WEDNESDAY BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! A few more new releases & finds to post!
- Lay It Down by Mary Calmes <— M/M ROMANCE “…being stuck without a passport in a foreign country far from home is a nightmare, made worse by the fact that the person who did the stranding was his flighty twin brother…“
Brooklyn Rockstar (Kendall Family Book 1) by Jennifer Ann <— ROCK STAR & THE NORMAL GIRL ALERT!! “Small-town girl Evelyn Kendall has just arrived in Brooklyn Heights. With a new job and her best friend as a roommate, she’s ready for an epic adventure free from her family’s constant supervision. She’s not prepared for the muscle-bound, tattooed star who appears out of nowhere and rocks her world…”
- Polarity in Motion by Brenda Vicars <— SUPER-BARGAIN & BULLIED and it sounds SO good!! The blurb right to the very end GOT me. Okay so… she’s in high school, and suddenly everyone is ostracizing and bullying her for a nude photo of her (but… it’s NOT her!!!)… “The kids at school mock her, assuming she took it herself. And Ethan, the boy she was really starting to like, backpedals and joins the taunting chorus. Surrounded by disbelief and derision on all sides, Polarity desperately seeks the truth among her friends. Only then does she learn that everyone has dark secrets, and no one’s life is anywhere near normal.“
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming: 😉
It’s ready!!! A BIG release day, ’cause that forbidden-romance thrill to the left is finally live. Oooooh boy I can’t wait to hear what y’all think. Tee hee!!! Makes me *blush* just thinking of it. BUT!
If taboo romance is not up your alley, we have a BUNCH of fabulous sounding love stories below.
Like… The Confessions (for Tiffany Reisz fans!! That’s more forbidden-delight ’cause you know… he’s a priest). Eeeeeep! ALTHOUGH!!! If you haven’t read the series yet, start from the start. MUST! Plus… It’s All Relative by S.C. Stephens (of course!!! I’ve been giggling for days waiting for this one to go live – years ago I read it when it was free on another site, and never forgot a single thing. And the title is so clever!! In more ways than one – you’ll see). And Love in B Minor (she has a one night stand with a rock star, and then auditions to be in his video). The Sins That Bind Us (single mom with a bad past!!) and Graceful Ashes (dancer that gets a grant to go to her dream school, and then meets a guy, falls in love, and downward spirals into drugs etc…) Oh and!! The Turning Point (this is actually in the recommendations section, but how Jan recommends it has me wanting to read it badly)!
And then there’s next week’s pre-orders with at least three huge one-clickies for me!
Also don’t forget to check out:
- Yesterday’s ➜ A few early bird book releases (GREAT authors in this list – the early birds were extra-exciting!)

- I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain by Courtney Robertson <— NOT Fiction but definitely an unconventional love story 😉 (well… sorta *snort* considering she’s a real life star of a reality show) and this is her book, and it’s bargain priced (thank you Stephanie!!) “...former Bachelor “villain” and season 16 winner Courtney Robertson shares her story of love and heartbreak, and the reality of appearing on reality TV…“

- The Turning Point by Freya North <— UNFORGETTABLE ALERT! Jan recommends this one! “A more recent read that has stuck with me is The Turning Point by Freya North (2015). Wonderful read, about a woman from England who by chance meets a man from BC (Canada) and they find ways to be together in spite of the challenges. Slowly builds and packs a POWERFUL EMOTIONAL PUNCH. After I finished it (a couple of months ago) It kept me awake that night, and I kept thinking about it for days. Randomly found myself thinking about it again last night. A book I won’t easily forget.”

Drop Dead Sexy by Katie Ashley went live yesterday. Not sure if I missed it on your list. I’ve been waiting on this one…coroner and a GBI agent. Especially with an excerpt: “He was the goldilocks of ….” Yeah, I’ll stop right there. *smirks*
YAY!!! Thank you DG I added it. 😀
I one-clicked The Confession first thing this morning. I can’t wait to read it to find our Soren’s thoughts.
The Confessions first, it’s short and come on… Soren and Nora, I HAVE to!!! and then It’s All Relative!!! Oh yes, taboo and Amy and Maryse told me I had to!
“SOUNDS GOOD BUT IT’S SHORT SO I’M ANNOYED…” <—— *snorrrrt* I swear Maryse, your 'alerts' crack me up. 😉
I don't remember seeing The Turning Point before, but Jan's rec has me really curious about it now. I seriously would have missed out on SO many great reads if I hadn't found this place!
