SO MANY FINDS today and some of these recommendations are making me *squirrel*!! If you have a full weekend to read this weekend, I think we’ve found so many options that you just can’t go wrong no matter which you choose.
The ones pinging my weekend TBR list? Well of course from yesterday’s post —> 5 New Releases That Are Getting All the Love! <— y’all know that one over there to the left is HIGH on my TBR list – Deep Blue Eternity (forbidden and he’s a recluse, I think!!) and Fisher’s Light (’cause the blurb made me wanna cry, and Amy can’t stop crying. LOL!!! Sorry Amy, I couldn’t help but giggle since i have a feeling I’ll be where you’re at soon… :P). BUT now…
Kulti just made me *squirrel* big time! SLOW burn is what I’m hearing (maybe even a bit too slow for some) but from all of the comments I’m seeing from my trusted reader friends, everyone is loving it like crazy and loving that we all have to work for it. I like that!! And Indivisible (that blurb made me *think* I knew what was emotionally destroying them, after all he’s a Navy Seal, so I was thinking he’s being deployed, but there seems to be so much more to it). YES!! FOR ME!!
Plus well… there are a TON more below that look awesome (for all sorts of “romance” moods), so I noted a bunch. Also a bunch of new releases from yesterday and today!
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
EBOOK BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).
- Deep Blue Eternity by Natasha Boyd <— FORBIDDEN ALERT! JUST RELEASED and super-bargain priced!!!
Kulti by Mariana Zapata <— RAVE REVIEWS/SLOW BURN/SPORTS STAR ALERT! Back on the list ’cause I keep seeing this new one mentioned over and over again (on my Facebook feed and right here in the comments), by my trustee-reader-buds! She worshipped him as a teen and now he’s her coach! BUT she… “…had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man that hadn’t known she’d existed. So she isn’t prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team’s season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he’d once been. Niki: “Ahhh I’m in book love with Kulti!!!! I can’t keep the smile off my face while reading it…seriously my face hurts from smiling so much!!! Had to drug myself with benadryl at 4:45 to get some sleep!!! For me it’s just one of those special books that you hunt for to find this feeling; I’m at 30% and just want to read it slower so it won’t end!!! Ok back to reading!!!
” and then she said “Loved Kulti so much!!! Definitely one of my top favorites!!! I just love her writing style!!! Now what to read next…” Jennifer: “Finished Kulti and loved it….very slow burn but great characters, great premise…love all three of Mariana Zapata’s books. Highly recommend.” and Cheryl too: “So, I’m reading Kulti. I enjoy a sports theme story and the H/h not liking each other so far- I always like the slow build too.” and then she said: “Finished Kulti. Loved it. “I flung up my common sense into the air and held my imaginary ovaries out in sacrifice.” *tee-hee*” Yep. MINE!!!!!
- Fisher’s Light by Tara Sivec <— HEARTBREAK ALERT!! Amy can’t stop crying!!! It is so high up in the charts right now and breaking hearts. “I was still here, holding my breath, waiting for you to come back even though you told me you never would. You always said you’d find your way back to me. Out of all the lies you’ve told me, this one hurts the most…” <— *sob* And with a blurb like that, my heart is ALREADY broken. YAY ME!! And Nancy says: “I am reading & loving Fisher’s Light by Tara Sivec (Epic Love Story)” and Amy agrees: “I’m 20% in and I think Fisher just squeezed the life out of MY heart. I’m literally crying for Lucy right now. Shouldn’t have picked it up until *after* I finished my work for the day…how am I supposed to work now??” and Jenn agrees too: “Amy- fishers light!!! So good. Have neglected the housework all day to read! Almost finished!!”
- From Within by J.M. Walker <— Recent release! Author warns “Tissues may be needed. Hearts may hurt. But know in the end, everything happens for a reason.”
Pretty Pink Ribbons (A Touch of Fate Book 2) by K.L. Grayson <— TEAR-JERKER ALERT! JUST RELEASED and can be read as a standalone! “But there are three things I need before this life of mine ends . . . I need to tell him I love him more than life itself. I need to feel the strength of his arms wrapped around me just one more night. Most of all, I need him to forgive me.” <— *sob* Only 5 star reviews so far…
- Branded (A Sinners Series Book 1) by Abi Ketner <— Tessa is LOVING this one! “The blurb got me curious, and now I can’t stop reading it. The part I’m at is so bittersweet, I know I’m going to be sobbing soon…”
- Wilde Nights in Paradise (Entangled Brazen) (Wilde Security Book 1) by Tonya Burrows <— super-sale!
- Contractual by Alice Montalvo-Tribue <— SHE’S AN ESCORT ALERT! “Desperation brought me to this and it led me to him, my one and only client…”
- You and I Alone by Melissa Toppen <— STRIPPER ALERT! “…when she accepts a job as a dancer at one of the most secretive and exclusive clubs in the country, operating under the name Logan, she meets the one man who makes her question everything she thought she knew.”
