Reader Question – In case anyone else has similar Kindle freezing issues, maybe this post will help!

November 30, 2017 By Maryse 1 Comment

TINA NEEDS KINDLE-EMERGENCY HELP!!

And in case anyone else has similar Kindle issues, maybe this post will help, ’cause SO MANY came to the rescue!

She says:

“Help!!!! My kindle froze, and after a restart i cant get anything but the kindle logo?? I have googled and tried but no success..it does not open

Anyone?? Its a 7th gen. e-reader.”

Anyone know what she can do?

Colleen: Google how to do a hard reset.

Julie: My Kindle a couple months ago just shut down and would not come on. I got on Amazon and technician there called me on my phone and walked me through restarting it. Mine however was completely fried. (don’t know why) I would try contacting them and have them walk you through a recovery.

Stacy: Did you press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to restart? Try that and if doesn’t work, charge it for about 30 minutes and try it again.

Nicole: Hold the button down for 40 Seconds if it doesn’t work contact kindle they have kindle support online and it usually only takes a minute or so for someone to come online to help.

Kara: Try plugging it in and walk away. Sometimes it will get out of of stupid mode on its own.

Sherry: https://www.ifixit.com/…/Kindle_7th_Generation…

Kim: My sons did the same thing. I called the tech support. They had me hold the power button done for different amounts of time and then sent us a new one when that didn’t fix it! It was a 10 minute phone call and all I had to do was send my sons broken one back.

Candace: call the Amazon helpline and they will tell you what to do. This happened to me and they had to do a complete reset but it has worked just fine since then.

Carol: I would plug it in to recharge for a few hours then try again.

Nicole: Something happened to mine, unfortunately the only thing I could do was buy a new one

Nicole: Amazon tech support is amazing! Give them a call. GOOD LUCK!! +1 (888) 280-4331

Barbara: Mine did that. I googled it and it said to plug it in, hold the power button down for a count of 45 till it blinks off. Let it sit for awhile, don’t do anything. After an hour or so push the button on. This resets it.

Lori: This worked on mine too.

Tina: Thx everyone! I have tried the “hold the button for x seconds” many times without luck I bought this like two years ago in Norway, so i might need to go to this shop and see if they can help. Maybe some guarantee will get this fixed..

Sherida: My last kindle did the same but I was in the middle of the latest Kristen Ashley and I just could not deal. Went to the nearest store and bought a new one. Once I finished the book I called Amazon Helpdesk had it fixed and gifted it to my daughter. Looking back on that event I feel NO shame.

Happy 8th Birthday, Blog!!! The Trilogy Conclusion. Let’s Reminisce… Part 3

March 8, 2017 By Maryse 54 Comments

If you missed it, check out Part 1 & 2 here:

  • Happy 8th Birthday, Blog!!! Let’s Reminisce… Part 1
  • Happy 8th Birthday, Blog!!! Let’s Reminisce… Part 2

I’ve turned this fun event into a trilogy of sorts (and today’s post is more of a fun freestyle look-back on ALL of us together here). A few more questions to answer, some of our funniest moments, and the very first comments made by our hilarious crew!

But first… yes, I’ve teased the heck out of our group, when I delayed posting the last part (the trilogy conclusion, if you will) until today. Since today is “Reader Confession” day, this post fits the theme perfectly! πŸ˜‰

Although, I think I now know how authors feel when they (for whatever reason) delay a release. Oooooh boy do my fellow readers get antsy. πŸ˜‰ *snort* But guuuuuuuyssss! It’s not like I left y’all on a cliffhanger. It was more of a… “But wait. There’s more!” type of thing πŸ˜›

Grey:Β Tell me that I’m not the only one who has been checking all day for… part 3 of Birthday Shenanigans. I’m avoiding adulting in a major way today. Breaks. Lunch. This is where I check in first… Hi all!

