BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!!! OMG LIVEEEEE!!!! Mariana Zapata’s “Luna and the Lie” is LIVE (and it’s on KU too!!!) Squeeeeeeeeeee!!!! YAY US!!! ➔➔➔➔➔➔➔➔
She’s happy in her life but she’s got some regrets (and secrets)…
“…when one of those secrets involves the man who signs her paycheck, she can’t find it in her to regret it. Despite the fact that he’s not the friendliest man in the world. Or the most patient.
Sometimes there are things you’re better off keeping to yourself…”
HAPPY TUESDAY NEW RELEASE DAY!!! It’s not the biggest list we’ve had but definitely has great looking options, and I’ll be adding more throughout the day. 😀
Blurb jolts? Absolutely! Like that one to the left – Rum & Coke (He’s an escort by night, and a school teacher by day, and she’s a single mom in Vegas trying to make ends meet), Carnival (oh that blurb!! Super clevery written, and together they’re toxic, and apart they are lost… sounds like it’s gonna be angsty!!), Taming Eastyn (recluse? He’s closed himself off, and then he sees her…), Ride the Storm (she’s in her 40s and feels lonely, and he’s an Ex-Navy Seal!!) and one from yesterday that definitely gave me a jolt!! A Me and You Thing (she’s got the perfect life, and family, and then she goes away on a 2-week volunteer trip… “She doesn’t expect the trip to change her life forever. But it does. It changes everything…“) Ohhhhhh!!!!!
And of course, so many of us are buddy reading Verity by Colleen Hoover (me included!!) and you’ll see the reactions from those that have finished it a little further below. I’m SO EXCITED!!!!!
While you’re here, don’t forget to check out yesterday’s earlybirds, a new review, and in case you missed it, Friday’s mega finds!!

Verity by Colleen Hoover <— WE ARE SO VERY CONFUSED & LOVING IT!!!!
Lisa: I read Verity over the weekend too and thought it was phenomenal. It’s been a while since reading a story left me feeling that anxious and unsettled. I didn’t see that end coming at all. I never even suspected something like that. It’s so hard to find something else to read when you’ve been wowed by a book, but I think it’ll have to be something with kittens and rainbows and unicorns farting glitter!!!
Shara: I just finished verity by colleen Hoover. I love her books and I loved this one. I could not put it down. So good! Go in blind.
Amy: So, I finished Verity and…damn. *shakes head* That was crazy. If you’re a CH fan, give it a shot. Just don’t expect it to be one of her romances! 😉
Michele G: I started Verity Friday morning and finished it on Saturday…it was a crazy good trip!! I stand by my statement that I think Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher are playing a prank on us…I keep waiting for her to say…JK it was really Tarryn who wrote the book…but seriously, it shows her wide range….it was twisty good!!
Something So: The Complete Series by Natasha Madison <— SERIES BUNDLE SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT! “Come and meet the Alpha, the Caveman, the Bad Boy and the Single Dad.”
- Dirty: The Complete Series by Ella Miles <— SERIES BUNDLE
- 1001 Dark Nights: Bundle Nineteen by Heather Graham, CD Reiss, Kristen Proby, Liliana Hart, Darcy Burke

Doretta: Another creepy child book…Innocent in Death by JD Robb
Tessa: Finished Innocent in Death. I swear, the thing I love most about those is Eve and Rourk together. *grins* Then all the secondary character’s lives. This one, though, I totally didn’t see who it was until about thirty pages before the big reveal. I love that.
O Come, All Ye Sinners <— OOOOOH FOBIDDENY ANTHOLOGY ALERT!! Look at the authors… you just KNOW what you’re getting into with this one. 😉 by Amo Jones, Anne Malcom, Giana Darling, Chantal Fernando, MariaLisa DeMora

Good morning! Hubs has another interview this morning. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. The one yesterday went great!
*yawns and stretches*
Good morning! The holiday madness is wearing me out.
*holds out coffee mug* Fill me up, please.
Nay, good luck to hubs. I hope he finds the perfect job. Glad to see you feeling well enough to post comments. 🙂
Ok, so I just started A Me and You Thing…that prologue has got me. If the rest of the book is like this. Dang. I’ll keep you posted.
Oh, and where are my manners… *Tosses good luck glitter* (that’s for Nay’s hubby…and for the rest of us trying to stay awake…and get stuff done today!)
Good luck to your husband, Nay!!!
and YES GREY!!! PLEASE let us know how it is. It sounds SO good!!
Leslie… I just had my Lavazza coffee and added one tiny scoop of Dunkin’ Donuts pumpkin spice into the brewing process. Just one scoop and it was so subtle but festive!!! 😀
P.S. Just the Dunkin Donuts coffee alone tastes like water (at least this flavor). Ick. But added to my usual scoops of GOOD coffee and I’m a happy morning person!
