friend and commanding officer, and he had the most beautiful, unique eyes she had ever seen. She would not see him again for nearly ten years, but the image of his face and his eyes was never far from her thoughts. When she meets him again while counseling the son of her cousin’s fiancée, sparks definitely fly between them.“
Giving In: The Sandy Cove Series (Book 1) by M.R. Joseph <— recent release, bargain priced and this one, too, has a bunch of great looking reviews! Bits from the blurb: “Ladies love him and fall all over him for his swoon worthy good looks and overwhelming sex appeal. He knows how to talk to them and tells them exactly what they want to hear. When he’s done making them scream his name, he shows them straight to the door.” <— UGH!!! 😉 And then… “Harlow Hannum is your typical girl-next-door. She has the brains, the beauty, and the money. What she doesn’t have is the luxury of being someone’s first choice in the game of love. She always comes in a distant second place, leaving her guarded with her feelings.” (oh oh… that sounds like romantic-angst potential).
- Courting Chaos by Jacklyn Dumais <— as I was searching for more like “The Plan” I found this bargain-priced one. Not a ton of reviews yet, but the blurb got me, and even the lower-ish reviews make it sound good. LOL! I’m checkin’ it out! “Her sister is getting married to her ex, her brother’s sexual escapades are making headlines, her mother is going crazy, and her father’s not speaking to any of them. But perhaps strangest of all, her coworker and arch-rival has offered to be her date for the wedding. Because bringing home a fake boyfriend always works out… right?“
- Sexy Summers (Sexy Series) by Dani Lovell <— WHOA! Tons of GREAT reviews for this one!. These look like romance-fun! “Getting pregnant with a super-hot slice of womanising, Californian man-cake was not the plan when Tilly left London for her much anticipated summer holiday in beautiful Los Angeles. Luke Summers is the fun-loving, crazy-sexy personal fitness instructor who drives Tilly wild and unknowingly gave her this huge, unexpected gift. As things heat up again during a Christmas trip to Aspen, will Tilly be brave enough to tell ‘daddy’ the good news? Or will their raw passion and wild bedroom antics keep her from admitting the truth?“
- Sexy Hart (Sexy Series) by Dani Lovell <— And here’s another book in that same series that was JUST RELEASED! From the blurb, she’s into her male BFF, but he has a jealous girlfriend…
- Changing Course (Wrecked and Ruined) by Aly Martinez <— This one’s on my TBR list (caught my eye a few weeks ago), and Crystal recommends it! “You have to add Changing Course it’s so sadly amazingly beautiful” <— “I tried to hold on to her and the future that we were supposed to build together. But you can’t hold on to someone that doesn’t exist anymore. … …what happens when your past haunts your present, and the woman you used to love refuses to accept the woman you can’t live without?“
- Room 212 by Kate Stewart <— and Lisa recommends this recent release: “Also, Room 212 was a fantastic story of life, love, and second chances.”

Do it!!! Read Coming Home! One of my favorites so far this year, you’ll love it! Happy Friday 🙂
Happy Friday Kristina!!! 😀
Hey, uh, Maryse? Yeah, could ya maybe help a girl out a bit and warn me which BDB book shouldn’t be read in public?!? I was reading Rhage’s book in a waiting room and got to *that* part at about loc. 5800 and had people looking at me like I had lost my damn mind. I don’t think they bought my claim of allergies. 😉
*giggle*
Okay and don’t read Z’s book or V’s book in public. Just… you know. A warning. 😉
You’ve gotta bump up With This Heart by R.S. Grey up the list. It is a definite must read. Especially if you like the sweet and deep. And since we’re talking about warnings, you should make sure there’s a box of tissues nearby. 🙂 Hope you read it!
Aw, hell…duly noted! 😀
Haha Amy and Maryse!! I am on Rhage’s book too and loving it….I have been consumed by the BDB series right now….can’t think about anything else!! Thanks for the warning about Z’s and V’s books!
Oh and Maryse, I was lucky enough to read Coming Home before getting consumed by BDB. IT WAS AWESOME! Their love was definitely slowly paced with a big secret looming….one which is a little different than our normal “book boyfriend issues”. Oh, and this book, yes you will need a box of tissues….the heartbreak….I cried A LOT! Loved this book so much! Highly recommend 5+++ stars!!
I am 47% into #1 BDB and I am SOLD!!! Lots of interesting characters developing, crazy & fun story line and its steamy-which I love. Are all of the books this good? Should I read them in order? I am kicking myself for not jumping on all the books in this series the other day when they were only 99 cents. 🙁 Now I a going to go broke.
I just finished The King and I am just overwhelmed. This one made me cry, but for good reasons. This series and this author never disappoints me. Ever. I will start a reread soon . . . Now than I know the ending, I can take my time and catch all of those thing I missed. Problem is, no book can hold my attention now. Not even Jamie Fraser. I do not want to read an angsty book (I think), or do I?
I read coming home last week and LOVED it!! Good choice!
Maryse, if you are looking for light and airy and giggle inducing, you’ve got to read the Peaches Monroe books. I almost did not read it- the names Peaches.i don’t read books about characters named peaches. Even the titles kind of made me think that these weren’t my type of books. But I can’t tell you how much I lived this trilogy. I had a perma-smile the entire time I was reading it. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed/laughed so much through a trilogy since The redhead series. There are not one, not two, but 3 drool worthy hot guys. But in the end, forget the guys, I have a total girl crush on Peaches. Loved her character!