Fabi:Β sheesh Maryse, you have made waaaaiiiit for part 3 of your trilogy. Even worse than waiting on your reviews.Β Β ;-)

Ela:Β Oh Maryse????? How was

Eight years of book-heaven, and still going strong!!! Here we are, all of my best book buds, laughing, reading, crying together. And we’ve experienced all sorts of stuff, from book-related reactions, to real-life reactions, and your “blog” questions, and blog memories of when you first arrived here, have me reminiscing (and smiling… and even tearing up) BIG time.

Our Facebook crew has been with us for years, too…

Maryse: You guys. YOU. GUYS. OMG. My book blog is going to be 8 years old on February 28th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *thud* EIGHT. YEARS. OLD!!!!!!! *snuggles my blog and all of the books* πŸ˜€ My blog was almost a leap year baby!!! By ONE day!!!!!

That is how I found your blog. Right after that I moved to South Africa and maryse’s book blog saved me from homesickness and insanity! So thanks!

Penelope Ward:Β It’s an amazing blog, one I followed from the moment I started reading this genre before I even wrote my first word. Congrats Maryse and thank you for all you do!

SO I have more fun reader-blog questions to answer!! I had such a blast yesterday answering the, but I’m so darn wordy, that post would have gone on for hours. LOL!!

Q: MichelleS:Β My question for you is, what’s your favorite book cover ever??? I’m still a sucker for pretty covers.

A. Maryse: Hrmmm… wow that is a hard one. I think I’m going to sayΒ Twilight (The Twilight Saga Book 1). So intriguing, so tempting… possibly so sinful. Gah I LOVED it. Such a pure yet enticing image. It says so much. And I love all of the covers in this series (also that ribbon one).

BUT!! There are SO many that I love for various reasons, and I tend to prefer “subtle”. A message conveyed via the cover, enticingly… yet subtly.

There are some that attract me because they seem so deep… as if the story inside will be life-changing (Comfort Food, for example). So much dark emotion. For some reason I’m terribly drawn to both “Tampa: A Novel” (<— I haven’t read it yet, because *gasp* that blurb!!! But OMG that cover is so… *ahem* dirty, but in an innocent way. Tee hee. It’s so overt, without being obnoxious. And yet it is TOTALLY obnoxious. Clever.) and “Hausfrau: A Novel” (<— It’s not my favorite cover, but there’s something about it that kept me staring at it… it up in my TBR list and guess what? I LOVED IT!!).

I LOVE some creepy looking ones because OMG what am I in for?? You know? BUT!!! Subtly creepy. Eerie and intriguing. Like the original version of “You: A Novel“. And for sure, Bad MommyΒ (again, most of Tarryn Fisher’s book covers appeal to me). They are gorgeous and instill a sense of panic and anticipation in me.Β Of course I love some that have that perfect cover model, in the perfect pose without too much… er… exposure. πŸ˜‰ Like Dirty Doctor: A Novella. Classy, and yet SO sexy. Just enough to know exactly what he looks like, yet not too much to ruin it for me.Β Again, subtle but sexy is the keyword here. For hot cover models, though, there was a time these were my favorites:Β Something WickedΒ and Night Embrace (<— This one has Paul Marron on the cover, who I spoke of in Part 1Β of this Book Blog BirthdayΒ feature).

And of course a few “originals” simply due to my sentimental attachment to them. Realizing that I may sound like a broken record here, one of my favorite book covers ever (it attracted me immediately and after reading the blurb I one-clicked it SO hard) was the original “Beautiful Disaster“. I love the new one (it’s beautiful, too), but there was something so bad-ass, and chaotic about that first one.

Q: MichelleS: And is your book husband still Travis? After all these years? Because mine is still Rhage!!! Or Jamie Fraser. Have read so many books, with so many great male leads, but haven’t changed my mind on that.

