in Latest Book Releases

UPDATE!!!! ———–> BRAND NEW ADD-ON to today’s list! Sins of Sevin by Penelope Ward is now LIVE TOO!!! OMG!!!!!! It’s also SOOOOOO FORBIDENNY!!!!

“Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin. Elle was the girl who’d been carefully chosen for me. After a long-distance courtship, I’d be moving into her family’s guesthouse so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding.Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage. I’d accepted those rules and my fate.

Until I met the one I wanted to sin with. That was when restraint became a problem…especially since THE ONE wasn’t Elle. It was her sister, Evangeline.”

AND ANOTHER just went live just a few minutes ago!!!! HOLY MOLY LIVE SUNDAY!!!! Love Burns (Caged Love Book 2) by Mandi Beck (and I know a few of you right here just loved #1 —-> Love Hurts (Caged Love Book 1).

Lauren: Saw Love Hurts on the list… is a MUST READ!!! I’d say, hands down my favorite book of the year so far. I’ve been making my “Favorite book list” to send for Maryse’s Saturday post & that was the first book I put on it. Anyone who hasn’t read Love Hurts…..please please read it!!!! It was one of THOSE books for me. I couldn’t fathom reading another book after I finished it. I stalked the author & found hundreds of other readers in the same boat I was in. Just couldn’t stop thinking about it. Oh, how I love Deacon….he does this thing where he flips Frankie’s wrist & kisses the inside, he’s done it since they were kids & it just melts my heart every time. It’s not an ugly cry book, just really, really awesome.

I’m finishing a book that I’ve pretty much cried through, from start to “almost-finished”. It’s been an awesome read, but my heart aches. BADLY! I’ll be reviewing it tonight. ;) I didn’t record myself, ’cause it would have just been a big red-nosed, puffy-faced, ugly cry fest and nobody wants to see that.  LOL! But! On a happier note, we have some fun Sunday surprise book releases. Four from favorite authors, and three that sound great, and are new-to-me!

  1. Love Burns (Caged Love Book 2) by Mandi Beck <— JUST WENT LIVE!!!!
  2. Fade to Red by Willow Aster <— OMG what the heck is going on?!! It’s like this Sunday is Christmas!!!! ANOTHER one of my favorite authors just released a new book today. It’s kind of a spin-off of her “True Love Story” that I LOVED like crazy!! OH THE ANGST!!! She’s a truly soulful writer!!!!! OH WOW!!!!
  3. Sins of Sevin by Penelope Ward <—- FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT!!!
  4. Blow by Kim Karr <— JUST RELEASED OHHHH FORBIDDEN LOVE THRILLER! But I can’t tell what kind of “forbiddeny” it is. ;)They weren’t looking for love. They both knew better. But they couldn’t stay away, and they fell hard.
  5. Fire in the Hole (Gynazule Book 2) by Debra Anastasia <— JUST RELEASED and it’s book #2 after Fire Down Below (Gynazule Book 1). Both are super-bargain priced, and had many snorting with dirty-delight!
  6. The Dark Ones by Rachel Van Dyken <— JUST RELEASED (Rachel Van Dyken wrote a vampire book!!!) and the heroine was chosen by the King of Immortals… (does that make her the queen?) “My life is no longer my own. And now I know the truth, my life was never mine to begin with. It was theirs. It’s always been theirs.”
  7. Because of His Heart (For His Pleasure, Book 27) by Kelly Favor <— JUST RELEASED! Hey I remember how popular this series was a few years ago… people were chomping at the bit for her next installment.
  8. My Bridge To Forever by Tavares Jones <— JUST RELEASED and this one sounds so beautiful!! “…one of the most sentimental stories ever told – one about a gentleman who sacrifices the American dream to be near his rib during the lowest bottom of her life.
  9. Switch (Spark Series #5) by Jennifer Ryder <— JUST RELEASED (heart-broken girl, and bad-boy motocross mechanic that thinks she’s a lesbian!) “Rocco doesn’t mind offering his spare room to the hot lesbian he refers to as ‘Suds’. She won’t be clingy, far from it, and he’s keen on the idea of getting to see a bit of girl on girl action….
  10. Broken Love: (The illusion series #1) by <— This one’s blurb intrigues me, but to be honest, I have NO clue what it’s about. I’m thinking a dark, emotional love story? I really can’t tell… “Roman taught me that the devil does not come at night from the pits of hell with red horns and a spiral tale. He came as everything I could have wished for from the chambers of his own torture. Whilst my demons forced me towards him, Romans pushed him to rebel against me…
  11. Wild Reckless by Ginger Scott <— BULLY BOOK ALERT!!! I’m bringing this one back ’cause it’s still on sale today and SO many here are loving it just like I did!!! YAY!!! That makes me sooooooo happy. Tessa: “I finished Wild Reckless. *big grin* Definitely a 4.5 star read. It has a jerk, a sassy heroine, the jerk actually causing her big issues, tons of great side characters and me grinning big like this.  :D I only wish the “hate” period to “Love” period had taken a little longer to really get there. However, it is just a preference…” and  JenC: “ …especially Wild Reckless. Devoured it and oh my god, best book I’ve read in a little while. Couldn’t agree more with you Tessa – if only they’d been “at war” a little longer but even so. Such a good read!” and Andee! “Wild Reckless!!! Oh my, Owen, so good! The secondary characters were great throughout this book, too. Thanks for the reminder and recommendation, Maryse!” (my review – I gave it 4.5 stars!!)
  12. The Air He Breathes by Brittainy Cherry <— UP FOR PRE-ORDER and coming out in just a few days!! Remember how much we loved “Loving Mr. Daniels”?!! This will be her latest book… and it’s on pre-order right now!!
  13. I’m LEAVING THIS UP ’cause it’s still LIVE as we speak! I didn’t realize the urgent situation at hand. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE to get it as a bundle – Rook and Ronin: Complete Seven Book Series by J.A. Huss - THE ENTIRE SEVEN BOOK SERIES on sale for ONE WEEK ONLY! 1800 paperback pages in ONE eBook… and I know SO many here loved these books! The author says:

