Reader Question – The book about the author that used a model for her “author photo” but is now getting popular…

March 10, 2016 By Maryse 4 Comments

Happy Reader Question Day!! It’s time for some “guess the book” action, and while I posted this one on Facebook, we didn’t get any answer-bites, other than now we all want to read it. LOL!

Diana needs our book help… she read this blurb, but can’t remember what book it is:

“Help! Recently I read a blurb (I swear here, bc you’re my source for book news/reviews) about an upcoming book & I can’t remember the title or find it anywhere!

Plot: A reclusive author uses a stock photo on the back of her books so later when she’s forced to make a public appearance she hires the girl whose photo it was to pose as the author. I think it said the book series got turned into a movie or something & the author regrets not being herself? read more

Sylvain Reynard – Florentine Trilogy Reading Order

March 9, 2016 By Maryse Leave a Comment

Do you guys remember how crazy so many went over this author’s Gabriel’s Inferno series? That one was blowing minds in the student-bossy-pants-teacher romance realm, and guess what? He has another new series and Ellie tells us how it ties in with Gabriel’s Inferno!

Ellie: I’ve read all of Sylvain Reynard’s books and love them. The first in his Florentine trilogy is ‘THE PRINCE” which is on Kindle or Nook. The publisher has not decided on paperback yet since it was a prequel to THE RAVEN” trilogy. The reason for the prequel was to help new readers understand the connection to his GABRIEL’S INFERNO’s trilogy. It took me a while to warm up to the vampire, theme, but I fell in love with The Prince and thought Raven Wood was a strong character. SR takes us back to Florence, Italy for this exciting saga and doesn’t disappoint his readers with his eloquence and style. read more

Looking for Books with Strong Heroines? Here are the latest reader recommendations…

March 7, 2016 By Maryse 13 Comments

Since we frequently experience a story through the heroine’s POV, it helps us connect with her if we really like her. If we can relate to her, or would love to have her as a friend, or family member. And heroine’s come in all different personalities (bad-asses, damsels in distress, naive, jaded, etc…) but we truly get a kick out of the spitfires!

Doesn’t mean they can’t be vulnerable or sensitive, and flawed. But we love it when she has a great sense of self, a sense of humor, she’s compassionate, and loyal, but knows when to put herself first. read more
