Following my heart, one book at a time...
Recommended to me by author Karina Halle (author of one of my new favorite Paranormal series: Experiment in Terror):
Karina Halle: “@ItsMaryse now that you’re EIT-less, I think you need to read Inhale by @kendallgrey1 next. It’s perfect for your blog”
Maryse’s Book Blog: Oh YES! Looks right up my alley and the synopsis mentions “his rock star persona” and I’m a sucker for those!! 😉
Karina Halle: yay! You’ll love it and your readers will love it, big thumbs up from me 🙂
We went crazy for these books!! One of my #1 favorite books (and bad-boy rock star heroes) ever, but prepare for torture and heartache and lots and lots of wanting to throw your e-reader (or book) across the room. Oh and there’s lots of very steamy stuff. 😉 If you haven’t read these yet, you must!!
Wendy: “OMG, I loved Thoughtless and am loving Effortless. I wish the Nook had Effortless available. This love triangle was exciting, painful, thrilling, and exhausting…”
Sound Bites: HarperImpulse New Adult Romance
Here’s yet another example of my TBR list shifting when I suddenly spot something that I feel I MUST read. It showed up on my latest “bargains” list and I was really in the mood for a good old fashioned angsty rock star romance. I know, right!? What a surprising twist in my “usual” reading material. Doesn’t sound like me at all. Tee hee!!!
This one certainly called to me with the whole musician aspect and overall, I enjoyed it well enough. It’s not really what I’d call YA (despite what the cover looks like) as the characters are well into their twenties. Then again… it was pretty “tame”. It’s about everything that I could possibly relate to. The music, life after college, the friends, the venues, and my own “apartment living” days. A twenty-something woman returns to her home town after college (and after being betrayed by the two people closest to her).
Here it is!! Cover reveal, and we can pre-order it, too!! Double Time: Sinners On Tour (The Sinners on Tour) book #3 will feature Trey’s story (the other guitarist in the band). I HEART rock stars and I just can’t WAIT!!! (*groan* will be released on November 1, 2012). Olivia says: “The pre-order button for kindle will be available closer to the release date. They should both come out on November 1.”
The author also teases us about it on her Facebook page with:
“The ending puts the biggest smile on my face and brings on the happy tears. I’m such a sap. 200 days until you can see what I’m smiling about! <– incurable tease”
Connected (Twists of Fate Book 1)
Another rock star book! Loved this!! Woooo hoooo!! I was made aware of it by both Jessica and Jane when I was searching for another bad boy book:
Jessica: Jolyn Palliata’s Connected (Twist of Fate Series) Dead rock star’s soul stuck in your body and mind, yes please!
Maryse’s Book Blog: OHHHHHH Jessica!! You said the magic word! Rock Star. HOT!!!
Jane: Something lighter, funnier, shorter. Something Rock Star-y perhaps? I have just the thing 🙂 … It’s a novella, so it’s a quick – but hot – read. You should read it. Seriously 🙂