Mine is Starbucks instant and salted caramel mocha creamer.
And a little Purple Rain to start this day.
Good luck to your husband Nay. I hope he hears good news soon.
Good luck to your hubs Nay!!! So glad yesterday’s went well too!
I’m drinking my hot tea…cause I don’t like coffee…I know.. shocking!
I’m joining in with Grey and reading A Me and You Thing because it called out to me!! And the prologue yanked me right in…
I’m also intrigued by Carnival listed above…it’s going to have to go on my short list too.
In looking through Goodreads, I’m having a lot of fun seeing the reactions people are having while reading Verity! It’s almost as much fun as reading the book myself for the first time! Just had to share that somewhere that people could actually appreciate it…carry on.
Good luck to your hubs, Nay!
*fills Leslie’s mug with coffee*
Aw heck, I’ll have another mug myself… *fills own mug*
Michele…I’m reading AMAYT with you guys! Well, I started it but haven’t made it very far yet. But still! I’m reading it.
And I agree about Verity…seeing people’s reactions on here as they read it is going to be fun. 😉
I just finished Verity and I am supposed to be working.
I… I.. yeah I need more time to think about this one. I had to close my phone last night at a certain point as I was reading and move it away from me.
Thanks for the coffee! 🙂
I got some Christmas shopping done and got my cards printed. So I am making progress.
Looking forward to not being so busy and enjoy some reading time. But def not these crazy pysch thrillers and Marmy books you all are reading lately. 🙂
I am getting my best of 2018 list ready… but will hold off because I may read something else earth shattering this month.
*snickers at Erin’s reaction to Verity*
So, I just saw Bird Box releasing on Netflix in 10 days. I had no idea this was even being made into a movie. Now, I feel pressured to read the book ASAP so i don’t watch the movie first. I did already watch Dumplin, it was ok. I saw Michele (I think) post that the book was better, and I know there was a lot of love for it here. Books seem to always be better, don’t they?
I had an almond milk latte this morning with just a little cinnamon. And now for hot cocoa. Watching Alias on tv and trying to read both Robin’s Waiting for the Sun (a little challenging Bc my copy is paperback, but I love it) and The Lingering.
Yes, so read them when we rec them before the movies. 😉 lol.
Though some movies are good in their own right. I love Anne of Green Gables the books and adaptations separately. Also Pride and Prejudice and the miniseries version.
OMG Tasha! I HATE reading paperbacks! Shoot me your kindle email (or regular email if you don’t have kindle)! And thank you so much for reading! ♥
Good luck to your husband, Nay!
Amy, those socks on the other thread are so cute! 🙂 Though, real bells are the issue. lol Fine for me, but not anyone else. *snickers* *tries to look innocent*
Okay, Bev, to get over the hump, I’m watching The Voice. 🙂 I even got the next in The Dark Side series by Kristy Cunnings. I’ve been DYING for this book and nope. I know it’s me because the humor and steam are all there in spades.
Tasha, yes it was me with the Dumplin’ opinion. Also, even though I’m super excited about the Bird Box movie coming out… I definitely suggest you read the book first. That book was so much about using your own imagination as you read that I don’t know how a movie will do it justice…of course I will watch to find out. I also just finished The Passage (in audiobook) because I wanted to read it before the tv show starts in January….
Yay Amy! Glad you’re reading with us!
Best wishes to your hubs in his job hunt, Nay. Hope it works out well.
I’m going to try a sample of Maybe Lovers, and also Rock Rebel. Come on, who doesn’t like a hot rock star?
I’m intrigued by a Passage TV series. Could be good. I really liked the book. BUT it has to be done well. it could so easily turn into just another lame series like so many others. Fingers crossed it’s cast well and directed well.
Could I please have a coffee top up too? *holds out mug*
Heck no, Robin. I will not let you buy it for me. Just one clicked. 😛 Love you for offering! *hugs*
Bev, I saw you were thinking of adopting a dog too. DO IT!! What an awesome Christmas present for a lucky puppy AND you. 🙂 My brother just adopted his first dog (Bc he now lives on his own, we’ve had dogs) today. He’s a 1 year old shepard/akita mix. Looks like a pretty husky.
And Nay, good luck to your hubby! *fingers crossed*
I did start The Passage a couple years ago and was really into it, but it’s SO long. I have no patience. I’ll have to watch the show though.
I’m not buying it! I have a mobi file! 😀
Also, I have it set with Amazon that it’s free for anyone who has the paperback for that very reason. I love owning them, hate reading them!
Oh, lol. Too late.
The voice?
What? Hyun Bin has way better dimples than Blake Shelton.
Check out “Memories of the Alhambra” on Netflix
http://www.netflix.com/title/81004280?source=android
I don’t find Blake sexy… lol
MUSIC That’s why I watch the voice. Well, and the arguing. It’s done in good fun, so it’s entertaining, but mostly, the music.