A. Maryse: Absolutely!!!! Nobody has taken his place yet. Although… Zsadist would be my only other. And in a way, he was my first. It was almost as if Travis (in my head) was the human version of Z. Β Oh boy. Iif I could be transported into either of their book worlds to “become” the heroine, I would have a TERRIBLE time choosing which. I think it would be impossible to choose. But I think it would be Z. *gasp*!!!! I can’t believe I just said that (but I will say it’s ’cause Z is the ultimate bad-ass of all bad-asses and will live forever so…). Ummm… can I have TWO book husbands?

Q: Fabi:Β I want to know what you’re genre progression has been over the years. I know you’re blog started as PNR. Did you read read/prefer another genre before that? After PNR, did you go to mostly NA, or to CR indie? I think you a short m/m phase and now you’re really into psych thrillers. So, give us a timeline of the evolution of Maryse’s reading tastes. I know we all read a little if everything, but we tend to prefer one genre for short periods of time. What were your preferences since you started blogging?

A: M: Oh fun question!!! My preferences when I started blogging was Paranormal Romance. Or Urban Fantasy as LONG as there was a love story (even if it took the whole series to finally get there). There was (IS) nothing better than love, for me, and pining for it for a whileΒ – even with all the heartbreaking drama and shock moments – is so addicting and makes it so much more worth it!

But my reading history? When I was in my teens, I read mostly horror (Stephen King and Dean Koontz were my favorites) and autobiographies, with the occasional Danielle Steele or Sweet Valley High or Judy Blume book. My weekends were in my room, devouring books, and I read like a fiend. My mom too (so that’s where I get it from – although she was mostly Harlequin romance and Danielle Steele).

As an adult, I stuck with horror but switched to ROCK STAR autobiographies!!! I only read maybe 3 books a year at the most (and it was that way for years). I can’t believe I went from being a book-devouring teen to an occasional reader. *sigh* Although, the occasional Nora Roberts book snuck in (and my very first “fictional” book love was from one of hers. I had NEVER fallen in love, reading a romance book, but this one did me in). It wasΒ Born in Ice: The Born In Trilogy #2Β and holy moly, HE started my love for brooding, reclusive, no-nonsense jack-asses. LOL!

That’s when I became curious with romance books, but it never really took form until my mom called me one day, demanding I read TWILIGHT IMMEDIATELY! I was hesitant. A teenager series about vampires? No thanks, mom. I won’t. I have nothing in common with that, and I don’t even like vampire horror! And she said… NO MARYSE!!!!! This is romance, and you will fall in LOVE with the vampire, I promise you!!! NOBODY can read this book without falling in love. It’s impossible.

2008. Challenge accepted!!! And so she sent me the series for Christmas and I read them back to back (faster, stronger and harder than ANY book I had ever read before). I had NEVER been so addicted to a story or characters in my life. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep. I was in a perpetual love fog, and that was it. That was the start. Now all I WANTED were paranormal men. Human men couldn’t hold a candle to these immortal bad-asses that could protect and love you like no other. Sure… it was all a bit too intense and too bossy, and too alpha-male dominating (and sure, in real life, this would be hard to deal with) but in my book life? THIS was all I wanted. EVER. ALWAYS. NON-STOP. I read every single paranormal series I could get my hands on that promised I would fall in love hard.

2009 to 2011 – I think it went like this: Twilight Series (2008), Sookie Stackhouse series, Anita Blake series, Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Dark Hunter series, Vampire Academy, Night Huntress, and so on and so on… (eventually delving into the more super-romance paranormals that were funny, too – like Lynsay Sands and Kerrelyn Sparks).

