Kiss of Crimson: A Midnight Breed Novel (The Midnight Breed Series Book 2)
I’m really loving this series. It was a great choice following my Dark-Hunter marathon. I feel like I’m smack-dab in the middle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood world, again. While the stories, characters and situations are different, the “feel” of this series is similar (and very well written). From the Warriors, the villains, the vampire society and politics, and of course, the passionate encounters, if you are looking to read a series like BDB, this is it!

Book Review – Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Destined for an Early Grave
I was lucky enough to find this book one day early. I LOVED this book! Loved it! I have read a ton of books that have somewhat entertained me lately, but this one kept me wide awake until the wee hours of the morning, and then IΒ woke upΒ again a few hours later (purposely) to read some more before work!
It sucked me in quickly, and I was once again, right at home with Cat & Bones and the crew (despite itΒ having been many months since the last book in the series). I wondered if I would have any difficulties enjoying the action packed pace, againΒ (as opposed to all theΒ sugary vampire romance I’ve found myself reading lately). Not only did I get right in into it, I think I simply prefer this style. While the romantic tension isΒ always an important part of this series, the lover’s turmoil is never “eye rollingly bad” (their “issues” always seem quite authentic and valid).
Book Review – Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris
Dead and Gone: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood)
I have managed to finish this novel inΒ a day (it is a fairly easy read), however I found my attention span waning many times throughout.
The story involves a potential “fairy” war, with SookieΒ a possible target, a separate murder mystery that Bon Temps faces yet again, some FoS discrimination against the newly outed Weres, and of course the usual “who does Sookie sorta love” drama.