I finally got into the other book. I watched a few episodes of The Voice first, and that helped. 🙂 Also, one of the singer’s singing made me cry.
Good morning! I’m bright eyed and bushy tailed today, so I’m serving the coffee. Hold out your mugs for some peppermint mocha. 😉
Maryse, where’s our pic of your pretty decorations? I’m embarrassed to tell you guys about my tree. Let’s just say it’s sports themed due to hub’s obsession with a certain football team. Pleh!
Bev, what’s happening with the possible new puppy?
Amy, I think you need to share some of those yummy sounding meatball recipes.
Tasha, I have no idea how you were able to stand reading the paper version of Waiting for the Sun! I would never put a crease in my precious. 😉 Seriously though, it kills my eyes (and my hands) to read PBs.
Dimples are my weakness!! Blake Shelton has beautiful dimples and gorgeous eyes and he can call me darlin’ any time! *swoon*
Nay, any luck with hubs interviews?
Ok, enough babbling from me.
I NEED COFFFFFEEEEEE!!! My one cup didn’t do it for me this morning. Thanks Leslie!!!
Leslie – I just HAVE to know who the team is now! Ha!
I need at least three cups of coffee in the morning. I’m an addict. Sigh. In my defense, my grandparents owned a coffee shop, so I was drinking it as a little girl. I still like it exactly like I did then: lots of cream & sugar. Except I use Splenda now. Ick. Whatever. I’m still making it sweet.
MichelleS, me toooooo! Cream and sugar (but for now, my sugar is erythritol). Good enough.
Wouldn’t it be funny if it wasnt sports but a ship? Like her husband is team Jacob and hasn’t been able to let it go after all these years? Her tree is all wolves and Taylor Lautner pics.
Bev, shame on you! It’s like you don’t even know me! 🙁
If there were anything twilight in my house it would be Team Edward all the way.
LOL! I said your husband’s ship.
So far nothing on the dog yet. I keep looking at her but need to go meet and walk her.
MichelleS, I too am major addict. I need 3 cups in morning to get going or I am a total grouch. I like lots of cream as well.
I’m in Massachusetts and around here sports are taken very seriously. *gag* Anyway, hubs is very very very serious Pat’s fan. Season ticket holder for 25 yrs.
Bev, I’d divorce hubs if he preferred Jacob over Edward. Twenty-two years of marriage be damned!!
Bev, did I ever tell you I have a shirt that says “what do you mean Edward isn’t real”
Bev – Awww! Puppy! (I don’t care how old a dog is I still call them a puppy!) I’m sure once you meet her and walk her you won’t be able to resist.
I wish my boyfriend’s kids weren’t allergic otherwise I would have gotten one years ago. BUT since I deliver mail I get to pet all of the dogs in the neighborhood. (Except the mean ones – fun fact: I was bitten in the face by a mean dog last week, he just jumped right up a bunch of times – there was a lot of screaming and a lot of blood. I’m okay, but I’m pretty sure there is going to be a scar or two through my eyebrow.)
Our Christmas tree does have Packer ornaments on it. We put our decorations out right after Thanksgiving. And I’ve already gotten a bunch of Christmas cards from the people out on my route sitting on my fireplace mantel.
Ashley, that is awful about the dog bite! 🙁
I swear dogs really dislike mail carriers.
Who else puts things away in new, better, more organized places and then can never find where it is the next time they need it? I’m having a terribly unlucky week.
FYI, Tattered by Devney Perry is freeee. 🙂
Team Jacob! What an awesome tree that would be. All woodsy with little wolves.
My dream “book tree” would have to have Faeries, of course. A dragon here and there. Some pixies. A werewolf or two.
What kind of dog is it Bev? Little? Medium? Big? Fluffy? White? Black? I’m obsessed with dogs.
Ahhh, Waiting for the Sun is getting super intense in the feels and I’m scared!! I feel like covering my eyes, taking a peek *deep breath* and then covering my eyes again. Lol
MichelleS the one I’m thinking of is medium. 6 years old short hair. I have to fill out an application and ask about her. It says she is a hound mix.
This is her shelter picture.
https://dl5zpyw5k3jeb.cloudfront.net/photos/pets/42422241/1/?bust=1533764314&width=1023
She looks so friendly and good natured, Bev! She looks almost like she has terrier in her.
She looks adorable! 🙂
My favorite tree old fashiony withi tons of shiny passed down, homemade ornaments, and lots of color.
Out of the 3 best of lists posted so far I’ve only read one book. I have so been off the grid.
Tasha, so many mixes I see look like they have pit in them. I love them, the majority I’ve known have been total love bugs. But I wonder what makes them so prolific? Lol.