“LAST CHANCE to buy All SEVEN Rook & Ronin books! This book will be deleted from all stores on 9-20-2015 and will never be sold again. Don’t miss your chance to buy it on sale!”

No hint? Is it that Badger book…….or that one Amy wants that you had an early release of? You know she will have grabby hands after reading that snippet, lol.
You should totally go SEP(Susan Elizabeth Phillips) now. Some feels but also laughter.

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 10:44 AM

No bev, it’s the one umm….

It’s coming out on Tuesday, hold on let me look at the title. I know it’s Rachel Higginson…

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 10:47 AM

Ah!! Every Wrong Reason

It certainly has that “After I Do” feel…

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 10:50 AM

Excuse me while I squee for The Dark Ones. That was never up for pre-order, but I wanted it as soon as she announced it.

Oooh, an SEP book! First Lady, Ain’t She Sweet, It Had to Be You, Glitter Baby, so many good books that will make you laugh and still have angst.

Oh, and yes, I’m loving Archer’s Voice. He’s so sweet and she’s genuinely nice. I like that.

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 10:56 AM

Oh some sad news. Jackie Collins passed away due to breast cancer. *frowns* I read her books like they crazy when I was younger, especially the Lucky books. They were pure scandal and mafia joy for me.

bev September 20, 2015 at 11:41 AM

I heard that about Jackie Collins. Never read her books but do remember watching the made for tv movies. :-D
Remember network made for tv movies? Lol.
I caught an old movie with her sister, Joan, and she was beautiful. I always think of her in the 80s look beautiful but still….

bev September 20, 2015 at 11:47 AM

Yes, Maryse, that’s the one Amy wanted. Lol.

I’m a big fan of SEP’s Heaven, Texas. Bobby Tom & Gracie! Great side characters, quirky town. But Ain’t She Sweet is nice for those who like the bad girl coming back home books. She does tend to put her heroines through the ringer, though. Kind of known for that, lol.
Tessa, not so much a fan of her very early books. They are really different, to me, of the rest of her catalogue. Almost in that Collins or Steel mold. Just not my thing.

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 11:49 AM

Okay so which SEP book is the best in both of your opinions?

Theresa September 20, 2015 at 12:11 PM

OK…I one clicked Blow and Dark Ones!!! Both sound intriguing and are at a great price!!! I love Rachel Van Dyken’s writing…sarcastic and witty!! I keep debating the bundle from JA Huss…any recs for me regarding Rook and Ronin?

