in Latest Book Releases

<— This is the one I’m reading right now! :D MMA fighter book that was highly recommended to me by “early readers” and I’m enjoying it. It’s funny (he’s also a cop and their “initial” meeting had me snorting!!!), super-steamy, and light-hearted. I’m about 60% in and while I’m able to put it down (it doesn’t necessarily have that unputtdownable “urgency”), I am really liking it and excited to see where it takes me.

Plus, I highlighted a bunch below that look reeeeeeal good! Like: Down for the Count (another fighter book with lots of great reviews!!), The Year We Fell Down (unrequited love? It caught my attention a week or so ago and I’m thinking it’s perfect for me!), Sweet Destruction (he’s a very bad boy! Heartache is sure to abound), Desire & Deception (she’s on vacation, he’s in a Mexican cartel and she gets kidnapped), Tease (more unrequited love? One can only hope), The Perfect Affair (that title says it all…) and so many more. Yep, scrolling through the list, it would appear I’m being a book-glutton again, ’cause I highlighted a even more that are SO calling to me…

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

BARGAINS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

  • Quintessentially Q (Monsters in the Dark) by Pepper Winters <— SUPER DARK read recommended by Caroline: “Quintessentially Q by Pepper Winters second book in monsters in the dark series is on sale from Amazon . Love this series! Third book coming out early June. Highly recommend.”
  • The Dark-Hunters (The Collection Thus Far) (Dark-Hunter Novels) by Sherrilyn Kenyon <— Still on sale (so far)… YAY for putting this one back on sale! I know a ton of our fellow readers missed out on this deal. 23 books (and one of my FAVORITE paranormal romance series). Intense action, intense romance, and suuuuuper steamy!!
  • A Life Less Broken by Margaret McHeyzer <— Louise recommends this one! “I just finished A Life less broken and it was a 5 stars! Very emotional very deep and very original! I advise you ladies to read it
  • Freefall: Custom Culture #1 by Tess Oliver <— Jessica recommends this one. She says: “The other night I stumbled upon a new little series I have enjoyed by Tess Oliver – it starts with “Freefall,” about a mute girl and a yummy tattoo artist who looks after his nana (what a combo .) The other two books “Clutch” and “Dray” follow on and continue the story from different yummy boy perspectives – Clutch is a car enthusiast and Dray is an amateur fighter. I really enjoyed them!” and Marilyn agrees: “Yes me too, I just finished Dray”
  • All Lined Up: A Rusk University Novel by Cora Carmack <— Bargain priced, recent release and Jenn recommends it! “I just finished “All lined up” by Cora Carmack. Great book! I give it 4-5 stars!!”
  • Just Destiny by Theresa Rizzo <— I just noticed this sad-sounding one. “Jenny Harrison made some poor choices in the past, but marrying Gabe was the best thing she’d ever done. They had the perfect marriage, until a tragic accident leaves Gabe brain dead and her world in ruins…
  • Coming Home by Priscilla Glenn <— MUCH LOVED by our fellow readers (I need to read it!!).
  • Down for the Count (A Dare Me Novel) (Entangled Brazen) by Christine Bell <— Ooooooooh lookie-lookie at this FIGHTER book. I totally one-clicked this. “When Lacey Garrity finds her groom in flagrante delicto in the reception hall closet with her bridesmaid, she’s saved by her best friend’s older brother–childhood tormentor, crush, and boxing bad boy Galen Thomas.
  • The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years) by Sarina Bowen <— I remember this one’s blurb from a week or so ago, ’cause it gave me a bit of an excited *jolt*. And when Carla asked: “Maryse, have you read any good book with that “unriqueted love” feel lately? I’m craving it! But I can’t find a good one.” and Lori replied to her saying to check out this one saying: “Such a good book!” I got even more excited! “She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead. Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He’s way out of Corey’s league. Also, he’s taken. Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the “gimp ghetto” of McHerrin Hall. Over tequila, perilously balanced dining hall trays, and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands. They’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All Corey knows is that she’s falling. Hard.” <—- Yep. I wanna read this now.
  • And you can check out yesterday’s “early-list” to see some of the other Memorial Day ebook bargains that appear to still be on sale…