Starting Cruel and Beautiful today, despite all of the crazy clicking I just did from that list up there. Or maybe A Thousand Boy Kisses. Or Eversea? Wait, that's a 2013 read for me so I have to wait. Or Life of the Party 'cause that sounds kind of dark. Sh!t. And here I thought I had my next read picked out! *sigh* Quick, someone tell me I'm supposed to be packing and not reading. 😛
YES Grey…you have to read it!!! Have to, have to, HAVE TO.
*slides tray of chocolates, wine and Manny over to Grey*
You’re gonna need that reading care package. 😉
And am I the only one who thinks the guy on the front of Hawke looks like he’s saying, “What the %$&# are you looking at?” *snicker*
So many I want to read from that list… one-clicked Wild by Emma Hart and It’s all Relative by S C Stephens.
However I am stuck with Kulti. Didn’t get to read it last year with the rest of you, but picked it up yesterday. I’m at 9% and I’m kind of bored. Nothing is happening…. Please tell me that it will soon get better. Just found out that it has 570 pages and that is a loooong way to go:-) Consider picking another book, but normally I finish a book when I have started it. Guess I’m not into slow burn books 🙂
Oh Pia…. if you want HOT HOT HOT BURN I’d say “It’s All Relative” could do the trick.
Just sayin’
Right Amy? 😛
Oh and Amy… LOL!!!
I’m ANNOYED. I can’t help it. I wanted to highlight it, but I was so upset about the length… so I said it, like I felt it.
Tee heeeeee!!!!! 😀
*eyes Manny* *snatches it from Grey* You can have it later. This stupid book made me cry and I hate the author currently for making me cry. *huddles into her blankie fort*
*throws peanut from the fort* Amy, NOLA!
I so need to down all of the Tiffany Reisz series… I only read #1 and liked it, but I didn’t continue, and I hear it just gets better and better.
*sigh*
Tessa. WHICH?????!!!!
Hmmmm…It’s All Relative? *taps finger on lips* Let me think about that one…RIGHT!!!!! 😀 Pia, IAR will BURN your panties right off of you! It starts out with an uber-hot bang (pun intended *giggle*) and then the angst will hit ya like a freight train. Gah! I wish I was reading it for the first time with y’all…
Maryse, sayin’ it like we feel it is what makes things so fun around here! 😀
*ducks from Tessa’s NOLA peanut* Aw Tessa, whatcha reading that has you crying and needing Manny??? You know you have to tell us now! *grabs Maryse’s forearm in anticipation*
Me too Maryse. I read The Siren and stopped after that one. There was a scene I had a problem with and I didn’t venture into the subsequent books. But there is so much love for that entire series, I feel like I gave up too soon.
Fabi… is it the “boy toy” he got for her?
Oh, and on a side note…I’m watching 28 Weeks Later while I’m packing and HOT DAMN does Jeremy Renner look good in ACUs!
Hey, he’s middle aged too so I don’t have to feel like a cougar while ogling him. 😛
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. It had this MAJOR sad part. Though, none of you will know about it for another year, because yep, MAJOR CH! Thankfully, those don’t bother me. That super sad, had me crying, evil part bothered me. *sniffles into Manny* Stupid book!
I’m gonna skip around on my prior TBR and read something happy. Murder mysteries are not happy.
I’ll have Manny ready for Grey later. I still need it.
Okay, Maryse and Amy, you do sell It’s All Relative pretty good 🙂
I’ll give Kulti a few more hours and if it doesn’t get better I start IAR.
It’s ok, Tessa, I’m gonna go to Confession first *giggle, snort* then, I’ll be ready for Manny…
Maryse, for me it was what led up to the hospital scene.
“…because yep, MAJOR CH!” <——– Well, crap. That one is out for me. 😕
Pia, Mariana Zapata is the QUEEN of the slow burn. But it’ll get there.
You can read it when the third book is out? That’s why I worn you. Can you imagine if I didn’t tell you these things? Now go read NOLA. That had ugly cry times too. Literally tears on the tablet type. Though, again, not for why one would think. I think I cried in the second book there?
That’s one of the many reasons why I love it here with you guys…y’all DO tell me those things!