Theresa September 20, 2015 at 12:15 PM

Oh and I love Rachel Higginson…can’t wait to read the review for Every Wrong Reason…I have that on my list for purchase!

bev September 20, 2015 at 12:24 PM

Oh, Maryse! This is hard, very hard. Plus I suck at favorites, lol.
My first was Nobody’s Baby but Mine. It’s premise has the heroine deciding to do something horrible, lol. Yet I remember liking it so and it set me on my SEP glom.
But there are so many i like very few i didn’t enjoy. And of course the two I mentioned above. And Kiss an Angel. *sigh*

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 12:28 PM

DAMN THIS BOOK that won’t let me stop crying… will it ever stop? I swear I’ve been reading it for days ’cause I can’t see through my tears…

and crying makes me sleepy.

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 12:32 PM

OMG I swear 75% is about to kill me… i’m reading, sobbing and pacing….

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 12:35 PM

I loved Nobody’s Baby but Mine. I mentioned First Lady because that was such a sweet story. They are all sweet. I still have to read Heroes Are My Weakness.

bev September 20, 2015 at 12:45 PM

Tessa, the girls in that book were beyond adorable. Like i said very few I haven’t liked. Haven’t read that one yet either. I was a tad disappointed in Ted’s story. Honestly he needed to apologize a bit more for me, the town too.

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 12:46 PM

I seriously don’t know how I’m gonna finish this… I’m almost there but i keep needing breaks, and to re-connect with you guys so I can calm down. Its why I switched to “Fugly” for a bit…

figured maybe I was being hormonal? LOL!!!! And here I am… still trying to finish this one. It’s fabulous… and heartbreaking…

Okay so Nobody’s Baby sounds pretty good… thanks guys.

bev September 20, 2015 at 12:47 PM

Lol. Its given you a head ache and made you sleepy…. but it’s “awesome.” :-P

bev September 20, 2015 at 12:52 PM

Tessa, haven’t read Loving Mr. Daniels but did just grab that The Air he Breathes. Did you read the blurb? He sounds your type.;-)
Covers nice too.

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 1:12 PM

Ugh… 89%…

I’m a mess. I took a picture. I may include it in the review but it’s not pretty…

Eh… this story is not pretty either, so it’s fitting….

Jen September 20, 2015 at 1:14 PM

Can’t wait for The Air He Breathes. Franggy Yanez is the model on the cover. I have a mad crush on him!

Robyn September 20, 2015 at 1:24 PM

Yes! Jackpot! I needed new books to read. I was going through a reading slump yesterday where nothing sounded good to read…..I know GASP!! Now I’m off to read The Dark Ones. So excited!!!

Cheryl September 20, 2015 at 2:44 PM

MARYSE- that makes my heart hurt just thinking about reading Every Wrong Reason. Brings back memories of reading After I Do. I better stock up on Kleenex before tuesday!

Blow sounds good, but I’m going to wait until book 2 comes out in November before starting it. Sins of Sevin and The Air He Breathes sound good too! ;)

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 2:50 PM

You’re scaring me Maryse. 0.0

Bev, I’m not sure. He’s “broken” and those are a lot of times very whiney. lol Which is why it took me so long with Archer’s Voice. Too many broken books, though the cold and mean does sound like me. I just hate blurbs that tell me they are broken. *shudders*

MichelleS September 20, 2015 at 2:58 PM

Sins of Sevin??? May just be my next “forbidden” read. Yikes. That blurb!

Cheryl September 20, 2015 at 3:51 PM

Badger or Sins of Sevin? I can’t decide…

Cheryl September 20, 2015 at 5:23 PM

Ok, started Badger because well, it’s different and I just read a fairly lighthearted read- Dark Wild Night and frankly I’m curious what Amy & Jean are commenting about.

Amy fair warning- if this book kicks my a$$ and I’m crying *like Brightside* I’m showing up at your door!! ;)

Amy September 20, 2015 at 5:33 PM

You’re killing me here, Maryse…Badger didn’t make me ugly cry but I need an emotional “pressure release” book after it, and EWR sounds *perfect* for that! Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!!

*sigh* Fine…since I have to wait until Tuesday, for now I’m clicking Sins of Sevin, Blow and The Dark Ones, and I’m pre-ordering The Air He Breathes ’cause I LOVED Loving Mr. Daniels.