- Unspeakable Truths by Alice Montalvo-Tribue <— SOUNDS TRAGIC ALERT!! She loses her husband right after they get married and… “And now, four years later, my life still feels like a hopeless eternity. So, I guess it’s quite fitting that the last person I want to hear from is currently standing at my front door. He wants to tell me the truth about that night, he wants to be my new knight in shining armor, but the thing is… He was the best man…“
- Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet Book 1) by CJ Roberts <— ONE OF MY FAV DARK READS ALERT!!!! This one is at a rock bottom price right now and if you love dark reads and haven’t read this one… *gasp!!!* It’s a MUST READ!!!! And if you’re intrigued with the dark reads (and I mean the “Stockholm Syndrome” kinds… then read it. But beware. It’s dark!!!). Kat says: “If only I could go back and read this again for the first time” (and here’s my review)
Embrace (The Embrace Series) by Cherie Colyer <— CRAZY-SOUNDING ALERT! And super-bargain priced!! The change?? What is the change!?? “When the doctors can’t find the answers, Madison seeks her own. Nothing can prepare her for what she is about to discover. Dangerous, intoxicating, and darkly romantic, Embrace is a thriller that will leave you spellbound.”
- One to Save (One to Hold Book 6) by Tia Louise <— JUST RELEASED! Can be read as a standalone.
- The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend by Alyssa Rose Ivy <— JUST RELEASED!
- Cut Too Deep by Marissa Farrar <— JUST RELEASED!
- Shadows and Lies (Shadows Series Book 1) by Eden Butler <— JUST RELEASED!
- Stay With Me (Book 2: Secrets) (Kyra’s Story) by Emily Jane Trent <— JUST RELEASED!
- Me Without You (Willowhaven Book 2) by Mindy Hayes <— JUST RELEASED!
Speed of Light: A Marauders Interlude by Lina Andersson <— BIKER BOOK ALERT (very popular series!!!) JUST RELEASED!
- His Proposed Deal by Sandi Lynn <— FAKE FIANCE ALERT! JUST RELEASED! “His proposed deal was that I had to pose as his fiancée until his twenty-sixth birthday so he could collect his trust fund. I’d help him and, in return, he’d help me achieve my dream.“
- Defiant: A Dystopian Collection by Mara Li, Jen Minkman, Lis Lucassen <— JUST RELEASED!
- Reft by Libby Austin <— RECLUSE & PSYCH STUDENT ALERT! JUST RELEASED “Once again, his dream had become a recurring nightmare. Brand coped the only way he knew how; retreat into solitude…“
- Heartstrings (Heart & Soul Book 1) by Kelli McCracken <— LOST HER MEMORY ALERT! JUST RELEASED!
Legacy (Sociopath Book 2) by Lime Craven <— JUST RELEASED!
- Sociopath: A Dark Romance by Lime Craven <— and here’s book #1 (both are super-bargain priced!)
- My Heart for Yours (Crawford) by S. Campbell & Mia Josephs <— bargain priced! “Break my heart, I’ll break yours…”
- Brother’s Keeper by Elizabeth Finn <— MichelleS recommends this one: “I finished Bev’s recommended Brother’s Keeper. It’s a 4 star for me. Really good. Lots of angst. Could have been really great. Still liked it, just wanted more! It was super hot though!!!”
- The Fight for Us (Bristol Island Standalone Books Book 1) by Elizabeth Finn <— BULLY ALERT! Another one by the same author (and a standalone). In this one, HER kid is bullying HIS kid… “It’s a rocky start for Joss and Isaiah as they try to set their daughters on the right path. But there is more to Joss’s and Isaiah’s connection than just two teenage girls. Joss’s and Isaiah’s attraction to one another is undeniable, regardless of their fractious start. But his soul is broken, and as much as he’s drawn to her, he’s equally terrified of what that means.“
- With Good Behavior (The Conduct Series) by Jennifer Lane <— SUPER-BARGAIN priced sounds like fun, and over 400 pages! They both got in trouble and meet at their Parole officers… “Sophie Taylor, a beautiful psychologist who lost everything when she violated an ethical boundary, and Grant Madsen, a handsome naval officer who sacrificed everything to protect a loved one, finding that love may carry an unbearable cost. Starting their lives over in Chicago, both are fighting influences from their family and running as fast as they can to escape the past. When their paths cross outside the parole officer’s door, the attraction is instantaneous…“
- The VIP Trilogy by M. Robinson <— Kimmie found us this series bundled at a rock bottom price!!
- Indivisible by Jessica McQuinn <— WIFE OF A NAVY SEAL ALERT! Whoa. I wonder what it is that freaks them both out so badly… that blurb!! “Charlie and Gideon Coopers story begins where most romance stories end: at the happily ever after. Gideons protective nature makes Charlie feel safe and happy in her new life as the wife of a Navy SEAL until her happily comes crashing down around her…” <— there’s more.
