Nay: OMG, ya’ll! I just finished The Great Alone, rated NSFL–not safe for Leslie
But, WOW, what a beautifully tragic, incredible book! I think I experienced every feeling from one end of the spectrum to the other, and each in such a strong way.
It took a bit to get moving, but that part wasn’t bad or anything, just not as eventful. However, once it took off, it never let up. I almost had to stop reading because of the way it rocked my emotions during a couple of chapters–and that’s saying something for me. But I’m SO glad I didn’t put it down.
I listened to the audiobook, and Julia Whelan did such a phenomenal job with all the different characters, male and female. And she put her whole heart into it. It was simply amazing! All of you who have it on your tbr need to move it up!

I’m starting What He Never Knew (Kandi Steiner). I loved books 1 & 2 but….I read them few months ago (I HATE reading series not in succession) and this is ebook and I wish it were audio. Fingers crossed I like it.
I also read Halo by Ella Frank! It started out really good with a hot singer/artist named Halo, sexual tension and the backstage of the music world.
unfortunately I only read until the 17th chapter because it become boring, predictable and fell into the same MM pattern I usually come across: older gay man & younger straight man – confused and doesn’t want to allow himself to believe he maybe be gay.

bev, they gave us a hard time about getting in and we have wristbands! They wanted to see our RSVP. We use a RSVP service that RSVPs us to ALL the parties. Hundreds of them. There’s no searching those. They should have had a guest list! But the hubs was determined and alas we were granted entry…to the pre-party. 🙄 the actual showcase was at Austin City Limits. Oy vey. This morning I’m getting on my laptop and I’m going to find me some dang K-pop! We have 2 more days. I shall prevail.

The showcase is tonight at the Moody Theater . It would be iKONS first US show.
That could be a problem! It’s at ACL and that’s a hard venue to get into. We have wristbands but they give us secondary priority to badges, which for showcases at ACL is the equivalent of SOL. But I’ve talked my way into bigger so we’ll see! It’s after midnight though, so babysips! 😀

SXSW is a large music festival in Austin Texas that happens every year.
For one night they have a showcase for korean artist. I’m assuming you haven’t missed my new love for it?
A korean group named iKON is performing and I suggested R go just for the experience. Kpop fans are intense, lol. They have light sticks and chants and fandom names.
iKon fandom is called iKONIC and there color is orange/red so that is what color there light stick is. Ot has to be interesting to experience.
This is iKon with one of their big hits and pretty much the only song I know Lol. But you can see their light sticks and hear some chants.
It was a HUGE hit, with children. So popular it got banned in some schools.

Maryse, I wanted to let you know about one of my new faves that went live today – – Rapture by N.N. Britt. I was lucky enough to read an ARC and I thought it was truly amazing! He’s a rock idol…need I say more? Actually, I should…she is a grieving mother…so it’s not all guitars and sunshine…it’s gritty, real and a little painful at times. It’s such a good story…and this is her debut!
I second Rapture! I’m at 50% and had to stop for SXSW but I’m loving it so far!

My FLT is same as last week’s. Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven. I’m at around 60% yet and know this will definitely be 1 of my best of 2019 reads. It would be awesome as a movie or mini series. Probably even audiobook if done with the right narrator/narrators. Each interview has a distinctly different voice, I love it.
I just had my teeth cleaned at the dentist with this water pressure like thing for the first time and my mouth is sore! But, so far I think I like it better than the pick. My gums bleed terrible and she really freaked me out with all the info on that.
Also, I’m super stressing about finding coordinating spring outfits for family pictures. There are too many little shops and options that I’m overwhelmed. This is why I only torture myself with it about every 5 years. And I’m picking J out his 1st little pair of baby mocs. They’re so stinkin adorable and it’s the last time I’ll ever get my baby’s 1st pair of shoes! *sniff*

Leslie, you should go asap! I skipped 2 years bc I didn’t have insurance and had to get a deep cleaning- there was a lot of buildup underneath my gums. It was awful. But, my Dad hadn’t gone since he was a child and always bragged about how good his teeth were and he’d never had a cavity. Then he went, probably 10 years ago now, and had sooo many issues. It may be worse the longer you wait. I’m sure they have some things or ideas to put you at ease? Like that laughing gas or medication you could maybe take before hand?
Eek. I need to go to the dentist for a clean too. I might ask about that water thing. I hate the pick. Ugh.

Just thought I’d stop and in and tell you all you need to read Naked Love by Jewel E Ann. I haven’t stopped laughing since I started the book and I’m not even halfway yet. This book is exquisitely hilarious and I don’t think I can stop even to make dinner!
