Reader Question – The book about the chef that saves the day at the struggling Inn by cooking for her guests…

Cathy needs our book help! And I LOVE foodie romances and chefs and grumpy characters, so YAY US!!!

She asks:

I am looking for a book about a chef whose car breaks down close to a struggling Inn and he saves the day for the grumpy owner when he fixes a meal for her guests.

He ends up staying, cooking and I think doing repair work and romance ensues.

P.S. He was heading out to someplace to scope out another restaurant to start up with a friend when his car broke down. His friend ended up in a later book, as well. read more

I’m a huge Outlander fan (and I love to cook!), so I was thrilled when I received THIS cookbook —> Outlander Kitchen: The Official Outlander Companion Cookbook!! It’s proudly displayed in my kitchen. P.S. I took that photo!! 😀

Okay so… I know we’re not a “cooking blog” but we often go off the book-rails in our comment section talking about life in general. And over the years, we’ve shared (and enjoyed) each other’s recipes, cooking ideas and favorite foods. Yep. We are TOTAL foodies here.

Rachel Higginson – Opposites Attract Series Reading Order

<— OMG!! THIS IS A SUPER FUNNY, and yet swoon-worthy romance series that is right up my alley! That book right there to the left? HAD ME HOOKED. Total 5 stars from me (my review).

Maryse: The Opposite of You did not have any kind of wallop, or twist or major angst, or anything crazy in the least. But what it felt like to me, was solid writing with that realistic, fun, “adult” (or should I say “new adult”) feel from way back when they were all so awesome.

And entirely from her POV so it kept me always “feeling” like her, and worried, or crushing, or fuming that felt just so natural to me. And her “issue” that was sort of the “scary part” was one that made sense to me, and that many women experience. read more

Amy E. Reichert – The Coincidence of Coconut Cake Series Reading Order

For all you foodie romance lovers out there (I’m a newly discovered one!!!) THIS series is much loved and book #3 just came out. Each one can be read as a standalone.

Tasha: The Coincidence of Coconut Cake made me want to take a trip for Wisconsin! … the cover of Luck, Love, and Lemon Pie has stuck in my mind. Since I read the Coincidence of Coconut Cake, I have a feeling this book is just as yummy.

Lori: Thanks for all of the great finds! Just finished The Coincidence of Coconut Cake and LOVED it. What a sweet, fun book that I would have never discovered on my own. And being from Wisconsin, the Milwaukee setting made it extra cool! Now what to read next… read more