And because I’ve done so well with sticking to my reading resolution since Jan. 1, I’m going to treat myself…A Thousand Boy Kisses, Cruel and Beautiful, and then NOLA. M’kay? ‘Cause NOLA definitely sounds out of the norm, and I trust ya. 😉
Freebie:
The Year We Fell Down: A Hockey Romance (The Ivy Years Book 1) Kindle Edition by Sarina Bowen
Original Sinners is high on my list of all time faves. So well written. Controversial, yes, but it gets sooooooo good. Each one was better than the last. You end up loving who you hated. Nora gets stronger and stronger. Just an amazing ride.
I’m reading Feverborn because my e-book library loan came in!
Out of the norm? 🙂 A rockstar and a somewhat hippy girl who loves rock sound normal. 😛 With a hint of STUFFS
Ohhhhhh, my mistake…I thought there was a paranormal angle to it for some reason. Freaking blurbs are all running together in my mind. *shakes head*
That’s okay, I’ll still read it…for the STUFFS. ‘Cause we looooooove the STUFFS. 😛
I think I’m going to need one of those lucky numbers for my next read. I have no idea what to read next. I want to read my entire tbr next, but since that isn’t possible, someone please throw me a number between 1 and 1253.
I’m listening to a sci-fi, finishing a YA PNR on my Kindle and the last 3 I read were a CR, an mm, and a technothriller. :-/ I’m so confused. *shakes dice* come ooon lucky number…
Some of the STUFFS is paranormal hint, but just slight. Honestly, it’s what enhanced the one part to have me in tears.
Fabi, 55
Oh, almost forgot. *hands over a snuffle free Manny* Thanks. He was much needed. 🙂
Finishing Love, Chloe and then starting It’s All Relative. Marsye the title is clever, huh, hmmm wonder if it has to do with “relative”?!
“The angst will hit ya like a freight train” –> scared, so, so scared
*squeeeeee* Tessa! I’m going to get to finish one of my old, and well-loved series thanks to your lucky number 55.
The Warrior (Dante Walker #3)
by Victoria Scott
*wiggle, wiggle* I’m so excited to start on it now. I should finish The Institute tonight, and then…I’ll get to read the end of a series. <– That doesn't happen often. lol
😀 Yeah! I’m glad it helped.
Marsye, Sweet Girl by K. C Lynn just went up on preorder for 3/24 release- yeah
YAY Cheryl!!! Just wait, you’ll find out why it’s forbidden…and with the angst and HOT scenes, ohhhh lawdy is it GREAT!!
See? *points at Fabi* Said it before and I’ll say it again…having y’all pick numbers is the best way to figure out what to read next when we’re stuck. 😀
I get a kick out of STUFFS. 😛
Fabi 233!
Theresa I’m trying to find it on Amazon but its not pulling up… lemme check her Facebook page. 🙂 Thank yoU!!!
I’m putting The Turning Point on my list. It sounds good but Jan also loves these Old Shades. Leonie & Avon!
Marsye, I linked from FB but I just found on Amazon
Maryse, I struggled with the boy-toy. If that had been a man with a girl, we’d be outraged. And he comes back quite a bit in future books. And Fabi, the scene before the hospital is explained in later books and isn’t quite what it seemed. The fourth book was my favorite and there is scene towards the end where you feel for certain the love between Soren and Nora. Theirs is a very unconventional love that I couldn’t live with but you feel it. Very taboo story but it hooked me in and now I can’t get enough. The Confession is going to be the closest we get to Soren’s thoughts since the author has said she’ll never do a story from his pov.
Just want to let you know that Amazon has Sinful Nights Box Set (no 1-3) by Lauren Blakely for only 99 cents. Super deal and awesome books 🙂
I’m finishing up RAW now, and then I think I’ll start “It’s All Relative.” It’s hard to say no to S.C. Stephens. Thoughtless series will go down as one of my all-time favorites! Maybe even #1! I’ve never had a book series gut me like that one. EVER!! Kellen Kyle goes down as the best written hero EVER (for me)!!! I remember reading the last sentence of the series like it was yesterday. I shut my kindle and said to myself out loud, “I cannot believe it’s over.” I literally laid there, in my bed, staring at the ceiling for almost an hour. Worst book hangover EVER!!!!! I didn’t pick up a another book for almost a week and that’s basically 1 year in my book world. I still get jealous when readers pick up that series for the first time!
