Latest Romance Book Releases – May 8th 2018

I just found this blog this morning! I didn’t know anyone still did these but I’m inlove! I’m in the middle of reading J.R Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood book 3, and this site is is perfect for when trying to find something to read after the series.

Amy – I said “ish”… it’s still up for debate. I very neatly trimmed one is ok. If guy has a lumberjack look, I picture him my way. Jason Momoa makes many appearances in my world.

We have a whole group over there and do buddy reads and have lots of different chats going at all times. These people here (holding my arms out wide) are the best tribe a girl could want!!!

I’ve read 17 books so far thanks to discovering I can download books straight from Amazon courtesy of my local library. Sure wish I’d figured it out earlier! I’ve read a few that have been on my TBR for too long.

Bev and R, I think one way around the patent for now would be a slight change in the spelling …. kocky or cockee for instance, at least until it’s resolved.

😀 Actually at the moment (thanks to Kneupper and the RWA) everyone who’s already published is safe until the issue is resolved. No clue on new books though. Did I mention I think I have a mad crush on Kneupper? But that’s neither here nor there.

Oooh Ilona Andrews has a pre-order up. 6/26 is the release of her new series from the Kate Daniels world. If anyone reads her blog, it’s the joke book from April Fools 3 years ago, and the response by everyone really wanting the book was so big, they went ahead and wrote it. 😀
Actual quote from their blog, “Then we got an email from a slightly confused librarian. One of the library visitors requested the book. The librarian realized that is was a joke and informed the patron that this was an April Fool’s spoof, to which the patron apparently replied, “If we request it enough, they will write it.”

I live in Tennessee, so I hear every Southern saying on a regular basis. You name it, my hubs says it. Not sure if these are exclusively Southern anymore, but off the top of my head, these are the ones he says the most:
Busier than a one-armed paper hanger
Full as a tick

I’m finer than frog hair
Slicker than goose $hit (or ‘owl’)
She cranks my tractor
Useless as tits on a boar hog

Additional thoughts:
The ‘cocky’ thing is rude, ridiculi, and just plain spiteful.
I love scruffy bears and some goatees (hubs has one). In most cases, I’d rather a guy have a scruffy or short beard than not (I love J.D. Morgan’s beard!)
I’m also sleeping like crap again.

That’s the only reason I haven’t read it. I like third person but not when I’m writing. I’m beta reading third person now and it’s messing with my head!

If keeping stuff off isn’t working have you thought about watching or reading something?
I do believe it can be disruptive but also know people that sleep better to the sound of voices or it’s an activity to shut other thoughts off.
And no not just trying to get you to watch kdramas, lol.
I’ve dozed off to them before. The talking can lull me because my brain isn’t straining to hear or understand if my eyes are closed. But if any other noise happens in the show I wake up. So, i can’t sleep with a tv or device on.
I used to when young. If someone turned the radio or tv off I’d wake, lol.

I have always had problems sleeping even when little. Have been to 3 sleep centers and been diagnosed with racing thoughts. Just can’t shut down my brain.
For the last 5 or so years I have used ambien and it has been the first time I feel like my body has really gotten rested. Haven’t had any side effects. Don’t be scared and just ask for a light dosage.
I loved BIRTHDAY GIRL. The books I’m having problems with are BALANCE and EXECUTION. Started Balance and was really into it but the more I read the more the H came off weird. But it was intriguing so I kept on and finished book 2 and almost done with book 2. Will be glad when I am done. Too much info about gymnastics. Too many details that go on forever st least for me. Same love scenes over and over seems like. All this my opinion. Read many reviews and there are many people who are crazy about these books. The last book is not out yet as far as I know.

I know the best thing for me to get sleep is to exhaust my body. But I’m not someone who wakes up and stay up. I can get up, use the restroom, and go right back to sleep. However, I’m like JulieO. Racing thoughts. If I haven’t exhausted myself, I have troubles sleeping. However, reading is my cure. I’ll read and keep reading until when I try to sleep, the book is what I think about. So it might give me odd dreams, but I can sleep.
Maryse, see if your library has Overdrive. It’s awesome. Right to your Kindle. 😀

Maryse, that is awful about the insomnia. I dont blame you about the reluctance to try Ambien. Its great it worked out for JulieO but the two people I know that used it had bad issues. My cousin walked streets in middle of the night and my friend had crazy violent hallucination. Why dont you talk to Kooloo? I bet she would have some good info on safe drug options. Maybe anti anxiety meds? Those make me sleepy. I am currently taking Effexor to help me sleep because I had so many hot flashes all night. Its helping to reduce hot flashes but I still dont sleep thru night either. 🙁

Lol!! Leslie, your devil child comment was hilarious! My first was awful too in the sleep dept., I was young though and could handle it better I think? Anyway she was great as a toddler and beyond. My son was an amazing baby, and then he walked and talked and is the biggest challenge ever! I keep telling people it can’t get much worse than this right? But then I started freaking out to my hubby the other night, what if it CAN?!! I think I can handle some rough years until they’re a little older and hopefully they’ll all be lifelong friends! That’s what I want for them anyway. I have 1 brother and we’re not friends, though he can be more tolerable now. And I always wished for more siblings that I could call to hang out with or help moving or babysitting or just to talk with, whatever. So, I figure with 3 there’s more options….right? Lol

I took an epsom salt bath for 20-40 minutes last night, used my serenity Doterra soap, didn’t look at my phone at all after that, and that seemed to help me fall asleep last night. Could’ve just gotten lucky too. Either way, it shall be my new ritual for the foreseeable future. I ended up getting up at 5:30, eating cereal, drank a little water and sat in bed looking at my phone till I got tired again around 6- fell back into a tense sleep for about an hour or a little more. At least it was something though! Turning my brain off is so much work, it doesn’t always happen either. I also read that montmorency tart cherry juice is supposed to increase sleep time for those with insomnia. I’ll look for it the next time I’m at the store.

And guess what!! Im getting a pedicure tonight! I wanted to try and take my mind off everything and set it up. It’s been 4-6 years since my last one. I’ve been so excited all week about it…and then yesterday when I left my doctor appt. I stepped off the high step, like I always do, and my ankle gave out. I rolled it and fell, luckily only scraping up my knee really bad. Now my ankle can’t be touched and it’ll make my experience more poo-ey and less blissful.
