Good morning and happy new release day! A bunch of duets and trilogies are complete today, so if you’ve been waiting to jump in, now’s your chance. 😀 Like that one up there to the left. OH YESSSSS. I only hear amazing things about book #1 and now I can indulge myself ’cause #2 is LIVE!!! And not just that… so many books below excite me!!! I hear “forbidden” *waggles eyebrows* Eeeeeeeeeeep!!!) The Kiss Quotient (many in our book crew are super excited for this one, and I’m hearing there’s tons of great buzz about it – she’s got Aspergers and in her 30s and ready to try dating), ➔ If You Say So (actually a recent release that I missed, but how could I resist with that gorgeous cover. Tabathia: Loved, loved, loved this series. I read book 2 first after reading so many positive suggestions/reviews on different book groups and fell in love with Zeus which was such a great book. Then went back and read book 1, even though not on the same level as Zeus it was still a good book. Can’t wait for book 3 with Zeus’s daughter. Also, first time reading this author.

Happy tuesday!! I don’t know what I’m going to read next. None of the books I like on today’s list are KU and I’m TRYING to only pick those. That said the Ribbon duet intrigues me. Haven’t read a truly angsty book in a while.
I’ve been MIA – stalking but not commenting. Did I miss the buddy-read of The Idea of You? I’m beach reading it and loving it!

Of course it is, after a day I actually had time to read. Lol. And now I’m gearing up for bedtime.
I’m stress eating and shopping and need to stop.

I wish I could stress eat! I have ALL the sweets, but I can’t dig in…angel food cake, whip cream and strawberries, these hostess cake bites https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hostess-Bakery-Petites-White-Fudge-Vanilla-Cake-Delights-7-9-oz/305054152 (oh my yum!), dark chocolate and pretzel m&ms, and Milano cookies are some of the items I went a little nuts over at the grocery Sunday. I also picked up snickerdoodle and strawberry lemon macaroons (they’re gone though) And then my stomach took a turn for the worse yesterday and I can’t indulge. They mock me! 🙁

It made it onto Maryse’s top list of the year, even with *only* a 4.5 star rating, so I know it must have been amazing.

Cheryl, I just finished reading T L Swan’s Mr. Masters and it’s on KU. I couldn’t put it down. It has been a while since I have read some of her books and I had forgotten what a great writer she is and her books are steamy. I have loved every book I have read of her’s. All of her books are free on KU right now if you are looking for some great reads. The Stanton Series and Dr. Stanton Series are great too!!
I don’t know how I’m going to recover from the inevitable book hangover I’m headed toward.

I started in on it and just paused it….are the subtitles always that big? And either my brain is slow to catch up or they go pretty fast. Can i slow them down like with an audiobook?
I just watched a little.
I watch on the app on my phone so never noticed they wer to big, but on my phone you can change font , size, and color. It’s the little gear icon on the bottom right hand of screen if you pause it.
I don’t notice that the timing is off. I hate that though Viki usually has good subs.
They don’t let you slow it down as far as I can see because it wouldn’t match up with the speaking.
I wonder if it could be partly auditory? I had Spanish teacher comment that it is not that she is speaking faster in Spanish it is just how we are processing it until we get used to hearing it.
Ok, I downloaded the app so we’ll see if I can get it to not take up half the screen.
Read a couple of the Cocktail girls books. Fun, quick no-brainer books. Now to read something substantial. Debating on the ribbon duet. Wish it was KU.

Lol. I started last summer. It has been so fun!
Coincided with a huge reading slump.
Ugh! The transplant clinic called today and told me my allomap level is high (the test they do to determine if there’s a possibility that I’m rejecting). So I have to be at the the hospital at 6 a.m. tomorrow to get a right heart cath and a biopsy.
This is my 14th, so I’m not worried (much) about getting it done–I’m just worried about what they’re going to find. They’ll be able to tell as soon as they get in if things don’t look right, but I’ll have to wait until Friday for the actual results. I don’t feel like I’m in heart failure, but I’ve had this crud for a month, so who knows what’s going on? What I do know is I just want to cuss a blue streak right now!