On another note, RAW is awesome! Twitch is definitely “raw.” Lexi is the perfect combination of strong and weak. She’s very believable to me. I can relate to her thoughts. Nothing is worse than when a guy runs hot and cold. And Twitch goes to the extremes with either one. I’m excited for “Dirty” to release in May. 🙂
What a list!! How the hell do ya choose…..
I’m 14% into its all relative and I’m really struggling to continue I’m on the verge of giving up
FABI!!! Lilah Pace’s next book will be M/M. I just finished Ask for More (which was ridiculously short) and it had a preview of the first two chapters of her next book. I’m tempted to read it (and I don’t normally like M/M) just due to those two chapters. 🙂
That’s awesome Tessa. I’ll look forward to reading it when it comes out.
Oh nooooooo LOL!!! 😛
Cait… what is it that you aren’t enjoying? I think I read it back in 2011 when it was still free, and I know that I didn’t love it as much as Thoughtless (’cause the writing was a bit… “light” <--- is it that?) but the story and the crazy predicament and the romance and the steam and the angst made it unputtdownable. I wonder if re-reading it now (with so many more indie books under my belt) if I'd think the same thing? I just know that when I can't put down a book, and then months (and better yet years) later I can still remember everything and describe it to someone with glee, that I loved it, so I was so excited for it to finally be out again.
I’m not sure Maryse it’s definitely not on the same scale as thoughtless! It doesn’t have the angst that I was expecting… I find it very predictable and boring almost!! I’m now at 25% but I just keep putting it down and making myself try and finish it! I think like yourself I’ve read that many books at this stage it’s hard to always better the last I will finish this book and il let you know!
Uh-oh…our first reaction to IAR and it’s not favorable. 😕
I just remember that even though I didn’t love it the way I loved Thoughtless (as if I *could* love anything the way I loved Thoughtless – aside from Arsen, that is ;)), I DID get all twisted up from the angst…the forbidden aspect, the wanting to be together and yet knowing they couldn’t, the sexual tension because they couldn’t/shouldn’t give in, the way they tried to move on, the roommate…GAH!! It had me so freaking twisted up and dying to see how things were going to turn out.
To be fair though, I get the whole feeling a little…I dunno…jaded, I guess? For example, I’m reading A Thousand Boy Kisses which has been getting a lot of love and tears, and yet I’m feeling just “meh” about it. At 25% in I’m pretty sure I’ve figured what’s going on, and it’s not a new storyline (to me at least) so I’m almost to the point of skimming. I guess that’s what happens though when you devour books like we do though! 😉
I still swear by It’s All Relative, but I really like that y’all can feel free to be honest here if you have a differing opinion. 😀
Holy moly, that was a long, rambling post…
Amy it’s fun to ramble. We let it out and we feel better. 🙂
And it’s even funnier when we all ramble together at night after our virtual martini-fests. 😛
And I too hope that Cait continues, that *ooomph* does come along as the story progresses. The initial sex scene didn’t oomph me (so don’t count on that one so much)… but it got crazier and crazier and hotter and hotter. LOL!
Also I agree Cait and Amy.. we’ve read so many now, that we are pickier, for sure! Like I said, this one was back in 2011 when I first discovered indie and all that delicious indie-shock-value (couldn’t believe some of the intensity that authors were writing… and how there were “going there”… stuff I had never read before) Tee hee!!!
And those that don’t grab me, I either put down, or end up skimming the “same ol’ same ol'” parts (I’m reading ’em… just not feeling ’em so I move along…) until I get to something that grabs me.
I’m right there with you guys. 😀
That’s exactly right Maryse! With such a surplus of books and power reading them back to back, I’ve also become more critical and less patient with them.
Remembering the (not so) good old days: Spending hours at B&N, shelling out $300+, then reading ALL the books, like them or not, because – it was a lot of trouble, not to mention expensive, to go get new ones.
Really?!? That initial sex scene didn’t *oomph* you?? I was all “daaaaaaaang!!!!” when I read it…and then I was cracking up when she was thankful he wasn’t like her ex, a short man. Ahem.
Then again, I was pretty new to the NA genre and those steamy sex scenes. I had gone from PG-rated YA PNR (*sometimes* PG-13) to discovering the thrill of more detailed sexy times in Beautiful Disaster, Thoughtless, Love Unscripted, etc. Okay, I *had* read an R-rated PNR…the Providence series by Jamie McGuire. Actually, I’m pretty sure that’s HOW I found BD. Still, the sex scenes in IAR to this day make me fan myself when I think of ’em!!
