<— Oooooh I’m already finding some that I’m *squirreling* over… *squeee!!!*

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! (September 24th): Hopeless by Colleen Hoover is on sale!! (Thanks Amy!!) Here is my review. This book is awesome! —>

AND!! Temper For You by Genna Rulon was just released today. It is book three in her “For You” series. I believe each one is about a different couple so likely can be read as standalones, although getting to know them all from the start is best (and I loved book #1. Here is my review of that one).

So far… making me squirrel #1 is a vampire one. Unrequited <— GAH! It sounds awesome (’cause he’s a history teacher in a normal town, hiding the fact that he’s a vampire, and a new high school student comes to town… also hiding that she’s a vampire). Eeeeep!! And of course Deacon (’cause I’m a Kristen Ashley addict!) and Stay with Me (’cause I love this author, and I always love romance that starts off along the lines of “a girl walks into a bar…”) 😉 and With the Father ’cause what’s a *squirrel-fest* without something absolutely forbidden to tempt me with? Yikes!!!! And I can’t forget Tell Me You Love Me ’cause that cover has me, but that blurb? HAS ME EVEN MORE!! OMG this is gonna be awesome, I can just tell!

Plus I noted a bunch more, below, and added some brand new “pre-orders” that just came up!

And don’t forget to check out yesterday’s “early-bird” releases list. Plenty of awesome sounding ones on there, with one super-forbiddeny one that made my eyes bug out when I read the synopsis.

Anyway, there are some newbies that were just released, and while tomorrow is our official release day, ya know I can’t help but highlight the good-looking early birds.

Finally!” Fabi loves this one! “Vain – mentioned in a previous blog post, has a really original plot.  It’s a hot one with a moody, reclusive alpha jerk and an ultra modern heroine that we don’t often see.  The short book grabs you right from the beginning and ends with an umph.  I had to download the author’s other works after this one.” And while I hear there are cliffhangers, it’s no problem to us that are new to the series, since it’s complete. 😀

I blinked back the stinging in my eyes and kissed the top of her head. We’d find our way back. It would take a little time, but this was us—partners in crime. Back together. She was my princess and I was her tiger.

The puppy wiggled up under her chin and I felt her breathy laugh more than I heard it. “Alex,” she said.

I leaned my head back a bit so I could look down at her. “Alex?”

“Yeah,” she said, kissing the dog on the nose. “I named him Alex, because he was destined for the same fate as our Alex.” She tilted her head back and gazed up at me. “The one taking all the beating. But you saved this one.”

Emotion pooled thick in my throat. I couldn’t swallow. “Good name,” I managed to whisper.

I joined her in stroking Alex’s back. Her fingers were so small next to mine, slender sticks with little white ovals of bitten nails at the ends. The bones in her wrists stood out and I couldn’t help but wrap my index finger and thumb around her forearm to see how far up I could go and have my fingertips still touch.

She placed her palm flat on my chest, watching my hand climb up her arm to just under her elbow. Her hand was cold, but the touch unexpected and sent shivers down my stomach. She was much too thin. Drugs would do that—make you forget about everything else that you needed to survive. “Are you hungry?” I asked. “I can run out and get you something.”

She shook her head and slid her hand across my body, wrapping it around my side as she lay her head on my chest and snuggled against me.

It was her spot. She still fit.

I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, watching her head lift up and drop back down on my chest. I never thought I’d see her there again. I spent so many nights like this, I’d know the top of her downy, blond head anywhere. The part in her hair that veered to the left, the bump of a cowlick on the right, the scar from three stitches. The hospital was told it was from falling down roller skating, but it was really from the end of a belt buckle our foster father hit her with.

I brought my hand up and traced the scar with my fingertip. Her stories were my stories. My past was her past. Our lives were entangled and always would be.

I ran my fingers through her hair for what seemed like hours. Her breathing deepened and her arm went slack across my waist. For the first time in forever, my mind was still. I wasn’t anxious about the next fight or running through footwork in my head. I wasn’t playing back what happened that night or ready to run away—get back on the road. I was still. My head was clear. I had everything I needed right here in my arms. Having Danny back filled me up and completed me. Nothing else mattered anymore. Going to Austin, not going to Austin. Fighting, not fighting. All that mattered was us—Danny and I. As long as I had her, I’d be fine.

The hypnotic white noise that took over while I was fighting sometimes was happening now. It lulled me, put me in a trance. Maybe it was insanity, but I didn’t care. It felt perfect and I closed my eyes and let it take me away.

I woke a while later on my side, aroused. A leg was swung over my hip, pelvis grinding into my ass and lips working at the back of my neck. Her hand roamed from my lower stomach up and down over my cock.

It took me a second to put it together and then–

“Danny,” I whispered.

She wrapped her hand around me and squeezed in response. The air left my lungs and I groaned. Jesus, it had been a while.

“This is right,” she said against my neck, rubbing her hard nipples across my back through her thin t-shirt.

I closed my eyes. Every nerve ending in my body was on fire. My muscles clenched and my hips thrust against her hand, working me. This is right. It f@#king felt right. Nothing had ever felt this right.

“Roll over,” she said, pressing down on my shoulder.

My back hit the mattress and her lips crawled up the side of my neck. Her body rolled on top of mine, straddling me. She was hot and writhing, needful. Her face came over mine, her lips closing in on my mouth. Our eyes met.

“Wait.” I took her face in my  hands, my entire body shaking with shock, my mind reeling. We both panted for air, inhaling each other’s exhaled breaths.

Confused and drunk with lust, I sat up with her on my lap. She wrapped her legs around my waist; her eager fingers tip-toed up my chest. “I want you,” she said, her lips brushing mine.

