In the mood to read something that will make you cry? I have a list for that!
Okay… okay… 😉 I know NOBODY is reaaaaaally in the mood to cry. This is sort of a silly question, but generally when we cry while we read, it’s because we’ve become one with the book. Connected with the characters, which, wouldn’t it be fair to say, means the book is awesome? Exactly!
Awesome IS what we’re in the mood for. That journey, that connection, and that emotional growth that is often proceeded through heartache and pain, but that leaves us exhilarated in the end. Or emotionally spent. All that to say, we’ve got a list!! 😀

Winter Renshaw – P.S. Series Reading Order
I love the eye-catching covers, and the premise of #1 has my heart!! Unrequited love?!!! Could #2 also be one? Each one appears to be a standalone, and I’m dying to know who’s read them? They sound right up my alley!
About book #1:
Dear Isaiah,
Eight months ago, you were just a soldier about to be deployed and I was just a waitress, sneaking you a free pancake and hoping you wouldn’t notice that my gaze was lingering a little too long.
But you did notice.
We spent one life-changing week together before you left, and we said goodbye on day eight, exchanging addresses at the last minute. I saved every letter you wrote me, your words quickly becoming my religion.
But you went radio silent on me months ago, and then you had the audacity to walk into my diner yesterday and act like you’d never seen me in your life. To think … I almost loved you and your beautifully complicated soul.
Almost.Whatever your reason is—I hope it’s a good one.
Maritza the WaitressPS – I hate you, and this time … I mean it.
Avery Flynn – The Hartigans Series Reading Order
I absolutely LOVE these covers, and even more? The premise of each book. Not your traditional “romance heroine” but I have no doubt every bit, someone we can relate to and connect with.
About book #1
It’s true. I’m not what most people would call “pretty” and, well, high school was rough. Fast forward ten years and life is good…
Until a bunch of jerks think it’s hilarious to put the “butterface” (AKA me) on a wedding Kiss Cam with the hottest guy ever—and that old humiliation hits hard.
I recognize him immediately. The sexiest cop in Waterbury and totally out of my league.
But then he kisses me. And we totally forget the room, the crowd, everything.
Then he tells everyone we’ve been dating for months.
Soon everything starts to feel too real, from adorable fights over “necessary” tools to fix my broken porch to surviving a free-for-all dinner with his six siblings to picking up where our last kiss left off.
But there’s something he’s not telling me about why he’s really hanging around, and I’m pretty sure it has to do with my mob-connected brothers.
Because this is not a make-over story, and Cinderella is only a fairy tale…
Five Fun Facts about Alana Alberton's latest release, "Doggy Style" (clever title considering the heartwarming premise!!)
<— JUST RECENTLY RELEASED and I get a total kick out of the sweeeeeeeeeeeet (and sexy!!) cover… and ummmm….. that clever title. Doggy Style (Rescue Me Book 1) *waggles eyebrows* What?? Get your mind out of the gutter! *snort* Nevermind. I was totally there with you. 😉 After all… he’s famous (or… infamous) for a leaked video that went viral… earning him quite the nickname.
That title just makes me blush and giggle SO hard (innuendos always do), but it’s actually quite a clever play on a very sweet-sounding premise. Mind you… I have a feeling it’s plenty steamy, considering the heroe’s… *ahem* reputation. *snort*
So what’s it about? Here’s a tidbit from the blurb to give you an idea:
“…to capitalize on his infamy, he opened a puppy store called Doggy Style. I don’t care if his abs are chiseled, his arms are tattooed, and his face belongs on the cover of a magazine. Every dog sold and bred means a shelter dog dead!
I chained myself to his store in protest, but instead of calling the cops, he threw me a bone.
If I help him open his puppy store, he’ll transform it into a shelter dog adoption center, saving the lives of potentially thousands of dogs. And then I will never have to see this sexy, dirty-talking jerk again. How hard can he—uh, I mean, it—be?”

GASP!!
Tee heeeeeee!!! This just sounds like light-hearted, steamy fun!! And considering I adopted one of the loves of my life (“Hobbit”) from a dog rescue, I can’t help but want to read this. ➔➔➔➔
And AND!!! Thanks to the author (who is also this week’s newsletter sponsor) she sent over a mini guest post in the form of a “Five Fun Facts” about the series! We have more to look forward to!
1. The rescue featured in the book, Pugs N Roses, is my real non profit dog rescue.
2. We have saved over 400 dogs from high kill animal shelters.
3. All the dogs in the book are based off of real dogs we have rescued.
4. Book #2 Downward Dog – is based on Meghan Markle’s rescue beagle.
5. Book #3 Tail Chaser – is about an Amish puppy breeder who falls in love with dog rescuer. The idea for this books stems from my obsession with the movie, Witness, where both Harrison Ford and Viggo Mortensen played Amish men.
YAY!!! This sounds great!! Thank you Alana!!! 😀
