Happy Monday everybody!! It’s the start to another great week, and it kicks off nicely ’cause quite a few books snuck in early today (like that awesome-sounding one to the left). Saw several intriguing looking blurbs above…three right off that look like my kinda books!
I feel so LOST…. No clue what everyone has been up to. And the new people. Bev – where’s Bev? She will give me the 30-second run down, right?
So what HAVE I read? Well, I read the Sinners of Saint books by L.J. Shen. They are all stand alones, but about the same group of guys. They were super hot, and had major alpha heroes. I liked the angst and the second chance romances. Highly recommend.
I am currently reading Lauren Gilley’s newest one – White Wolf. OMG. This girl can write. I already knew that, because her other series is a must read, but she is writing paranormal? And doing it well. Complex, slow, but amazing!
MichelleS I am collecting the Sinners books. I started the latest one that was just released a few weeks ago. It’s a bit slow going for me (back and forth in the POV’s is causing me issue, it think or maybe I need to start from book #1 since I don’t know the “other” guys) but I think I’m going back in because I hear it’s awesome.

MichelleS, Hiee! *grins* And yes, that series needs to be read in order. Technically it’s “standalone” but not really. lol Too much that happens in the first books play in the next one. The exception is you can read Defy either first or second. It doesn’t affect anything.

YAY LESLIE!!!!!!!! Did you get some ranch or Italian dressing? Dry or wet should work fine. Recipes call for dry, but the last one I made I had a bottle of Italian and I used half of it. Was delicious.

Maryse I use the dry Lipton onion soup mix- I do mix it with water and then pour over my pot roast in the crock pot. I put potatoes, carrots and onions in with it.

bev–after my LVAD surgery, I went 6 months without reading a word. I filled my days with netflix and food network and cooked and cooked. I just couldn’t bring myself to open a book, and after a while, it almost became like this entity that was staring me in the face, making me feel bad, almost guilty, and not even tempting me.
Then, I can’t explain it, but one day I just knew I was ready to start reading again. I think I was worn out on all the tv series I had watched and I realized I missed the escape I could find in my books. I think everyone needs a break at some point. It’ll come back to you too.

Maryse, for the roast I am going to brown it first and add pepperoncini w/juice, beef broth, dry italian seasoning, celery, carrots, potatoes all in crockpot. Will let you know how it comes out.
It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, Leslie, but I did not allow myself to brown that roast. IDK if Maryse does, but it was not necessary in the slightest and I’d be worried it might actually alter the results in a negative way. And there is plenty of juice without the broth. Did you get a gravy packet? (I did toss in about half a stick of butter just because).
R, I think Maryse browns hers. I know lots of recipes I have seen don’t brown…but that is how I always make roast. Too much fat already on my roast to add butter (I got the cheap cut). I didnt do gravy thing either. Crap! Do I need that? Hmm…maybe I will have to run to store this a.m.
It snowed here yesterday! Just the wet kind that doesn’t stick. (thank goodness)
I only ever browned mine once, and I didn’t find a difference, flavor wise after it all cooks together like that for so long. So I do it the lazy way and just throw it all together now. 😉
