Who’s in the mood for some seriously dark “dark reads”? Maybe with some love stories mixed in (<— notice I did not say “romance” – cause that’s an entirely different genre) but, you know… some really messed up stuff in the process. 🙂
Sonia asked for some recommendations, “in the spirit of Halloween”, but come on. We know we read these all year long. Tee hee!
Hi guys,
Today I’m here for a thriller request. Something dark, barbaric, morbid.
My favourite book in thriller genre is : The Risk (Mindf*ck #1) by S.T. Abby.
It’s got suspense has you guessing, scared, wishing the heroine kills the motherf*ckers. Its morbidly dark, revengeful.
Please have the requests coming. If its on KU even better but I’m willing to pay if the book is a sold 10 star.
Thanks in advance let’s get into the Halloween spirit.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Maryse: YAY!!!! I have a few of my own that I’ll add (probably not as morbid as her request… oooohhh wait… I DO!!) My immediate recommendation is The Tied Man by Tabitha McGowan (here is my review and I FREAKED OUT).
Lena: yep
Rae: ditto 👍
Cheryl: OMG, The Tied Man- so very dark, disturbing and heartbreaking!!
Maryse: The Tied Man. I almost DIED …DIIIIIIIEDDD! Remember??? *thud*
Cindy: Gypsy Brothers series by Lili St. Germain. It’s graphic and haunting.
Laura: …the gypsy brothers my god they are brutal it’s a great story
Deborah: …the most addicting, intense motorcycle series ever..Have any of you read The Gypsy Brothers Series???? OMG soooo gooood!!! It’s seven books but each one is under 100 pgs …. The girl is absolutely the craziest heroine I’ve ever read and I just loved her to pieces….. It had everything I love in a book!!!! Oh the feels!!!! I still feel like I’m in their world
Antonella: …think you guys would love it – revenge, love, drama, all mashed together into one epic hot saga.
MichelleS: …you wanted gritty? Oh boy. This one is as gritty as they come. I think I need a shower! So filthy
Tena: Captive in the dark and Seduced in the dark by C J Roberts. So dark and wonderful
Maryse: ABSOLUTELY THESE!!!! BLEW. MY. MIND!!! SOOOOOO DARK but unputdownable. P.S. Here are my book reviews:
- Book Review – Captive in the Dark by CJ Roberts – 4.5 stars
- Book Review – Seduced in the Dark by CJ Roberts – 4.5 stars
Jean: Captive in the Dark (CJ Roberts)!!!! One of the best!
MichelleS: …Captive in the Dark. Dark, twisted…
Katie:
- Six by KI Lynn
Niki: … the hero is pretty dark emotionally since he is kind of a psychopath…but I’m really enjoying it!!
- Black by TL Smith
- Trails of Sin by Pam Godwin
Marie:
- The Decimation of Mae by DH Sidebottom,
Milissa: the decimation of Mae d.h sidebottom was a major deal read.. And was out of this world.. Kind of on the same as the tied man.. I am still in a book fog.. Girls u got to read this..
Maryse: Gah! Bummer Milissa… thank you so much for your feedback. I did have The decimation of Mae on a previous list.. very dark sounding!
Jenn: Holy Hell I devoured this, I am sitting at work cross-eyed because I literally did not sleep. This was just what I needed and now I want to tare into the second book in the series but I think I need to breathe first…
Maria: Favorite mindf**k of all time!!!!!!
- Deliver series by Pam Godwin.
Kimberly: One book that also took me out of my comfort zone yet was curiously arousing in the same way was Deliver by Pam Godwin.
Siana: …dark and deliciously sexy. Deliver has some heart stopping twists and turns…
Gemma: Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher
Maryse: I LOVED that one. I love all her thrillers and her beautifully dark and often dangerous women. 😉 Here is my 5-STAR review.
Maria: Mud Vein got me pretty good!
Kristie: Love the ending to Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher❤️
MichelleS: I’ll never ever forget Mud Vein. Not pretty, but a good mind f**k for sure. …it was way out there for me.
Grey: Mud Vein was a definite 5 for me.
Mandy: Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher…that book spoke to me on so many levels…
Cheryl: I loved and hated Mud Vein. Tarryn Fisher is the queen of the mind f*&k book
Donna: Beneath the Burn by Pam Godwin
Renee: I found myself loving Beneath the Burn too If it hadn’t been kindle I was reading on I would have thrown that book a time or two and found myself holding my breath more than a few time too!!
Andrea: I just finished Beneath the Burn and it was really good. Definitely one of my favorites this year.
Kathryn: I loved this book. I love Pam’s writing style. … This story had a lot of angst. Erotic and just a bit kinky. If you love to hate bad guys the bad guy in this story is definitely worth hating. I highly recommend this book. I gave it 5 stars.
Thank you so much for including my book Mine. Definitely vengeful 😉 Andrea xo
Absolutely my pleasure!!!
These kinds of books aren’t my usual read. But I did enjoy The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith. It’s a bit different cos it’s sci-fi romance, but I would definitely call it a dark read. But fantastic!
