LOVE IN ALASKA!!! Nancy and I have been on a kick (and LOVING!!) stories and romances that happen in Alaska, whether it be about a vacation in Alaska, or relocating or stranded due to a crash. 😉 It’s ALL good!!!

Nothing better than a couple becoming friends and falling in love in a beautiful, almost magical place, especially when it throws all sorts of monkey wrenches and challenges at them!

Nay: OMG! I just saw this list. After I read The Great Alone last year, I was actively searching for similar books. I don’t know if anything will ever top it as my favorite book set in Alaska, but I’m looking forward to finding out. Right now, I’m on a “less romance, more wilderness hardships/mystery” thing, so I’m hoping some of these are like that.

• The Simple Wild: A Novel (here’s my 4-star book review)

Jean: The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker and really loved it. For those of you who like the slow burn, and that initial dislike of each other slowly growing into something more, you will love this. And I loved all the aspects of Alaska and the types of people who live there and their way of life!

Tammy: I loved The Simple Wild!

MichelleS: If you like Alaska as a setting, and contemporary romance, you might want to try The Simple Wild, by KA Tucker. I totally felt like I was there. So authentic. And not in a wilderness way, but if you lived there kind of way.

Danielle: I’m from Alaska. Born and bred and currently reside, from a small village. I’m about 25% in and am impressed with how accurate the author’s descriptions are of Alaska. (I don’t know how many other authors would know that WiFi isn’t always available but GCI is)

Hvitserk: I’m getting too fussy with the books I read lately. It’s possible my view of this book was influenced by my high opinion of The Simple Wild. Ughhh I think Calla and Jonah ruined me. 😣😂 Do you know any books close to this genre? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

R. Renee: Simple Wild is hands down my fave by her so far! Read it ASAP!! Simple Wild will make my top ten of the year for sure.

Kathy: The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker. I stayed up late to finish it. Definitely one of my best reads of the year! Visiting Alaska is now at the top of my bucket list!!

Ash: I really enjoyed The Simple Wild – offbeat and even though I hate the cold, Alaska worked for me!

Harper: Just finished Wild at Heart: A Novel (The Simple Wild Book 2). I’m completely in love with this series. I can’t imagine how K.A. Tucker could write something better than these two books. It had it all. I laughed a lot, cried and smiled through beginning to end. The character development was off the charts. The secondary characters were so well the developed that they could have their own books.

The only fault I could find was that it ended way too soon. I just wanted to spend more time with this story. I guess I will have to read it again until the author decides to write a third one.

Anne: I loved this book even if it was slow for me to pick up at first. I was always on the edge waiting for the dad to flip! 😅

Maryse: ME TOOOOO!!!! He freaked me out!!!

Lucy: The Great Alone by Kristen Hannah. I loved the Nightingale so I jumped on this one, I was not disappointed. A family homesteading in Alaska, the family relationships, young love and tragedy. It will stay with me for a long time.

Nancy: Under the Northern Lights by S.C. Stephens! AND on sale now. You must but UNDER THE NORTHERN LIGHTS on your “recluse” books. It takes place in the nowhere Alaska in a cabin.

Leslie M: …It was stressful because of the survival element in rural Alaska but Alaska fascinates me, so I enjoyed that aspect of it. …I think all of you will love it! No worries if you didn’t like Thoughtless as characters and storyline are NOTHING like it. It’s slow burn, major UST, super swoony, single POV by h and reminds me of The Simple Wild and K.A. Tucker’s writing style.

Pam: The Bailey’s Series by Piper Rayne. There is a whole family of siblings.❤

Andrea: The Alaskan Nights series by Addison Fox. Three books and a novella with women traveling to Alaska and falling for an Alaskan man. All set in winter.

Amber: Northern Lights by Nora Roberts

Nancy: Finished Reading: NORTHERN LIGHTS by Nora Roberts. Borrowed Kindle Edition from Public Library. It is 670 pages, but I read it pretty quickly for me. It wasn’t that I had the time, as I took the time to read it. I haven’t read a Nora Robert’s novel in a really longtime. This was one fit my Alaskan Book craving perfectly: Lunacy, Alaska has a new sheriff in town. There is also a killer on the loose that leaves a lot of mystery. Plus two lonely souls looking for love & redemption.

I bought myself for my bookshelf from Half Price Book Store! When I like a book, I buy a print copy for my shelf.

Anne: Badd Brothers series by Jasinda Wilder!

Maryse: I didn’t realize Alaska was the location!!!