- Fatal (The Fatal Series) by TA Brock <— ZOMBIE ROMANCE? Hrmm… he “comes back” can’t remember his human life (but wants to) and apparently will begin decomposing UNLESS he finds her (but she has to give up her life for him?) Yikes! “She’s the new girl in a school that’s a fraction of the size of her old one. Her antisocial tendencies are crippling her ability to make new friends. And then there’s the recent, sudden death of her father, the only man who ever understood her. The last thing Cori wants is the attention of a strange, withdrawn, and consistently angry guy who seems to hate her for no apparent reason. A guy she can’t stop thinking about…“
PLUS for those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>
AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! ——> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <—This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

CANNOT wait until Deep arrives. Received a mail today that it is on its way. Surely know what I will be reading this weekend… “Happy smiles” 🙂 🙂
Finished Beautiful Redemption yesterday and I knew it would be amazing but still it just blew me away. Thomas is so different from Travis and Trent but I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE him.
Too many choices! Lucky for me, hubby is going away this weekend so I will be alone with my book addiction! Lol!
Deep Blue Eternity, Wild Reckless, Indivisible, Kulti…. Click, click, click, click….
Pia, I can’t wait for Deep either!
Read the preview for Deep – it is going to be soooo good. Can’t wait!
A lot of squees, but mostly for Deep and Instinct. Omg, when I get Instinct, I’m shutting out the world. In fact, once I’m done with this one, I’m reading the last Nick book. I remember how it ends, but I just want a refresher, since all Dark Hunter history got changed in it. 🙂
Continuing Bev’s first sentence of the book you’re reading game:
“What do you mean you’re pregnant?”
A Husband’s Regret by Natasha Anders
Ha Tessa! That’s a great first line!
I’m having coffee & pastery in a bookstore upstairs cafe. Lovely. How cool would it be to own something like this? But a bit of a dying breed.
Tessa, I did not read at all really and so………
“Guh.”
All I Want by Nicole Helm.
So far it’s pretty cute.
Destined For Power by Kathleen Brooks also released on March 31st. I am really liking this series.
Maryse-
Don’t forget that Shelly Crane has a new Significance book coming out March 31st called Undeniably Chosen. It’s Caleb and Maggie’s daughter Ava’s story. I can’t wait!! Significance is one of my all time favorite series!!
This list just screwed my barely-there book discipline seven ways from Sunday. But I love it!! 😀 I had already one-clicked Kulti and Unspeakable Truths, but now I am really wanting to read them. And Pretty Pink Ribbons…*oomph* That one just moved up too! Oh, and did you see Nicolle’s rec on the other post about Brise by Leigh Ann Lunsford?? Lots of five stars for that one and sounds *perfect*! But for now it’s Deep Blue Eternity for me…
I’m gonna second Branded (great dystopian read) and My Heart for Yours…although the second book My Fate for Yours broke my heart. If you read MHfY first then you will know why, but if you don’t then you’re going to get a nice little gut kick. Which is always fun. 😉
Thanks Maryse for including Kulti again!! Gah that book!!! I have so much love for it!! I think I’ve read it 5 times now because I have such a book hangover from it!!! I’ve been reading samples for other books and thinking meh…might as well just read Kulti again 🙂 Although I started a new one last night and got 20% into it so that’s a good sign!!
Go ahead and laugh at me, Maryse…you’re gonna soon be crying too! And if you don’t cry with Fisher’s Light then you can fix me up a nice hot plate of crow…or better yet, a crow cocktail!! Scotch, lemon juice and grenadine, in case you were wondering. 😉
Oh, oh, oh!! Smashbox Trio eyeshadows…I picked up a few of those this week and holy color payoff!!! I’m in love…again!!
I didn’t cry Amy. Gah! But that Crow cocktail sounds great… 😉
Jean, I’m a little jealous right now! I love my hubby to death and miss him terribly when he’s gone, but a whole weekend hubby-less with a slew of great new books to read?? Oooh, you’re gonna have fun. 😉
Believe me, I love my hubby too, but a little break every once in a while is nice……and absence makes the heart grow fonder (and I can read steadily without any dirty looks)! Lol!
Willow Point by S.R. Grey is on sale for 99 cents. Part of the Bestselling Harbour Falls trilogy, but can be read as a standalone. Same couple/love story, but different mysteries.
With u there Jean on the dirty looks at least u don’t have to keep saying ‘ I’m almost at the end of this chapter’ Pfft happens all the time here!
Thank god for u maryse I didn’t even know psychopath 2 was out!
Sociopath I ment God u with all the reading I do I could learn to spell!
Can’t wait for Deep as well. Oh Jean, I am jealous too, unfortunately my hubby never goes anywhere, but how I wish he would sometimes… Thanks Maryse, love seeing more books on here….
Just finished A Husband’s Regret. So many feels! It literally broke my heart more than once. It’d be heartbreak, then repair, then sad, then repair, then devastating, then resignation, then… AGH It’s by the same author as An Unwanted Wife, and it’s part two of the series, though the two books have nothing to do with one another. It was just pure emotional roller-coaster. *sighs*
Oh Tessa, I remember An Unwanted Wife and it was great. I’m pretty sure I have A Husband’s Regret too…ugh, your description of it just made me all giddy!