2011 – Then, my paranormal needs slowed down significantly. It felt as if I was in a different book, but the same dark alley, you know? Over and over again, they all started running into each other, and I had lost that loving feeling. I was so sad. I wasn’t done reading, I was just done reading the same thing. That’s when I came across a free book on Amazon (Backstage Pass) that was about a girl touring with a famous rock band, and falling for one of ’em. OMG. I LOVED rock stars!!! Surely he’d not be as good as a paranormal hero (stupid mortal boys rolleyes) *snort*, but rock stars are larger then life in their own right. God-like. Hard to get, hard to love, and hard to be loved by. I WAS IN!!! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

2011 – 2017 And OMG!!! I caught the love-bug again, and while I wasn’t specific to rock stars, I certainly wanted bad boys that needed nobody, and that everybody wanted. Hard to get, and when they set their sites on the heroine, that SHE was good enough for HIM… holy moly my heart. I was addicted. Brian and then Travis and then Kellan (these three had me almost as HARD in love as I was with Edward, and Zsadist and Eric),Β and the rest is history. πŸ˜‰

2016 – 2017… and yes. I’m venturing into different genres now. At times it does feel like a lot of these romance stories are sounding alike… running into each other again. BUT!! That loving feeling is still there, mind you, for some of these epic love stories. The more unique ones. The ones that “go there” but written so well, as if it’s real, detailed just so. LIVING it out instead of rushing it out. There are still plenty of those, and they are still my #1 read-need.

But I can tell I’m needing more. Something else. I’m still searching for that reading adrenaline rush. That breath taking moment. That story that I dream about, all night after I close the book. That book that puts me in that delicious love fog that has me walking around with a dreamy smile on my face. Ahhhh there is NOTHING better than that. That sense of satisfaction and needing to shout to the world from the rooftops that I found our next AWESOME READ, and then wanting to bite everyone’s head off for daring to love (and claim!!!) MY new book boyfriend. evilΒ MINE!!!!Β LOL!!!!

And so far, my antidote is to mix it up until I find him again. Read a scary horror that will have my heart racing and my senses on edge. If it has me sleeping with the lights on, that’s fun!! Or read a crazy-psycho love story that makes me so relieved it’s not me. Hey, we can learn from these scary books. Kind of a “how-to” or a “how-NOT-to” cautionary tale. πŸ˜‰ LOL! Or to read a psych-thriller that has me guessing the entire way through, and then pulls the rug right out from underneath me with a so-clever twist. These are SO much fun my friends. And then… apparently I’ve just discovered my love of certain sci-fi/techno-thrillers types. But what makes me happy? Is that I’m enjoying SO many other stories now. I’m branching out. From epic YA LIFE stories, to scary thrillers, to my beloved love stories, I’m at a stage where there’s so much more for me to choose from now that I realize I’m enjoying other genres. The book world is my oyster.

Q: Cristina:Β Adding on to Fabi’s question regarding genre progression, have you noticed a difference between your 5 star reviews from then until now? To elaborate, is it tougher to get a 5 star review from you now vs. back then? Do you notice any common book themes/characteristics in your 5 star reviews?

A: Maryse: Hrmm… I honestly don’t know, and I’ll tell you why. There were some stories back then that I 5-starred (or gave a high rating for) that I might not 5 star today (but back then, I was SO excited about it). And yet, I see some stories that I 4-starred back then, that I would TOTALLY 5-star today, because it has stayed with me after all of these years, and because I’ve read SO much, it’s almost as if in the grand repertoire of my reading history, I “know” better now because I have so much to compare to.

But you know what? It’s so hard to gauge, because my book-interests change over the years, and when something is fresh, new and exciting, and I can barely put it down, to me that is highly indicative of a 5-star rating from me. Of course I factor in writing and story flow, but much of my rating has to do with a combination of how a book makes me feel on the spot as I’m reading (all the way to the end – most important), and then how I feel when I’ve Β finish the book. And maybe even how I think back on it, a few days (or even weeks, or years) after. I’ve read some wonderfully written books, with impressive detail and research, that didn’t make me feel much of anything, other than curiosity.Β I read some as an outsider looking in. And I want to feel as if I’m a part of the story. I’m LIVING it with the characters. I AM the characters. I read to feel good (or bad) as long as it’s entertaining or absorbing. But especially I read toΒ feel. Once I factor in how it made me feel, I can give it an honest rating (and if it made me feel ecstatic, excited, and/or addicted… it’s very likely to be a 5-star read!).