Amy September 20, 2015 at 5:36 PM

Promise Cheryl…no ugly crying with Badger like there was with Bright Side. But you can show up at my door anyways and I’ll feed ya and crack open the Jager! :D

Cheryl September 20, 2015 at 5:44 PM

Amy, deal!! Also, did you notice Blow is part 1? Don’t want you freaking out about a CH!! ;)

bev September 20, 2015 at 5:46 PM

Oooh, I thought we’d get a West coast/East coast grudge going. ;-)

Amy September 20, 2015 at 5:53 PM

Cheryl, NO! I didn’t see that…dangit!! *pouts* Man, I’m tired of this “book 1″ crap. :?

HA Bev! Be careful what you wish for! :P

Allison September 20, 2015 at 6:03 PM

I am 66% into Transcending Darkness by Airicka Phoenix and it is un-put-downable. I’m not ugly crying, yet, but there are moments where I feel like I can’t breathe. The H is so alpha, but tender, but aloof. I want him here in my life right now. And he has an Irish accent. Killian. Ugh I love him so much it hurts.

I also loved this author’s book The Voyeur Next Door. That one was very different. Loved it.

Cheryl September 20, 2015 at 6:06 PM

Bev, feel like there should be some cool rap music playing. :) Between you and me I think Amy is just trying to distract me with offers of food and Jager, because it’s on if Badger kicks my a$$.

bev September 20, 2015 at 6:17 PM

I wonder how the Damn book is treating Maryse?

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 6:22 PM

*sighs* I get it guys. I totally get it. I loved Archer’s Voice. Not a single complaint about it, just pure happy sighs. I think the part that really just melted me was “I Bree you,” *sighs again* I’m not even sorry it took so long to read it, because I got to experience it when I was in the mood and that just makes it better. Thank you all for making me read it!

Amy September 20, 2015 at 6:25 PM

*snickers and pours another shot of Jager for Cheryl*

Yeah…she did “damn” that book, so you KNOW it’s going to be rough if it has her full-on swearing without symbols. ;)

bev September 20, 2015 at 6:29 PM
Amy September 20, 2015 at 6:31 PM

YAY Tessa!! :D

Amy September 20, 2015 at 6:34 PM

Now I’m Jezebel?!? Y’all suck… :P

bev September 20, 2015 at 6:38 PM

Had to go with that one. I have never listened to a lot of rap so do not have a lot to choose from. And what i do and/or did like (yes like) has 1 or ten misogynistic lines in it, lol.
Do you all ever struggle with that in songs you may like?

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 6:45 PM

We are hitting some TRUE GEMS THESE DAYS!!!!!! HOLY MOLY! I can’t stop seeing these adamant recommendations for these books lately and I’m so freaking excited!!!

And puffy-faced from my weekend cry-fest… but I’ll get over that. ;)

bev September 20, 2015 at 7:39 PM

Maryse, if you haven’t seen it thought you may like this.
Have to say have never seen this show. Been awhile since I really watched HGTV. I used to really enjoy Sarah Richardson. I liked how she’d incorporate color & pattern.

Amy September 20, 2015 at 7:40 PM

*tucks stuffed manatee into Maryse’s arms*

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 7:58 PM

Crap! *folds arms and pouts* Book fog.

Mel September 20, 2015 at 8:10 PM

What’s even better is that some of these new releases are priced low or free with kindle unlimited!

Cheryl September 20, 2015 at 8:11 PM

Hey I didn’t bring Jezebel into this! ;)

Bev, I can’t get that link to play. :( I’ve watched that show- they’re great. I loved Sarah too and Candice Olsen.

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 8:13 PM

Alright you guys… I’ve let it all out… pictures and all. GASP!!!

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 8:14 PM

*snuggles and snuffles Manny the manatee*

*snuffles Amy’s sleeve, too*

bev September 20, 2015 at 8:18 PM

Tessa September 20, 2015 at 9:05 PM

Well, that’s what laundry and friendship are for. Sniffly sleeves.

Amy September 20, 2015 at 9:34 PM

Yep…like we’ve said here before, what’s a little snuffle between friends? ;)

Now I’m just gonna…*gives Maryse one more snuggle*…and leave Maryse in Manny’s capable flippers…and…come ‘ere Bev! *runs after Bev with snuffled-on sleeve* :P

Maryse September 20, 2015 at 9:53 PM

*snort* GET HER!!!! :P

Amy September 20, 2015 at 10:11 PM

LOL!!! Snuffle puppy pile on Bev!!!!

Cheryl September 21, 2015 at 5:52 AM

Amy, good job, you got Maryse to laugh and got Bev with snuffle!! :)

Cheryl September 21, 2015 at 6:59 AM

At about 30% in Badger. Oh my poor f*@#ked up, angry Badger and Adrian’s not much better!!