*sigh* Those early indie books really DO hold a special place in our hearts, don’t they? 😉
And yes, Fabi and Maryse…”pickier” and “less patient” are perfect ways to describe how we are with books when we have so many under our belts.
Virtual martini-fests are AWESOME!!!!! I especiallyt love it when I’ve had a few strong drinks and then I come here and start drunk-chatting with others who are on here at the same time! 😀
…then I look back at my posts the next day and think, “crap, I really did say that.” LOL!!
Yes. Yes you *did* say those things, Amy. And then… I go and post ’em ’cause they are so hilarious and perfectly relevant to the topic of that day’s post. *snort*
Or maybe that day’s post was inspired by things said. 😛
Thank god I’m not the only one! I’m picky as hell! I totally skimmed the initial sex scene, (maybe I’m a dirty bitch
Pia, I can’t believe I finally found someone else who didn’t love Kulti. I read the whole book and obviously that type of “slow burn” was not my cuppa either. I swear I thought something wrong with me as it seems to be everyone’s fave.
About the whole Original Sinners Series…I do not like heavy BDSM but that series really is amazing. Super taboo & addicting. Like Stephanie says, you do really see the love between Soren & Nora in 4th book…made me cry. Nora is such an interesting character, one of my fave heroines. I’m not typically a book pusher, but this series is a must read.
Finally finished the Gabriel’s Inferno series…again not what I was expecting. Book 1- muahhhh, book 2 – picked up about 3/4 the way thru and book 3 – solid but really got annoyed with the h. I mean whine much…it was all about her. Geez! Anyway, glad I read it, know I am not missing anything.
On to bright reads….one clicked Drop Dead Sexy!!!! *happy dance*. Only had a chance to get through prologue…laughing my tail off!!! First time, latex allergy for HIM, large purple eggplant, and rotten luck! Just what I need… a light funny read. Yay me!
*hee-hee!* Cait..if anyone is a dirty b!tch, it’s me. I’m the one who was engrossed in that initial scene in IAR. 😛
OH!! That reminds me of a joke I read in…wow, I can’t even remember which book now. Anyways, it was along the lines of: When is a girl elf not an elf? When she is, um, “servicing” a guy elf…then she’s a goblin. Yep, I’m cacklin’ right now at that one!!
*reads Maryse’s comment about things said and inspired posts*
Oh good lord…I just made your point for you with that joke, didn’t I? *snort*
I swear, I love it here. 😀
Ah Amy I love it! I just realised only have of my post went up ! Typical me! A good sex scen/goblin will give ya the tummy turns like the wedding night scene in Sparrow even tho nothing happened I was still gasping at the pages! Gosh I just love when that happens! Regards fellow elf!
Gosh maryse I love your followers I’m cracking up here!! Also il never get this book finished at this rate…. Although this is better fun at the minute! Imagine us all sitting round a table with a few glasses of wine!!!
*face plants* I’m not sure if I should laugh with Amy or at Amy????
Thanks Amy! Now I’m searching through REALLY bad jokes!!!!
So of course I must share:
“What’s the difference between a G-spot and a golf ball?”
A guy will actually search for a golf ball.
“What did the banana say to the vibrator?”
Why are you shaking? She’s gonna eat me!
I’ve actually backtracked right to an old TBR list of mine and am reading “Eversea” by Natasha Boyd. 😀 Since my sister, AND NOW my mom both read it and LOVED the series and are both waiting for Jazz (that’s coming out next week)… well. WOW. I gotta read it! LOL!
LOL Cait!!! I KNOW IT!!!!!
These girls are awesome and Friday nights… well even mid-week (for example… today!!) we go a little crazy. It’s always impromptu but you will LOVE this crew like I do!!
I’m so glad you’ve joined us. Have you met our snuggly “Manny” the manatee yet? He’s always a bit snuffled on, as we snuggle and cry on him a lot.
A little of both, Ela… a little of both. She’ll be good with it, I’m sure. 😛
LOL to both jokes but that poor banana!!!!!! *snort*
Fellow elf…LOL Cait!!! Glad you joined us! I love this place and Maryse and all of the ladies who pop in here, to the point where something just feels “off” if I go a couple of days without checking in and chatting. Throw in the recommendation and new release lists, Maryse’s reviews, and all of the book love and this place is THE BEST.