  • Against the Cage: Worth the Fight Series by Sidney Halston <— MMA FIGHTER BOOK!! Okay… NOW it’s live. ;)
  • Sweet Destruction by Paige Weaver <— Ooooh sounds like it might be for us! “He was a criminal. A thief. He brought hell and damnation with him wherever he went. He hurt and destroyed. He took and gave nothing in return. He was heartache and despair wrapped up in a perfect gorgeous package. Fast cars and fast women were his hobbies. His vices. • Climbing Out (Hawks Motorcycle Club) by Lila Rose <— BIKER BOOK!
  • Against the Wild (The Brodies of Alaska) by Kat Martin
  • All I Want Is You: A Coral Cove Novel by Toni Blake <— “Her rugged handyman neighbor fits the first two categories, but he’s all wrong for her. If only he didn’t have such captivating blue eyes. I read #1 awhile back and it good. Perhaps I should *squirrel* right into starting #2 and marathon reading straight through to this one? (Here’s the reading order)

  • Another New Life by  Sydney Aaliyah Michelle <— Jenny recommends this one! “Another fantastic book that I’ve read has gone live!”
  • Life After Taylah by Bella Jewel <— varying feedback in regards to editing & connection, but that blurb’s forbidden-aspect is calling to me…“Then I meet Nate. Champion Motocross Racer. Bad boy. Married. He will soon become my everything. There’s only one problem with that. He’s not mine to have. Our relationship isn’t right. Our love is forbidden.“ <— Ruh Roh.
  • Intercepting Love (A Second Chances Standalone) by L.P. Dover – She’s stuck between a famous NFL player and a Motocross champion. Poooor her. ;)

As lines blur and are eventually crossed, they begin to wonder if amazing sex is worth risking a lifetime of friendship. Twenty-six years… twenty-six letters.” <— Jenny recommends it! “I loved Chat!! It was H.O.T. HOT!! You won’t regret one-clicking this one My only regret is that it’s a standalone!!
  • Desire & Deception (Entangled Ignite) by Sahara Roberts <— Eeeep-worthy blurb on this one! • Tease: The Ivy Chronicles by Sophie Jordan <—- Ohhhh I think I could really like this one, ’cause it has that “unrequited love” angle. If only it might play out long, hurty and pining-like… ;) *fingers crossed* “A hotty from the wrong side of the tracks, he’s immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. Today’s releases are insane. The one you’re reading looks good, as well as a new Bella Jewel. However, I’ve been looking forward to today for two other books. City of Heavenly Fire and one not mentioned, Skin Games by Jim Butcher. I’m going to be in a paranormal haze for the next two days, once I figure out which book to read first. :-)

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 12:32 PM

Oooh thanks for that Tessa! I’ll add his in, too. :D

Amy May 27, 2014 at 12:45 PM

OMG, OMG, OMG!! We’re getting more Mateo!!!

What else to say but SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 1:03 PM

As well we NEED more Mateo!!!! :D And more Javier. He’s coming REAL soon, too. ;)

Amy May 27, 2014 at 1:03 PM

Oh, and Life After Taylah? *pout* Yeah, not what I was hoping for. But the bar has been set pretty high after LIE, right? ;)

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 1:05 PM

Yeahhhhhh? Bummer. Such an awesome blurb.

Amy May 27, 2014 at 1:10 PM

Deeper is no longer 99 cents it is 4.99

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 1:12 PM

Thanks Amy!! I took it out. :)

Amy May 27, 2014 at 1:15 PM

Javier…he is from the Artists trilogy, right? I have Sins & Needles (and I’m pretty sure the second one) but just haven’t read it. Alright, Sweet Destruction and then S&N! I am so in the mood for an angst smack-down!! :P Any input?