Anne: I remember it very well because I had to research places in Alaska so I’d be able to relate to the story.

Amber: Two Cabins, One Lake: An Alaskan Romance by Shaye Marlow. There are 4 books in the series, and I think they are all in kindle unlimited.

Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy by Max Monroe <— CELEBRITY ROMANCE ALERT!! MONY & Michele LOVED it!

Mony: While back I mentioned I worked in Arctic…and the quirky things people do in the books…well, they’re often true. lol

You might like Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy by Max Monroe – got title from Renee. Great & funny E-T-L read! Lots of Alaska + some Hollywood as well…Great combo. Just loved it!! The characters (she’s a hoot), the parts in Alaska, the slow burn E-T-L, & Hollywooooood stuff too.

Michele G: Mony, I also loved Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy!!! I highly recommend you give Rapture a go. I love all of her books but it’s my fave!

Janna: The Rockton series by Kelley Armstrong is based in Alaska. It is classified as a mystery but there is a great relationship through all the books (same couple).

Jan: I’m not a massive bdsm fan …I read the Sons of the Survivalist books (Cherise Sinclair) and they weren’t bad. Two so far and I’m guessing more to come for the other brothers. I will read them too as they come out, I’m sure.

Nancy: Finished reading ALASKA WILD by Helena Newbury today. WOW was it Good! ALASKA WILD was my latest book in my Alaskan Book Reading Quest. KINDLE UNLIMITED! This was fast-paced & action-packed from the first page till the last page. A page-turner for sure! 5*

Nancy: Maryse, I loved these two books. I’m recommending them both and should go on your Alaskan Book List, too! I know I said I was leaving reading Alaskan books for a break, but these two gems have me right back in Alaska!!

I finished reading TRUE GOLD and went right on to read MIDNIGHT SON. Both by Michelle Pace. These books are so good they took me right out of my book slumb. Going on my Alaskan Book Recommendation List!!

Nay: I was looking at True Gold because I’m always searching for Alaska books, and I find out there’s a list! How did I miss this?

Michelle: …My other totally new author to me, PNR gem last year was Alaskan Fire (Guardians of the First Realm Book 1) by Sara King. Those both were favorites of mine.

Jean: I am reading Sex in the Sticks: A Love Hurts Novel! Please don’t let the cover fool you because I am absolutely loving this book! She is a rich NY girl who blogs about sex and relationships, but she’s sick of the NY metrosexual guys she always dates. So, she travels to Alaska to find out what those men are like…..so good!! She is out of her element, small town drama, and a hottie to boot!!

Linda: Just read Sex in the Sticks by Sawyer Bennett on someone’s recommendation. Really turned off by title and cover but so very happy I took a chance. Loved it!!! One very hot alpha in this one!!

Maryse: OH!!!!! I also loved Dance With the Devil: A Dark-Hunter Novel (Dark-Hunter Novels Book 3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon!!! That was the other reclusive, angry “Z” (Zarek) that I fell in love with back in my early paranormal days. OHHHH YESSS this one is ALL Alaska, and fan-freaking-tastic!!!! Here’s my 4.5 star book review.

Amanda: Zarek from Dance with the Devil got me so bad. The carvings, how he became a dark-hunter (the Artie part) and the truth about his condition.

Rebecca: Omg Sherrilyn Kenyon is by far one of my favorite authors! I love this whole series especially Zareks book (I’m live in Fairbanks) and Vane’s book because it was the book that got me hooked. After I read his, I read the rest in order because that’s the way I do things and I just can’t enough!

Tessa: Zarek from Dance with the Devil. His story was so good and so sweet!

Tracy: Zarek’s book is a certified heart breaker to the max!

Tasha J: The Snow Child: A Novel (Pulitzer Prize in Letters: Fiction Finalists) by Eowyn Ivey. Not a romance, a fantasy beautifully told and all about love. The Wolves of Winter by Tyrell Johnson is apocalyptic with a budding romance- but definitely not the focus of the story. Just a hint in that one, but I loved it.

Maryse: YES!!! I’m adding it. 🙂 It doesn’t all have to be romance… but a nice love-story playing in the background works perfectly for me.

Mony: I’ve worked in the Arctic and I can say it’s still a kind of pioneer world there. Lots of fun.
So a big thank you for all the great recommendations…love this setting Another recommendation would be The Mountain Man Series (Books 1-3) by Frankie Love. Three friends – recent college grads with no jobs – take a chance on being modern mail order brides in Alaska. Quirky, sexy and fun.