OMG Shane…your hubby comment… *snort*
Laura, just threaten his “man dangle bits.” 😛 Don’t know how I missed your comment about that the other day, but I just saw it and now I’m dying laughing here! LOL!!
*sigh* I need to stop stalling and messing around on my iPad and finish my housework…cleaning baseboards and windowsills is just not fun though. 😕
Tee hee Amy!!!!!! You said… ahhhh you know what you said. *snort*
Pfft u have to read that book amy their 1st date he takes her to a funeral….
Amy you never read a husband’s regret?! You have to!! I thought it was almost as good as TUW, I liked the third one too but my friends didn’t
Niki you’re killing me! I wish I could read two books simultaneously…
I only read the first “Husband’ one too…
Well this is A LOT since I haven’t updated since Monday. Please check prices since some deals are older but I *believe* most are still current.

Oooh, something to look through tonight. Can’t until later but for now, I already got the Captive Films Season One. If Keatyn Chronicles are anything to go off of, I’ll love it.
Tessa, if you ever read them, didn’t the Unwanted Wife remind you of the old harlequin presents? Even the way she described them. It was sort of fun to go back to that.
Oooh, it kind of did. All the angst and heartbreak! So did A Husband’s Regret. I remember those semi well? lol Those were my introduction to romance, before Julie Garwood. It’s been years since I read them, since I was only thirteen at the time. *ponders* What was my mom thinking?
Several have me one-clicking. Pretty Pink Ribbons, Indivisible, Deep Blue Eternity. But I’m scratching my head over the cover of Indivisible. It Looks like a man and woman hugging, but the hands just don’t look right. I think they look like a man’s hands. Hmmm…. still think I’m going to read Deep Blue Eternity next. Finished Fisher’s Light and really liked it.
Happy weekend reading. 🙂
Heh, man hands.
0.0 You’re right! That’s kind of disturbing.
I was going to look up a book because I remember the cover being so bad because of the hand placement, and ended up finding out that one of my all time favorite books is a Kindle Unlimited! 0.0 Also, there is a book five and six! *squeels* Rejar by Dara Joy, book two of the Matrix of Destiny series. All stand alones. But! Book five and six. I now have two books I have to read!
Rejar is a shapeshifter who went into a broken portal to save his brother? I think? and ended up literally landing as a cat on the heroine in the middle of regency England. *sighs* Rejar was a major book boyfriend. All those who like scifi/shapeshifter/regency (Seriously, it works!) read it. *grins*
Oh! Funny cover. Mine to Take by Dara Joy paperback version. It won Romantic Times’ Sexiest Cover of the year 1998, and it looks like she wants to tickle his underarm with her key. 0.0 There’s a reason he’s looking at her with worry in his eyes.
OMG Michelle so many bargain priced books I 1- clicked most of them after getting lots of books from Maryse’s lust as well.
The Dark Light Series Set by SL Jennings is on rock bottam price just in case someone here has not read these amazing books yet and have them on their TBR list.
Shell- “Maryse’s lust as well.” Bwahahahaha!!! Is that ever a Freudian slip or what! *giggle, snort*
Oh I am sooooo sorry. Maryse pls forgive me I ment to say LIST, this is really embarrassing and I am sure Amy will have a good laughs about it though.
No Cheryl it was a genuine mistake.
Tessa, for freebies I thought Dark Love and The Faerie Guardian sounded good too. I always click them all though and then usually pull out one or two for my top tbr free book collection.
Niki, I know that was a big almost too much to digest list! My new job has crazy hours but I will figure out a way to update at least once before I’m off Fridays. Also some deals expired by the time I got them up so that sucked since I like sharing to help people save some money with our book addictions 😀
Anyone try Pretty Pink Ribbons let us know what you think please – that one sounds really good too!
Grabbed them. I grabbed faerie rather quick because… Faeries! Just got Dark Love and I’ll try both out. Got the JB Salisbury, Vi Keeland, SM Reins and Tara Sivec right away. 🙂 Yet, instead of reading those, I’m re-reading Illusion to prepare for book six.
Just finished Fisher’s Light and loved it! And Yes Amy, i did cry quite a bit with this one. Now, what to read next….
Trying to decide between FIshers light, Time Served, Deep Blue Eternity, or finishing up two I was enjoying but got distracted by.