Laugh with me, laugh at me… *shrugs shoulders* Either one is fine with me. 😀
I just snorted my water through my nose at those jokes, Ela! No, I really did blow the water through my nose. All over my iPad screen. And the attached keyboard. And my top. Good job, lady…good job. 😉
Okay, Eversea was one of the books I was considering before I started A Thousand Boy Kisses. I’m going to wait and see if it starts rocking your world, Maryse (’cause ATBK just isn’t rocking mine :?)…if it does, I’m squirreling.
Or I’ll start Cruel and Beautiful. *sigh* Dangit, here I go again…
It’s kind of like you licked your iPad, and definitely claimed it as yours. With your nose. 😐 😆
AHHHH CRUEL AND BEAUTIFUL! YES!!!! That’s the other one I wanted to start…
*sigh*
I am enjoying Eversea…
Ewwwwwww!! Claiming it with my nose??? That just sounds so gross, LOL!!!!
Wait, kinda like when Fabi said she was going to lick her Kindle as soon as she has Logan on it?
Or maybe she’ll just be claiming his abs and not her actual Kindle.
Either way, NO ONE will be taking her Kindle or my iPad after all that!! 😛
Just read the Eversea series after I saw you mention it on your blog. It had some good angst and a few far fetched moments but overall I really liked it. Really looking forward to Jazz’ story.
Ah thanks ladies I’m feeling the love all the way over here in little old Ireland!
I won’t be buying any second hand iPads any time soon tho! Although a little imaginary licking every now and then is harmless!
Disinfectant wipes. All clean!!! My favorite.
I enjoyed Eversea but never read the sequel even though Eversea did leave a kind of cliffy!
*snort* *bows down to Amy*
“What’s the best part about gardening?”
Getting down and dirty with your hoes.
Bahahahahaha!!!!! Good one Ela!!
Disinfectant wipes are one of the BEST inventions. They clean just about everything and can even get into tiny crevices. Bam. Clean. Done!
crevices…. yes. I like clean crevices! 😀
😯
YOU WENT THERE!!! LOL!!!!!
*cackles falls on fainting couch*
*snort*
Er… where, Amy? 😛
Oh man, you’re gonna make me say it…
You went there…the crevices!!!
With disinfectant wipes!!
Ummmm…unless your comment was *completely* innocent? 😕 You know what, either way you gave me the fodder so that’s where I’m takin’ it!!! 😛
The Rusty Ho…..just saying. This is where you find the Goldilocks of C#cks. *snickering to self*
It’s no wonder our minds go where they go with some of these books. Tee heeeeee!!!
😛
Alright I will admit this is definitely not the way I thought it would be…..I mean geez! Straight dirty talk from hello….no playing hard to get here.
And Maryse I agree! Positively scandalous! *holding belly rolling on floor laughing*
DG!!! What…where did that…*sputtering*
What the heck DG?!??!? LOL!!!!
Amy… deep breathes….
Drop Dead Sexy may be about a coroner/mortician and a GBI agent….but geez….it’s a lot of dirty. *chorus dirty deeds done dirt cheap running through my head*.
*snort*
Ouch! I think that breath came out wrong. 😛
OMG, you guys crack me up. Blah wednesday just improved by 1000. Loved the jokes and yes I should know not to drink while reading these comments- my laptop has water all over it now. Guess I need to clean the crevices now. 😉
I really liked Eversea and maybe liked it more than Cruel & Beautiful. Now looking forward to Jazz’s story.
Waves to Cait!! Hmmm, makes me re-think starting It’s All Relative…
Crevices, countertops, doors….yep! All need to be cleaned!
….with disinfectant wipes…..*giggling uncontrollably*
*giggles and pats Maryse on the back*
Yeah Cheryl, you better clean it up ’cause we don’t want dirty “crevices” around here. LOL!!! 😛
Doors or DRAWERS? *leans against DG and cackles*
Oh wow…the whole Torn series by Pamela Ann is bundled for .99 right now and goes up to 24.99 in a couple of days!
I haven’t read any of the books but I have two or three sitting unread in my library. For .99 though I’m grabbing the whole dang collection. 😀
Yeah. Nobody likes dirty crevices.
Doors AND Drawers Amy! And cracks and Crevices!!! *cackling and snorting along with Amy*. Geez…I might need to put myself in time out…..