Q: Cristina: I’m curious on how do choose which books to review? Is it random or do you have a system?

A. Maryse: It’s more random than anything. I’d say 80% random and 20% planned (and it’s usually something I really want to read anyway, if I’ve specifically “scheduled it” into my reading week). But no real “system”. I’m a spontaneous reader and blogger (well… mostly, since I do have weekly posts that correspond with a certain day each week). LOL!!! I choose my next read depending on my mood, so that I can enjoy myself every single time I read. I read because I love it, and it entertains me so much, and it’s my “special time” just for me. If it’s a good book and I’m into it, I can live there for a whole day or more! It’s what inspires me to write more “fun” or “I’m SO excited!!!” reviews, and those are my favorite to write.

But if I’m feeling obligated to read something (and occasionally it happens, if I’ve promised to give it a go), but the story isn’t catching me, or I’m just not in the mood for the genre, my heart might not be in it either. Then I’m bummed, instead of excited. Yep. I have to be in the mood for it. However I have been known to specifically read some because it was by an author I love and many are highly anticipating it (so I suppose that’s “mood” also, because I’m always in the mood for my favorite authors). πŸ˜‰

Q. R:Β I have one!! I want to know how many books a month you DNF that we never hear about! And do authors always know when you’re reading them or do you just pick something up and then quietly DNF if it doesn’t work?

A. M: Yes. I do DNF books. Life is too short, and there are just SO MANY books that I want to read. How many in a month? At least four. Probably double that. Sometimes it’s just because it’s not what I’m in the mood for, or something that I’m DYING to read has come my way. Mostly, I give it a good “first quarter” of the book read (unless it’s obvious from the start that it’s not for me), and then I either continue, or I move on to something else. And I’ve DNF’d later on, even after the first quarter. *blushes* I try not to let an author know I’m reading their book unless I’m feeling like I’m truly into it. At times they do know, because something has blurb-jolted me, I’ve started it, and well, I occasionally announce it to everyone, so… yeah. But I prefer alleviating stress for everyone and just going crazy for it publicly once I really know. πŸ˜€

There will be a FUN FUN FUN part three tomorrow. I answer more questions, Β + some of our book crew’s very first “comments” here (that they’re dying to re-read, LOL!), some of the funniest moments on the blog (so many!!), and my perfect reading day.

    Happy 8th Birthday, Blog!!! Let’s Reminisce… Part 1

    February 28, 2017 By Maryse 66 Comments

    Happy 8th Birthday, Maryse’s Book Blog!! πŸ˜€

I can’t even believe it. My tiny little blog is growing up and I’ve had (and am still having) SO MUCH FUN with it. Some of you have been with me for years, some of you, from the very beginning in fact, And some of you are just finding and joining our amazing book-community, and I LOVE that you’re jumping right in with us.

‘Cause you know we get silly here, and while books are always our #1 topic of discussion, they tend to spur us into other conversations that have us laughing out loud. Sometimes we’re so connected, chatting, responding immediately, that it truly feels like we’re all in the same room together. I FORGET that we’re online. I SEE you guys in my head. I see you laughing, chortling, snorting, and rolling on the floor. I SEE our book-blankie fort, and I see all of our shenanigans.

I am so delighted, that this blog has created a whole other “real world” for us.

And today, we’re going to reminisce… and my book crew has asked me a bunch of fun “book and book blog questions” so it’s going to be enlightening, too!

Β Amy:Β Eight years?!? I sense some celebratory martinis on the horizon!!!

bev:Β We need cupcakes to celebrate.

    R: Cupcake martinis…

MichelleS: 8 years! Wow. I found your blog April 2011, so I missed 2 years of goodness… which was probably full of PNR! Dang it. But it’s been fun ever since. I find almost all my books here! Yay! Love all you ladies!