Maryse–they do something called an Allomap test on me every time I go, and the one they did last week was really elevated. It’s just a blood sample that’s analyzed and they use it as an indicator of possible rejection.
Since I’ve been sick off an on for the past month (and I found out yesterday, it’s actually the beginning of an ear/throat infection), my immune system is working harder than normal and that can affect the results of the test, but it can also be dangerous for my heart, so it’s a constant balancing act. They did the tests today to tell for sure if I have any signs of rejection, and so far, from what they can see, it looks ok. So, YAY!!!

Well, it’s only 4pm here, so I haven’t had time yet. I won’t until at least 6:30. But, my daughter’s bless-ed ears have got swimmer’s ear or something. The tubes aren’t working and they’re major crap right now. Wouldn’t have even known Bc she never notices when they go bad if not for her audiology appt. Which, the tests said she can’t hear worth a crap right now so we have to wait a stinking week to get back to the ENT. Should be fun. :/
Maryse–that podcast was great! Nothing cringeworthy about it, and you never told us you could sing–that part was really cute, and I admire you for putting yourself out there! Every time she asked you a question, I found myself trying to guess how you were going to answer.
I was SO nervous, Nay. I was excited, and curious (I had NO idea what she’d ask) but I went with who I was and what I love, and it ended up being so fun!
Tasha–my oldest son had 3 sets of tubes and also went through the damaged hearing and the tubes not working when the drainage thickened up. When he was 13, he finally got his tonsils and adenoids taken out and he hasn’t had a single problem since. I feel for you and her having to go through it–hope the tubes start doing what they’re supposed to do soon!

I LOVE her. I went to a concert at Red Rocks with her. 🙂 She’s the sweetest, most fun, yet wonderfully…. “angelic” women you will ever meet.
Lord! Nay, I hope we don’t have to go through all that too…she did have her adenoids taken out with the tubes. And they were fine a couple months ago, not sure what happened. Of course, they haven’t been in that long either. The suction process to get it all out is the worst for her. They say it doesn’t hurt, but she goes nuts over it.
So Tasha… a new born, and a sweet daughter that… well. I totally get why she’d freak out.
Tasha–If I remember correctly, they gave my son some ear drops that were safe for tubes that helped to loosen up the drainage and reduce swelling. I know they were a Godsend! But you’re probably very familiar with all the remedies by now if she’s had her adenoids taken out. I just remember the whole thing was a nightmare.
And the poor thing hated wearing those fluorescent orange earplugs that he said made him look like a martian. I went to every drugstore around to try to find something less embarrassing for him to use (internet shopping wasn’t like it is today). Hopefully they have better ones now.

I have a southern accent that is more pronounced when I’ve had something to drink or after visiting with my parents. I do say ya’ll and a few other southernisms- my kids call it my hillbilly talk.

So I just read if you say so by a r Myles. I was really disappointed I did love about 90 percent of it but then ….. BOOM I didn’t get why it happened it didn’t fit. I’m very unhappy that I read it. I’ve never had a reaction to a book like this. As anyone else read it, what did they think?
Liz, I was told by the author that she intends on writing a sequel. 🙂 I don’t know what happens at the end, so I’m not going to look ’cause I fully intend on reading it… I’m SO in the mood, so I was happy when the author told me:

Liz, I just looked that one up today. I was going to give it a try, but actually read all the reviews first, which I rarely do, and thankfully I did! I feel like I dodged a bullet, they all said the same as you. I’m curious to know what actually happened that was so bad though, no one spoiled that.

Finished “The Boy and His Ribbon” and also “A Girl and Her Ren” last night and let me say….WOW……just…..there really are no words. Book hangover of your life. BEST OF 2018. It has been years since a book gave me all the feels that this one did and these words still feel inadequate to describe this book…..so Ill just say this…..This book sneaks its way into your soul, grabs a hold, rips it out, and doesnt let go. I can tell it is one of those books that stays with you literally FOREVER.