I meant jack russel, but I think with pit it’s easy to tell with the jaw maybe? I dk, they have a very particular boxy face that you can usually see in a mix some too.
Luna and the Lie is finally live!!! Whhooohooo!!!
YAY!!! Thank you Niki!!! *hug*
Morning. Happy National Cocoa Day, ladies! I figure this is one we can staunchly get behind here on the blog! So I’m tossing Swiss Miss cocoa pods instead of glitter this morning, heads up! Lol!
bev, aww so cute! When will you know?
That would be awesome if we could have book trees… Like trees with minature book jackets of all of our faves on there…sigh, or pieces from the book…like yellow balloons, or a piece of blown glass, or a folded piece of paper *gasp* um…maybe not, I’d probably cry every time I looked at my tree…which leads me to…
FLT ~The road from Matagalpa to Jinotega in Nicaragua is known for being quite beautiful. ~ A Me and You Thing by Taylor Dean.
*grabs a cocoa pod* Thanks Grey! 😉
I want a pink, girly tree. Hubs has the football one, my son has one in his room…so I need a fun one with pink and sparkles! Maybe after Christmas when everything on clearance, I can buy myself one.
I have a room that was my home office (before I lost my job) and it’s basically a storage mess now. I want to clean it out and make a reading nook. I picture decorating it somehow with quotes and covers of my fave books. Also make it super girly with some gauzey pink curtains, maybe some string lights, glittery pillows, etc. If only I had money and motivation. *sigh* Maybe this can be a winter project.
DO IT Leslie. I did that at my place and it’s my slice of heaven. You’ll stand in the doorway marveling at your sweet abode. AND!! You can keep your pink Christmas tree up in there and decorate it with book-stuff. 😉
FLT:
“I learned early not to trust men or money.”
Survival of the Richest by Skye Warren (reading this one)
“On the northeast side of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, there was a house.”
What He Doesn’t Know by Kandi Steiner (listening to this one)
Flt: It was the “Goddamn it, Luna,” that had me prying an eyelid open.
Luna and the Lie by Mariana Zapata
FLT:
I was staring at the mess on the coffee table, one hand wrapped around the neck of a bottle of wine, the other clutching my cell phone.
Charming by Jane Washington
Technically I just finished it, but it was really fun and made me laugh. 🙂
Okay, Cocoa day. I’m out of creamer, so I’m still using the same base, (water and light cocoa) but I have a spoon! A peppermint spoon! It’s awesome. An actual spoon made of candy cane. Why is this awesome? Because it won’t take the whole spoon to make a peppermint flavor. 🙂 It’ll take a tiny amount. Experiment starting now!
Karina Halle will have new release this month. Lara Adrian has spinoff off of 100 series out in January.
Thank you Theresa!! Do you remember the title for Karina’s? I’ll stalk it. 😉
FLT
“Shades of fiery orange, glowing red and smooth yellow, paint the boundless sky as the sun settles.” ~ If I’d Known by Paige P. Horne
I finished A Me and You Thing, and it was pretty good. I didn’t grow attached to the characters so it was difficult to feel a whole lot of emotion, but it’s still a good read and others might be feeling a bit more emotionally than this hardened heart. 😉
Awwww bummer Amy. I think? It’s better when we get attached. It sounds so amazing.
So.
I’m going to make an assumption here.
I’m assuming everyone in the Holy Trinity series died because apparently there is nothing to write about them.
Just saying.
*smirks* 😉
lol Yes. That’s what happened. To get rid of all the bad guys, Russia sent over a Nuke and obliterated the US of Zombies.
Someone is feeling frisky, lol.
My FLT has a bad word. Eek.
I was the f***ing boss.
Ha ha. I’d forgotten it starts like that. It’s from The Cornerstone by Kate Canterbary. I’m gradually working my way through the Walsh series, kinda out of order LOL. Don’t ask me why I didn’t just start at the start, cos I don’t really know.
I’ve one-clicked Luna and the Lie. Thanks Niki.
Amy – LMAO… Holy TRINITY, as in THREE books. No. The Novella does not count. Don’t get me started. I’ve reread that damn series 2x so I won’t forget the characters & plot. Grrrrrr
FLT: “The snows had come early. Even for Terrasen, the first of the autumnal flurries had barreled in far ahead of their usual arrival. Aedion Ashryver wasn’t entirely sure it was a blessing.” ok. I cheated. Three lines. I’m on Chapter 100 people. I’m finishing this beast off tonight. -Kingdom of Ash, by Sarah J. Maas
Maybe we should “fan fiction” an ending? She has Gypsy babies with Xan, Gerik kills all the Zombies in one fiery flame. The end.
12/28 – Karina Halle – Nothing Personal
CHAPTER 100????? *gasp*
1/29 – Lara Adrian – Run To Us – spin off of 100 series. So not paranormal
