I adored Eleanor and Park. Read it on your recommendation. I also loved her book titled Fangirl. I will definitely by checking out Landline. Just downloaded The Butterfly Garden. Can’t wait!!

bev September 18, 2016 at 3:15 PM

Ooh, cover changes. I’ll admit many of the current covers, the Kennedy ones included, are nice to look at. Very nice, lol. But, it would be nice if they are starting to realize not all the covers need to look like that. Also, covers can be so creative and artistic. I love seeing the cover art all lined up in a store or library.
Speaking of I think both of those Rowell covers are great and represents the story inside the book.
Yes, Maryse read Landline.

bev September 18, 2016 at 3:29 PM

And I just looked at them…..
From abs to thigh highs…..ok then. :/

Maryse September 18, 2016 at 3:52 PM

I knew that “news” was for you, bev!!!!! :D And many of us. I agree that I gravitate to more unique (pro) covers.

Robyn September 18, 2016 at 4:41 PM

For all the Afterlife Saga fans…Sacrifice of the Septimus part 2 came out yesterday!

Anne September 18, 2016 at 10:38 PM

Just finished Retrieval and freakin’ loved it!!! I can’t wait for the next one. I read it in one sitting. 5 stars for sure.

Amy September 18, 2016 at 10:39 PM

So, I check out The Deal’s new covers.

- a pair of legs I’ll never have but no half-naked guy so I’ll take it

- a hide-the-beaver shot

- some pretty lips making an O face

I think the whipped cream vodka is making me a little too critical right now. *snort* BUT they are a nice change from the originals. Maybe our voices are finally being heard? Or maybe it’s just coincidence and me feeling self-important. :P

Amy September 18, 2016 at 10:42 PM

The Silent Waters and Secret Sins are MINE!!

Thank you Maryse!!!! :D

Reading Secret Sins and it is so good!

Cheryl September 19, 2016 at 6:34 AM

I started reading Secret Sins last night. Have to admit I’m nervous at how this will end. The h’s name was familiar to me and realized that she was in the submission series, which almost made me not want to read this book. She’s not a “bad” character, but I just don’t see how this ends well and the author also says in the blurb there is a shocking twist at the end. Kinda have an idea what that is.

R. Renee September 19, 2016 at 6:38 AM

I just added Secret Sins to my TBR. The reviews are sucking me in!

Lisa September 19, 2016 at 7:53 AM

With all of our banging on about bulges, crotch grabbers and headless torso shots….has Elle Kennedy taken it onboard….maybe?

Can someone tell me if Playboy Pilot in kindle form is available to you yet? Im a bit worried its going to be one of those that isnt available here except in paperback. Dammit.

Tasha J September 19, 2016 at 8:20 AM

I’ve had my eye on The Girl With All The Gifts and Landline! Andrea Randall’s Chasing Kane released today, the blurb sounds intriguing! And I really liked Amelie Fisher’s lighter take on Penny In London so I’m looking forward to Get in the Car Jupiter, also out now! Whoo! Speaking of Bridget Jones, I never read the books, but saw the movies and last night went to see Bridget Jones’s Baby! I loved it! So funny, everyone in the theater was gasping and laughing! Lol, highly recommend for a movie

Amy September 19, 2016 at 8:23 AM

Cheryl, I read the Submission series but it’s been a while so I don’t remember a whole lot about it. I remember a Jonathan being dominant during sexy time, a vindictive ex, an ex-sub that caused some jealousy in the h, and…that’s it. :? I wish I remembered the h in Secret Sins though. Maybe if I finally read Coda it would help?

Amy September 19, 2016 at 8:32 AM

Tasha…The Girl With All the Gifts is different. GOOD different. You’ll really want some people to get their comeuppance, trust me. Let me know what you think of it!

I just re-read my post from last night about EK’s cover makeovers. *cringes* Yeah, that wasn’t nice, especially since they are the change we’ve been wanting. I’ll definitely take the new ones, and I REALLY hope they update to those in my library!

Jean September 19, 2016 at 8:39 AM

The Silent Waters…..1-click! Loved the first 2 in this series so much!

For any of you who haven’t read the T.M. Frazier King Series…..IT’S A MUST READ! Patiently waiting for Preppy!

So I finished A Torrid Affair and like Cheryl I didn’t like the direction it took. The first half of the book, I loved, then ugh….disappointed.

Starting Tracing Holland because I LOVED Night Shifts Black (and Playboy Pilot hasn’t come out yet!)

bev September 19, 2016 at 8:40 AM

Amy, I was right there with you sister. And no apologies. It is a step but it’s a side step not a step forward. I’m not sure how those covers are for public consumption. They look like members of the girls next store. I don’t remember the heroines dressing and laying around like that. I mean they’re cut thigh highs, I like pink, but still. And what’s with the blind fold and big whistle?

Amy September 19, 2016 at 9:24 AM

Jean…you did better than me. I didn’t even make it to 50% and I quit. :? But I agree on King! Okay, so I only read the first one (so far) but I REALLY liked it.

“…it’s a side step not a step forward.” <—– LOL!! And "blind fold and big whistle"…that's what I was calling the O face! There's just something about gorgeous, artsy covers or those which are simple but gorgeous that suck me right in. Full Tilt and All In…need I say more? The cover for Badger is what grabbed my attention, and I even like the new covers for the Fallen Crest series…but that may be because I love the books. ;) Oh, and most of Colleen Hoover's covers…Ugly Love, It Ends With Us, Hopeless…*sigh* OH! Covers with water or bright, bold flowers. And covers that make my heart ache.

Cheryl September 19, 2016 at 10:18 AM

Amy, she’s the big sister of the H from the corruption series. Knowing her character from that, I’m anxious and unsure how this book will end.

The book I read this weekend, On the Corner of Heartache & Love caught my attention BECAUSE of the cover. Those are the one’s that get my attention more than the same ole half-naked guy. I think I’ve become desensitized to those covers.

Amy September 19, 2016 at 10:33 AM

Yeah Cheryl, I think most of us HAVE become desensitized to those half-naked guys. :?

And I cannot for the life of me remember her from that series! Message me on GR when you get the chance and remind a bit about her? Pretty please with a cherry martini on top??

DG September 19, 2016 at 2:06 PM

Secret Sins…here I come! Read the first chapter and totally sucked in…and everyone knows I am not a an if love triangles…but the blurb hints at a possible one…and a shocker…yeah, in for a penny in for a pound…bring on the feels…

DG September 19, 2016 at 2:06 PM

*Not a FAN of love triangles

Cheryl September 20, 2016 at 5:49 AM

Amy I messaged you on GR. I had it wrong in my last comment; this h is from the submission series. I haven’t read the corruption series, but I think it deals with the same family; just a different family member is the MC.

DG, it is really good. I think you’ll be ok with the “love-triangle.” I should finish today and so far I’ve enjoyed it and am feeling better about where this is probably going. What I was thinking, I just found out was true. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop now. I know how some of this will end, having read the submission series which takes place after this one. ;)

Amy September 20, 2016 at 12:11 PM

Cheryl…I messaged you back. ;) I knew what series you meant (Submission versus Corruption) because of Jonathan.

Soooo, I went back through the Submission series looking up Margie for anything that might give me some insight on her (since Secret Sins is about her), and Jonathan mentions something involving her that I think is going to be rough to read about.

And I’m suspecting something that might happen (possibly the twist), but it could be my overactive imagination…
