Good morning my book peeps! *catches a Nespresso pod*. I want to try too!

MichelleS November 13, 2017 at 10:25 AM

I feel so LOST…. No clue what everyone has been up to. And the new people. Bev – where’s Bev? She will give me the 30-second run down, right?

So what HAVE I read? Well, I read the Sinners of Saint books by L.J. Shen. They are all stand alones, but about the same group of guys. They were super hot, and had major alpha heroes. I liked the angst and the second chance romances. Highly recommend.

I am currently reading Lauren Gilley’s newest one – White Wolf. OMG. This girl can write. I already knew that, because her other series is a must read, but she is writing paranormal? And doing it well. Complex, slow, but amazing!

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 10:32 AM

My slow cooker (the ceramic insert bowl thingie) is cracked. I’m crying!!!!!

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 10:34 AM

MichelleS I am collecting the Sinners books. I started the latest one that was just released a few weeks ago. It’s a bit slow going for me (back and forth in the POV’s is causing me issue, it think or maybe I need to start from book #1 since I don’t know the “other” guys) but I think I’m going back in because I hear it’s awesome.

R. Renee November 13, 2017 at 10:47 AM

Oh Maryse! That sucks! I’m canceling today. FB kicked me out and LP announced her very NON TEXAS tour.

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 11:03 AM

My mom just saw my crock-pot crying post on Facebook and is sending me an Instant Pot (Insta Pot?) for Christmas. YAY ME!!!!! :D !!!

*bounces up and down clapping*

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 11:06 AM

Why’d FB be so mean??

R. Renee November 13, 2017 at 11:08 AM

IDK and I’m trying not to panic LOL. I hope I’m in FB jail and it will resolve itself in 24 hrs but I haven’t been told one way or another and I can’t contact them!

Tessa November 13, 2017 at 11:27 AM

Grrr. They probably got some weird complaint or you have a normal name they think is fake. (FB is weird like that) Did you set up a trusted contact with them? If not, see if this will help you. https://www.facebook.com/help/186570224871049?ref=chinnz25

Maryse, on the other site, you were asking for another book that people loved. To Hate Jason Thorne by Ella Maise. It’s all that I love a fun, light angst book. I was smiling HUGE throughout it.

MichelleS, Hiee! *grins* And yes, that series needs to be read in order. Technically it’s “standalone” but not really. lol Too much that happens in the first books play in the next one. The exception is you can read Defy either first or second. It doesn’t affect anything.

R. Renee November 13, 2017 at 11:29 AM

Thank you Tessa!! I’ll try that. And no I didn’t set one up. I didn’t even know that was an option.

R. Renee November 13, 2017 at 11:35 AM

That won’t work because I can’t get to my FB page to click on the “?” ugh. I think at this point all I can do is wait. Or hire a FB expert if those even exist.

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 11:51 AM

Oh YES Tessa!!!! I remember wanting to read that one. Let me bring it back to the top of my list. Thank you!! :D

Jean November 13, 2017 at 12:10 PM

Happy Monday (not)….

Loving that cover of Spider!

R, that sucks!

I loved the Sinners books…. still have too read Scandalous though.

Hi MichelleS!!!! Bev has been somewhat scarce around here…..i think she’s in a major book slump.

Too many new releases…. I’m losing my mind!

Tessa November 13, 2017 at 2:10 PM

Robin, use your author account.

R. Renee November 13, 2017 at 2:13 PM

There isn’t a question mark on that one. But I did send messages and I see 3 of them in my inbox when I look on my phone. I can’t even access my support inbox on the browser anymore.

Nay November 13, 2017 at 3:08 PM

Wth, Robin? I can’t believe there’s no way to contact them and find out what’s going on. Or that they don’t at least send you an email stating, in general terms, what the problem is. That’s weird!

Nay November 13, 2017 at 3:09 PM

Hey MichelleS! We’ve been wondering where you were on GR. Glad you’re ok!!

bev November 13, 2017 at 3:38 PM

MichelleS, I’ve read 1 book since September. ONE. Book.
I’m broken.
Been really into music and K dramas though. Fighting!
The one book was suppose to be a BR with Maryse, but she is too busy in Mississippi.
That maybe what broke me.
Fabi disappeared so R got really close to Nay’s lady bits.
She makes them tingle.
Learning that maybe what broke me.
Amy saves people by night and plays in their blood by day.
That just scared me.
I haven’t introduced myself to the new people.
New people scare me too.
They maybe what broke me.

Jean November 13, 2017 at 3:39 PM

LMAO bev! I love you!

Leslie M November 13, 2017 at 4:32 PM

Bev, since I can’t hug you to cheer you up, maybe this will help:

Look what’s coming!

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28269171-puddin

I hope you get your reading mojo back.

Leslie M November 13, 2017 at 4:41 PM

Guess what I bought at store today?