*shushing my book Dom* Oh crap, probably shouldn’t have done that…

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 1:53 PM

Oooooooooooooh NEVER shush a Dom… ;)

*shakes head*

They don’t like that. At. All.

Beverly A. May 27, 2014 at 2:28 PM

Just finished Life After Taylah and loved it. Couldn’t put it down. 5*s for me.

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 2:49 PM

Yah!!?? Cool!!!

Lisa May 27, 2014 at 4:01 PM

I am reading Life After Taylah and I am loving it. I cant seem to put it down either.

Amy May 27, 2014 at 4:13 PM

Um, a bit of unsolicited advice: No matter how cute a low-cut top is, don’t wear it while cooking with olive oil – there is nothing *cute* about an olive oil burn on the boob.

Just saying.

Maryse May 27, 2014 at 5:26 PM

LOL!!! Sorry, Amy. I shouldn’t laugh at that. :P

I ALWAYS have to change before cooking. Or eating. I spill it all, ALL over me. Ruined some very cute tops that way. *sigh*

But the burns… yah. That’s extra hot! ;)

Read “All Lined Up” (Rusk University) and enjoyed it quite a bit.
It is sweet and sometimes we all need a little sugar lovin. I would give it 4 stars

Sue Lee May 27, 2014 at 9:26 PM

Maryse, did you like Against the Cage? I already finished it. I loved that it was light and funny. Not exactly what I was expecting but I still loved it. I’ve been reading some heavy books lately. This is what I call a palette cleanser. LOL It gave my heart a chance to recover from of those other heart aching books. It was steamy, had dirty talk, a little MMA and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. Okay, so what do I read next? I don’t want heavy. At least not yet.

Cheryl May 28, 2014 at 5:44 PM

Against the Cage is different from what I was expecting. Like you said above it is funny and light-hearted. Like Amy, I’m now in the mood for an angst smack-down. Think I’m going to read the Avoiding Series next; somehow happened upon it on your site. Looks like it will fill this need and then some!! ;)

Maryse May 28, 2014 at 7:53 PM

Avoiding will kick you in the gut!!!! :P

I liked Against the Cage, too. Maybe about a 3.5 star for me. Good writing, nice characters, easy-going (nothing too crazy) but I could definitely use some *oomph* right now. :D

Cheryl May 28, 2014 at 9:06 PM

Eh, now I’m nervous.
It was either that series or Collide/Pulse. I jumped to the “what to read after Thoughtless recs” after a reader comment on The Wild One’s series reading order compared it to Thoughtless. LOVED Thoughtless and have read most of the other books on that list. :)

Amy May 28, 2014 at 10:14 PM

Woo-hoo!! Cheryl is a fellow book masochist!!! And I completely agree about the Avoiding series. Grab a bottle of red wine and go for it! We’re here for you when it works you over – and trust me, it will. ;)

Jean May 29, 2014 at 9:21 AM

Maryse, I started The Year We Fell Down last night because I was looking for something different. Well, I am loving it! Slow build up, great characters, and I don’t think I’ve ever read a book about a girl in a wheelchair. What a great book! Highly recommend it!

Maryse May 29, 2014 at 9:51 AM

Jean!!! I am starting that one tonight!! YAY! I’ve been slow-reading this week ’cause I’m in Book Bash mode right now, but that is the one I want to read so badly.

Leslie May 29, 2014 at 1:07 PM

Maryse, read a sweet love story by a newbie indie author Eva Simone Intrigued and Enchanted. It was a fresh breath of air compared to the cookie cutter bad boys that are every where, it just came out. Add it to you next new release, I think ppl will enjoy :)

Cheryl May 29, 2014 at 7:03 PM

I thought The Year We Fell Down was a sweet story too. Great book! I specifically read it because the heroine was in a wheelchair, because my daughter is special needs too and I wanted to read a positive story about the heroine having a “normal” life in college despite her “disability.” Heartwarming!! ;)