Nancy: I was thinking about the new book list about Alaskan books. And thought about Shay Savage’s Outnumbered. The “cabin” in this one is located on the wilderness of Canada’s Northwest. Bit they were in hiding so didn’t want to be in US territory of Alaska, but close to the border! I think this was on my list of Best Books of 2017. I loved it! Did you read it?

Nancy: I have been reading books that take place in Alaska. My new thing! So when I found: Crazy For You (Last Frontier Lodge Novels Book 8) by J.H. Croix & All books in the series are standalone with HEA. …I one-clicked!

Nancy: I also found one to add to the Alaskan Books! It is Bite & Release by Cory Cyr. I read it back in 2014. And if I’m honest, it was because of the cover. It takes place in Fairbanks, Alaska. Ryan Chase left there when she was 21 & came back now because her dad has passed. At her father’s funeral, she is struck senseless by a stunning, drop-dead gorgeous man. Only problem is he is the same bratty child she babysat years ago. He bit her so hard she has the scar to prove it. 13 years difference in age. There are 3 books in the series, but I only read the 1st one. I really liked that one. …KINDLE UNLIMITED, too!

Nancy: Most of my Book Buddies know I am into Alaskan Books. Here are my latest finds:

1) What I’m reading right now: Northern Lights by Nora Roberts. Borrowed Kindle Edition from Public Library. It is 670 pages & only 20% through! This will take me awhile!

2) Submerged (Alaskan Courage Book #1) by Dani Pettrey. If you are a Prime member, you are able to read for FREE up to 10 eligible PRIME books at one time. Submerged is PRIME eligible.

3) Alaska Wild by Helena Newbury. I have from a reliable source (My Husband) that this book is really good. Once I get through 670 pages of Northern Lights this will be my next book to read!

4) Toward the Midnight Sun by Eoin Dempsey. I got this one back in December as a 1st read book. But another book that takes place in Alaska. I haven’t read yet but in my TBR list! KINDLE UNLIMITED or KINDLE OWNERS LENDING LIBRARY.

5) Under the Northern Lights by S.C. Stephens. I loved this book. It is now on sale for 99 cents & KINDLE UNLIMITED! He is a broken man living in a cabin in no-where Alaska. He rescues her from a airplane crash & from being eaten by a pack of hungry wolves!

6) The Great Alone: A Novel by Kristen Hannah was another borrow from the Public Library. I enjoyed it enough to buy a paperback copy for my bookshelf. The harsh environment doesn’t make me to ever want to live in Alaska, but I do love reading about it!

7) Unsafe Haven by Char Chaffin is an Alaskan Book that I got back in 1/14/18. I’ve not read it yet but kicked it up in my huge TBR list. KINDLE UNLIMITED!

8.) Got into a bit of trouble with one of my favorite authors!! So here is number 8: ODDS-ARE-GOOD Series by Katy Regnery. Last but not Least is this New Series of five standalone Alaskan Stories.

• Single in Sitka (An Odds-Are-Good Standalone Romance Book 1) This is a sweet and wonderful romance story. There is lots of ups and downs and wondering how we will get to that HEA ending. At the end of the book, we get a glimpse of the next book: NOME-O SEEKS JULIET. I will close my review by saying, that if Katy ever wants to give up writing books, she could always take up helping lonely single people write ads.
• Nome-o Seeks Juliet (An Odds-Are-Good Standalone Romance Book 2) The first book I read by Katy Regnery, was THE VIXEN & THE VET. I loved that book so much and made me a fan of her writing ever since. NOME-O SEEKS JULIET gave me the same vibes. Cody & Juliet’s connection is so strong. You will be cheering for them to beat all the odds. Oh, the writing:

“Sometimes, when I wake up beside him, I’m filled with a sensation so strong, so absolute, I almost feel like I’m a part of him. And I wonder if human beings can forge a bond so intimate, so intense, so fierce that even when your bodies aren’t physically joined together, your heart still beats in his chest, and his breath is the air that fills your lungs.” Sigh!!

• A Fairbanks Affair (An Odds-Are-Good Standalone Romance Book 3) The stories are centered around single men in Alaska & their ads placed in An Odds-Are-Good magazine, seeking single women. This book is about a successful distillery owner named Trevor Starling. He was left betrayed and broken hearted when his brother and fiancee had sex the night before Trevor’s wedding. He wasn’t looking forward to an upcoming lonely New Year’s celebration. So he places an ad in the The Odds Are Good, seeking a woman that was also up to a no strings attached weekend of sex.