Pot roast and pepperoncini! I will be cooking that baby tomorrow. I am going to do mine with carrots, potatoes & celery too.

MichelleS November 13, 2017 at 5:52 PM

Bev!!!! I’m broke too. I have started & adandoned so many books in the last couple of months. I need a new Patricia Briggs or something to get me excited. I blame that dang CNN, and all the craziness in the world.

You know how I know I’m broken? I haven’t read Chaol’s story by Sarah J Maas. And I love her! See!!!

Sinners of Saint series got me out of my slump. Not sure how or why. This new Lauren Gilley book is awesome too. Maybe I’m healing?

LOTS of new people. Hi new people.

MichelleS November 13, 2017 at 5:56 PM

Jean – Scandalous was actually the first one I read, then went back to read others!

MichelleS November 13, 2017 at 5:59 PM

BTW Maryse, I use my pressure cooker at least three days a week! I love it. I look on Pinterest for recipes.

Tessa November 13, 2017 at 6:49 PM

MichelleS! I feel so much better! I pre-ordered Chaol’s book and I still haven’t read it. I’ve been mostly reading mafia stuffs.

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 6:58 PM

YAY LESLIE!!!!!!!! Did you get some ranch or Italian dressing? Dry or wet should work fine. Recipes call for dry, but the last one I made I had a bottle of Italian and I used half of it. Was delicious.

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 7:01 PM

LOL bev!!!!!!

Awwwwwwwwww!!!

*Goes and gets some honey to crazy-glue bev back together*

As long as you stay with us. We love and need you bev. Watch shows and movies, and read whenever you feel like it. We’re all buds forever here. <3 :D

bev November 13, 2017 at 7:28 PM

Aww. Honey. You made me sweet.

Cheryl November 13, 2017 at 7:35 PM

Maryse I use the dry Lipton onion soup mix- I do mix it with water and then pour over my pot roast in the crock pot. I put potatoes, carrots and onions in with it.

Bev, I think you’re broken because you crack yourself up!!

Cheryl November 13, 2017 at 7:36 PM

Hi MichelleS!! And the new people! ;)

Nay November 13, 2017 at 7:43 PM

bev–after my LVAD surgery, I went 6 months without reading a word. I filled my days with netflix and food network and cooked and cooked. I just couldn’t bring myself to open a book, and after a while, it almost became like this entity that was staring me in the face, making me feel bad, almost guilty, and not even tempting me.

Then, I can’t explain it, but one day I just knew I was ready to start reading again. I think I was worn out on all the tv series I had watched and I realized I missed the escape I could find in my books. I think everyone needs a break at some point. It’ll come back to you too.

Maryse November 13, 2017 at 8:01 PM

Thank you Stacy!!! I’ll make sure to include it on the big Tuesday list!! :D

Kooloo November 13, 2017 at 8:43 PM

Well hello there Bev & Cheryl & MichelleS! I’m Kooloo, a First Nations woman from Canada and oh yay I deal drugs – legally of course!!!

I’m also ELA’s twin (the good one of course) oh that reminds me ELA just texted me tonight she is finally coming home from her boozin’ vacay ooops I mean beautiful vacay!!! Oh and she broke her finger doin’ some freaky shit… y’all should def ask her about it!

Now back to my Netflix movie “1922″ https://youtu.be/
I totally remember reading this story by SK years ago and it scared the shit out of me… so why the hell am I watch this?!? GAHHHHHHH :0

Leslie M November 13, 2017 at 9:21 PM

Kooloo, that is hilarious about Ela! I can’t wait to hear about her shenanigans.

Maryse, for the roast I am going to brown it first and add pepperoncini w/juice, beef broth, dry italian seasoning, celery, carrots, potatoes all in crockpot. Will let you know how it comes out.

R. Renee November 13, 2017 at 9:24 PM

It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, Leslie, but I did not allow myself to brown that roast. IDK if Maryse does, but it was not necessary in the slightest and I’d be worried it might actually alter the results in a negative way. And there is plenty of juice without the broth. Did you get a gravy packet? (I did toss in about half a stick of butter just because).

Leslie M November 14, 2017 at 6:22 AM

R, I think Maryse browns hers. I know lots of recipes I have seen don’t brown…but that is how I always make roast. Too much fat already on my roast to add butter (I got the cheap cut). I didnt do gravy thing either. Crap! Do I need that? Hmm…maybe I will have to run to store this a.m.

It snowed here yesterday! Just the wet kind that doesn’t stick. (thank goodness)

Maryse November 14, 2017 at 6:49 AM

I only ever browned mine once, and I didn’t find a difference, flavor wise after it all cooks together like that for so long. So I do it the lazy way and just throw it all together now. ;)

Leslie M November 14, 2017 at 8:11 AM

Thanks Maryse! I remember seeing a browned pic of it when you made it a while back.