Leslie: Congrats Maryse!!! I think I found you in 2011, but held my tongue for a very time.Β :)Β Yours is only blog I have stuck with consistently. You rock!!!

bev: Walk down memory lane. I believe I stumbled upon the blog in 2011, same as Leslie. I think it was KA’s Sweet Dreams, 95% sure. But could of been Beautiful Disaster. When I first started having conversations I believe it started with MichelleS. And you all used to make me hungry. I think we talked a lot about Nutella. Biggest laugh has to be Amy’s peanut throwing. First br was The Tied Man. Oh, and the books. The Sea of Tranquility: A Novel,Β Slammed: A Novel, The Edge of Never, The Sweet Gum Tree, On the Island: A Novel, Rock Me (Ross Siblings Book 2), Hearts in Darkness (Hearts in Darkness Duet Book 1),Perfection (A Neighbor From Hell Series Book 2), Ten Tiny Breaths: A Novel (The Ten Tiny Breaths Series Book 1), Painted Faces. And many more and many since, but it is here I started delving into indie.

MichelleS:Β Bev – we must have been lurking st the same time! My first Maryse book was Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour Book 1)Β then Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series Book 2)! …Nutella! I remember that! Remember the Nutella salami! I bookmarked her page in 2011 as β€œMary’s Book Blog”.., and never changed it. Hi Mary!

Maryse: LOL MichelleS!!! Do you know how often I’m still called that (in emails I receive)…

R.: I pronounced your name Marcy for the longest time and even after I figured it out, it took a while to break the habit.

Fabi: I originally came to Maryse’s site (I think around 2011 also) looking for my next PNR book. I stayed and started reading indie NA and CR because of this blog. It took me a couple of years before I started commenting I think. I know for a fact that BD suggested here kicked off my NA reading binge.

Leslie: The things I remember most about blog when I first stumbled upon it is that Maryse is Twilight fan and I remember wondering if that pretty pic of half a face was her. Hee hee

    Maryse: Awwww Leslie. <3 Yep, it’s me. Many moons ago.Β ;)Β See what I did there? I said moons. β€˜Cause Twilight.Β :P

Nay:Β Sounds like I started lurking here at around the same time as many of you. I know it was back when Maryse read mostly PnR.

Ela: I remember starting off on here in the β€œdiscuss” area, WHICH IS STILL BROKEN AND THE BOOK BOYFRIEND THREAD WAS MISSING, but like most I was a lurker….checking on new rec’s AND it was around the time that Fifty Shades was published AND Beautiful Disaster AND Thoughtless (although I believe that one was still free)! WOW GOOD TIMES!!!!!! You know in the Discuss area of this blog I’ve made some really good friends whom I still to this day talk with???? AND whom I even met at YOUR (Maryse’s) Book Bashes???? YUP IT’S TRUE!

Maryse: I love our discussions here… it’s how we’ve become friends, and not just β€œbook friends” (although book friends are great, too). But I feel like I KNOW you guys, you know? More than just our love of books, but our lives, current events, food, other hobbies, family… it makes me happy.

Anna: Congrats Maryse! I first found your blog when looking for something to read after Beautiful Disaster. Your blog has helped me find new books that I would not have discovered otherwise. Thank you for making my reading life better.Β :)

TashaJ:Β Congrats Maryse! I’ve been following since 2012. I started getting back into reading after 50 Shades and was looking for what to read after I think and Beautiful Disaster from your blog came up! I’ve been a die hard follower ever since!

Jan:Β I’ve been blogging here since 2015 (I think) but used to regularly read (and love) it for a while before joining in the discussion.

bev:Β Maryse do you have celebration posts planned? …Β Or let’s ask Maryse all the bookish questions.

Cristina:Β Congrats Maryse!! Here’s to many, many more!! Thank you for blasting open my reading world and connecting me with so many beautiful people on here!! I’m so happy to have found you all! I don’t really know many people who read the types of books we do, so it’s great to find people who get and understand me. I think a β€œMaryse Interview” is a fabulous idea!