I can’t take the credit for that phrase, Maryse…Laura introduced us to that awesome term!! *snicker*
Shhhhh, Diane…they’ll hear you. *peeks around* If I put one more book in front of On the Island and Surviving Raine then I’m gonna get peanuts thrown at me. *sneakily moves AHR up list*
Man hands? Hang on… *looks at cover of Indivisible* Ummm, what’s throwing me off is the feminine-looking neck and shoulder…it looks like two chicks hugging with a set of man hands. But the punctuation errors in the blurb alone have me cringing. 😕
OMG, Maryse’s lust?!? Hey! That could be a new one…Maryse’s Lust List!!! *hee hee*
Aw Jean, it *did* make you cry. It was a good one though, right? 😉 See Bev, there you go…Fisher’s Light. 😀
I started Deep Blue Eternity last night, and it’s good so far! It’s a little predictable, and I’m about 99% sure that I have things figured out (even what I’m assuming is supposed to be a shocking *gasp* moment later on), but even so I’m still enjoying it. I think I’m gonna need something angsty after this though…
OMG MARYSE’S LUST LIST!!! YES! YESSSSSS!!!!!
There are some books that had me airing out my pajama top while reading… OMG YOU GUYS! I’m makin’ it!!!! 😛
Such an expensive book month for me. Such great books!
Michelle your freebie list is awesome. I always get all of them since I know we have similar reading tastes. It’s going to take a while to go through this one. Thanks!
Tessa I started rereading Illusion last week too, but I quickly realized that I remembered most of it. Maybe I’ll brush up on the ending but I’m sure it will be covered at the beginning of Instinct. Thanks for the Rejar rec, it sounds perfect for me.
I sure hope April releases give me a break. I have so little reading time right now. 🙁 SO, I’m getting my favs on both Kindle and Audible. hehehe. I wish my drive to work was longer. I miss my long commute.
It was really good! I loved it Amy! I have such a soft spot for military men!
I started Deep Blue Eternity this morning…..so far so good!
Fabi, I agree, I spent so much money on books this month!!!!!
Don’t forget Taz, by Andrea Smith too, Maryse! It is a follow on novel from her series, G-Men, which was amazing!!! I highly recommend every single one! 😉
Oooh, Fabi, if you read Rejar, tell me what you think. He was so awesome that he was a major bbf for me. *grins*
I’ll start the series from book 1. The books are about different characters right? Rejar is book 2? I just glanced at the blurb for the first few books so not sure if I have it right.
Lol Amy!! On the island keeps getting pushed back for me too for some reason, lmk when you’re ready and we’ll drunk buddy read it !
Yeah. They are standalones, but if you read them in order, you get an idea of why Rejar ends up in Regency England. *grins*
Oh my gosh everyone on here needs to read Deep Blue Eternity right now. I’m about 43% in and it is SO GOOD. Such honest characters and a perfect love story. I can’t put it down, can’t stop thinking about it when I’m not reading it, can’t wait to see what happens, but don’t want it to be over. It’s making me kuh-razy.
I just parked my kids in front of a movie, so as soon as I get the dishes cleaned up I’m back to my Kindle. Someone needs to go grocery shopping so I have some sweet-talking to do as soon as husband gets done in the garage. lol
Do you guys ever have music playing and think that would make a nice romance book premise/character?
Totally bev! Write one of those stories!!
All the time, Bev. Some songs are especially good for that.
Um ok the screen just changed. The song was Won’t Be the Last Time by Justin Townes Earle. So, angsty.
Ha, Diane M that would be be a travesty.
Just laughed a little. We should make a premise up like mad libs or, oh you know how you know your stripper name.
Like the heroines first name: Amy’s first pet name.
Last name: Tessa street address.
Nickname: Maryse child hood nickname.
Ok, can you tell I got a little bored again?

Hey, thanks Michelle. I ‘ve been wanting to read the Tucker one and the 2nd in the Cole series.
Anyone else seeing whit & green instead of pink & purple?
Tessa, so sorry I was just kidding you, I know mistakes happen with typing and autocorrect.
I’m reading Deep Blue Eternity and I’m enjoying it. II’m at 35% and I think I also have it figured out, but maybe I’ll be surprised. I think for my next book I need something that isn’t such a slow burn and a back and forth from past to present like DBE and also Fisher’s Light that I just read.
Tessa, I just got Knight of a Trillion Stars on loan so I’ll be starting it right after I finish Manwhore.
Michelle thank you so much for letting me know about booklending.com. I’ve already received several loans.
Bev, mine went to white. I avoided it last time everyone was commenting about the color change but I have it this time too. I think it has something to do with reader mode on mobile browsers but don’t quote me on that.
Cheryl, I’m right there with you. Finished Fisher’s Light yesterday and I’m at 63% of DBE. I love a slow build up but will definitely need to change it up after this one!
Bev, I got the Tucker one too since that was a great price on it.
Fabi, isn’t booklending.com awesome! Once you get a good borrow and lends list up it’s easy. I’m still getting 3 books a week and love it.
Ack, mobile mode! Cheryl, you said it to Shell, not me. If I make thzst typo, I should hope you calk me on it for the humor alone! *hugs* I remember another blog where I was writing about a sassy character…
Fabi, I so need you to give me a review when you’re done. I read all her books up to Ritual of Proof’s release. She stopped writing for many years after that.
I’m finishing up a YA para right now, Spearwood Academy. Pretty hood, interesting chars, good plot. Each book is so short, like 100ish pages each, but I’m on the latest, book 5. It’s still enjoyable. *grins*
Ack, promise, those typos were accidental. My autocorrect is in major fail mode today.