I didn’t know if I had the strength to resist, but I knew if this happened, it would derail us from where we should be headed together. “I need to know you again first,” I said, brushing her hair back from her face, kissing her forehead, her nose, her chin. “I need inside here,” I said, touching her temple. “And here.” I touched her heart. “Before here,” I slipped my hand between us, where her heat was making me throb.

Bobbi: So I finished Welcome to Sugartown tonight … I honestly can’t say why but I started this book thinking it was going to be a light read … and it certainly started out that way … but I have to warn anyone considering reading this book that it is absolutely NOT a light read in any way shape or form. Not at all. I actually began to feel physically uncomfortable at times because the lightness of the narration throughout the book in contrast to the events that actually happened… Good read, so I would recommend it, but definitely not what I was expecting…

You know my TBR list? It’s full. It needs to be read. It has a ton of books that I KNOW are going to rock my world, and yet… I’m still *squirreling* over a bunch more books. So I made another list.

These are the ones that have been making me squirrel with each “release” and “bargain” list I make. I highlight ’em, I one-click a bunch of ’em as I go, but then… as more awesome sounding blurbs bombard me, I forget ’em. But I don’t wanna forget ’em, ’cause I wanna read ’em. So I made myself this misc. “TBR list”. 😉 Maybe some of these’ll interest you, too? Or maybe you’ve read one, and wanna tell me about it? 😀

  6. One To Tell The Grandkids by Kristina M. Sanchez <— Single and pregnant, and a potential love triangle?! Sounds like it’s going to be angsty. YES PLEASE!!
  7. Falling In: (Intermix) (The Surrender Trilogy) by Lydia Michaels <— I want to read the whole trilogy and I hear this one REALLY has us connecting hard. Kandace says: “It’s about a girl who has lived her entire life on the street and a rich guy. It sounds simple but it is way more than that.” PLUS!! I hear book #2 has something that happens that made Kandace soooo mad!!
  8. The Rules Regarding Gray by Elizabeth Finn <— Her boyfriend gives her permission to be with his best friend, but with rules. What happens when the best friend starts falling for her, though. GAH!!!! ANGST!!! Triangle ANGST!! Kim is reading it and says: “I started The Rules Regarding Gray OMG OMG just OMG LOVE it!!!!!!”

  11. FATE BOOK (a New Adult Novel) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff <— MichelleS is adamant that I read this one!! And I think it sounds perfect. She says: “I will mention AGAIN the book I just finished. I want someone else to enjoy it, dang it. It’s called Fate Book. It was such a surprise. It starts off with a girl who tells a whopper of a lie because her arch-enemy is such a bee-yotch. She posts on FB that she has a boyfriend and uses a picture of a hot model she finds on the internet. Who is going to find out? He’s in the Hamptons!! THEN….. one day he shows up!! And he tells her to go along with it, or else. or else what? Why? what the? Then it gets crazy. The girls is so funny and loveable. And he is a complete mystery. And you have NO IDEA why he is pretending to be her hot boyfriend. The writing was great. It’s a stand alone. HEA. Epilogue. It was like KA lite….. loved it. If nothing is doing it for you, you should read this one.””

  14. I Want It That Way by Ann Aguirre <— Another one that can’t stop calling my name. Single handsome but grumpy father, living in the same apartment building that she does… Oh I bet their banter will be awesome! And Tracie loved it, saying: “It. Was. Awesome. It was exactly what I wanted and I just fell in love with everyone! Their honesty was so refreshing, and their intimacy was just beautiful, the sweet words.. I want more. I never wanted it to end… I don’t know what it was, but this book just grabbed me, everything Ty said had me melting.” READ!!! My Book Review
  15. Surviving Love by Ada Frost <— I love moody grumpy gorgeous heroes, and so here’s another that i don’t want to forget about. Super-moody-grumpy hot guy living with her… “What do you do when you find out you’re pregnant, your boyfriend rejects you, your sister is beaten half to death and the most annoyingly gorgeous man takes up residence in your house?“
  16. Heart Of Light by T.K. Leigh <— DARK READ ALERT and has SOOOOO many 5 star reviews. Almost ALL 5 star reviews… I MUST READ THIS!!! Abused, escapes, and is in hiding… after many years, she finally feels free, and falls in love… until… *gasp!!!*
  17. Blood & Roses Series by Callie Hart <— I’m hearing this installment series is to die for but the series isn’t complete yet, so I’m just waiting on that. 🙂 This hero is pure bad and plain ol’ awesome and so many of our fellow readers are melting left and right. “She wants me to be her hero, But I’m not a good man. I am her damnation.” 
  18. Rules of Protection by Alison Bliss <— So many are loving this one! She’s in the witness protection program and her special agent “handler” has to hide her deep in the Texas woods… with him. YAY ME!!! Christine says: “LMAO funny! It’s in the Rock Chick and Wallbanger funny category.” and Linh loved it, too! “I just finished reading Rules of Protection by Alison Bliss and I am still smiling.  It’s such an entertaining book.  The heroine has absolutely no filter and everything that comes out of her mouth is hilarious.  And I love  it when the hero is strong and quiet and just lets her run rings around him.  The supporting characters were fun and can I say I had such a great time with this book?  It would make such a great Rom Com movie.  Please file this for when u want to just have fun with a book and need something light.“

He Found Me by Whitney Barbetti <— Another DARK READ sounding blurb that made me eeeeeep!!! “And the moment I started allowing myself to open up, allowing someone to see through the superficial, was the very same moment the Monster from my past would return to find me.” Great reviews, and part two is expected out this month!