Jean – I wasn’t sobbing or anything, but my eyes and nose were getting worked over at a certain part in Rhage’s book. I am so heeding Maryse’s advice about Z’s and V’s books. 😉
I sobbed during V’s. 😉
And J.R. Ward (and many in our crew) sobbed during Z’s. Ahhhhhhhhhh Z & V!! Dream MEN!
Thanks Jackie!! I put up the series reading order a few months ago, and it DID look like fun!! 😀 I’m gonna bring that one back up on my TBR list.
Meg!! Must read in order, and they just keep getting better and better!!! 😀 Lucky you guys for reading these books for the first time. I’m quite jealous, actually. LOL!
I know, right Sharon? I’m a bit at odds with where to go after The King. Funny or deep and intense? But toooooo many just LOVED “Coming Home” so I gotta do that one. Plus the whole slow burn thing really has me excited. I love “working” for it…
Sobbed?!? Aw crap, I had a hard enough time with that part in Rhage’s book, so I’m going to be done for with V. And probably Z. Oh man, I think the butterflies in my tummy just smoked some crack…
Just finished #1 in BDB series:-) I am in love with these alpha males. Beth getting all protective over her man. I was sooo feeling her. Maryse the series gets better? I will relish each one. I’m a very happy girl. Xoxo
Yes ma’am!!!! 😀
Finished reading The King late Wed. Today I finished the audible version.
I enjoyed all the stories going on and know they all have their purpose for future books *yippee*
I wished there was a bit more back story on Wrath’s parents and more of the brothers…especially when they are ribbing one another!! Lassiter filled the gap though. Love that Angel!! Beth & Wrath what a ride!
Not sure what I’m onto next with all these recommendations….. but I know I happily awaiting Out of the Shallows by Samantha Young and I’ll be bumping something around the TBR—AGAIN– sigh
Maryse 🙂 Do you celebrate easter in the US? In Europe we do and It’s right around the corner! In the easter people go to their cabins in the mountains or woods and read enigmatic thrillers while they eat easter eggs filled with candy. We would love for you to write us a reading guide with scary books! 🙂 If you have time 😉 Are there others in here who celebrate easter?
Looking for something sweet……the Pairing by Katie Ashley. Loved her Proposition And Proposal. All I can say is that Presh is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! Totally book husband material!!
I am gearing up for the BDB series…..found another on sale yesterday at the store and just about jumped for joy!! I’ve got the first few and I am ready!! So so so excited!!
Book three in the Body Rock Series by Nora Flite just came out on 4/5. From what I can tell from the reviews there will be a book four. Any one read this series?
I just finished Against All Odds….sooo good! OMG – some parts made me cringe, some made me sad, some made me happy! Love me some Cooper! Tee hee…Grayson’s not bad either…Kylie – uh not sure about!
Just found out from the author that there will be a fourth book in the main storyline of Drezden and Lola in the Body Rock Series and that it will be out in May!
Marit… I do celebrate Easter! However I have never heard of pairing scary books with the Easter holiday. LOL!!!! WOW… very interesting custom, indeed!
*hug*
I’ll look for my scary book list and post it soon. 🙂
Just finished Against All Odds- so good!! Definitely have tissues ready!!
Also, saw that a new book by Tarryn Fisher is out- Mud Vein. The synopsis is very intriguing- looks to be a dark read. Think it is a standalone.
Oops guess I should have noticed your latest post- about Tarryn Fisher’s book!! 😉
Oh Amy, I did sob during Rhage’s book…….and now I am reading Z’s story and yes, sobbing again…..wth!
I just finished Against All Odds this weekend. Holy shitballs!! It. Is. So. Good!!!!!! You will not regret reading it – EVERY SINGLE PAGE is angst!!!! Every single page is awesome – you will LOVE it!!!
Thanks so much for the shout-out re: Rumor Has It & Picture Perfect, Maryse!! <3 Much appreciated!! 🙂
Coming Home was such a good book! You will like this one! I got the charge… the jolt!! woo hoo! You will love him! Seriously swooning over Danny!
I agree Cindy….I just loved Danny so much!!! Great book!
I went through the entire BDB series before reading The King as its been awhile since I read them. Then I had to stay away to avoid the spoilers 🙂 but I’m glad to report I finished The King last night with half a box of used kleenex. This series is so well written and I (just like all of you) love these characters. Sigh, now we wait for the next book! 🙂
Jean, I know!! Probably the only thing that saved me from sobbing with Rhage’s book was being in a waiting room. Doesn’t mean I didn’t have a runny nose and tearing eyes though. 😉 I was trying to space the books out, and I even attempted Mud Vein yesterday (it’s Tarryn Fisher so I know it will be good!), but I ended up right back with the BDB. 😀
Amy, I am 43% into Mud Vein….so mad that I had to put the book down to come to work today! But my head is spinning from it…so many questions…not sure where Tarryn is going with this book…did you finish it? I CAN’T WAIT to get back to the BDB series, Book #4 is next for me (Butch!…something about him that I love…can’t wait to read his story)!
Nope, Jean. I knew I would want to read Mud Vein straight through in one sitting without disruption, which I couldn’t do last Sunday, so I stopped. Being anxious to get back to my BDB men helped with that decision. 😉