*steals the martinis we’re obviously all indulging in*
Mmmmmmm chocolate!
yum, pomegranate martinis….
Actually, we’re having chocolate peach martinis…
https://cocktailculture.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/friday-feature-cocktail-the-chocolate-peach-bunny-martini/
Told y’all the other day that I would find a recipe for them!
*makes an extra glass for the martini snatcher* 😛
*snatches yummy deliciousness*
Thank you Amy!! This one is so perfect!
*grabs two martinis* Thanks Amy! DDS …smh. Not sure that I have EVER read anything like this…definitely need two. Just off the wall….lots of focus on unusual conditions and appendages. *covers eyes and peaks through fingers*
Ladies il have 3 peach martinis and Amy can keep the wipes for those dirty crevices my crevices are sparkling! Ok so I’m gonna give up the ghost with ” it’s all relative” I just can’t go on its boring me to death, I don’t need to read to the end to know what’s gonna happen! I think I expected it to be like thoughtless and it just didn’t live to it for me!
Cait, if you are looking for a interesting, light read….just saying Drop Dead Sexy is not boring. Never realized some of the “situations” that morticians experience. Started off laughing…now OMGing…
Thanks Dg! Oh that sounds intriguing il check it out in the morning Tks it’s worth a try
You guys are so funny! I missed the giggle fest. lol
Bev, are you reading MiF?
First line Thursday …it is Thursday, right?!?
“Call me kinky, but I’ve always wanted a man to tie me up.” Drop Dead Sexy by Katie Ashley
*looking down at floor*. I just couldn’t resist….
LOL DG!
“Callum came back to himself in the night with the sickening odor of butchered meat swirling in his nostrils.” Starry Knight (Knights of Avalon) by Nina Mason
“The sweet blood has changed things. You have changed because of her. We are intrigued by the humans who have gathered around your Courtyard, so we will give you some time to decide how much human the terra indigene will keep.” Marked In Flesh, Anne Bishop
Had to post more than one sentence…
Ela is that the first line of MiF? I’m starting it within the next couple of days and I’m really excited about it. I hope the narrator is a good one.
Yes Fabi…gonna be a smart ass, notice after the paragraph it says Marked in Flesh????? 😉
The sad part is I don’t remember the whole story of Vision in Silver, just bits and pieces!
“There was a nip in the air.” It’s All Relative by SC Stephens.
Dirty crevices… Is it? You naughty Wednesday night blog girls!
I read The Confessions…. Loved it. It was like coming home slipping into a bubble bath – except this was a priest and a dominatrix’s confession so not really a comfy robe… Kind of a bed of nails or switch to the back… But you know what I mean. And Tiffany Reisz didn’t disappoint with a little tidbit that I always watch for, le sigh!
Happy St Patrick’s Day all, I’m gonna promote my Irish heritage, may we all drink and be merry!
haha Ela. For some reason I thought you were posting a quote you liked from MiF instead of the first line. I was asking “is it the first line” not “is it MiF” 🙂
So now that makes sense! Yes it’s the first few lines…
But technically I’ll be more specific, it’s the first few lines of chapter 1 cause there’s some things to read before that…
🙂 ok, thanks. I was just curious.
I actually like my first line today!
First Line Thursday
‘Stupid Starbucks.’
The Consequence of Revenge by Rachel Van Dyken
*grins*
“A raspy voice wakes me up.” ~ Cruel and Beautiful by A.M. Hargrove
Your NOLA book is next, Tessa. 😉
And speaking of Starbucks…
https://news.starbucks.com/news/starbucks-cherry-blossom-frappuccino
I’m SO trying one of those today! *sigh* I love Japan…
I’m scared to think of all those calories and then what if I get hooked??? This drink is only available for 5 days?!
Just do a little extra cardio to make up for it…it’ll be worth it!
I’m not telling my trainer after I try that drink because my workout will get kicked up a notch, and I am NOT in the mood for that. 😛
Yeah Amy, that’s not gonna work for me unless you can channel your workout to me??? I’m still hopping around in a boot and who knows for how much longer???
So I go to Dublin today and my phone keeps bleeping… So this is what I know Amy/ elf/goblet is a very bad influence! Those bloody cherry drinks would have about 5000 calories in it and considering the dirty crevices around we can no longer lick the screen to imagine drinking it! Happy St.Patricks Day ladies!