Deep Blue Eternity…yep, it’s what I thought it was going to be. 😉 Soooooo Jean and Cheryl, what are y’all gonna read for your angst fix? *rubs hands together* I’m thinking either Push and then Pull or Sweet Destruction. Ooh! Or maybe Need, the one where it looks like she is choking him out… 😛
*in a sing-songy voice* Yooo-hooo, Maryyyyyyse…did ya start Fisher’s yet? Did ya?? Did ya?!?
Oh yeah, I also picked up Black Rain from Michelle’s list above and it looks good too! 😀
Omigod Tessa Spearwood Academy is totally random and I have that one on my home page to read soon since it caught my attention…we really are on some sorta twin reading wavelength lol. Ok it’s kinda embarassing but that one snagged my attention too since it was suppose to have a harem of guys and one girl…like the Ghostbird series which we both read and I have a thing for the multiple guys and one girl as a love interest. Totally not feasible in the land of reality but I love reading about that kind of set up. If anyone has any suggestions for more books like that, I’m always looking for more since they are not that common.
Amy, I was really intrigued by Black Rain too and it had almost all 5 star reviews and the rest 4 star.
Ooo guys thanks I just 1-clicked Black Rain after reading the blurb. Thanks for those lists Michelle! I got Burying Water too! Been waiting for that to go on sale!
I don’t know what I’m reading next. Just finishing up DBE.
“I have a thing for the multiple guys and one girl” <——- Well then… *snort* 😛
Shaun of the Dead is not a good movie to have on in the background when you're trying to read…sooooo stupid but freaking hilarious, and I want to hang out with those two guys so badly, dangit! 😉
I just finished Manwhore. Stomach tied in knots. Katy has a way of writing about first love and heartache that gets me every time.
Now, what’s this I hear about a harem of men? Are y’all trying to sidetrack me? I can’t squirrel, I have a loan I have to read next. Lol
Haha I said it was embarassing Amy…but hot, come on who’s with me!
Amy I haven’t watched that since it came out. Where everyone sort of looks like zombies anyway, lol. I keep meaning to try Hot Fuzz, but just haven’t picked it up yet.
Watched Home Front last night, not much of a story. JS is hot but what kind of accent he was trying for???? I so wish that Winona Ryder was in more movies, as a lead. And grabbed Delivery Man, lol. Don’t care how bad the movie is probably going to be Vinc e Vaughan usually makes me laugh.:-)
Depends on the writing! This one is different than that, though oddly… yeah, I can’t even describe the men type without reveals. Gonna say, not all are potential love interests. 😛 Still good, though.
Michelle I grabbed the Ghost Bird one awhile ago( your rec) but have not read it yet. Are they all in a relationship together? I thought it was one of those that they all have crushes on her.
Ghostbird is hard to describe too relationship wise but they are all interested in her and I do not believe the author is going to have her pick one guy. It seems the series is headed towards multiple romantic relationships but it’s slow going. It’s more YA too but has potential to grow into more. I usually only enjoy the male harem set up in the paranormal world. I think that series is the only one I’ve read that does not have that. Spearwood Academy is definitely paranormal.
Amy, I finished Deep Blue Eternity. It was somewhat predictable, but that didn’t keep it from being a really good read. I just wish the ending was more.
I don’t have any idea what I’m reading next. I did read Push, but dnf Pull. Need is book one and 2 is not out yet, so that’s a no for me. 😉
Finished Fisher’s Light. I didn’t cry but I did really enjoy it. I think my only problem is so many of the scenes were partially repeated. The ones revisted to *see* through Fisher’s eyes were great, but otherwise a little repetitive. Love the sign, such a sweet idea. That would make a great wedding gift.
Now deciding between the Tucker one, The Understatement of the Year, Radiance, Poison Princess, or Time Served. Decisions decisions.
All done with the Spearwood Academy series (so far). Five got sad, then a little worried, but definitely YA. Now I have to wait for book six. The sad thing? Five books probably equaled one normal novel size. *grins*
Oh, and thanks for that rec Amy. 🙂
I still haven’t read Who Buries the Dead. I waited so long and now keep putting it off. Do you guys ever do that? Like waiting for the perfect day or mood or something to pull it out? But maybe today…..
Bev, those are the best decision choices ever. I still have to read Radiance, so I’ll reserve trying to influence you. I’m reading Claimed by Sarah Fine. I didn’t realize it finally came out, and I loved Marked.
I have a few books like that. Like, *kicks a pebble* Archer’s Voice.
BEV – RADIANCE!!!! One of my favorites this year!!! It was awesome. Awesome writing and an amazing story. So good.
I totally agree with you on Fisher’s Light. I never cried. Early on I had a lump in my throat because of his part of the story. I really liked it, but there was a lot of the same scene over and over. 4 stars for me. Very enjoyable, just nothing earth shattering.