YAY!!! YES!!! Questions sound like so much fun, so let’s jump in, shall we?

Q: Tessa:Β Maryse, did you ever read a book you were not sure you’d like and it blew you away?Β

Fabi: Tessa, I bet Maryse will say The Martian to your question: β€œMaryse, did you ever read a book you were not sure you’d like and it blew you away?” That one seemed so far out of character for her and she just loved it.

A: Maryse: Fabi THAT is the one. And I’m dying for more like that. I was hooked on The Martian, and fell head-over-heels over a guy that wasn’t even a romance hero, or part of a love story. NOW THAT is fun. When a character can mesmerize you so, that you fall for ’em, even without the usual “romance tropes”. He was smart, he was incredibly industrious, he was a survivor, and best of all, he was HILARIOUS. Even during the worst of times, he always pulled himself together and entertained himself (as well as us) while he solved his next life-or-death situation. *swoon* The perfect man. I’d live on Mars with him, any day!

Q: Tessa:Β What book do you do to get out of a book fog?

A: Maryse: Since book fogs usually occur after I’ve fallen hard-in-love with a character in a romance book, or have my heart shatter over a sad story (whether love, or life…), to get out of that book fog, I go for either a super-scary thriller (I love a good adrenaline rush), or a super-funny comedy romance (true belly laughs always make me feel better). Those always do the trick for me.

Q: Tessa:Β Top ten books that most influenced your reading.

A: Maryse. Oooooh boy. There are many that I 5-star loved, that I’d recommend in a heartbeat, but only a few that influenced, and directed, my reading so intensely. Okay I’m giving it a go!

Twilight (set me in the biggest love fog of my life)… it lasted MONTHS (years!!!) with me desperately trying to find more like it (at least “feel-wise). This is the book that set me reading again and inspired this blog.
Beautiful Disaster (the book-love of my life – yes I understood that I should run as far away from the intensity and chaos that was Travis, but I would have loved him to the end of time, despite the “co-dependant, unhealthy, red flag” warnings). I never thought I’d fall in love with someone this hard again after Edward, but I did. And Travis was it. And Travis STILL is it.
Fifty Shades of Grey (a stalker-type that was even more messed up than Travis? So damaged, so broken, so needing love that I couldn’t help but to love him, because he deserved it, even though he sometimes made it SO hard). And then that scene in book #2…? Yeah. I fell in love. Don’t tell Travis.
Thoughtless. This love triangle tore my heart out, and I REALLY struggled with the fact that I was as “in love” with Kellan as I was with my beloved Travis. No matter, this one took me on an emotional, heartachey ride, and IT. WENT. THERE. Gasp worthy. I LOVED IT and this will always be the pinnacle of all love triangle books. It was real, and they made some awful decisions and yet… they were so human. Each one of them.
How to Kill a Rock Star (so eloquent, so raw and real, and destroyed me HARD at one point, and once I was done, I needed to feel THAT again),
The Martian. Who knew I could fall in love with a hero that was not a romance hero at all? I was fascinated with every single facet of this book, but especially how incredibly self-reliant he was. And even more so because he made me laugh all the way through. You’d think this kind of scary story would be stuffy, or too serious? You’d be wrong. Hilarious and addictive to the very last page. I’m worried I’ll never find another like it.

LANI LYNN VALE'S LATEST IS LIVE!! SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE WITH A BAD BOY!!!

β€œβ€¦we were once again reunited. Only this time in an undercover FBI investigationβ€”me, the FBI officer, and Troup call sign β€˜State’ as a military liaison. Trouble always finds him. You’d do better to run far, far away. Truer words had never been spoken.

    #amazonaffiliate #CommissionsEarned #bookrelease #SecondChanceRomance

From the time Troup was a young boy, he’d been in some kind of trouble. So it only goes to show when he winds up in the FBI investigation with none other than Beckham Spurlock, his high school sweetheart, things are bound to go wrong.

Only, he has no idea how wrong until things go bad. Really, really bad…”