Cait, definitely the elf/goblet!!! *points finger at Amy* Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone as well!
Finished Drop Dead Sexy. Innuendos…lots of innuendos. A good light read full of focus….and innuendos. Hot GBI agent, an unlucky mortician, a mystery, a little mountain hoodoo, throw in a lot of laughs and OMGs… A unique read for sure. Not what I expected but not a hardship to read and her writing style is easy to fall into.
Ladies… Anyone read Polarity in Motion yet???? Trying to narrow it down between a bully book or a mafia book…..so conflicted.
Question: the Eversea series….is it a 2 book and a novella series? Not a fan of waiting for the next one to come out….
DG The Eversea series is complete (2 books plus a novella). The next book coming out is a spinoff for another character. 😀
Same first line as Grey!
Finished Consequence of Revenge and seriously, LOVED IT! I was laughing hysterically through the whole thing. The full laugh where you set the tablet down and just laugh, wiping the tears from your eyes. 🙂
Amy, seriously, if you read NOLA, be honest. As I said, I’m not sure if it’s me or not.
DG what bully book? 🙂
Ela, that’s awful! See, all the more reason for you to get yourself one of those frappucinos. 😉
“…and considering the dirty crevices around we can no longer lick the screen…” <—- LOL Cait!!!!
DG…I picked up the Polarity book 'cause it sounds so good, but I'm not sure when I'll read it. Every Ugly Word about did me in with all the bullying so…yeah. That kind of bullying gets me really upset, and not necessarily the kind of upset that I like. 😕 I'm so thankful I never had to deal with that in HS, other than what I brought on myself because I did something silly like, oh, I dunno, heavily flirting with some girl's boyfriend. 😛
Tessa…I will for sure let you know about NOLA when I get to it. 😉
Tessa – Polarity in Motion. Bully book – YA- blurb sounds really interesting….just have a feeling it is going to be painful. *searches through closet for blankie and extra blankets for fort*.
Amy, I really liked Every Ugly Word. Yes, it did hurt…a little.
Lost time mixed with regrets kill me more….very rare for me to read second chance books. KA’s Walk Through Fire was so good but tore me to pieces….
DG…I think it’s great seeing all of our differences (and similarities, of course ;)) in book reading around here. I have no problem with the lost time and regrets stories, but you have a tough time with them…I’m pretty sure Fabi does as well. Fabi? Am I right? But where EUW hurt only a little for you, it TORE ME UP. High school bullying stories hurt my heart something awful. Like Therapy…it kicked the crap out of my poor heart at one point.
Also, there are quite a few around here who end up hating certain kinds of h’s whereas I end up liking them and even empathizing with them. Probably why I loved Hausfrau when so many reviewers seemed to not like it at all. Or Keira from Thoughtless…I never disliked her during that story. I didn’t always like what she did but I always liked HER, ya know?
You’re right Amy. I just love how we get to know each other’s reading preferences. I simply don’t have that with anyone else besides you guys here.
Ah it’s great that everyone is different! How boring would it be otherwise! A good bully book can be full of angst so that’s why I love them but it can hurt a little and especially if you have personal experience of it! Shit I hate bully’s in real life!!
Free book well in Ireland and uk anyway A stone in the sea by ALJacsin haven’t read it but hey it’s free!
Also my life may be complete I just saw that Kristen Ashley has wrote an erotic BDSM I think this will please most of us! Especially the fellow elfs!
What book is NOLA? I’ve been out of the loop and trying to catch up!
Fabi, same here. 😀 What I have here with y’all means SO very much to me.
Cait…bullies IRL *are* awful. I saw other kids bullied and it was horrible, so I can’t even imagine going through it firsthand. 🙁
Susan…it’s Over the Hills and Far Away from the NOLA’s Own series. Tessa has me all excited to read it!
Ah ladies I’m 50% into a thousand boy kisses and I’m loving it! It’s not going where I thought it would go and my heart is slowly breaking! I reckon il have a book hangover! Gosh I just love this!
Also it’s just great been able to chat with other women, even the dirty minded ones lol yous know who yous are, about books! My obsession is unreal and some people don’t get that!
It’s great to have you here, Cait! *squeezes Cait*
And this fellow elf has NO idea what you’re talking about. 😛
We definitely “get it” here Cait. We’re all a little crazy about books.
Thanks Amy! I will have to check those out also!