Now what? I am thinking I need to check out my TBR list because Tuesday is going to be too tempting for me. Going back to Master of Crows, I think.
Careful Tessa, lol. Mine no one else on here has read, but a lot looooove Archer. You, Amy, & Cheryl will be in the same boat.
Ok, Radiance it is. I guess I’m feeling very mellow and just going with the flow following everyone’s recs.
MichelleS, So mentioned before that the beginning of Master of Crows was bumpy for me.if I hadn’t read it based off of a review that mentioned that very problem I probably would have put it aside. But it did smooth out and became a really good read for me. It got a little bumpy at the end but again just in regards to the world building & magic. And I think that little part may have been my own lack of understanding. I will read the next book in that world though.
I’m looking for a new book too and MichelleS you’ve convinced me that I need to go with Radiance! I’m in the mood for fantasy. Bev, buddy read time 😀
Random, but does anyone have a good vegetarian soup recipe? I need it for Friday but all the good recipes I’m finding online have meat…
MichelleS, just started but….
“her parasitic gaze”, “She possessed the teeth of a tiny horse”, “She was a challenge to look upon without wincing” ~ oh my. Lol. This may be fun.
Michelle, yay on buddy read.
On the soup, Amy probably has a great one if she pops in. I did recently hear about a recipe blog called budgetbytes.com on a podcast. Have not tried any thing yet but the recipes look good. She has a Vegetarian/Vegan section.
Haha she was a challenge to look at…well now. I’m watching Walking Dead but after I will start it. I will check that site out Bev thanks. I’m trying to find one while watching zombies eat people so maybe that’s why nothing is looking good huh?!
Oh really? Didn’t cry, huh? Well, all y’all who didn’t cry while reading Fisher’s are just a heartless lot…so there! Scared of my recs my a$$. 😛
Soup recipes, hmmm… What kind are you looking for, Michelle? Straight veggie soups, vegetarian soups with protein from lentils or beans, is there a specific theme? Oooh! Speaking of lentils, it’s more of a side dish than a soup but I have this insanely good recipe from Ina Garten that is made with lentils and veggies and is so freaking amazing. I also have a veggie soup recipe with cumin so it has a mexican flavor. Let me know…
And Walking Dead!! Hubby took me out for sushi and Coldstone, and now we’re settling in to watch the season finale…I’m nervous!
Ohhh Walking Dead was good!! Very cringewothy!! I was a wreck the whole time!!!
I’m finally reading Lead by Kylie Scott since Deep comes out on Tuesday and so far it’s good!! Anyone read the Sweet Home series by Tillie Cole?? I’m curious if I have to read them all and if they are good???
Niki I loved Sweet Home series. Different and captivating. Not the best writing in the world, a little clunky and cliche/obvious at times, but that was forgivable as it was very different from what is out there right now. I’m looking forward to the series continuing.
Susan Fanetti has an awesome MC series. I would recommend that first. More depth and flow of writing is good.
Question – anyone know how to buy Molly Harper eBooks in Australia? Cannot find them…
Yes Walking Dead had me nervous quite a few times that someone I love was gettin the ax!
Amy, for soups I’m open to anything as long as it’s yummy 🙂 I’m still looking though since nothing is jumping out at me. Maybe something creamier since others are not making anything like that.
I went completely off my TBR and started Lifers last night. I am really liking it and only at 10%. She is a wild child of preacher mother and he is just out of jail and an outcast in the small town. I’ll keep you updated!
Niki, I read the first one and it wasn’t for me. I’ve also seen some football fans upset because she did not quit get some of those aspects right. She uses a well known team and university. That was not really my problem, but if you are a fan may bother you.
It was just one of those books I found myself skimming. But she also has a lot of fans so it might not hurt to try.
Quit should be quite.
I really need some,.”coffee coffee coffee”
I LOOOOOVVVE COFFEE!!!
Jake Understood released today! Limited sale for one day only! I loved Jake Undone!!
MichelleS, I m just at the part where they are at his home. I’m liking it a lot, love a slow burn. Thought I’d read on my commute this morn,.but it’s a music type morning, lol. Pick it back up on why home and probably finish tonight.
Thanks for the rec.
M’kay Michelle, I’ll see if I can find ya something. 😉
Starbucks venti tiramisu latte with two extra shots (okay, three extra shots ;))…*wipes drool from chin*
Ooh that sounds good Amy. Just going to hit up whatever coffee is closest to my stop.
Amy, I think I found one already:
https://thewanderlustkitchen.com/easy-tuscan-bean-soup/
Alright, now *that* sounds delicious!! If you want to add a bit of a nip to it, try substituting ground white pepper for the black pepper and maybe even increase the amount a tad. Aw man, I’m hungry now and I want more coffee! And Bev, it is good…SO good.
Finishing up my work now and then I’m starting Sweet Destruction…crossing my fingers for some angst!
Michelle, I love soup & that looks so good. Tell us how it turns out, may have to try it.
Amy, I love their salted caramel frap when they put alittle salt on top.