Julie September 21, 2015 at 12:36 PM

I read Wild Reckless this weekend and liked it! Love the UST of a slow burn!

Amy September 21, 2015 at 1:25 PM

I know, Cheryl…they’re both a mess but in different ways and for different reasons. You know what I really appreciated was the self-awareness of Adrian and Badger, with both of them knowing why they were *where* they were in their lives. It didn’t really make things any easier but at least they weren’t making excuses, ya know?

Cheryl September 21, 2015 at 4:06 PM

Yep, Amy. They, especially Badger, make no excuses for the way they are and I think b/c of Badger, Adrian is becoming more accepting of how she is not “normal.” They do compliment each other. I get the anti-romance aspect now too.

Michelle September 21, 2015 at 8:22 PM

Anyone read The Dark Ones yet? Sounds good but I’m undecided if I need it right now. There are so many books I want from the last 2 wks but I’m trying to save some money for one of those new kindles :D

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 9:48 PM

I bought it, but haven’t read it yet. The Archer’s Voice fog is pretty strong. I decided on a library book for now, since it’s due soon. Archangel’s Shadow by Nalini Singh.

fabi September 21, 2015 at 9:51 PM

You know what’s funny? I’ve never had a Kindle (or a Nook). I had an eReader I paid a fortune for at Radio Shack many years ago. But I never even used it. I went straight from books to my phone and iPad and even read on my laptop/PC sometimes. I’ve looked at the Kindles many times…but…I’m addicted to my phone. Seriously…I think I need an intervention.

fabi September 21, 2015 at 9:54 PM

Ooohhh Tessa, that one sounds good. I’m also on one of those types of books. I tried to go into another CR but just wasn’t in the mood. I pulled Broken Symmetry out of my tbr and so far I love it, even though I’ve only read a chapter. I kept thinking of you and that this may be your type of book since you don’t mind YA and read lots of PNR.

Cheryl September 21, 2015 at 9:54 PM

53%…My heart is breaking for Badger…HORRIFIC…

I’m not sure I’ll be in the frame of mind to read EWR tomorrow after this dark read.

fabi September 21, 2015 at 9:57 PM

Daaaang, Cheryl…ouch, oh, shoot. Did y’all know I wince from YOU GUYS reading those books, even when I’m not brave enough to do it myself?

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 10:06 PM

Oooh I apparently had Broken Symmetry. I’ll move it up in my TBR. Which one sounds good? Dark Ones or Archangel’s Shadows? I like AS so far, though none of the other couples compare to Elena and Raphael. They are one of my favorites.

Cheryl, *hugs* Here, I think Maryse might be done with Manny. *hands over Manny* Ignore the snufflies.

fabi September 21, 2015 at 10:11 PM

You girls and your snuffles. When my kids were little, I’d change 10 dirty diapers before swiping one dirty nose. *shudders*

fabi September 21, 2015 at 10:12 PM

Oh, sorry, AS sounds good.

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 10:31 PM

:D It is! You should try it. I like this better than the Psy/Changeling books, which are pretty good too..

fabi September 21, 2015 at 10:33 PM

m’kay, we’ll have to swap, I’ll take AS when you’re done and you take BS when I’m done. (omg, that sounds nasty somehow)

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 11:08 PM

Have you read Angel’s Blood?

fabi September 21, 2015 at 11:18 PM

No, but that title…*shiver*

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 11:29 PM

Oh not at all. I’d say read that one first if you can. Archangel’s Shadow can be read as a standalone, of course. It’s the same series, and the couple in Angel’s Blood literally makes me swoon with their romance. :D

fabi September 21, 2015 at 11:31 PM

Oh oh oh, I’m on it now. I like swoon worthy reads.

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 11:35 PM

Warning. Their romance spans the first three books. It’s one of those type.

fabi September 21, 2015 at 11:36 PM

That’s OK. I don’t mind that at all. I just downloaded the sample. I’ll try it as soon as I’m done with this one.

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 11:38 PM

Fear Us is still not downloaded. I wish there was a system that said your book will be available at this hour with Amazon.

Tessa September 21, 2015 at 11:39 PM

NVM, it just downloaded!

Cheryl September 22, 2015 at 7:12 AM

Fabi & Tessa thanks. *hugs Manny* Didn’t realize this was so dark- Badger has REASONS for why he is the way he is. :(
