Craving Constellations (The Aces)
Gritty biker book alert! This one had just enough softness and just enough rawness to keep me reading and believing. While there’ve been a few “darker reads” lately that I’ve found myself struggling with (a few outrageous too-much-too-soon turn of events that… lost me along the way), this one, even in it’s very rough and hate-able moments… was believable. And that’s just what I needed, to stay focused on it’s own version of abrasive angst. Not so much eye-rolling, or exasperation. Just pure and real infuriation and terror. And some tender awwww’ing.

Bijou Hunter – Damaged Series Reading Order
<—-Β Book #1 had me all intensely connecting to the hero (while simultaneously wanting to run in the other direction… And then back to him, again).
Β My brain, you know. It had “smart” opinions, while my heart had… another idea.Β I mean, he’s literally (yes, I said literally!) the guy that your mamma warned you about. He’s a player, a bad boy, part of a rough crew, and his over-the-top reactions to… other guys in the vicinity… well… eeeeeep!!!Β He’s jealous, possessive, and reacts obnoxiously. Publicly.
Stephanie Tyler – Defiance Series Reading Order
<— The minute I saw this one (as I was preparing this week’s latest “new release post“) I knew I had to get it and point it out to y’all. This was so obviously going to be for us! Motorcycle club gangs with a dystopian feel? This could only mean fun! It is VERY high on my TBR list, and many of our fellow readers jumped on it and have already given it their stamp of approval:
Georgia:Β I was all set to go. Had my TBR list with all the new releases and I saw maryse post a new book by Stephanie Tyler called Defiance. Well I was hooked, 35% into it and it is really good. It reminds of Kit Rochas books Beyond Shame and Beyond Control but a little tamer.
Book Review – Unbeautifully by Madeline Sheehan
Unbeautifully (Undeniable: Book Two)
Two for two this week for me and I loved this one on an almost 5-star level. Ooooooh it was almost perfect for me, even when I was appalled at a few of the men (eeeep! Deuce is too much for me, at times), I was good with the “realism”. I knew what I was heading into, and would have been disappointed if the bikers weren’t true to their characters. The author did not let us down.
There is no such thing as “politically correct” in this group. Women who debase themselves just to be a “part” of them are disrespected (and while I’m on the subject, the “old ladies” can be, and often are, too). Angry tirades are taken out on the wrong people. Murder, mayhem and criminal activity abound. Plus, they have their own version of the bro-codeΒ and the punishment doesn’t always fit the crime (in our eyes) but in theirs… well. Eeeeeeeep! From beatdowns, to “going to ground”, you eff up? You pay.

SUNDAY BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!!
Β THE ONE WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR IS LIVE!!!!!!!!Β Undeserving (Undeniable Book 5)Β ββββββββββ
And OMG I LOVE this blurb!!! This is exactly the hard-luck love story that I can’t resist! Preacher and Debbie!!Β And here is a fun, introspective note from the author about this one:
“Undeserving is a book Iβve been wanting to write from the beginning of the Undeniable series–a story that has weighed heavy on my mind for years. It’s a story that I wrote over and over again, and was always left feeling unsatisfied, never feeling that Iβd done it justice.