Ohhhh, salted caramel drinks are yummers, Bev. I was so sad last year when they told me they wouldn’t be carrying the mocha coconut fraps during the summer. Maybe this year they will though!
Anything by Tara Sivec is amazing. Her Other series – Playing with Fire is amazing as well as well as her Ignite Series. Very different from her Chocolate series which is very funny. I’m on it after I read Six of Hearts LH Cosway and Hearts of Fire. I’m loving Six of Hearts. Enjoy !
Ok I’m committing to that soup if you both think it looks good. I have white pepper Amy so I will sub in some along with black. I’m also going to add corn or peas too.
Oh and Radiance is completely fascinating and I love how they both think the other is hideous haha. Hopefully I have time to read a little more tonight – Bev you might finish before me!
Michelle – soup – do not laugh – this is my favorite from childhood: sauteed cream of wheat soup (use a veggie stock instead of beef or chicken, make sure it gets lightly browned)… so yummy (fresh parsley)…. I kid you not. The simplest is sometimes the best!!!
Radiance – loved that they thought the other was the hideous one! And the wedding feast (laughed out loud). True beauty and the best story. Got really emotional at the end.
I am reading Jacked, The Trent Brothers Book 1. I decided I would read at least 5 pages from a bunch of books and whatever grabbed me I would read, and this was it! Kind of surprised myself. I’m only at 12% so I need more before I throw out any OMGs!!! 🙂
Forgot to attach a link to the soup recipe… my bad…
(anyone else ever eat cream of wheat soup? man it’s good)
https://www.germancookbooks.com/Free_Recipes/Sauteed%20Cream%20of%20Wheat%20Soup.pdf
Michelle, that would be shocking. Seriously so.
MichelleS, never heard of it before. I won Jacked but haven’t read yet so be curious as to what you think. Did you give up on Master of Crows? 🙁
Bev – no – I was just not in the mood for fantasy or PNR – I want to give it the time and attention it deserves, because Radiance was so amazing, so I know this will be good too… I just need to be in the right mood. It’s a definite read for me. (Master of Crows).
So far so good on Jacked. I like the people already and the writing is good, very good believable dialogue. Not sure about back story yet – I’ll let you know Bev.

That sounds good MichelleS! I like simple and most of the people I cook for like that too. We are all meat eaters though so finding something vegetarian that sounded good took some time. I’m dying to get back to Radiance, really good so far!
For Bev and Michelle, who are reading Radiance.. just one word… POTATO… LOL…
I enjoyed the larva-potato description as well lol
Reasonable Doubt was awesome. *grins* I got all the freebies this time. (Reasonable Doubt is KU, so I didn’t own it.) Iron Butterfly and A Cappella intrigue me.
*glares at the omnibus, muttering*
You all are persuading me on Radiance.
The potato, lol. The pie!! :-*
Satisfaction and very tempted by After dark at that price. Big drop.
Oh, finished Captive Films, Season one. Good if you like the Keatyn series. Loved a nice twist on the other couples, and Keatyn and Aiden’s HEA is just a fun part to read. *grins* I’m not buying anything other than the full season. The episodes are like, fifty pages. I’d go nuts!
Thanks Bev for your input!! I feel like we have similar tastes so I think I’ll pass on reading those right now!! I think I’m going to read Ten Below Zero…it looks like a nice short read before all the new releases tomorrow!
Tessa I barely just met Rejar and already love him. 🙂
🙂
Rajar? Matrix of Destiny??? Let me know how you like it Fabi – it sounds right up my alley (in a Cat Star Chronicles totally crazy sexy PNR kind of way). Is it like that??
I’m on book 1. Rejar is in book 2. But yeah, he’s a sexy as sin shifter/magician/alien from what I can tell. 🙂
Oh and Tessa says he goes to Recency England in book 2. Can’t wait. Lol
A sexy shifter-magician- alien? Triple threat! That pretty much covers all the bases, so I bet it’s a totally fun ride. Will put it in my TBR for when I need pure sexy entertainment (my trip to Hawaii needs lots of beach reading material). Has a bunch of good reviews… so it must be so much fun!!!
Hawaii – I could be jealous. 🙂
I love it. Shane your getting a lust list! Seriously lol.
Except Shane should be Shell, lol.
CHEERS! Crow cocktails all around!! 😀 I think for me Fisher’s Light was one of those books that kinda hit so close to home that I couldn’t help but get all emotional and weepy. Not that hubby has ever done any of that (so eternally grateful about that!) but I’ve seen it happen and it hurts so badly to watch someone go through it. *sigh* Alright, bring on the plate of crow and crow cocktails… *makes grabby hands*
Hehe, are you sure it was your pajama TOP that you were airing out?? *runs away cackling*
Oh Maryse that is just too cute and funny and gah I can’t even stop laughing.
Maryse your going to be speaking at RT? Fabi & MichelleS, now you really need to go, lol.
Michelle, that is pretty much my face too. Now off to look that series up.
Oh no way, where did you hear that Bev?
