Im halfway thru Dreamfever. GRRRRR…ok, so..why does Barrons aggravate me so much? I am reading them like crazy since I promised my boys a trip down to Orlando next week and it will be on my mind if I don’t get through these books, lol.
Ok,finally done!! Still not sure I wouldn’t haul off and give Barrons a good swift kick in the…..ummm shin 🙂 if I were to meet him. Yet, he won me over in the end. I just wish it didn’t take four books for he and Mac to finally just come together. Sooo, what’s next? Hmmmmm…
I KNOW!! I don’t like the end….for now. What is that. I WANT MORE!!! 🙂 LOVE LOVE LOVE these books. Very awesome series and Mac and Barrons make a great team. Its a love hate thing. I just read the Night Huntress series and Cat and Bones remind me of M & B. U should check it out.

I just started reading this series yesterday. I was able to get all of the books at Half-Price books in Milwaukee in the past 2 weeks so I can race through the series. I am 1/3 of the way through book one and I’m dissappointed that there hasn’t been any sex yet. I’m so used to several PNR authors’ writing styles where you could get some action in the sack within the first 3 chapters. Karen Moning writes about a subject I am very familiar with, the sidhe, and I’ve been to England and Scotland so I’m familiar with how things look in that part of the world. I like her style of writing too but I’m still waiting for something a little titillating. If it weren’t for that excerpt you directed us to on her website I might have given up already.
O HOT DAMN!!!! Barrons could brand me anyday!! I finished reading the series last night I blew through Shadowfever. Even from the beginning I liked Barrons but towards the end YUMMY!! I just wana say thanks for recommending this series, and please keep up with your site cause it’s very helpful….Thanks a bunch 🙂

OOOhhhh you really do have some of the most awesomest (not a real word I know lol) reviews and the characters and worlds I have melted into have been so memorable that I in turn recommend them to my friends and they in turn have gotten hooked 🙂
This series was one I fell in love with straight away and Barrons, well he for me was just pure hotness, loved him and Mac. Just really easy for me to like and wonder about the characters from the start of the series to the end!

I agree, this is my all time favorite series of books!! I have read them all 3 times since the beginning of the year, is that crazy or what? I just love the way Karen developed her characters and the I LOVE the tension between Mac and Barrons! Oh how I wish I could weave a story like she does!! Would love to know if there is going to be anymore stories in this series?

Thank you sooo much for putting this series on this list!!! I don’t know what I would have done knowing such a great series existed without ever reading them! I definitely have the FEVER! I could not put these books down until I was all done! I think I have a new “book boyfriend”- Barrons! So 5 books later I am dying for more. Cant wait till the next one!
So… I am getting ready to re-read this series now that I’ve gone through the highlander series… I think it’s amazing and I’m still completely obsessed with JZB!!! Yummmmm!!! I do think its worth mentioning that there is some back story in the highlander books towards this series… Nothing super critical but I am excited to re-read after learning more about the MacKeltar – yum to them too!
Awesome! I’ve only read the first 3 Highlander books (no idea why i stopped, as I loved them) and I hear Adam Black is something else!! I love how Karen fits the books together like a puzzle.
Ok first and formost, I love this site, and want to thank you so much for introducing me to the” worlds” of Karen Marie Moning , I have devoured the Fever series , And have already pre-ordered everything Ms Moning has coming out this year. I’ve been reading her, Highlander series the last week and a half “Braw, sexy, kilt clad men” …*sigh* . Just finished the 6th in the series, Immortal highlander. Adam Blacks story, ( Im soo in love..) By far my favorite in her highlander series, and highly recommend you catching up, lol! Thanks again for such a great site!

OMG, I don’t know whether I love or hate this series. I am in the first quarter of Shadowfever and I am so mad at Mac. This series is so back and forth, up and down I am about to scream! I just want to skip to the end for the final outcome. I have never read a book that I wanted to cheat so bad with just to get to the end.
Maryse, this series is the first that I questioned your expertise. Grrr it is really pissing me the FECK off, lol.

Okay I more than halfway thru Shadowfever; and am I the only one that think Mac is self-centered and the world is supposed to revolve around her and her decisions? Mac is on my last nerve. Grrrr. I have to stop and take a breather bedore I can continue. I don’t think I have ever read a book that the heroine irritates me the way Mac does!
I loved Iced. I thought it was the best book so far, much different than the others yet still ties in nicely with the fever books. I do miss Barrons and Mac but this will hold us over till those books come out. Mac is growing up, she’s funny and I like getting into the other characters. Is Ryodan gonna be a love interest or a father interest for Dani, hmmmm? I thot Barrons was the big boss of the beasts that can’t die but Ryodan seems pretty much in charge in this book, we shall see. I love this author!

Hi. New to the forum but I have read all the books and I have to say Iced is excellent!! K. MONING gives the best twists and just leaves me at the edge of my seat!! I was so aggrivated with Mac at first but she had come out on top. I love the stubborness of both Mac and Dani. I wish Dani would hurry up and grow already. I really want to see if Dani is someone akin to Barrons and his men….well, a female version.

I read these books when they first came out and enjoyed them a lot. In my mind though always wanted it to be Mac and Alina fighting back-to-back instead of Mac and Dani. Just thought it would have been such fun to have two sisters(Alina and Junior aka Mac) that totally adored each other and searching for answers together and falling in love with questionable “men” instead of having Mac bond with this child Dani. Just my humble opinion though. Still loved the series even if slightly annoyed and confused at the end of Shadowfever.

After reading the Highlander Series, I have to be honest, I didn’t really think the fever series was my style. Boy was I wrong! Its probably one of the best series I’ve ever read…and I read a lot. Can’t wait for “Burned” to come out, nor the trilogy.
Question: I haven’t read anything by this author and am looking for someone to tell me if I should start with this series or Highlander. Anyone?

Sorry, Highlander first, unless you want to get to the more far out stories faster, in which case you read the last Highlander book and the jump right into the Fever series.
Basically, the Highlander books introduces you to the participants of the Fever Series. It’s very clever how Ms. Moning does that.
Did not care for the first few books, but kept reading the series and I became addicted to Mac and especially Barron’s!! He is one bad dude and I love it when he calls her Ms. Lane!! I also love the 9 immortals tat are in his pack. Burned gave me a little look of what they might be. Love the series!
Ok so I’m about ready to start ICED ….honestly I’m not looking forward to it as much as I did to each new fever book…tell me…will I love it or hate it???
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve burned through the first few books and now half way through Dreamfever! As much as I’m loving this series, I’m hating it too! Loving the Mac / Barrons / V’lane storyline but GOD the angst between them, especially Barrons, is killing me! And Mac’s journey is crazy! I feel for her… I’m not sure if I can live this series out!!! I’m ready to skip straight to the end just to see what happens!
But I think Nalini Singh’s Psy series is my absolute fave!!!

I think I made a mistake or did I. I thought the name of the book coming out in Jan. was Feverborn. But than I see that there is a book called Feversong. HELP ME PLEASE¡!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!
Fever born is the january one and fevers on is later in the year
I was disappointed in Feverborn. Hopefully the last book in the series –Feverson will be much better. I love the series, but I did not like the last book.
