<— MARITAL STRIFE ANGST ALERT!!!Β Reclaiming Izabel (Special Forces: Operation Alpha)Β went live just a few days ago, and to celebrate, author Victoria Paige is sponsoring this week’s newsletter AND she’s having a giveaway right here on the blog.
“…a marriage-in-trouble, back-from-the-dead military suspense store and early reviews say it’s an angsty-emotional one… ;)”
And she gave me the ultimate, and I MEAN ULTIMATE, excerpt that got me right in the “feels”. Short and sweet and oh SO emotional, and on this alone, I wanna read it. π The author says:
“My choice of an excerpt is not really a spoiler, but I think it builds the angst for what readers know is about to come. ;)”
YESSSS!!! And here it is:
βBut I couldnβt wait, Iza.β Not letting go of her hands, he knelt in front of her. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears and she held back the sob that rose to her throat when she realized what he was doing. βEvery time Iβm away from you itβs as if Iβm missing a limb. I canβt leave for another mission without worrying someone is going to steal you away from me.β At her confused gasp, he added, βIβm an insecure son of a bitch when it comes to you. Canβt help it, donβt wanna help it, deal with it.β
At her annoyed huff, he sighed. βBefore I mess this up further.β He reached into his pocket and held the ring heβd purchased weeks ago.
βMarry me.β He watched the tears spill from her eyes and his own heart expanded to the point of exploding. βIβm soul-deep in love with you. I never understood what that meant until you. So marry me, Iza, make me the happiest damned bastard on the planet.β
That memory was like a faded photograph, but he never forgot how he felt that day she said yes.
